The distribution of organic carbon in the Bazhenov horizon rocks of the western Siberian sedimentary basin is investigated. The organic carbon concentration in rocks is estimated by the results of core analyses (4094 core analyses) and by the calculations of the core-log data correlations (48 500 measurements) according to the data of radiation and electrical loggings. The average content of organic carbon in the rocks of the Bazhenov and Tutleim (lower subformation) formation is 7.7%. The map of organic carbon concentrations in the sedimentary rocks of the basin is constructed. In the basin, Corg is distributed asymmetrically. The region of maximum Corg concentrations occupies the southwestern part of the internal area of the sedimentary basin. Silicites and biogene silica-enriched mixtites are enriched with organic matter most of all.  相似文献

A close relation of the organic carbon (Corg) content with major has been established for rocks of the Upper Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous Bazhenov Formation. Applying the method of multiple linear regression, it has been demonstrated that the Corgcontent in rocks of the Bazhenov Formation is stringently controlled by its bulk chemical composition. This inference is consistent with the existing ideas regarding a close interrelation between the following main components of rocks: organic carbon and authigenic quartz formed on remains of Radiolaria; pyrite formed in a highly reducing medium of Corg-rich sediments; and terrigenous clayey material diluting the authigenic siliceous–carbonaceous–pyritic matrix. These components chiefly determine the spectrum of major elements in the Bazhenov Formation. The establishment of the close relation between the Corgcontent and the group of major elements refutes the suggestion of some authors that siliceous material was supplied to nonlithified sediments of the Bazhenov sea by hydrothermal solutions, because this mechanism would have inevitably upset geochemical relations between elements in the studied rocks.  相似文献

The contents of biogenic components in 1511 samples of the Baltic Sea sediments (depth range 0–5 cm) are studied, and maps of their distribution are compiled. The sediments contain < 13.03% Corg, < 1.33% N, < 9.0% SiO2am, < 5.0% CaCO3, and < 1.45% P. The maximum and elevated contents of components are found in the mud of the sea deeps. The more fraction < 0.01 mm the sediments contain, the higher are the contents of components. Four facies types of carbonaceous mud, precursors of shales, have been recognized: (1) shallow-water (lagoon) lime sapropel, (2) carbonaceous mud of the shallow-water Gulf of Finland, (3) carbonaceous mud of the middle-depth Baltic Sea, and (4) laminated carbonaceous metal-bearing mud. The latter type of mud is strongly enriched in manganese and ore-forming trace elements, which points to its formation in the stagnant environment. In composition the Baltic Sea mud is similar to petroliferous mudstones of the Bazhenov Formation in West Siberia and to ancient black shales.  相似文献

A sapropelic layer, having an age of ca 4750 and 3500 14C y BP, was discovered at 0.90–2.35 m below the sea floor (mbsf) in gravity cores from the southern shelf of the Marmara Sea. It is a 15–50 cm thick, phosphorescent green to grey, plastic, clayey hemipelagic mud horizon, containing 1.5–2.9% organic carbon (Corg). The increase in Corg and biogenic carbonate, together with a rich planktonic foraminiferal fauna, indicate increased organic productivity and warm surface waters during the deposition of the sapropelic layer. The down-core profiles of Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, Ni and Co suggest that the sapropelic layer was deposited through an essentially oxic water column. The benthonic foraminiferal fauna indicates reduced oxygen levels in bottomwaters. The sapropelic unit was deposited during a high stand of global sea level. Its deposition was initiated by a large input of terrestrial organic matter and nutrient-rich fresh waters under a relatively warm and wet climate. The fresh water supply caused a strong water stratification, which, in turn, together with high organic matter input, resulted in reduced oxygen levels in the bottomwaters.  相似文献

