By use of the dispersion equation given by Song, Wu, and Dryer (1987) for a cylinder plasma with mass motion and gravity included, we investigate the linear current instabilities developed in loop prominences. The results indicate that the mode of linear instability depends mainly on whetherv s 2 > or not, wherev s is the sonic velocity at heightz, =GM/(R +z) is the gravity potential,G the gravitational constant,M andR the mass and the radius of the Sun respectively. Ifv s 2 > , then the sausage instability will be dominant. Otherwise, the kink instability will be more important. A possible explanation of knot structure, which appears sometimes in solar loop prominences has been given.  相似文献

The linearized theory for the parallel propagation of magnetoacoustic-gravity surface waves is developed for an interface of a horizontal magnetic field above a field-free medium. The media either side of the interface are taken to be isothermal. The dispersion relation is obtained for the case of a constant Alfvén speed. In the absence of gravity the interface may support one or two surface modes, determined by the relative temperatures and magnetism of the two media. The effect of gravity on the modes is examined and dispersion diagrams and eigenfunctions are given. In the usual - k x diagnostic diagram, the domain of evanescence is shown to be divided into two distinct regions determining whether a given mode will have a decaying or growing vertical velocity component. In the absence of a magnetic field the transcendental dispersion relation may be rewritten as a polynomial. This polynomial possesses two acceptable solutions only one of which may exist in any given circumstances (depending on the ratio of the densities). If the gas density within the field exceeds that in the field-free medium, then the f-mode may propagate. The f-mode exists in a restricted band of horizontal wavenumber and only when the field-free medium is warmer than the magnetic atmosphere. An analytical form for the wave speed of the f-mode is obtained for small values of the Alfvén speed. It is shown that the f-mode is related to the fast magnetoacoustic surface wave, merging into that mode at short wavelengths.  相似文献

This paper examines the observational evidence for the detectionof gravity modes in Scuti stars, which are p-mode pulsators.Low-order gravity modes have also been found in at least one star (FG Vir). Some reports of gravity modes may be due to systematic errors in theabsolute magnitude calibrations for slowly rotating stars. Furthermore, many detected low frequencies are not high-order gravity modes, but linear combinations,f i -f j , of the main pulsation modes. Other low frequencies are caused bya close binary companion leading to tidal deformation as well as tidallyexcited gravity modes.  相似文献

The adiabatic theory of interaction between high and low frequency waves has been studied for the case of electron plasma oscillations and ion acoustic waves and the results are applied to the solar wind. The modified dispersion relation for ion acoustic waves has been derived, taking a Gaussian distribution for plasmons. Two limiting cases of the spectrum are studied. For a broad spectrum, the plasma turbulence has a destabilising effect by introducing a growth rate denoted by turbulence, which is positive for k 0 > (m e/ m i )1/2 De –1 , k 0 being the central wave numger of the spectrum, De the electron Debye length. Also, even for v d(drift velocity between electrons and ions) < c s, we arrive at unstable ion acoustic modes. For narrow spectrum, the plasma turbulence has a stabilising effect.  相似文献

The properties of wave propagation in a perfectly electrically conducting, plane-stratified, inviscid, compressible atmosphere premeated by a horizontal magnetic field which varies with height are investigated. It is shown that a diagnostic diagram can be constructed through a generalization of the propagation equation to account for the presence of a magnetic field. The effect of the magnetic field on the oscillations in solar plages around the temperature minimum is studied and compared with the non-magnetic case based on the Bilderberg Continuum Atmosphere. Due to the joint action of ionization and the magnetic field, a potential well for internal gravity waves is formed. The properties of the trapped waves are in qualitative agreement with the observations. The Brunt-Väisälä frequencies in the presence (N) and absence (N 0) of the magnetic field around the temperature minimum are shown to obey the relation N/N 0 (1 + 2)–1/2, where is the ratio between the Alfvén and the sonic speeds. The modified Brunt-Väisälä frequency (N) is decreased as the strength of the magnetic field increases. The magnetic effect makes the potential well shallower, thus shrinking the domain for the trapped gravity modes.  相似文献

Chandrasekhar'sH-functionH(z) corresponding to the dispersion functionT(z)=| rs frs(z)|, where [f rs (z)] is of rank 1, is obtained in terms of a Cauchy integral whose density functionQ(x, 1, 2,...) can be approximated by approximating polynomials (uniformly converging toQ(x)) having their coefficients expressed as known functions of the parameters r 's. A closed form approximation ofH(z) to a sufficiently high degree of accuracy is then readily available by term by term integration.  相似文献

In this paper we present exact solutions to the density perturbation equation derived by Bonnor for the cases where = c ,k=1 and = – c ,k=–1. The solutions when =0,k=1 and =0,k=–1 have been previously published. Using these solutions a quantitative analysis has been carried out that has enabled us to estimate the size of the fluctuations that must be postulated at decoupling in order to explain the formation of the galaxies in these model universes.  相似文献

The diagramV - log(1 +z e ) as function of (, ) is considered for the quasars. HereV is the apparent visual magnitude,z e is the emission line redshift, and are the equatorial coordinates. Two opposite extreme spots NE and SE are observed on the sky, where the inclination of the straight line fitting the dependenceV - log(1 +z e ) is maximum and minimum. The coordinates of the centres of these extreme spots are ( NE, NE) = (282°, +42°) and ( SE, SE) = (70°, -38°) with errors 5°. A hypothesis of the Superattractor (SA) is proposed to explain such an effect. Two independent tests of this hypothesis are realized. First, the dependence or the frequency a of the absorbers in QSO spectra on (, ) is investigated. A region of the larger a is found. The coordinates of its centre are (, ) = (82°, - 10°) with error 5°. Second, the cases ofz a >z e are plotted in the Mercatorial projection (, ). The most of the casesz -z e > 0.02 are concentrated within the circle with radiusR = 34° and centre (, ) = (50°, - 15°). The both anomalous regions overlap the Southern extreme spot around SE. The SA direction is (, ) = (67°, -21°) with errors about 12°. The redshift of SA isz SA = 1.7 ± 0.3 that corresponds to the distancer SA = (3100 ± 300)h –1 Mpc for the Hubble constantH 0 = 75h kms–1 Mpc–1. The SA mass isM SA ~ 1018-1020 M . The orientation of the normal to the quasiperiodical large-scale sheet structure on the sky occurs near SA.  相似文献

