In eastern Thailand the Klaeng fault zone includes a high-grade metamorphic rock assemblage, named Nong Yai Gneiss, which extends about 30 km in a NW–SE direction along the fault zone. The rocks of this brittle-fault strand consist of amphibolite to granulite grade gneissic rocks. Structural analysis indicates that the rocks in this area experienced three distinct episodes of deformation (D1–D3). The first (D1) formed large-scale NW–SE-trending isoclinal folds (F1) that were reworked by small-scale tight to open folds (F2) during the second deformation (D2). D1 and D2 resulted from NE–SW shortening during the Triassic Indosinian orogeny before being cross-cut by leucogranites. D1 and D2 fabrics were then reworked by D3 sinistral shearing, including shear planes (S3) and mineral stretching lineations (L3). LA–MC–ICP–MS U–Pb zircon dating suggested that the leucogranite intrusion and the magmatic crystallization took place at 78.6 ± 0.7 Ma followed by a second crystallization at 67 ± 1 to 72.1 ± 0.6 Ma. Both crystallizations occurred in the Late Cretaceous and, it is suggested, were tectonically influenced by SE Asian region effects of the West Burma and Shan-Thai/Sibumasu collision or development of an Andean-type margin. The sinistral ductile movement of D3 was coeval with the peak metamorphism that occurred in the Eocene during the early phases of the India–Asia collision.  相似文献

Over 300 samples for paleomagnetic analysis and K–Ar dating were collected from 27 sites at NW–SE and NE–SW trending dike swarms (herein, NW dikes and NE dikes, respectively) in the Koshikijima Islands, northern Ryukyu Arc. The NW dikes are Middle Miocene in age and have directions (D = ? 37.7°, I = 51.8°, α95 = 9.6°, and κ = 40.8) that are deflected westward relative to the stable eastern Asian continent. Conversely, the NE dikes, of Late Miocene age, have directions (D = 16.1°, I = 57.7°, α95 = 7.1°, and κ = 41.9) that show no such deflection. These differences are interpreted as indicating that the Koshikijima Islands underwent approximately 40° of counter-clockwise rotation during the Middle to Late Miocene. A synthesis of the paleomagnetic and structural data suggests a three-stage history of extensional deformation: (1) displacement upon normal faults (F1 faults) without vertical-axis block rotation, (2) strike-slip reactivation of F1 faults and oblique-normal displacement on NE–SW-trending faults (F2 faults) with vertical-axis block rotation, and (3) oblique-normal displacement on F2 faults without vertical-axis block rotation. Regional differences in the timing and amount of counter-clockwise vertical-axis block rotations indicate that the northern Ryukyu Arc rotated as several distinct rigid blocks.  相似文献

The Massif Central, like the southern part of the Massif Armoricain, belongs to the north Gondwana margin. The Massif Central consists of a stack of nappes resulting from six main tectonic-metamorphic events. The first, D0, is coeval with a Late Silurian (ca 415 Ma) high-pressure (HP) (or ultra high-pressure) metamorphism for which the associated structures are poorly documented. The Early Devonian D1 event, responsible for top-to-the-southwest nappe displacement, is coeval with migmatization and the exhumation of HP rocks around 385–380 Ma. In the northern part of the Massif Central, metamorphic rocks with retrogressed eclogites are covered by Late Devonian undeformed sedimentary rocks. The Late Devonian-Early Carboniferous D2 event involves top-to-the-northwest shearing, coeval with an intermediate pressure-temperature metamorphism dated around 360–350 Ma. The Visean D3 event is a top-to-the-south ductile shearing, which is widespread in the southern Massif Central. Coevally, in the northern Massif Central, the D3 event corresponds to the onset of synorogenic extension. The next two events, D4 and D5, of Early and Late Carboniferous age, correspond to the syn- and late orogenic extensional tectonic regimes, respectively. The former is controlled by NW–SE stretching whereas the latter is accommodated by NNE–SSW stretching. These structural and metamorphic events are reconsidered in a geodynamic evolution model. The possibilities of one or two cycles involving microcontinent drifting, rewelding and collision are discussed.  相似文献

