The problem of tracking the directions-of-arrival (DOAs) of multiple moving sonar targets with an array of passive sensors is complicated by sensor movement. An algorithm for the joint tracking of source DOAs and sensor positions is presented to address this problem. Initial maximum-likelihood estimates of source DOAs and sensor positions are refined by Kalman filtering. Spatio-temporally correlated array movement is considered. Source angle dynamics are used to achieve correct data association. The new technique is capable of performing well for the difficult cases of sources that cross in angle as well as for fully coherent sources. Computer simulations show that the approach is robust in the presence of array motion modeling uncertainty and effectively reduces dependence on expensive and possibly unreliable hardware  相似文献

将Argo浮标资料与卫星遥感再分析数据相结合,调用基于抛物方程算法的RAM(Range-dependent Acoustic Model)模型,研究了2012年第14号台风“天秤”对不完整深海声道(3 000 m)和完整深海声道(5 500 m)两种水深条件下声传播特性的影响。结果显示:台风对海水的影响局限于表层水体,具体为混合层加厚,混合层内温度梯度接近于零,声速在混合层内正梯度分布;混合层下方一定深度的水体增温,相应的声速也增大。声源在混合层内时,主要对海表层的声传播产生影响,两种水深条件下均出现表面波导声传播模式以及泄漏模式。声源在混合层以下时,不完整深海声道条件下台风使得会聚区向着声源方向靠近;完整深海声道条件下台风对会聚区的位置影响不明显,但声波的翻转深度增加近500 m。  相似文献

Owing to the multipath effect, the source localization in shallow water has been an area of active interest. However, most methods for source localization in shallow water are sensitive to the assumed model of the underwater environment and have poor robustness against the underwater channel uncertainty, which limit their further application in practical engineering. In this paper, a new method of source localization in shallow water, based on vector optimization concept, is described, which is highly robust against environmental factors affecting the localization, such as the channel depth, the bottom reflection coefficients, and so on. Through constructing the uncertainty set of the source vector errors and extracting the multi-path sound rays from the sea surface and bottom, the proposed method can accurately localize one or more sources in shallow water dominated by multipath propagation. It turns out that the natural formulation of our approach involves minimization of two quadratic functions subject to infinitely many nonconvex quadratic constraints. It shows that this problem (originally intractable) can be reformulated in a convex form as the so-called second-order cone program (SOCP) and solved efficiently by using the well-established interior point method, such as the software tool, SeDuMi. Computer simulations show better performance of the proposed method as compared with existing algorithms and establish a theoretical foundation for the practical engineering application.  相似文献

It is shown that the performance of a conventional matched filter can be improved if the reference (replica) channel compensates for the distortion by the ocean medium. A model-based matched filter is generated by correlating the received signal with a reference channel that consists of the transmitted signal convolved with the impulse response of the medium. The channel impulse responses are predicted with a broadband propagation model using in situ sound speed measured data and archival bottom loss data. The relative performance of conventional and model-based matched filter processing is compared for large time-bandwidth-product linear-frequency-modulated signals propagating in a dispersive waveguide. From ducted propagation measurements conducted in an area west of Sardinia, the model-based matched filter localizes the depths of both the source and receiving array and the range between them. 低盐透镜现象是珠江口陆架海域常见的一种中尺度现象,它的出现会影响水下声传播环境。利用南海北部陆架区的CTD资料分析了低盐透镜的结构特征,基于简正波和射线模型,建立二维波导环境,设置不同声源条件,对低盐透镜环境的声传播特性进行了研究。结果表明:低盐透镜会在海水上层形成声道,距离15 km处其传播损失较没有低盐透镜的情况小约15 dB。虽然低盐透镜声道厚度通常较小,但是较大的盐度梯度可以保证声道对声能的有效传播。当频率高于截止频率的声源置于低盐透镜内,声道效应有助于声音的远距离传播。  相似文献

应用WOA13季节平均数据和BELLHOP模型,在季节、声源频率、声源深度和掠射角等因素确定的情况下,分析北大西洋冬季(1-3月)声道轴深度、最小声速值、表层声速值的分布,通过仿真计算研究选用位置点5 m深度声源的声传播规律:反转深度随纬度升高而降低,低纬度海岭东西两侧差别不大,15°N以北为西侧大于东侧。55°N以南海区可形成汇聚区波导,海岭西侧的汇聚区跨度大于海岭东侧,有混合层时还存在一定强度的表面波导,汇聚区处5 m、100 m和250 m接收深度上的传播损失差异较小,增益为7~19 dB,55°N以北海区则为有焦散结构的表面波导。以北大西洋35°N为界,以南以汇聚区波导探测有利,以北以表面波导探测有利。  相似文献