In the central part of the Pannonian Basin, factors controlling the distribution of As in sediments and groundwater of the upper 500 m were studied. In core samples, the amounts of As, Fe and Mn extractable with hydroxylamine hydrochloride (NH2OH · HCl) in 25% acetic acid, the proportion of the <0.063 mm size fraction, and the sediment organic C (Corg) contents were measured. In the groundwaters concentrations of As, humic substances, and selected major chemical components were determined. In most core samples extractable Fe, as FeOOH, and Corg are correlated, but some samples have excess Fe, or organic matter. In cases where either excess Fe or excess organic matter is found, the amount of As is also elevated. The spatial distribution of As in the groundwater and the lack of a consistent correlation of As with a single component indicate that there is no single factor controlling the concentration of dissolved As over the entire study area. The only consistent feature is enrichment of As relative to Fe in the groundwater, compared to the sediments. This suggests that the dissolution of Fe minerals, which primarily adsorb As, is not congruent. In reducing conditions Fe(III) oxyhydroxides together with adsorbed As dissolve, and siderite with little or no As precipitates. When sub-regions are separated and studied individually, it can be shown that hydrogeological features of the sediments, the proportions of Fe minerals and sedimentary organic matter, and the concentration of dissolved humic materials, all influence the accumulation and mobilization of As. The significance of the different mobilizing processes, however, and the mean concentration of As, is different in the recharge, through-flow and discharge areas.  相似文献

The organic geochemical methods of hydrocarbon prospecting involve the characterization of sedimentary organic matter in terms of its abundance, source and thermal maturity, which are essential prerequisites for a hydrocarbon source rock. In the present study, evaluation of organic matter in the outcrop shale samples from the Semri and Kaimur Groups of Vindhyan basin was carried out using Rock Eval pyrolysis. Also, the adsorbed low molecular weight hydrocarbons, methane, ethane, propane and butane, were investigated in the near surface soils to infer the generation of hydrocarbons in the Vindhyan basin. The Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content in shales ranges between 0.04% and 1.43%. The S1 (thermally liberated free hydrocarbons) values range between 0.01–0.09 mgHC/gRock (milligram hydrocarbon per gram of rock sample), whereas the S2 (hydrocarbons from cracking of kerogen) show the values between 0.01 and 0.14 mgHC/gRock. Based on the Tmax (temperature at highest yield of S2) and the hydrogen index (HI) correlations, the organic matter is characterized by Type III kerogen. The adsorbed soil gas, CH4 (C1), C2H6 (C2), C3H8 (C3) and nC4H10, (nC4), concentrations measured in the soil samples from the eastern part of Vindhyan basin (Son Valley) vary from 0 to 186 ppb, 0 to 4 ppb, 0 to 5 ppb, and 0 to 1 ppb, respectively. The stable carbon isotope values for the desorbed methane (δ13C1) and ethane (δ13C2) range between −45.7‰ to −25.2‰ and −35.3‰ to −20.19‰ (VPDB), respectively suggesting a thermogenic source for these hydrocarbons. High concentrations of thermogenic hydrocarbons are characteristic of areas around Sagar, Narsinghpur, Katni and Satna in the Son Valley. The light hydrocarbon concentrations (C1–C4) in near surface soils of the western Vindhyan basin around Chambal Valley have been reported to vary between 1–2547 ppb, 1–558 ppb, 1–181 ppb, 1–37 ppb and 1–32 ppb, respectively with high concentrations around Baran-Jhalawar-Bhanpur-Garot regions (Kumar et al., 2006). The light gaseous hydrocarbon anomalies are coincident with the wrench faults (Kota – Dholpur, Ratlam – Shivpuri, Kannod – Damoh, Son Banspur – Rewa wrench) in the Vindhyan basin, which may provide conducive pathways for the migration of the hydrocarbons towards the near surface soils.  相似文献

Natural gas in the Xujiahe Formation of the Sichuan Basin is dominated by hydrocarbon (HC) gas, with 78–79% methane and 2–19% C2+ HC. Its dryness coefficient (C1/C1–5) is mostly < 0.95. The gas in fluid inclusions, which has low contents of CH4 and heavy hydrocarbons (C2+) and higher contents of non-hydrocarbons (e.g. CO2), is a typical wet gas produced by thermal degradation of kerogen. Gas produced from the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation (here denoted field gas) has light carbon isotope values for methane (δ13C1: −45‰ to −36‰) and heavier values for ethane (δ13C2: −30‰ to −25‰). The case is similar for gas in fluid inclusions, but δ13C1 = −36‰ to −45‰ and δ13C2 = −24.8‰ to −28.1‰, suggesting that the gas experienced weak isotopic fractionation due to migration and water washing. The field gas has δ13CCO2 values of −15.6‰ to −5.6‰, while the gas in fluid inclusions has δ13CCO2 values of −16.6‰ to −9‰, indicating its organic origin. Geochemical comparison shows that CO2 captured in fluid inclusions mainly originated from source rock organic matter, with little contribution from abiogenic CO2. Fluid inclusions originate in a relatively closed system without fluid exchange with the outside following the gas capture process, so that there is no isotopic fractionation. They thus present the original state of gas generated from the source rocks. These research results can provide a theoretical basis for gas generation, evolution, migration and accumulation in the basin.  相似文献