First results of the analysis of GPS measurement data obtained from 18 sites of two local networks in the vicinity of Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) for the period 2010–2015 have been presented. Horizontal velocity vectors are consistent with each other in the ITRF2014 system and with the velocities of the IGS permanent station ULAB. The sites move in the E–SE direction at a rate of 25–30 mm/yr, with the displacement azimuth averaging 105°. With respect to Eurasia, the vectors for most of the sites are slighly turned to the south, but they are still of SE orientation with the azimuth range of 130°–150° and magnitude values of 2–4 mm/yr. Relative horizontal velocities tend to decrease towards southeast that determines a zonal distribution of different type of relative strain patterns. The western part of the Ulaanbaatar network is characterized by the W–E oriented extension with the elongation rate ε1 = 12–16 × 10–8 yr–1. The shortening NW–SE trending strain with calculated value ε2 = 22.4 × 10–8 yr–1 characterizes the network’s eastern part. The highest values of the maximum shear strains (εmax = 10–14 × 10–8 yr–1) form an extended area in the center of the testing ground, which is elongated in the northeastern direction, conformably with the strike of the major geologic structures. The strain distribution pattern of the Emeelt network located within the eponymous seismogenic structures is characterized by the crustal elongation (5 × 10–6 yr–1) trending SE–NW and less pronounced shortening in the SW–SE directions. The axial part of the fault crossing the network in the NW direction exhibits maximum deformations.  相似文献

This paper investigates the age, PT conditions and kinematics of Karakorum Fault (KF) zone rocks in the NW part of the Himalaya–Karakorum belt. Granulite to greenschist facies assemblages were developed within the KF zone during strike-slip shearing. The granulites were formed at high temperature (800 °C, 5.5 kbar), were subsequently retromorphosed into the amphibolite facies (700–750 °C, 4–5 kbar) and the greenschist facies (350–400 °C, 3–4 kbar). The Tangtse granite emplaced syn-kinematically at the contact between a LT and the HT granulite facies. Intrusion occurred during the juxtaposition of the two units under amphibolite conditions. Microstructures observed within the Tangtse granite exhibit a syn-magmatic dextral S–C fabric. Compiled U–Pb and Ar–Ar data show that in the central KF segment, granulite facies metamorphism occurred at a minimum age of 32 Ma, subsequent amphibolite facies metamorphism at 20–18 Ma. Further shearing under amphibolite facies (650–500 °C) was recorded at 13.6 ± 0.9 Ma, and greenschist-facies mica growth at 11 Ma. These data give further constrains to the age of initiation and depth of the Karakorum Fault. The granulite-facies conditions suggest that the KF, accommodating the lateral extrusion of Tibet, could be at least a crustal or even a Lithosphere-scale shear zone comparable to other peri-Himalayan faults.  相似文献

Vein-type gold deposits in the Atud area are related to the metagabbro–diorite complex that occurred in Gabal Atud in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt. This gold mineralization is located within quartz veins and intense hydrothermal alteration haloes along the NW–SE brittle–ductile shear zone, as well as along the contacts between them. By using the mass balance calculations, this work is to determine the mass/volume gains and losses of the chemical components during the hydrothermal alteration processes in the studied deposits. In addition, we report new data on the mineral chemistry of the alteration minerals to define the condition of the gold deposition and the mineralizing fluid based on the convenient geothermometers. Two generations of quartz veins include the mineralized grayish-to-white old vein (trending NW–SE), and the younger, non-mineralized milky white vein (trending NE–SW). The ore minerals associated with gold are essentially arsenopyrite and pyrite, with chalcopyrite, sphalerite, enargite, and goethite forming during three phases of mineralization; first, second (main ore), and third (supergene) phases. Three main hydrothermal alteration zones of mineral assemblages were identified (zones 1–3), placed around mineralized and non-mineralized quartz veins in the underground levels. The concentrations of Au, Ag, and Cu are different from zone to zone having 25–790 ppb, 0.7–69.6 ppm, and 6–93.8 ppm; 48.6–176.1 ppb, 0.9–12.3 ppm, and 39.6–118.2 ppm; and 53.9–155.4 ppb, 0.7–3.4 ppm, and 0.2–79 ppm for zones 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The mass balance calculations and isocon diagrams (calculated using the GEOISO-Windows program) revealed the gold to be highly associated with the main mineralized zone as well as sericitization/kaolinitization and muscovitization in zone 1 more than in zones 2 and 3. The sericite had a higher muscovite component in all analyzed flakes (average XMs = 0.89), with 0.10%–0.55% phengite content in wall rocks and 0.13%–0.29% phengite content in mineralized quartz veins. Wall rocks had higher calcite (CaCO3) contents and lower MgCO3 and FeCO3 contents than the quartz veins. The chlorite flakes in the altered wall rocks were composed of pycnochlorite and ripidolite, with estimated formation temperatures of 289–295 °C and 301–312 °C, respectively. Albite has higher albite content (95.08%–99.20%) which occurs with chlorite in zone 3.  相似文献

