Systematic development of a new hysteretic damper based on torsional yielding: part I—design and development 下载免费PDF全文
Analytical and experimental studies into the behavior of a new hysteretic damper, designed for seismic protection of structures is presented in two papers. Although the subject matter of the papers is a specific system, they are also intended as an illustration of practical application of diverse engineering tools in systematic development of an anti‐seismic product. The Multi‐directional Torsional Hysteretic Damper (MTHD) is a recently patented invention in which a symmetrical arrangement of identical cylindrical steel energy dissipaters is configured to yield in torsion while the structure experiences planar movements due to earthquake shakings. The device has gone through many stages of design refinement, prototype verification tests and development of design guidelines and computer codes to facilitate its implementation in practice. The first of this two‐part paper summarizes the development stages of the new system, conceptual and analytical. The experimental phase of the research is the focus of the accompanying paper. The new device has certain desirable properties. Notably, it is characterized by a variable and controllable‐via‐design or adaptive post‐elastic stiffness. This feature gives the isolated structure the capability to evade the dominant period of the ground motion leading to reduced displacements while having force levels comparable to regular bilinear isolation systems. Nonlinear static (pushover) analysis has become a popular tool during the last decade for the seismic assessment of buildings. Nevertheless, its main advantage of lower computational cost compared to nonlinear dynamic time‐history analysis (THA) is counter‐balanced by its inherent restriction to structures wherein the fundamental mode dominates the response. Extension of the pushover approach to consider higher modes effects has attracted attention, but such work has hitherto focused mainly on buildings, while corresponding work on bridges has been very limited. Hence, the aim of this study is to adapt the modal pushover analysis procedure for the assessment of bridges, and investigate its applicability in the case of an existing, long and curved, bridge, designed according to current seismic codes; this bridge is assessed using three nonlinear static analysis methods, as well as THA. Comparative evaluation of the calculated response of the bridge illustrates the applicability and potential of the modal pushover method for bridges, and quantifies its relative accuracy compared to that obtained through other inelastic methods. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of lead rubber isolators on the seismic response of bridges designed
according to current codes for two different soil conditions: hard and medium type soils, in order to assess their applicability
for the design of new bridges or retrofit of existing ones. The study was conducted for two levels of earthquake, one corresponding
to a return period of 50 years and a service limit state, the other with a return period of 1,000 years and a failure limit
state. Twenty one subduction earthquake records on the two types of soil were used to evaluate the linear and nonlinear dynamic
response of a set of bridges designed for this purpose with and without base isolation. The response parameters evaluated
are the maximum relative displacement on top of the piers, the maximum pier distortion, the maximum shear forces in the piers
and the ductility demands for the isolators. The results presented are the average of these maxima for the various earthquakes.
This study is an expansion of a previous one in which the seismic response of 36 bridges considering models with and without
base isolators, structures with linear base isolators and bridges with nonlinear isolators. The results of this study confirm
the conclusions previously obtained and show that the isolation can have beneficial effects even for bridges located in medium

生命线基础设施抗震安全对我国防震减灾与抗震救灾工作具有重要意义,铁路桥梁更是关乎人员转移与物质运输的安全与稳定。基于地震区铁路桥梁震害资料分析和震害调查研究,结合我国铁路桥梁抗震设计工作的经验、教训及相关科研成果,我国陆续出版了3本《铁路工程抗震设计规范》。文章回顾我国铁路桥梁抗震设计规范60年的发展历程,对我国开展铁路桥梁抗震设计工作的历史时期进行划分;通过对比和总结1977、1987、2009年颁布的《铁路工程抗震设计规范》中的铁路桥梁部分,发现该系列规范的发展逐步体现了基于性能的设计理念,场地分类更加精细,地震作用考虑更为科学,且对于铁路桥梁的抗震构造措施有了更加明确的规定。研究可为改进和完善地震区铁路桥梁震害预测方法提供参考依据。 相似文献

As one of the main load-carrying components of cable-stayed bridges,bridge towers are typically required to remain elastic even when subjected to severe ground motions with a 2%-3%probability of exceedance in 50 years.To fulfill this special requirement imposed by current seismic design codes,reinforcement ratios in the bridge towers have to be kept significantly higher than if limited ductility behavior of the tower is allowed.In addition,since the foundation capacity is closely related to the moment and shear capacities of the bridge tower,a large increase in bridge construction cost for elastically designed cable-stayed bridge is inevitable.To further investigate the possibility of limited ductility bridge tower design strategies,a new 1/20-scale cable-stayed bridge model with H-shaped bridge towers designed according to strong strut-weak tower column design was tested.The shake table experimental results are compared with a previous strong tower column-weak strut designed full bridge model.A comparison of the results show that ductility design with plastic hinges located on tower columns,i.e.,strong strut-weak tower column design,is another effective seismic design strategy that results in only small residual displacement at the top of the tower column,even under very severe earthquake excitations. 相似文献

从20世纪90年代起,研究人员就开始探索活动断层探察数据的制作、存储与管理。迄今为止,已经获得了大量的活动断层探察数据,建成了一套系统的数据组织体系,为减轻地震灾害的相关研究提供了数据和技术支撑。近年来,随着活动断层数据库信息的扩充,初期设计的部分属性信息编码已不适用。为了形成适应当前工作的属性信息编码体系,本文以活动断层数据库建设体系为基础,对数据库属性值代码进行信息分类和编码优化。文章将数据库属性值代码分为字符型单一含义值、数值型单一含义值及复合含义值,分别进行编码规则设计,最终优化了数据库属性信息编码体系,提高了从建库到数据应用的数据录入、检测、制图自动化、数据分析等环节的效率。 相似文献

In the paper the seismic response of different variants of the three-story reinforced concrete frame structure SPEAR is compared.
The basic structure is representative of building practice before the adoption of seismic codes. This structure has been compared
with four modified variants, which were designed partly or completely in accordance with the Eurocode family of standards.
For seismic assessment the practice-oriented nonlinear N2 method was used. The results demonstrate the low seismic resistance
of buildings designed for gravity loads only. On the other hand, the advantages of new standards are clearly apparent. By
taking into account the requirements of Eurocode 8 it is possible to ensure adequate strength, stiffness and ductility. By
means of capacity design it is possible to ensure a global plastic mechanism. All these characteristics contribute to the
high seismic resistance of structures designed according to Eurocode 8 and to their satisfactory behaviour during earthquakes. 相似文献

The seismic conceptual design is an essential part of seismic design codes. It points out that the term "seismic conceptual design" should imply three aspects,i.e.,the given concept itself,the specific provisions related to the given concept and the designing following the provisions. Seismic conceptual design can be classified into two categories: the strict or traditional seismic conceptual design and the generalized seismic conceptual design. The authors are trying to define for both conceptual designs their connotations and study their characteristics,in particular,the differences between them. Authors emphasize that both conceptual designs sound very close,however,their differences are apparent. The strict conceptual designs are usually worked out directly from engineering practice and/or lessons learnt from earthquake damage,while the generalized conceptual designs are resulted in a series of visions aiming to realize the general objectives of the seismic codes. The strict conceptual designs,(traditional conceptual designs) are indispensable elements of seismic codes in assuring designed structures safer and the generalized conceptual designs are playing key roles in directing to a more advanced and effective seismic codes. 相似文献