Sediment samples (213 sites) collected from the tectonic-active continental margin, offshore southwestern Taiwan were analyzed for grain sizes, organic carbon, nitrogen and carbon isotopic composition to obtain mass accumulation rate of terrestrial organic carbon and carbon budget to evaluate fate of terrestrial organic carbon from small mountainous rivers on the continental margin offshore southwestern Taiwan. Terrestrial organic carbon accumulation rates range from 0.29 to 45.6 g C m−2 yr−1 with a total accumulation budget of 0.063 Mt yr−1, which accounts for less than 13% of total river particulate organic carbon loads exported from the adjacent rivers, the Gaoping (a.k.a., Kaoping), Erhjen and Tsengwen rivers. This low burial efficiency of terrestrial organic carbon demonstrated that a majority of river-borne particles together with organic materials was moved away from the study area. For the river-borne particles from the Gaoping river, a pair of depocenters in the upper slope flanking the Gaoping submarine canyon are the locations where the maximum TCorg accumulation rate were observed which hold up to 45% (0.016 Mt yr−1) of the calculated accumulation found in the study region. On the other hand, the occurrence of higher-fraction terrestrial organic carbon in the upper and middle Gaoping submarine canyon suggests that a majority of particulate organic carbon of the Gaoping river was transported directly into the deep-sea basin through the Gaoping submarine canyon. Our results demonstrated that active margin with narrow shelf and slope is not an efficient sink for the large amount of terrigenous organic carbon supplied by the small rivers, but, a transient environment for these river derived particles.  相似文献

Concentrations of total organic matter (TOC), carbon isotopic compositions of carbonate and organic matter (δ13Ccarb, δ13Corg), and sulfur isotopic compositions of carbonate associated sulfate (δ34Ssulfate) across the Guadalupian–Lopingian (G–L) boundary were analyzed from identical samples of Tieqiao section, Laibin, Guangxi province, South China. The δ13Ccarb values show a positive excursion from − 0.45‰ to the peak of 3.80‰ in the Laibin limestone member of the Maokou Formation, followed by a drastic drop to − 2.60‰ in the lowest Heshan formation, then returned to about 1.58‰. Similar to the trends of the δ13Ccarb values, Δ13Ccarb–org values also show a positive excursion followed by a sharp negative shift. The onset of a major negative carbon isotope excursion postdates the end Guadalupian extinction that indicates subsequent severe disturbance of the ocean–atmosphere carbon cycle. The first biostratigraphic δ34Ssulfate values during the G–L transition exhibit a remarkable fluctuation: a dramatic negative shift followed by a rapid positive shift, ranging from 36.88‰ to − 37.41‰. These sulfate isotopic records suggest that the ocean during the G–L transition was strongly stratified, forming an unstable chemocline separating oxic shallow water from anoxic/euxinic deep water. Chemocline excursions, together with subsequent rapid transgression and oceanic anoxia, were likely responsible for the massive diversity decline of the G–L biotic crisis.  相似文献

