Principles are outlined for the use of sub-satellite soil, air, water, and vegetation samples as an auxiliary source of information in remote sensing studies of vegetation stress caused by air pollution. More specifically, procedures for satellite-synchronous aerial overflights, vegetation transects, water quality measurements, and soil tests are described as a basis for delineating boundaries between areas of vegetation stress and unpolluted areas in an industrialized area in the central Urals.  分析MODIS数据反演的大气气溶胶光学厚度(AOD)与大气环境污染的关系,结果表明: 当空气没有污染时,AOD<0.3; 轻度污染时,0.3<AOD<1.0; 污染严重时,AOD>1.0。在分析AOD与地面大气污染关系的基础上,结合空气污染指数,将城市光化学污染预警等级分为无、微弱、较弱、较强和强5级,并结合广州市实例进行了验证分析,为进一步建设城市光化学污染预警系统提供基础。  相似文献

The authors explore a wide range of applications of remote sensing methods in the study of natural hazards posed by exogenous geomorphologic processes in areas of predominantly calcareous and shale-based rock in mountainous portions of Dagestan. 中等分辨率成像光谱仪(CMODIS)具有34个光谱段,包含了从可见光、近红外、短波红外和热红外波段的波谱信息.本文结合2002年5月在北京地区开展的地面同步观测实验,对CMODIS数据质量进行了初步分析与评价,并对其在土地利用覆盖和水体污染分布监测等方面的应用效果进行了研究与分析.研究结果说明,CMODIS 数据质量达到了应用要求,可正确地反映不同地物类型的波谱响应.  相似文献

Abstract

In a previous article on this subject (Empire Survey Review, January 1937) the writer sought to show that for trigonometrical observations of vertical angles made near noon in the Tropics the coefficient of refraction depends chiefly on height above ground level in the case of stations sited within a few hundred feet above the general level of the ground surface. Indeed, the computed values of the coefficient K show a definite and appreciable increase with “h”, the height of the observing station above ground level; it is usually assumed that K decreases with increase in height above the Mean-Sea-Level surface. From analysis of the results obtained by varying h but holding the heights above Mean Sea Level fixed the writer came to the conclusion that the variations in K could only be due to abnormal values of dt/dh and d2t/dh2, “t” denoting the air temperature. Now it is generally recognized by meteorologists that abnormal lapse-rates of temperature do frequently occur in the lower air layers in the Tropics; but up to the present time no temperature soundings in Nigeria are available. Recently, however, the writer came across the results of the aerological soundings made by an expedition in East Africa during the year 1908. The results of many of the soundings were of no use for the purpose of this paper; many of the observations were not taken at or near noon, and in others counterlapses of temperature in the lower layers indicated that conditions were not normal. A set of observations taken at Mombasa between 10 and 11 a.m. were eventually chosen as offering an example of what might reasonably occur in the lower layers of the atmosphere.  相似文献

Remote sensing imagery at widely varying scales is used in the analysis of the soil-vegetation cover of the west-central Siberia. Space imagery and smaller-scale air photographs initially are used to divide a study area into basic soil-vegetation complexes based on the criterion of figure outline. The internal structure of the complexes are then analyzed in greater detail, using larger-scale air photographs and a standard interpretation key based on selected field observations. Tonal-textural variations establish the ecological affiliations of separate elements within each complex and their dynamic states at a particular point in time. A program for monitoring changes in the shoreline zone caused by the creation of manmade reservoirs in the western USSR is described. More specifically, multilevel remote sensing imagery, ranging from 1:1,000,000-scale Landsat imagery to large-scale air photos, is employed in the study of shifts in shoreline positions, elevation of the water table, and changes in vegetation associations and soil types resulting from waterlogging produced by the filling of reservoirs. A map depicting changes in these characteristics both before and ten years after the filling of a reservoir is included. Industry concentrated in cities is a major source of geochemical pollution. It is suggested that this technogenic impact on the environment can be measured by techniques developed in geochemistry. The specific nature of the pollutants can be identified and their levels of concentration (mostly in the soil) can be measured against normal background values. This allows areas of pollution to be classified and mapped in terms of the composition and concentration of pollutants from industrial emissions. A method is presented whereby soil reflectance on remote sensing imagery is used to estimate the level of soil pollution by oil production operations. This method can be used in lieu of the dangerous and toxic solvents now widely employed, and has the additional advantage of applicability to much larger areas. A method is proposed for the use of large-scale “landscape-functional” maps (depicting interrelationships between landscape structure, land use, and environmental impacts) in the identification and explanation of geochemical anomalies within urbanized areas. Landscape-functional complexes or basic elementary landscapes located within different zones of human activity, serve as the basic units of mapping. An excerpt from a landscape-functional map of an unnamed mining-metallurgical center in a semi-arid mountain basin environment is provided as an illustration of how such maps reveal spatial associations between trace-element concentrations in soil, snow, and stream bottom sediments; location in respect to major pollution sources (proximity, upslope or downslope position, leeward or windward orientation); and frequency and intensity of trace-element transport (mass movements, stream and overland flow, prevailing winds). A method for determining areas of most intensive melting within a mountain snowpack is described, based on an inverse relationship between reflectance and age of snow at wavelengths greater than 0.8 μm. Comparisons between the area of snow cover detected on visible and near infrared satellite imagery at different times during the spring thaw, and more specifically differences in position of the snowline, permit identification of the upper boundary of a zone of intensive snow-melt and water discharge from the snow cover. Efforts to monitor and map the changing water level and shoreline of a large mountain lake in Central Asia with aerial photographs are described. The essence of the work involved the mapping of the shoreline and position of river deltas from air photos from various years during the period 1949-1980, at uniform scale and at a level of accuracy permitting the quantitative (cartometric) as well as qualitative assessment of change. The sequence of work in compilation of map-diagrams for different parts of the shoreline involved the preliminary referencing of photos to a map, photo interpretation and compilation of large-scale “graphic diagrams,” preparation of a cartographic base, reduction and placement of diagrams on the base, and transformation of the image as a whole. 近年来,随着城市的发展,空气污染日益严重。目前,我国城市空气质量监测主要依靠空气质量监测站,但监测站数量有限,并且空气质量在一个城市的不同区域会出现较大起伏,单一利用监测站不易发现城市所有位置的空气质量起伏变化。对此,利用带有地理位置信息的新浪微博数据,分析空气污染相关主题微博与空气质量监测站点空气质量指数(air quality index,AQI)数据的相关性,建立两者间的函数关联,提出了一种建立城市空气质量趋势面的方法。实验结果表明,该方法不仅能定性地表现出城市不同区域的相对空气质量,也可定量、细粒度地展示城市空气质量情况。  相似文献
