在回顾了近年来热带气旋波动动力学研究的基础上,介绍了热带气旋内中尺度波动不稳定机理研究方面的进展,分别对热带气旋三类中尺度特征波动的不稳定,即经典重力惯性波、涡旋Rossby波和具有物理性质不可分的混合波的不稳定进行了物理分析,给出了热带气旋内对称不稳定、横波不稳定、对流对称不稳定、涡旋Rossby波正压不稳定及混合波不稳定的动力解释,进一步说明热带气旋内中尺度扰动发展是与基本气流的动力(水平和垂直切变)及热力状态之间的相互作用密切相关。  相似文献

根据热带地区蒸发、辐合上升运动剧烈以及海温异常的特点,构造了一个斜压模式方程组,讨论了海表温度(海温加热和海温异常变化)对热带低频波动的影响。分析表明,对天气尺度波动(Lx~Ly~10^6m),采用完全非地转模式,在海温异常作用下,频率明显发生变化,并容易产生波动的不稳定:海温较低时,波稳定,并随海温的增高,频率变低,波速变慢;海温较高时,会引起波动不稳定,且周期随海温的增高而变小。对超长波系统(Lx~10^7m,L,~10^6m),可以采用半地转模式,海温作用可以激发向东传播的低频Kelvin波以及向西传播的低频Rossby波,热带超常波的波动周期随海温升高和异常增大而变长,且在海温异常作用下,波动会产生不稳定。  相似文献

在一个简化的二层模式中,求解大气波动方程,得到了二维波状起伏地形上扰动流线的分析解。研究了在上、下两层大气中,不同的温度廓线和风速廓线情况下,地形引起扰动的流场形式,同时讨论了支配扰动振幅的大气因子和地形特征。分析解的结果表明:若大气低层为深厚的不稳定层,地形引起的波动很微弱;如低层大气强稳定,上层大气弱稳定,则可能产生较强的波动;而当上层稳定度增加时,可产生非陷波,有利于高层动量下传,造成较大的地面风速。  相似文献

使用纬向线性以及非线性切变基流下中尺度扰动的Boussinesq近似方程组,讨论了两种典型的中尺度扰动发生对称不稳定或者横波不稳定时,其不稳定的一些特征以及扰动的波动性质。研究结果表明:(1)对于扰动的等位相面平行于基本气流方向的对称性扰动来说,对称不稳定的波动实质是沿着与基本气流方向相垂直的方向传播的重力惯性内波的不稳定。基流二次切变对于中尺度对称扰动来说是一个不稳定因子,并且驱动不稳定的中尺度对称扰动在南北方向传播;(2)对于扰动的等位相面垂直于基本气流方向的横波性扰动来说,在基本气流为常数或者只具有线性切变的情况下,此时根本不存在涡旋Rossby波,横波不稳定的波动实质则是沿着基本气流方向双向传播的重力惯性内波的不稳定。如果考虑基本流场的风速存在二次切变或者非线性切变时,此时就会产生一支新的波动(涡旋Rossby波),涡旋Rossby波相对于基本气流^-U0是单向传播的,涡旋Rossby波产生的物理根源是基本流场的风速^-U二次切变(β*=^-Uzz≠0),此时横波型不稳定可能是混合的涡旋Rossby——重力波的不稳定。实际大气中,涡旋Rossby波对于中够尺度对流云核、暴雨团等天气系统的发生、发展和演变的物理机制具有极其重要的意义。  相似文献

讨论了维向切变流中的非线性对称不稳定问题。中采用绝热无粘的非线性对称扰动方程组,利用多尺度摄动方法分析其不稳定波动的有限振幅特性。研究结果表明:不稳定波的有限振幅在强度上呈现出振荡趋势。无论是超临界切变情况,还是次临界切变情况,对称扰动振幅都随时间呈现出周期性的变化,振荡周期的大小不仅与基本场稳定度参数及波的特性有关,而且还与初始扰动的振幅及其增长率有关。  相似文献

本文从无粘、非绝热的Boussinesq方程出发,凝结加热参数化采用Emanuel的Wave-CISK方案,研究了在考虑凝结加热时β中尺度非线性不稳定问题,发现潜热释放会加强不稳定,且其作用时段在不稳定发展的中后期;非线性作用使得波形发生变化,也改变了波动的传播速度。  相似文献