The Inata gold deposit is hosted in the Bouroum greenstone belt of northern Burkina Faso and contains ca. 5 Moz of gold resource. The greenstone belt is divided into 4 distinct domains: The Pali West, Pali-Minfo and Fété Kolé domains comprised of variable proportions of mafic to intermediated volcanic, volcaniclastic and sedimentary rocks, and the Sona Basin comprised of feldspathic sandstones and turbidites. Potential Tarkwaian-like conglomerates are rarely observed on the eastern margin of the basin. The stratigraphy is crosscut by a series of intrusions between 2172 ± 15 Ma and 2122 ± 4 Ma. A complex deformation sequence is recorded in the rocks and has been interpreted in a five stage scheme: early syn-depositional basin margin faults reactivated through time and partitioning all subsequent regional deformation (DeB); N–S compression (D1B > 2172 Ma); E-W compression (D2B, < ca 2122 Ma); NW–SE compression (D3B), and a late N–S compression (D4B). D2B-D4B overprint all rocks, including those of the Sona Basin and Tarkwaian-like conglomerates. Peak metamorphism is mid- to upper-greenschist facies.Mineralisation at Inata is hosted in black shales and volcaniclastic rocks of the Pali-Minfo domain and comprises shear-zone hosted quartz-tourmaline-ankerite veins with associated sulphides dominated by pyrite and arsenopyrite. Three generations of pyrite (py1, py2, py3) and one generation of arsenopyrite (apy2) have been identified. Py1 is parallel to bedding and early D1B foliation and not associated with gold. Py2 and apy2 are coeval, contain up to 1 ppm gold and are spatially associated with auriferous quartz veins. Py3 locally overprints previous assemblages and is also associated with Au. Fluid inclusions in quartz indicate H2O to H2O–CO2–NaCl fluids in auriferous quartz veins.Microscopic to macroscopic observation of fabric-mineral-vein crosscutting relationships indicate that mineralisation is syn-D2B, disrupted and remobilised during D3B. All observations and data are consistent with Inata representing an orogenic style of gold mineralisation formed relatively late in the evolution of the host terrane.  相似文献

The Weyburn Oil Field is a carbonate reservoir in south central Saskatchewan, Canada and is the site of a large CO2 injection project for purposes of enhanced oil recovery. The Weyburn Field, in the Mississippian Midale Formation, was discovered in 1954 and was under primary production until secondary recovery by water flood began in 1964. The reservoir comprises two units, the Vuggy and the Marly, and primary and secondary recovery are thought to only have significantly depleted the Vuggy zone, leaving the Marly with higher oil saturations. In 2000, PanCanadian Resources (now EnCana), the operator of the field, began tertiary recovery by injection of CO2 and water, primarily into the Marly. The advent of this project was an opportunity to study the potential for geological storage of CO2.Using 43 Baseline samples collected in August 2000, before CO2 injection at Weyburn, and 44 monitoring samples collected in March 2001, changes in the fluid chemistry and isotope composition have been tracked. The initial fluid distribution showed water from discovery through water flood in the Midale Formation with Cl ranging from 25,000 to 60,000 mg/L, from the NW to the SE across the Phase 1A area. By the time of Baseline sampling the produced water had been diluted to Cl of 25,000–50,000 mg/L as a result of the addition of make up water from the low TDS Blairmore Formation, but the pattern of distribution was still present. The Cl distribution is mimicked by the distribution of other dissolved ions and variables, with Ca (1250–1500 mg/L) and NH3 (aq) increasing from NW to SE, and alkalinity (700–300 mg/L), resistivity, and H2S (300–100 mg/L) decreasing. Based on chemical and isotopic data, the H2S is interpreted to result from bacterial SO4 reduction. After 6 months of injection of CO2, the general patterns are changed very little, except that the pH has decreased by 0.5 units and alkalinity has increased, with values over 1400 mg/L in the NW, decreasing to 500 mg/L in the SE. Calcium has increased to range from 1250 to 1750 mg/L, but the pattern of NW–SE distribution is altered. Chemical and isotopic data suggest this change in distribution is caused by the dissolution of calcite due to water–rock reactions driven by CO2. The Baseline samples varied from −22 to −12‰ δ13C (V-PDB) for CO2 gas. The injected CO2 has an isotope ratio of −20‰. The Monitor-1 samples of produced CO2 ranged from −18 to −13‰, requiring a heavy source of C, most easily attributed to dissolution of carbonate minerals. Field measured pH had increased and alkalinity had decreased by the second monitoring trip (July 2001) to near Baseline values, suggesting continued reaction with reservoir minerals.Addition of CO2 to water–rock mixtures comprising carbonate minerals causes dissolution of carbonates and production of alkalinity. Geochemical modeling suggests dissolution is taking place, however more detail on water–oil–gas ratios needs to be gathered to obtain more accurate estimates of pH at the formation level. Geological storage of CO2 relies on the potential that, over the longer term, silicate minerals will buffer the pH, causing any added CO2 to be precipitated as calcite. Some initial modeling of water–rock reactions suggests that silica sources are available to the water resident in the Midale Formation, and that clay minerals may well be capable of acting as pH buffers, allowing injected CO2 to be stored as carbonate minerals. Further work is underway to document the mineralogy of the Midale Formation and associated units so as to define more accurately the potential for geological storage.  相似文献