The stable carbon isotopic compositions of light hydrocarbon gases adsorbed in near-surface soil and sediments from the Saurashtra basin were characterized for their origin and maturity. Saurashtra is considered geologically prospective for oil and gas reserves; however, a major part of the basin is covered by the Deccan Traps, hindering the exploration of Mesozoic hydrocarbon targets. Surface geochemical prospecting, based on micro-seepage of hydrocarbons from subsurface accumulations, could be advantageous in such areas. In light of this, 150 soil samples were collected from the northwestern part of Saurashtra, around the Jamnagar area, where a thick sedimentary sequence of about 2–3 km exists under 1–1.5 km of Deccan basalt. The concentration of acid desorbed alkane gases from soil samples was found to vary (in ppb) as: methane (C1) = 3–518; ethane (C2) = 0–430; propane (C3) = 0–331; i-butane (iC4) = 0–297; n-butane (nC4) = 2–116; i-pentane (iC5) = 0–31 and n-pentane (nC5) = 0–23, respectively.Fifteen samples with high concentrations of alkane gases were measured for their δ13C1; δ13C2 and δ13C3 compositions using gas chromatography–combustion-isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC–C-IRMS). The values for methane varied from ? 27 to ? 45.4‰, ethane from ? 20.9 to ? 27.6‰, and propane from ? 20.4 to ? 29.1‰ versus the Vienna PeeDee Belemnite (VPDB). The carbon isotope ratio distribution pattern represents isotopic characteristics pertaining to hydrocarbon gases derived from thermogenic sources. Comparisons of carbon isotopic signatures and compositional variations with the standard carbon isotopic models suggest that hydrocarbon gases found in the shallow depths of the study area are not of bacterial origin but are formed thermally from deeply buried organic matter, likely to be mainly a terrestrial source rock with a partial contribution from a marine source. These gases may have migrated to the near-surface environment, where they represent an admixture of thermally generated hydrocarbon gases from mixed sources and maturity. The maturity scale (δ13C versus Log Ro %) applied to the surface sediment samples of the Jamnagar area indicated the source material to be capable of generating oil and gas. The detection of thermogenic alkane gases in near-surface sediments offers the possibility of hydrocarbons at depth in Saurashtra.  相似文献

We investigated the distribution of lipids in Lower Triassic sedimentary rocks (252–247 myr) from South China, including a shallow water microbialite in the uppermost section of the outcrop. Archaeal derived hydrocarbons were the major constituents of the microbialite from the latest Early Triassic. Among these, we detected (i) abundant C40 acyclic and monocyclic biphytanes (possibly derived from glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraether lipids) and their degradation products, C30–39 pseudohomologues and (ii) a C25 head-to-tail linked (regular) isoprenoid hydrocarbon [possibly derived from dialkyl glycerol diether lipids (DGDs)] and its degradation products, C21–24 pseudohomologues and abundant pristane and phytane. Through combination of compound-specific stable carbon isotope analysis of isoprenoid hydrocarbons, which had average δ13C values of −35‰ to −30‰, and their molecular distribution, it was not possible to unambiguously define the archaeal source for the biphytanes in the microbialite. The δ13C values for pristane and phytane were similar to those for head-to-tail linked C21–25 isoprenoids; potential source organisms for these compounds were halophilic archaea. Except for methane seep microbialites, no other ancient or recent phototrophic microbialites have been reported to contain predominantly archaeal isoprenoid hydrocarbons. Our findings suggest the presence of a new type of microbialite.  相似文献

The Bulonggoer paleo-oil reservoir (BPR) on the northwest Junggar Basin is the first Devonian paleo-oil reservoir discovered in North Xinjiang, China. Solid bitumens occur within sandstone pores and as veins filling fractures. Samples of both types were analyzed using stable carbon isotope and reflectance measurements, as well as molecular biomarker parameters. The extremely positive δ13C values and biomarker indicators of depositional environment/lithology, such as pristane/phytane (Pr/Ph), C29/C30 hopane, diasteranes/regular steranes and dibenzothiophene/phenanthrene ratios, indicate a siliciclastic source for the BPR and their deposition in a highly reducing hypersaline environment. The presence of long chain n-alkanes and abundant tetracyclic diterpanes, C20–C21 tricyclic terpanes and perylene are indicators of higher plant organic matter input. Moreover, the bimodal distribution of C27 > C28 < C29 regular steranes and abundant methyltriaromatic steroids also support a contribution of microalgae as well as higher plants organic matter. The similar molecular composition and thermal maturity parameters indicate that the reservoir and veined solid bitumens were altered from a common paleo-petroleum, which originated from peak oil window matured source rocks. All solid bitumens from the BPR are characterized by relatively low bitumen reflectance values (Rb% < 0.7), suggesting that they were generated from low temperature processes rather than oil thermal cracking. Comparatively, the Rb% values for veined bitumens are higher than reservoir bitumens, indicating that the veined bitumens occurred earlier and experienced higher thermal conditions.  相似文献