夜间边界层内的温度时空特征决定了边界层的稳定性。由于稳定边界层的间歇性和复杂性,模式在夜间的参数化方案还不完善,研究夜间边界层的温度变化有助于改进模式在夜间的表现。本文利用四座在不同下垫面上的气象塔的数据,研究了夜间边界层中的温度波动。研究表明,无论是海边、草原还是沙漠下垫面,夜间形成的稳定边界层中,振幅大约2摄氏度,周期在数分钟的温度波动非常频繁地出现。而在北京,由于城市下垫面较大的热容量和人为热源使得稳定边界层不容易形成,温度波动也较弱。用布朗特维萨拉频率代表的静力稳定度是影响温度脉动强弱的重要因子。  相似文献

采用两层大气模式,通过求解线性化大气动力学—热力学方程组,得到在上层稳定层结覆盖的不稳定大气边界层中,简单三维地形引起的地形波及其波动阻力的解析表达式。讨论了地形及大气条件对地形波及波动阻力的影响。结果表明:即使在大气低层为不稳定边界层时,三维地形引起的波动在大气动量平衡中仍可起明显作用。  相似文献

对蒸发-风反馈的作用进行了简单动力学研究。结果表明,蒸发-风反馈不能像波动-CISK那样改变热带大气波动的性质,不可能单独成为激发热带大气内振荡的动力学机制。在积云对流加热的蒸发-风反馈的共同作用下,CISK-Kelvin波和CISK-Rossby波可以不稳定发展,共同作用比单独和积云对流加热反馈作用能更全面合理地解释热带大气内振荡的活动。  相似文献

In a two-and-a-half-layer quasi-geostrophic model, a process study is conducted on the interaction between a vortex and a zonal jet, both with constant potential vorticity. The vortex is a stable anticyclone, initially located north of the eastward jet. The potential vorticity of the jet is allowed to have various vertical structures, while the vortex is concentrated in only one layer. The flow parameters are set to values characteristic of the Azores region.First, the jet is stable. Weak vortices steadily drift north of the jet without crossing it while strong vortices can cross the jet and tear off a cyclone with which they pair as a heton (baroclinic dipole). This heton often breaks later in the shear exerted by the jet; the two vortices finally drift apart. When crossed by deep anticyclones, the jet develops meanders with 375 km wavelength. These results exhibit a noticeable similarity with the one-and-a-half-layer case studied in Part I.Secondly, the jet is allowed to be linearly unstable. In the absence of the vortex, it develops meanders with 175 km wavelength and 25-day e-folding time on the β-plane. For various vertical structures of the jet, baroclinic instability is shown to barely affect jet–vortex interaction if the linear growth rate of unstable waves is smaller than 1/(14 days). Further simulations with a linearly unstable, nonlinearly equilibrated jet evidence its strong temporal variability when crossed by a deep vortex on the β-plane. In particular, long waves can dominate the spectrum for a few months after jet crossing by the vortex. Again in this process, the deep vortex couples with a surface cyclone and both drift southwestward.  相似文献

本文推导出柱坐标系下含有粘性摩擦项的正压方程组。选取2005年台风麦莎登陆浙江过程中的8月6日15时的WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting)模式输出资料,利用数值差分方法对该正压方程组求特征波解,分析粘性摩擦对台风麦莎内部正压特征波动的影响。结果表明,重力惯性外波在粘性摩擦的影响下,最不稳定波的波数为45左右,波动在摩擦的影响下衰减,波动沿逆时针传播,在半径1000 km处,1波波速为47.43 m/s,在半径r>800 km的范围内,径向风分量扰动加大,辐合辐散运动增强;而摩擦影响下的涡旋Rossby波,2波最不稳定,波动增长率减小,在半径r=200 km处波动相速度为4.282~29.172 m/s,扰动涡度大值区范围减小,涡旋Rossby波的波动区域沿着径向向台风中心收缩。分析包含所有波动时,考虑摩擦后,最不稳定波数在45左右且波动衰减,1波波速在r=1000 km处(外螺旋雨带)为26.374 m/s;在半径r=200 km(内螺旋雨带)为5.275 m/s,考虑径向基本气流后,最不稳定波的波数保持不变,半径r=1000 km处的波速增加为30.324 m/s,r=200 km(内螺旋雨带)处波速为6.065 m/s,摩擦使得径向风分量扰动明显增大,辐合辐散运动加强。  相似文献