We investigate the stress regimes acting during serpentinization and faulting of the largest known subcontinental lithospheric peridotite body, namely the Ronda peridotites (Betic Cordillera, S. Spain). Petrological and structural analyses on serpentinites grown along fault planes crosscutting the peridotite slab, reveal that they were developed during three superposed stress tensors: the oldest one (E1) is characterized by NW–SE sub-horizontal compression; the intermediate one consists in NE–SW to ENE–WSW extension with orthogonal compression (E2); and the youngest one (E3) shows a sub-vertical maximum stress axis and NW–SE sub-horizontal extension. During serpentinization, maximum and minimum stress axes flip between a NW–SE horizontal position and a vertical one in the whole peridotite body (E1 and E3), while E2 represents an intermediate stress stage. Field relationships and previous petrological and geochronological data indicate that serpentinization and associated stress tensors are coeval with intrusive leucogranite dikes crosscutting the peridotites, thus constraining these processes to 19–22 Ma and occurring at upper continental crust depths (P < 4 kbar). Gravity data reveal that the average density of the Ronda mantle slab (~ 2.7–2.8 g/cm3) shows a negligible contrast with the surrounding crustal rocks, thus suggesting that the peridotite body is serpentinized in a great proportion. Our preferred tectonic model to account for the evolution of the Ronda peridotites in the upper crust considers that E1 compression was linked to the collision of the Alborán continental domain with the Iberian passive margin during the Gibraltar Arc formation. Subsequently, the sudden onset of extension recorded within the peridotite slab (E2 and E3) was favored by serpentinization-driven buoyancy.  相似文献

This study investigated the efficiency of a constructed wetland/filter basin (CW/FB) treatment system to improve the chemical composition of waste and surface waters. The system was constructed in closed phosphate mines used for clay settling and sand tailings. Monitoring was carried out for 18 months to evaluate the CW/FB performance under a variety of climatic conditions. Water samples were taken bi-monthly. To evaluate possible groundwater input into and water leaking out of the wetland 6 monitor wells were installed along the flow path and sampled monthly. In order to estimate the change of water chemistry along the wetland flow path, water samples along a transect were taken during the dry and rainy seasons. The samples were analyzed for pH, T, oxidation–reduction potential (ORP), conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), Fe(II), H2S, major anions, major cations, arsenic, fecal and total coliform. The study showed the following changes in water quality between the input and output: (1) Substantial decrease of water temperature (up to 10 °C); (2) Significant change in pH from about 9 to 6.5–7; (3) Negative ORP confirming the reducing conditions of the treatment system; (4) Substantial increase of H2S (up to 1060 µg/L); (5) Reduction of As from 5 to <2 µg/L (mostly <0.5); (6) Substantial reduction of SO4, F, Cl, NO3, NO2, Br, Na, K, Ca, and Mg; (7) Reduction of fecal and total coliform from 30–730 and 1000–7000 to <2 and <100 count/100 mL, respectively. In general, the performance of the CW/FB treatment system showed great potential to improve the water quality of industrial and municipal wastewater. Despite significant seasonal variations with respect to temperature, rainfall and humidity, the chemical/microbiological composition of the wetland output remained relatively constant.  相似文献