We compared the degradation behaviour of amino sugars (ASs) and amino acids (AAs) during sedimentation in two lakes. Concentrations of individual ASs and AAs were measured in plankton, sediment trap and sediment samples from Lake Zug (LZ; eutrophic, stratified, permanently anoxic below 170 m) and Lake Brienz (LB; oligotrophic, oxic throughout the water column). In the plankton samples AAs comprised 37–50% of the organic carbon (Corg) and 41–65% of the N. With increasing water depth the fraction of Corg and N as AAs almost halved in both lakes. At the sediment surface the contribution of AAs to the Corg pool was slightly greater, but in the sediments the proportion further decreased downwards to values of 1% of the Corg pool in LB and 8% in LZ, and 3% and 17% of the N pool, respectively. ASs contributed to a smaller extent to the planktonic organic matter (OM). Within the water column, the contribution decreased in both lakes. In contrast, in the sediments the contribution of ASs to the Corg and N pools increased slightly with depth, indicating AS accumulation. We applied degradation indices based on ASs, AAs and chlorins, which all revealed transformation with OM sedimentation. However, some indices were more sensitive to early degradation (e.g. reactivity index) and others to an intermediate level of degradation (e.g. chlorin index and non-protein AAs). Despite the different trophic status and redox conditions, the general pattern of degradation was similar in both lakes, but was more pronounced in the sediments of the eutrophic LZ.  相似文献

Carbon stable isotopes from carbonate minerals (mainly dolomite) from six wells from the Lower Triassic Sherwood Sandstones of the Corrib Gas Field, Slyne Basin, west of Ireland, allow stratigraphic correlation. The results also provide information on palaeoenvironmental change during the deposition of these continental redbed sedimentary rocks. The Triassic reservoir rocks have been buried to > 4000 m and heated to > 165 °C and now contain methane-rich gas. Although the oxygen isotopic signal has been at least partially reset during burial and heating, a primary carbon isotopic signal appears to have survived diagenesis. The carbon isotope ratio varies from − 3.2‰ to + 2.1‰. All six wells show similar stratigraphic changes when all the carbon isotope data are plotted relative to a major playa horizon. δ13C increases from about − 3‰ at the base of the Sherwood to about + 2‰ 170 m above the base. δ13C then decreases to about − 2‰ for the next 70 m and remains steady for the following 50 m. The top 20 m of the Sherwood contains carbonate with a δ13C values decreasing to about − 3‰. The occurrence of a stratigraphically-correlatable carbon isotope pattern implies that the primary evolution signal has been preserved. The change in δ13C correlates with indicators of aridity and biological stress such that the highest δ13C values are in sedimentary rocks deposited in a playa lake (arid times); these rocks contain the greatest quantity of dolomite cement. Conversely, the lowest δ13C values correspond to sedimentary rocks deposited from well-developed rivers (relatively humid times) from the lowest quantity of dolomite cement. The same carbon isotope evolution has been found in another well in the Slyne basin and in Belgium, suggesting that the palaeoenvironmental isotope signal in the Triassic sedimentary rocks of the Corrib Field may have a regional significance.  相似文献

We use the evolution of river sediment characteristics and sedimentary Corg from the Himalayan range to the delta to study the transport of Corg in the Ganga-Brahmaputra system and especially its fate during floodplain transit.A detailed characterisation of both mineral and organic particles for a sampling set of river sediments allows taking into account the sediment heterogeneity characteristic of such large rivers. We study the relationships between sediment characteristics (mineralogy, grain size, specific area) and Corg content in order to evaluate the controls on Corg loading. Contributions of C3 and C4 plants are estimated from Corg stable isotopic composition (δ13Corg). We use the evolution of δ13Corg values from the Himalayan range to the delta in order to study the fate of Corg during floodplain transit.Ganga and Brahmaputra sediments define two distinct linear relations with specific area. In spite of 4-5 times higher specific area, Ganga sediments have similar Corg content, grain size and mineralogy as Brahmaputra sediments, indicating that specific area does not exert a primary control on Corg loading. The general correlation between the total Corg content and Al/Si ratio indicates that Corg loading is mainly related to: (1) segregation of organic particles under hydrodynamic forces in the river, and (2) the ability of mineral particles to form organo-mineral aggregates.Bed and suspended sediments have distinct δ13Corg values. In bed sediments, δ13Corg values are compatible with a dominant proportion of fossil Corg derived from Himalayan rocks erosion. Suspended sediments from Himalayan tributaries at the outflow of the range have low δ13Corg values (−24.8‰ average) indicating a dominant proportion of C3 plant inputs. In the Brahmaputra basin, δ13Corg values of suspended sediments are constant along the river course in the plain. On the contrary, suspended sediments of the Ganga in Bangladesh have higher δ13Corg values (−22.4‰ to −20.0‰), consistent with a significant contribution of C4 plant derived from the floodplain. Our data indicate that, during the plain transit, more than 50% of the recent biogenic Corg coming from the Himalaya is oxidised and replaced by floodplain Corg. This renewal process likely occurs during successive deposition-erosion cycles and river course avulsions in the plain.  相似文献