本文利用2012~2015年西南涡加密观测大气科学实验的剑阁、金川、九龙和名山四站探空资料,统计分析了6~7月西南涡活动期间对流层中、高层(6~12 km)的重力波过程,结果表明:青藏高原东部川西高原南部的九龙站与其余三站不同,重力波源主要来自对流层上层,波能传播方向向上,剑阁、金川和名山三站重力的波源主要来自对流层下层,波能传播方向向下。重力波过程在不同类型的西南涡活动中有明显差异,在移出型西南涡活动初期,重力波水平传播方向主要为东北向,其上传概率远大于下传概率,波动的动能和潜能较大且变化剧烈;而对应源地型西南涡,初期主要呈西北—东南向传播且重力波上传与下传概率相当,动能和潜能较小且变化相对平缓同时本次研究表明,重力波水平传播方向对西南涡的移动方向也有一定指示作用。按照发生时刻本文将重力波分为日发型重力波和夜发型重力波,在夜发型西南涡初期,重力波活动夜发(北京时20:00~08:00)的概率较大,这表明重力波的夜发性与西南涡的夜发性可能存在一定关联。  相似文献

Monopolar vortices are studied in the framework of the quasigeostrophic two-layer equations. Steady, eastward-travelling vortex solutions with a baroclinic vertical structure and closed streamlines in both layers are obtained' by perturbation analysis. The radial profile is essentially arbitrary in the region of closed streamlines. Westward-travelling vortices with a similar structure radiate barotropic waves, and are therefore unsteady. The propagation velocity of the vortices is essentially determined by the ‘hetonic’ mechanism, i.e. by the horizontal shift between the upper and lower-layer vortices. Their dynamics are studied qualitatively, and it is concluded that eastward-travelling vortices are stable, whereas those travelling westward are unstable.  相似文献

Dynamic and Numerical Study of Waves in the Tibetan Plateau Vortex   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
In terms of its dynamics, The Tibetan Plateau Vortex (TPV) is assumed to be a vortex in the botmdary layer forced by diabatic heating and friction. In order to analyze the basic characteristics of waves in the vortex, the governing equations for the vortex were established in column coordinates with the balance of gradient wind. Based on this, the type of mixed waves and their dispersion characteristics were deduced by solving the linear model. Two numerical simulations with triple-nested domains--one idealized large-eddy simulation and one of a TPV that took place on 14 August 2006---were also carried out. The aim of the simulations was to validate the mixed wave deduced from the governing equations. The high-resolution model output data were analyzed and the results showed that the tangential flow field of the TPV in the form of center heating was cyclonic and convergent in the lower levels and anticyclonic and divergent in the upper levels. The simulations also showed that the vorticity of the vortex is uneven and might have shear flow along the radial direction. The changing vorticity causes the formation and spreading of vortex Rossby (VR) waves, and divergence will cause changes to the n~otion of the excitation and evolution of inertial gravity (IG) waves. Therefore, the vortex may contain what we call mixed :inertial gravity-vortex Rossby (IG-VR) waves. It is suggested that some strongly developed TPVs should be studied in the future, because of their effects on weather in downstream areas.  相似文献

The evolution of spiral-band-like structures triggered by asymmetric heating in three tropical-cyclone-like vortices of different intensities is examined using the Three-Dimensional Vortex Perturbation Analyzer and Simulator (3DVPAS) model. To simulate the spiral bands, asymmetric thermal perturbations are imposed on the radius of maximum wind (RMW) of vortices, which can be considered as the location near the eyewall of real tropical cyclones (TCs). All the three vortices experience a hydrostatic adjustment after the introduction of thermal asymmetries. It takes more time for weaker and stable vortices to finish such a process. The spiral-band-like structures, especially those distant from the vortex centers, form and evolve accompanying this process. In the quasi-balance state, the spiral bands are gradually concentrated to the inner core, the wave behavior of which resembles the features of classic vortex Rossby (VR) waves. The unstable vortices regain nonhydrostatic features after the quasi-balance stage. The spiral bands further from the vortex center, similar to distant spiral bands in real TCs, form and maintain more easily in the moderate basic-state vortex, satisfying the conditions of barotropic instability. The widest radial extent and longest-lived distant bands always exist in weak and stable vortices. This study represents an attempt to determine the role of TC intensity and stability in the formation and evolution of spiral bands via hydrostatic balance adjustment, and provides some valuable insights into the formation of distant spiral rainbands.  相似文献