The relationship between major structural lineaments and locations of ore deposits in Iran has been investigated using geospatial data. In the course of lineament extraction, satellite images, aeromagnetic data, digital elevation model (DEM) and structural maps were processed and the lineaments and large-scale faults were identified. The extracted lineaments, based on subjective assessment, from each dataset were imported into GIS software and the “lineament map of Iran” was prepared by data integration. The analysis for selecting significant lineament was mainly based on fault correlated lineament and lineament with field map fractures, which was sets as benchmarks for compiling a final output map. Four major regional lineament trends of N–S, E–W, NW–SE and NE–SW were identified in the data of all images, which are corresponded to the structural zones and the major fault systems of Iran. The mineral deposits (active and abandoned) and mineral indications database compiled are based on the published maps, papers, reports and the ore deposits data files of Geological Survey of Iran. Integrating the output of these two datasets by GIS software resulted in the “Combined Map of Lineaments and Gold, Copper, Lead, Zinc and Iron Deposits of Iran”. The number and distance of ore deposits toward the lineaments were processed by the counting and cumulative methods in the GIS software's. Approximately, over 90% of the ore deposits of Iran are located in the central part of the lineaments (15 km on each side) which are concordant with a definition of large lineament. About 50% of these mineral deposits are closer than 5 km to the lineaments. There are significant correlations between lineament density and intersections with ore deposits occurrences. The observed associations at this scale are informative in establishing exploration strategy and decreasing exploration risks for detailed work on ore deposit scale.  相似文献

A 100–4000 m wide and 15 km long dike swarm, consisting of basalt and dolerite, occurs at the base of the Thelichi Formation in the Kohistan paleo-island arc terrane, north Pakistan. The dikes contain hornblende (altered from diopsidic-augite), diopsidic-augite (relics; ophitic to subophitic texture), chlorite, epidote, sphene, apatite, zircon, ilmenite, titanomagnetite and magnetite. The geochemistry reveals two groups of dikes: (1) Higher TiO2 (2.74–3.50 wt%), Na2O, Fe2O3 and lower Al2O3 (12.65–14.16 wt%) and MgO (3.73–5.04 wt%); (2) Lower TiO2 (1.24–2.05 wt%), Na2O, Fe2O3 and higher Al2O3 (14.02–16.52 wt%) and MgO (3.98–7.52 wt%). The MgO contents (3.73–7.52-wt%) show a variation in the dikes from relatively primitive to more evolved compositions. The dikes contain high amounts of both LILE and HFSE. The major, trace and rare-earth elements data confirm the MORB affinity and the back-arc basin origin of the dike swarm. The NW–SE orientation of the dike swarm and its 134 ± 3 Ma K–Ar age suggest the spreading axis of the back-arc basin in the Early Cretaceous.  相似文献

The Tertiary Thrace Basin located in NW Turkey comprises 9 km of clastic-sedimentary column ranging in age from Early Eocene to Recent in age. Fifteen natural gas and 10 associated condensate samples collected from the 11 different gas fields along the NW–SE extending zone of the northern portion of the basin were evaluated on the basis of their chemical and individual C isotopic compositions. For the purpose of the study, the genesis of CH4, thermogenic C2+ gases, and associated condensates were evaluated separately.Methane appears to have 3 origins: Group-1 CH4 is bacteriogenic (Calculated δ13CC1–C = −61.48‰; Silivri Field) and found in Oligocene reservoirs and mixed with the thermogenic Group-2 CH4. They probably formed in the Upper Oligocene coal and shales deposited in a marshy-swamp environment of fluvio-deltaic settings. Group-2 (δ13CC1–C = −35.80‰; Hamitabat Field) and Group-3 (δ13C1–C = −49.10‰; Değirmenköy Field) methanes are thermogenic and share the same origin with the Group-2 and Group-3 C2+ gases. The Group-2 C2+ gases include 63% of the gas fields. They are produced from both Eocene (overwhelmingly) and Oligocene reservoirs. These gases were almost certainly generated from isotopically heavy terrestrial kerogen (δ13C = −21‰) present in the Eocene deltaic Hamitabat shales. The Group-3 C2+ gases, produced from one field, were generated from isotopically light marine kerogen (δ13C = −29‰). Lower Oligoce ne Mezardere shales deposited in pro-deltaic settings are believed to be the source of these gases. The bulk and individual n-alkane isotopic relationships between the rock extracts, gases, condensates and oils from the basin differentiated two Groups of condensates, which can be genetically linked to the Group-2 and -3 thermogenic C2+ gases. However, it is crucial to note that condensates do not necessarily correlate to their associated gases.Maturity assessments on the Group-1 and -2 thermogenic gases based on their estimated initial kerogen isotope values (δ13C = −21‰; −29‰) and on the biomarkers present in the associated condensates reveal that all the hydrocarbons including gases, condensates and oils are the products of primary cracking at the early mature st age (Req = 0.55–0.81%). It is demonstrated that the open-system source conditions required for such an early-mature hydrocarbon expulsion exist and are supported by fault systems of the basin.  相似文献