A composite varve-dated 11.4 m long sediment sequence from Lake Holzmaar, situated in the Eifel region of western Germany, was investigated for total organic matter content, total nitrogen content and stable organic carbon isotopes. Mean time resolution is 75 years for TN and 14 years for δ13Corg. On millennial time scales primary production of lacustrine algae strongly depends on the delivery of nutrients from the catchment. The respective carbon isotope record is characterized by marked variations of δ13Corg ranging from −36.0‰ to −27.0‰ and includes a number of pronounced shifts. Reactions of the lacustrine system and the catchment to changes of environmental parameters, e.g. runoff, solar radiation and temperature, induce changes of algal associations and of lacustrine primary production which are reflected in the sediments as carbon isotope variations. Clear evidence of ecosystem reorganizations is detected by the carbon isotope record around 14,200, 10,400, 9600, 5500, 2700, 1700 and 900 varve years BP. In particular, the Holocene events of 9600, around 5500 and 2700 are interpreted as the expression of massive changes of the climate system. The steady rise of δ13Corg values during the mid-Holocene is interpreted as a continuous climatic amelioration reaching an optimum around 6500 varve years BP. Rapid and large changes of δ13Corg values from 2700 varve years BP to the present indicate major disturbances in the catchment area. These are most probably related to deforestation or reforestation and runoff changes, presumably in conjunction with human impact. Carbon isotopes, thus, characterize the Holzmaar ecosystem in time revealing lacustrine palaeoproductivity as well as providing palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimatic information.  相似文献

The Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous aged carbonate sequence is widely exposed in the southern zone of Eastern Pontides. Aptian black bituminous limestone is found in the upper part of this sequence in the Kale area (Gümüşhane). This limestone contains faunal remains (e.g., gastropod, ostracod, characean stems and miliolid type benthic foraminifera) that indicate a freshwater, lacustrine depositional environment. The total organic carbon (TOC) values of the bituminous limestone samples range from 0.11–1.30% with an average TOC value of 0.54%. The hydrogen index (HI) varies from 119–448 mg HC/g TOC (average HI 298 mg HC/g TOC) indicating that the limestone contains gas prone as well as oil prone organic matter. Pyrolysis data prove that the organic matter content in the bituminous limestone consists of Type II kerogen. The average Tmax value for bituminous limestone samples is 438 °C (434–448 °C). Bitumen/TOC ratios for bituminous limestone are 0.05 and 0.04. The Tmax values and the ratios indicate that the bituminous limestone samples contain early mature to mature organic matter.Analysis of solvent extracts from the two richest bituminous limestones show a predominance of high carbon number (C26–C30) n-alkanes. The Pr/Ph ratio and CPI value are 1.34 and 0.96, respectively. C29 is the dominant sterane, with C29 > C27 > C28. The bituminous limestone samples have low C22/C21 ratios, high C24/C23 tricyclic terpane ratios and very low C31R/C30 hopane ratios (<0.25). These data are consistent with the bituminous limestones being deposited in a lacustrine environment.  相似文献