Two qualitative results concerning statistical sonar signal processing and acoustic field matching are obtained. First, normal-mode field predictions are integrated with statistical signature analysis by constructing a boundary-value problem in the acoustic waveguide. From this construction it is found that the normal-mode filter is the unique acoustic preprocessor which does not confound deterministic waveguide correlation structure with stochastic source covariance structure. Second, the origin of deterministic, Gaussian, and non-Gaussian source signatures is investigated by associating physical parameters with the classical Lindeberg central limit conditions. From construction it is found that there are important objects that are not adequately represented either by infinitesimal points or by infinite surfaces. If receiver resolution is inadequate to resolve source complexity, these objects will exhibit a non-Gaussian acoustic signature via an entirely linear progression from internal excitation, to source radiation, through waveguide propagation, and finally to reception  相似文献

A wave theory of propagation of an acoustic pulse in a moving stratified atmospheric layer above the ground with a finite impedance of an underlying ground surface is developed. The shapes of acoustic signals in a near-ground atmospheric waveguide, which are formed due to temperature inversion and a vertical shear of the wind velocity, are calculated based on this theory. These signals are compared with those measured during the experiments where vertical profiles of the wind velocity and temperature in an atmospheric boundary layer have been continuously controlled using a sodar, a temperature profile meter, and acoustic anemometers or thermometers mounted on a 56-meter-high mast. The joint action of a near-ground acoustic waveguide, the impedance of the underlying surface, and a vertical layered structure of the boundary atmospheric layer on a signal shape far from the acoustic source are studied.  相似文献

The robustness of the coherence of waveguide propagation to environmental uncertainty becomes an important consideration for systems that seek to exploit coherence for gain. Examples include matched field processing for passive localization and time reversal mirrors (TRMs) for active systems. Here, efficient normal mode representations of midfrequency time-domain propagation using the narrowband and adiabatic approximations are used to explore the deterioration of coherent active system predictability and performance in the presence sound-speed perturbations in the water column. Results show that for TRMs the reverberation level at the focal range is increased, and the scattering from an illuminated object is reduced for ensembles over oceanographic uncertainty. Results are obtained analytically as formal averages and are believed to represent a lower limit on the deterioration of TRM performance in the presence of environmental uncertainty for shallow-water waveguides.  相似文献

环境参数失配导致定位性能大幅度下降是匹配场定位所面临的难题之一。应用贝叶斯理论对环境聚焦,是当前解决该难题的研究热点。环境聚焦方法的实质是将未知环境参数和声源位置联合优化估计,当出现多个目标时,估计的参数会随着声源个数成倍增加,因此不得不利用有限的观测信息来实现众多参数的估计。本文采用最大似然比方法,获得信号源谱和误差项的最大似然估计,实现这些敏感性较弱参数的间接反演,有效降低了反演参数维数和定位算法复杂度。针对遗传算法的早熟和稳定性差的问题,改进了似然函数的经验表达式。将多维后验概率密度在参数起伏变化范围内积分,得到反演参数的一维边缘概率分布,求解最优值的同时进行反演结果的不确定性分析。本文仿真了位于相同距离、不同深度的两个声源,使用仿真实验验证了提出算法的有效性。  相似文献

A Bayesian network model has been developed to simulate a relatively simple problem of wave propagation in the surf zone (detailed in Part I). Here, we demonstrate that this Bayesian model can provide both inverse modeling and data-assimilation solutions for predicting offshore wave heights and depth estimates given limited wave-height and depth information from an onshore location. The inverse method is extended to allow data assimilation using observational inputs that are not compatible with deterministic solutions of the problem. These inputs include sand bar positions (instead of bathymetry) and estimates of the intensity of wave breaking (instead of wave-height observations). Our results indicate that wave breaking information is essential to reduce prediction errors. In many practical situations, this information could be provided from a shore-based observer or from remote-sensing systems. We show that various combinations of the assimilated inputs significantly reduce the uncertainty in the estimates of water depths and wave heights in the model domain. Application of the Bayesian network model to new field data demonstrated significant predictive skill (R2 = 0.7) for the inverse estimate of a month-long time series of offshore wave heights. The Bayesian inverse results include uncertainty estimates that were shown to be most accurate when given uncertainty in the inputs (e.g., depth and tuning parameters). Furthermore, the inverse modeling was extended to directly estimate tuning parameters associated with the underlying wave-process model. The inverse estimates of the model parameters not only showed an offshore wave height dependence consistent with results of previous studies but the uncertainty estimates of the tuning parameters also explain previously reported variations in the model parameters.  相似文献

Environmental contours are often used in design of marine structures to identify extreme environmental conditions that may give rise to extreme loads and responses. Recently, attention has been given to the fact that different methods exist for establishing such contours, and that in some cases significant differences may be obtained from the various methods.In this study, another aspect of the uncertainty related to the calculation of environmental contours is addressed, namely the uncertainty due to sampling variability when environmental contours are constructed based on metocean data of finite sample size. The uncertainty of environmental contours for the joint distribution of significant wave height and wave period for different sample sizes (10, 25 and 100 years of data) are investigated considering different underlying datasets and for different estimation methods for the joint distribution. Both cases where samples are drawn from a known joint distribution of wave height and periods and cases where samples are drawn from a real hindcast dataset and fitted to the joint distribution are considered. The uncertainty of the estimated contours is quantified and discussed in light of differences that can be anticipated from the different methods used to calculate the contours. Moreover, the potential bias from assuming different estimation methods is illustrated.  相似文献