Strongly deformed volcaniclastic metasediments and ophiolitic slices hosting the Sukari gold mineralization display evidence of a complex structural evolution involving three main ductile deformational events (D1–D3). D1 produced ENE-trending folds associated with NNW-propagating thrust slices and intrusion of the Sukari granite (689 ± 3 Ma). D2 formed a moderately to steeply dipping, NNW-trending S2 foliation curved to NE and developed arcuate structure constituting the Kurdeman shear zone (≤ 595 Ma) and East Sukari imbricate thrust belt. Major NE-trending F2 folds, NW-dipping high-angle thrusts, shallow and steeply plunging mineral lineation and shear indicators recorded both subhorizontal and subvertical transport direction during D2. D3 (560–540 Ma) formed NNE-trending S3 crenulation cleavage, tight F3 folds, Sukari Thrust and West Sukari imbricate thrust. The system of NW-trending sinistral Kurdeman shear zone (lateral ramps and tear faults) and imbricate thrusts (frontal ramps) forming the actuate structure developed during SE-directed thrusting, whereas the prevailing pattern of NNE-trending dextral Sukari shear zone and imbricate thrusts forming Sukari thrust duplex developed during NE-directed tectonic shearing. Sukari granite intruded in different pluses between 689 and 540 Ma and associated with at least four phases of quartz veins with different geometry and orientation. Structural analysis of the shear fabrics indicates that the geometry of the mineralized quartz veins and alteration patterns are controlled by the regional NNW- and NE-trending conjugate zones of transpression. Gold-bearing quartz veins are located within NNW-oriented sinistral shear zones in Kurdeman gold mine area, within steeply dipping NW- and SE dipping thrusts and NE- and NS-oriented dextral and sinistral shear zones around Sukari mine area, and along E-dipping backthrusts and NW-SE and N-S fractures in Sukari granite. The high grade of gold mineralization in Sukari is mainly controlled by SE-dipping back-thrusts branched from the major NW-dipping Sukari Thrust. The gold mineralization in Sukari gold mine and neighboring areas in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt is mainly controlled by the conjugate shear zones of the Najd Fault System and related to E-W directed shortening associated with oblique convergence between East and West Gondwana.  相似文献

The Baogutu gold deposit, West Junggar (Xinjiang, NW China), is composed of quartz–sulfide veins and their stockworks and is hosted within an Early Carboniferous volcanic–sedimentary sequence. Three ore-forming paragenetic stages can be identified: coarse-grained quartz–sulfide vein (stage I), gold-bearing fine-grained quartz–sulfide vein (stage II), and native antimony-bearing calcite–sulfide veinlets (stage III). The estimated formation temperatures (approximately 360 to 220 °C), fS2 (? 7 to ? 15 log units), and fO2 (? 26 to ? 43 log units) decrease from stage I, through stage II, to stage III. The nature of the hydrothermal fluid changed from weakly acidic (pH: 5 to 6 at stage I) to alkaline (pH: > 7 at stage III).Two different occurrences of native antimony could be identified: one coexists with chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite, whereas the other occurs as isolate grains within calcite veins. Native antimony (up to 100 μm in size) contains minor amounts of As (2.0 to 2.7 wt.%); empirical formula Sb0.95–0.96As0.03–0.04. Decrease of temperature and fO2 at high pH and low fS2 conditions favored co-precipitation of native antimony–ullmannite assemblages and the decomposition of tetrahedrite. Native antimony crystallized later than the native gold, suggesting fractionation between Au and Sb during the hydrothermal evolution of the deposit.  相似文献

Granitoids play an important role in deciphering both crustal growth and tectonic evolution of Earth. In the eastern end of the Yinshan–Yanshan belt of North China Craton, the Yiwulüshan massif is a typical region that presents the tectonic evolution features of this belt. Our field work on the host rocks has demonstrated two phases of opposite tectonics: compressional and extensional, however, the deformation is almost invisible in the intrusive rocks. To improve the understanding of the tectonic evolution of the Yiwulüshan massif and the Late Mesozoic tectonics of East Asia, a multidisciplinary study has been carried out. In this study, anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) and gravity modeling have been applied on these Jurassic plutons (Lüshan, Jishilazi and Guanyindong), which intrude into the Yiwulüshan massif. According to laboratory measurements and microscopic observations on thin sections, the AMS of the Yiwulüshan massif is characterized by secondary fabrics, indicating that the intensive post solidus deformation has reset the (primary) magmatic magnetic fabrics. A relatively gentle NW dipping magnetic foliation has been identified with two distinct groups of magnetic lineations of N34°E and N335°E orientations, namely LM1 and LM2, relatively. Gravity modeling reveals a southward thinning of the massif with a possible feeding zone rooted in the northern part of the massif. Integrating all results from structural observation, geochronological investigation, AMS measurement and gravity modeling, two tectonic phases have been identified in the Yiwulüshan massif, posterior to the Jurassic (180–160 Ma) magmatism in the Yinshan–Yanshan area. The early one concerns a Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous (~ 141 Ma) compressional event with a top-to-the-south to southwest sense of shear. The second one shows an Early Cretaceous (~ 126 Ma) NW–SE ductile extensional shearing. At that time, sedimentary basins widened and Jurassic plutons started to be deformed under post solidus conditions. In fact, the NW–SE trend of the maximum stretching direction is a general feature of East Asian continent during Late Mesozoic.  相似文献