Using 1958-2002 NCEPNCAR reanalysis data, we investigate stationary and transient planetary wave propagation and its role in wave-mean flow interaction which influences the state of the polar vortex (PV) in the stratosphere in Northern Hemisphere (NH) winter. This is done by analyzing the Eliassen-Palm (E-P) flux and its divergence. We find that the stationary and transient waves propagate upward and equatorward in NH winter, with stronger upward propagation of stationary waves from the troposphere to the stratosphere, and stronger equatorward propagation of transient waves from mid-latitudes to the subtropics in the troposphere. Stationary waves exhibit more upward propagation in the polar stratosphere during the weak polar vortex regime (WVR) than during the strong polar vortex regime (SVR). On the other hand, transient waves have more upward propagation during SVR than during WVR in the subpolar stratosphere, with a domain of low frequency waves. With different paths of upward propagation, both stationary and transient waves contribute to the maintenance of the observed stratospheric PV regimes in NH winter.  相似文献

基于WRF模式对2011年6月16—19日一次东移西南涡过程的模拟,开展了西南涡激发平流层重力波的特征研究。东移西南涡可以分为发展、强盛和减弱3个阶段,每个阶段均伴随着强降雨天气,但由于降水位置和强度的不同,平流层重力波的分布和强度也不同。西南涡发展阶段,平流层重力波主要位于低涡的东侧,并向东北传播;西南涡强盛阶段,伴随对流降水的强度和范围明显增大,平流层重力波的振幅和范围也显著增大,且围绕西南涡的东侧和南侧呈现出半环状的重力波分布特征可分为两支,东侧波动波列表现为东北西南向分布,南侧的波列表现为东—西向分布;西南涡减弱阶段,重力波的振幅和范围均减小。波谱分析表明,重力波的纬向波数频率谱关于零频率呈非对称分布,且随着西南涡的增强,波谱在小尺度范围显著增大,即强对流更容易激发出小尺度的高频波;经向波数频率谱在波数较小谱段关于零频率基本呈对称分布,但在波数较大谱段,也呈非对称分布,这说明受平流层东风气流的影响,重力波主要向东传播。  相似文献

Diabatic heating by convection in the eyewall often produces an annular region of high potential vorticity (PV) around the relatively low PV eye in a strong tropical cyclone (TC). Such a PV ring is barotropically unstable and can encourage the exponential growth of PV waves. In this study, such instability and the subsequent nonlinear evolution of three TC-like vortices having PV rings with different degrees of hollowness on an f-plane are first examined using an unforced, inviscid shallow-water-equation model. Results show that the simulated eyewalls evolve similarly to those in the nondivergent barotropic model. It is also found that the polygonal eyewall structure can be decomposed into vortex Rossby waves (VRWs) of different wavenumbers with different amplitudes, allowing for wave-wave interactions to produce complicated behaviors of mesovortices in the TC eyewall. The same set of PV rings has been examined on a beta-plane. Although the beta effect has been rendered unimportant to the eyewall evolution due to the relatively small scale of the inner-core circulation, this study shows that the beta effect may erode the coherent structure of mesovortices in the eyewall of an initially hollow PV-ring vortex. Mesovortices modeled on the beta-plane with a greater beta parameter tend to experience an earlier breakdown and enhanced radial gradients of the basic-state (azimuthally mean) angular velocity, followed by wave-wave, wave-flow interactions, leading to earlier merger and axisymmetrization processes. This result implies that the beta effect could be one of the forcings that shorten the lifetime of quasi-steady mesovortices in the eyewall of real TCs.  相似文献

An asymptotic solution of inviscid Boussinesq equations for a ‘dry convective Rankine vortex’ with prescribed buoyant forcing is given. The obtained vortex solution demonstrates monotonic growth with height of the vortex core radius, which becomes infinite at a certain critical altitude, and the corresponding attenuation of the vertical vorticity. This idealized vortex is then embedded in a convectively unstable boundary layer; the resulting approximate vortex solution has been applied to determine the maximum rotational wind speed and diameter of dry convective dust-devil-like vortices.  相似文献