利用不确定度可有效对多波束测深成果质量进行评估,针对现有不确定度计算模型因近似或简化导致一定误差的问题,本文提出一种基于严密波束归位模型的多波束测深点不确定度改进方法。首先分析了多波束测深过程中的各项误差源,基于误差传播定律与严密波束归位模型,详细推导了各误差源在波束归位各阶段的误差传播情况,最终得出了多波束测深成果不确定度的计算模型。文中利用实测数据计算了每个测深点的不确定度,绘制了单Ping扇面及条带的不确定度分布图,有利于直观、全面地了解所有测深点的误差变化趋势;计算结果与常用HGM不确定度模型进行了对比,表明本文方法更具合理性,对多波束测深成果的质量评估具有一定的参考价值。  相似文献

We analyze the possibility of existence of critical angles of incidence of sound waves along two paths of propagation of sound typical of the northwest shelf of the Black Sea from the viewpoint of the characteristics of the lower boundary of a waveguide and the space and time structure of the field of sound velocity. The lower boundary of the waveguide may possess the property of acoustic transparency both in the case of a subsurface sound channel and under the conditions of negative refraction if the bottom is formed by fine-aleurite silts responsible for significant losses in the process of propagation of sound. The angles of total internal reflection exist for bottoms formed by shell rocks under all hydrological conditions typical of this region. At the same time, for bottoms formed by fine-aleurite silts, these angles exist only for a certain vertical structure of the field of sound velocity, which enables one to use the range of angles in which the losses caused by the reflections of sound waves from the bottom can be neglected.  相似文献

海洋中声速起伏导致水声信道发生变化,进而引起声线到达结构的变化,对水声传播及定位精度产生一定影响。为讨论这一效应,基于TDOA体制建立了考虑声线弯曲的水下目标无源定位模型,分析了声速起伏对水下声传播路径及传播时间的影响,进而研究了声速起伏对水下无源定位测量精度影响程度。结果表明:当水平传播距离较大时,声速剖面起伏对声传播路径及传播时间的影响更为显著;以典型四元阵为例,若基线长度为20 km,接收阵位于水下5 km处,在不考虑其它随机误差影响下,海洋声速起伏造成的声源定位误差量级在0.5 m以内。分析结果有助于更好地利用环境特征优化无源定位测量方案,可为高精度水下无源定位系统设计及精度评估提供依据。  相似文献

Matched-field methods concern estimation of source locations and/or ocean environmental parameters by exploiting full wave modeling of acoustic waveguide propagation. Typical estimation performance demonstrates two fundamental limitations. First, sidelobe ambiguities dominate the estimation at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), leading to a threshold performance behavior. Second, most matched-field algorithms show a strong sensitivity to environmental/system mismatch, introducing biased estimates at high SNR. In this paper, some theoretical developments on matched-field performance analysis are summarized, including Bayesian performance bounds and probabilistic ambiguity analysis, both incorporating environmental/system uncertainty/mismatch. Performance analysis is then implemented for source localization in a typical shallow water environment chosen from the Shallow Water Evaluation Cell Experiments (SWellEX). The performance predictions describe the simulations of the maximum-likelihood estimator (MLE) well, including the mean-square error (MSE) in all SNR regions as well as the bias at high SNR. The threshold SNR and bias predictions are also validated through SWellEX experimental data processing. The results suggest the current environmental, acoustic, and statistical modeling has developed to such a level that the optimum theoretical matched-field performance can be achieved in a well-controlled experiment.  相似文献

We consider the propagation of large-scale internal gravity waves (IGWs) from the troposphere through vertically inhomogeneous wind structures to the ionosphere heights on the basis of an analysis of beam trajectories. We selected different versions of the initial parameters and numerically studied the specific peculiarities of the behavior of beam trajectories related to the location of layers with horizontal and vertical reflection and a critical layer on the pathway of the waves. It was shown that, for sufficiently large-scale IGWs, their propagation from the troposphere to ionosphere heights is possible. We found the characteristic times when the waves generated in the troposphere reach ionosphere heights. We revealed strong variations in these times when the initial parameters of the problem changed. We determined the typical values of the horizontal displacement (relative to the generation source) of the wave packets when they reach the ionosphere.  相似文献

Communication over rapidly changing channels such as the underwater acoustic channel has been an active research area, as well as an engineering challenge, for more than three decades. This paper derives an upper bound for the Shannon channel capacity-cost function for a class of randomly time-varying channels under an average power constraint. The channels considered can be characterized by a series of uncorrelated parallel diversity channels with Gaussian-distributed random gain and additive white Gaussian noise parameters. The resulting expression for the single-channel case clearly shows that such channels have finite capacity even when the source power is unconstrained.