The phase behavior of CO2–CH4–H2S–brine systems is of importance for geological storage of greenhouse gases, sour gas disposal and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). In such projects, reservoir simulations play a major role in assisting decision makings, while modeling the phase behavior of the relevant CO2–CH4–H2S–brine system is a key part of the simulation. There is a need for an equation of state (EOS) for such system which is accurate, with wide application range (pressure, temperature and aqueous salinity), computationally efficient and easy for implementation in a reservoir simulator. In this study, an improved cubic EOS model of the system CO2–CH4–H2S–brine is developed based on the modifications of the binary interaction parameters in Peng–Robinson EOS, which is widely implemented in reservoir simulators. Thus the new model is suited for numerical implementation in reservoir simulators. The available experimental data of pure gas brine equilibrium and gas mixture solubility in water/brine are carefully reviewed and compared with the new model. From the comparison, the new model can accurately reproduce (1) the CO2–brine mutual solubility data at temperature from 0 °C to 250 °C, pressure from 1 bar to 1000 bar and NaCl molality (mole number in 1 kg water, molal is used for short) from 0 to 6 molal, (2) CH4–brine mutual solubility data at temperature from 0 °C to 250 °C, pressure from 1 bar to 2000 bar and NaCl molality from 0 to 6 molal, (3) H2S–brine mutual solubility data at temperature from 0 °C to 250 °C, pressure from 1 bar to 200 bar and NaCl molality from 0 to 6 molal, and (4) has good accuracy for gas mixture solubility in brine.  相似文献

Spectral analysis of the digital data of the Bouguer anomaly of North India including Ganga basin suggest a four layer model with approximate depths of 140, 38, 16 and 7 km. They apparently represent lithosphere–asthenosphere boundary (LAB), Moho, lower crust, and maximum depth to the basement in foredeeps, respectively. The Airy’s root model of Moho from the topographic data and modeling of Bouguer anomaly constrained from the available seismic information suggest changes in the lithospheric and crustal thicknesses from ∼126–134 and ∼32–35 km under the Central Ganga basin to ∼132 and ∼38 km towards the south and 163 and ∼40 km towards the north, respectively. It has clearly brought out the lithospheric flexure and related crustal bulge under the Ganga basin due to the Himalaya. Airy’s root model and modeling along a profile (SE–NW) across the Indus basin and the Western Fold Belt (WFB), (Sibi Syntaxis, Pakistan) also suggest similar crustal bulge related to lithospheric flexure due to the WFB with crustal thickness of 33 km in the central part and 38 and 56 km towards the SE and the NW, respectively. It has also shown the high density lower crust and Bela ophiolite along the Chamman fault. The two flexures interact along the Western Syntaxis and Hazara seismic zone where several large/great earthquakes including 2005 Kashmir earthquake was reported. The residual Bouguer anomaly maps of the Indus and the Ganga basins have delineated several basement ridges whose interaction with the Himalaya and the WFB, respectively have caused seismic activity including some large/great earthquakes. Some significant ridges across the Indus basin are (i) Delhi–Lahore–Sargodha, (ii) Jaisalmer–Sibi Syntaxis which is highly seismogenic. and (iii) Kachchh–Karachi arc–Kirthar thrust leading to Sibi Syntaxis. Most of the basement ridges of the Ganga basin are oriented NE–SW that are as follows (i) Jaisalmer–Ganganagar and Jodhpur–Chandigarh ridges across the Ganga basin intersect Himalaya in the Kangra reentrant where the great Kangra earthquake of 1905 was located. (ii) The Aravalli Delhi Mobile Belt (ADMB) and its margin faults extend to the Western Himalayan front via Delhi where it interacts with the Delhi–Lahore ridge and further north with the Himalayan front causing seismic activity. (iii) The Shahjahanpur and Faizabad ridges strike the Himalayan front in Central Nepal that do not show any enhanced seismicity which may be due to their being parts of the Bundelkhand craton as simple basement highs. (iv) The west and the east Patna faults are parts of transcontinental lineaments, such as Narmada–Son lineament. (v) The Munghyr–Saharsa ridge is fault controlled and interacts with the Himalayan front in the Eastern Nepal where Bihar–Nepal earthquakes of 1934 has been reported. Some of these faults/lineaments of the Indian continent find reflection in seismogenic lineaments of Himalaya like Everest, Arun, Kanchenjunga lineaments. A set of NW–SE oriented gravity highs along the Himalayan front and the Ganga and the Indus basins represents the folding of the basement due to compression as anticlines caused by collision of the Indian and the Asian plates. This study has also delineated several depressions like Saharanpur, Patna, and Purnia depressions.  相似文献