Cosmic acceleration is investigated through a kink-like expression for the deceleration parameter (q). The new parametrization depends on the initial (qi) and final (qf) values of q, on the redshift of the transition from deceleration to acceleration (zt) and the width of such transition (τ). We show that although supernovae (SN) observations (Gold182 and SNLS data samples) indicate, at high confidence, that a transition occurred in the past (zt > 0) they do not, by themselves, impose strong constraints on the maximum value of zt. However, when we combine SN with the measurements of the ratio between the comoving distance to the last scattering surface and the SDSS + 2dfGRS BAO distance scale (Sk/Dv) we obtain, at 95.4% confidence level, and for (Sk/Dv+Gold182), and and for (Sk/Dv+SNLS), assuming qi = 0.5 and qf = −1. We also analyze the general case, qf  (−∞, 0) finding the constraints that the combined tests (Sk/Dv+SNLS) impose on the present value of the deceleration parameter (q0).  相似文献

Extensive tables of the values ofH-functionsH 0(z, ) andH 1 0 (z, ) appropriate for the problems of radiative transfer in multiplying media characterized by >1, have been constructed correctly to the sixth decimal place for values of in the range 1.05–10. This accuracy has been attained with the aid of a 32-point Gaussian quadrature.  相似文献

The thermosolutal instability of a plasma in porous medium in the presence of a vertical magnetic field is considered to include the effects of compressibility and Hall currents. The effects of stable solute gradient and compressibility are found to be stabilizing and the Hall currents have a destabilizing effect. The system is stable for (C p/g)<1;C p, , andg denoting specific heat at constant pressure, uniform temperature gradient, and acceleration due to gravity, respectively. In contrast to the non-oscillatory modes in the absence of magnetic field and stable solute gradient, the presence of magnetic field (and, hence, Hall currents) and stable solute gradient introduce oscillatory modes for (C p/g)>1. The case of overstability is also studied wherein the necessary conditions for the existence of overstability are obtained.  相似文献

In this article we study the conditions for obtaining canonical transformationsy=f(x) of the phase space, wherey(y 1,y 2,...,y 2n ) andx(x 1,x 2,...,x 2m ) in such a way that the number of variables is increased. In particular, this study is applied to the rotational motion in functions of the Eulerian parameters (q 0,q 1,q 2,q 3) and their conjugate momenta (Q 0,Q 1,Q 2,Q 3) or in functions of complex variables (z 1,z 2,z 3,z 4) and their conjugate momenta (Z 1,Z 2,Z 3,Z 4) defined by means of the previous variables. Finally, our article include some properties on the rotational motion of a rigid body moving about a fixed point.  相似文献

The stability of the origin of an autonomous Hamiltonian system is investigated when the system possesses a third or fourth-order resonance.H 2, the quadratic part ofH isH 2=n i=1 i J i and the resonance condition is n i=1 k i i where thek 0,i = 1, 2, ...,n are the natural or fundamental frequencies. It is shown that the only case in which the origin can be unstable is ifk i0,i=1,2,...,n. The condition for instability is then given in terms of the coefficients of the higher order terms in the Hamiltonian. The transfer of energy between modes is also investigated when a near-resonant condition exists.  相似文献

One-armedglobal oscillations in a non-selfgravitating polytropic disk rotating around a star are investigated. The unperturbed disk is axisymmetric, geometrically thin, and extends infinitely in the radial direction keeping its thickness constant. Perturbations considered are inviscid and adiabatic. It is found that there are one-armed retrograde wave modes which are trapped in an inner region of the disk. The eignefrequency of the lowest order mode is given by K(r s)(z 0/r s)2, wherer s is the radius of the central star,z 0 is the half-thickness of the disk, and K(r s) is the Keplerian angular frequency at the surface of the star.Paper presented at the IAU Third Asian-Pacific Regional Meeting, held in Kyoto, Japan, between 30 September–6 October, 1984.  相似文献

In this paper I present a new evolution model of QSOs luminosity. The model is based on edges distribution of apparent magnitude-redshift of QSOs. After the quasars were formed, the luminosities were increasing until they attained their maximum value atz=2+a, where –0.1a0.6, then the luminosities were decreasing. If the QSOs originate from superconducting cosmic string of same initial massM i 1012 M , the formation epochs are different, most of the quasars start atz cutoff5.6. The most luminous QSOs start at later epochz cutoff5.15. The present sky survey echniques may give us the possibility to see the formation of QSOs at apparent magnitudem V 22.5 by chance of 0.3%.  相似文献

We study the dispersion characteristics of fast MHD surface waves travelling on a plasma slab immersed in a complex magnetic field consisting of a large longitudinal B 0z component and a small sheared B 0y component. The analysis shows that for typical coronal conditions both the sausage and kink waves are generally pseudo-surface waves. The tangential magnetic field, B 0y , modifies the dispersion curves, and for sufficiently large sheared fields there is a transition from pseudo-surface to pure-surface fast kink waves. On leave from Faculty of Physics, Sofia University, BG-1126 Sofia, Bulgaria.  相似文献