Diabase dykes in Cihai, Beishan region, NW China are spatially and temporally associated with ‘Cornwall-type’ iron deposits. U–Pb dating of zircons from a diabase dyke using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) yields an age of 128.5 ± 0.3 Ma, indicating an Early Cretaceous crystallization age. Most of the diabases show low Mg-numbers, suggesting evolved magmas. The diabase dykes show typical ophitic or sub-ophitic textures, and are dominantly composed of phenocrysts of plagioclase (40–50%) and clinopyroxene (30–45%), with minor and varying amounts of biotite and hornblende (1–5%), and minor disseminated magnetite (∼5%). Their mineralogy reflects magma differentiation under relatively low oxygen fugacity conditions. The diabase dykes are characterized by minor variation in SiO2 (44.67–49.76 wt.%) and MnO (0.14–0.26 wt.%), but show a marked range of Al2O3 (10.66–14.21 wt.%), total Fe2O3 (9.52–13.88 wt.%), TiO2 (0.66–2.82 wt.%) and relatively high MgO (4.87–9.29 wt.%) with an Mg# value [atomic Mg/(Mg + Fe2+)] of up to 66. The Cihai diabases possibly experienced fractional crystallization of olivine + clinopyroxene and minor crustal contamination during the differentiation process. Prominent negative Nb, Ta and Ti anomalies suggest derivation from subduction-modified mantle. Furthermore, the rocks have relatively unradiogenic Sr- and Nd-isotopic ratios. These characteristics probably reflect partial melting of a subduction component in the source mantle lithosphere through heat input from an upwelling asthenospheric mantle. Such processes probably occurred within an extensional setting during the Early Cretaceous in the Beishan area. The iron-rich fluids were derived from deep sources, and the iron ores were concentrated through a convection cell driven by temperature gradients established by the intrusion of the diabase sills. The combined processes of subduction-related enrichment in the source, shallow depth of emplacement, and the involvement of large-scale circulation of basinal brines from an evaporitic source are inferred to have contributed to the formation of the ‘Cornwall-type’ mineralization in Cihai.  相似文献

Structural relationships of granitoid rocks dated by the U–Pb method indicate that deformation was diachronous and a strain gradient exists in a 6-km-thick section beneath the Selkirk allochthon, in the northern Monashee complex, one of the deepest structural exposures in the southern Canadian Cordillera. At high structural levels, immediately beneath a crustal-scale thrust zone that transported the allochthon eastward, a metasedimentary-dominated cover sequence was strongly affected by kilometre-scale east-verging isoclinal folds (F1) and outcrop-scale folds (F2) that are associated with the dominant foliation and lineation. The F2 folding occurred, at least in part, after 58 Ma and ceased by 55 Ma. In deeper levels of the cover sequence and the underlying orthogneiss-dominated basement, F2 folding occurred, at least in part, after 52 Ma and ceased by 49 Ma. Proterozoic dykes in the basement were locally weakly affected by D2. These new findings require that: (i) D2 compression youngs structurally downward, synchronous with the thermal peak of metamorphism; (ii) D2 in deeper levels is synchronous with extension above the complex that was partly responsible for its exhumation; and (iii) a D2 strain gradient lies between strongly deformed cover rocks and weakly D2-deformed basement rocks. We propose a model in which rocks that were tectonised at different places and times within the orogen were juxtaposed, likely during east-verging kilometre-scale F1 folding and shearing along the isocline limbs (a similar model was previously proposed to explain a pattern of downward younging thermal peak ages and an inverted metamorphic sequence in higher rocks). The rapid downward decrease in deformation intensity suggests that the lower limit of significant Cordilleran strain lies in the exposed basement. Cessation of deformation at this level is attributed to the fact that the basement attained elevated temperatures and began straining when the Cordilleran tectonic regime changed from compressional to extensional.  相似文献