Based on the systematic analyses of light hydrocarbon, saturate, aromatic fractions and C isotopes of over 40 oil samples along with related Tertiary source rocks collected from the western Qaidam basin, the geochemical characteristics of the Tertiary saline lacustrine oils in this region was investigated. The oils are characterized by bimodal n-alkane distributions with odd-to-even (C11–C17) and even-to-odd (C18–C28) predominance, low Pr/Ph (mostly lower than 0.6), high concentration of gammacerane, C35 hopane and methylated MTTCs, reflecting the high salinity and anoxic setting typical of a saline lacustrine depositional environment. Mango’s K1 values in the saline oils are highly variable (0.99–1.63), and could be associated with the facies-dependent parameters such as Pr/Ph and gammacerane indexes. Compared with other Tertiary oils, the studied Tertiary saline oils are marked by enhanced C28 sterane abundance (30% or more of C27–C29 homologues), possibly derived from halophilic algae. It is noted that the geochemical parameters of the oils in various oilfields exhibit regular spatial changes, which are consistent with the depositional phase variations of the source rocks. The oils have uncommon heavy C isotopic ratios (−24‰ to −26‰) and a flat shape of the individual n-alkane isotope profile, and show isotopic characteristics similar to marine organic matter. The appearance of oleanane and high 24/(24 + 27)-norcholestane ratios (0.57–0.87) in the saline oils and source rocks confirm a Tertiary organic source.  相似文献

The paper describes Lower Jurassic (horizons J16 and J15) and Achimovka (Neocomian clinoforms) reservoirs in the area of the Nyurol’ka megadepression and its framing (42,000 km2). The total thicknesses of seven Achimovka sedimentary cycles are mapped. The thermal history of the Togur and Bazhenov parental sediments in the sections of 39 deep wells is reconstructed by paleotemperature modeling. The geotemperature criterion is used to identify paleosources of oil generation, starting from the Jurassic. The distribution of the relative density of the resources of the generated Togur and Bazhenov oils is estimated and shown on sketch maps. The Lower Jurassic reservoir is divided into zones depending on the distribution of the relative density of the Togur oil resources, and the Achimovka reservoir, of the Bazhenov oil resources. The priority oil search zones are proposed.  相似文献

The Nanhuan manganese deposits in the southeastern Yangtze Platform occur in the black shale series in the lower part of the Datangpo Formation. In order to constrain the genesis of the deposits, a detailed study was undertaken that involved field observations, major and trace element analyses, organic carbon analyses, and isotope analyses (C, O, S). The major findings are as follows. (1) The ore-bearing rock series, morphology of the ore bodies, and characteristics of ores in several deposits are similar. The ore minerals are rhodochrosite and manganocalcite. The gangue minerals are mainly quartz, feldspar, dolomite, and illite. Minor apatite and bastnaesite occur in the manganese ores. (2) The ores are enriched in Ca and Mg, whereas they are depleted in Si, Al, K, and Ti compared to wall rocks. The ores normalized to average Post-Archean Australian shale (PAAS) are enriched in Co, Mo, and Sr. The chondrite-normalized rare earth element (REE) patterns for ores and wall rocks are between those of typical hydrogenous and hydrothermal type manganese deposits. Additionally, the ores have positive Ce anomalies with an average Ce/Ce* of 1.23 and positive Eu anomalies with an average Eu/Eu* of 1.18 (normalized to PAAS). (3) The average content of organic carbon is 2.21% in the samples, and the average organic carbon isotopic value (δ13CV-PDB) is − 33.44‰. The average inorganic carbon isotopic value (δ13CV-PDB) of carbonates in Gucheng is − 3.07‰, while the values are similar in the other deposits with an average of − 8.36‰. The oxygen isotopic compositions (δ18OV-PDB) are similar in different deposits with an average of − 7.72‰. (4) The sulfur isotopic values (δ34SV-CDT) of pyrite are very high and range from + 37.9‰ to + 62.6‰ (average of 52.7‰), which suggests that the pyrite was formed in restricted basins where sulfate replenishment was limited. The sulfate concentrations in the restricted basins were extremely low and enriched in δ34S, which resulted in the very high δ34S values for the pyrite that formed in the manganese deposits. Therefore, a terrigenous weathering origin for manganese can be excluded; otherwise, the sulfate would have been introduced into the basins together with terrigenous manganese, which would have decreased the δ34S values of pyrites. The manganese, which originated from hydrothermal processes, was enriched in the restricted and anoxic basins, and then, it was oxidized to manganese oxyhydroxide in the overlying oxic waters whereby the products precipitated into the sediments. The manganese oxyhydroxide in the sediment was then reduced to Mn2 + and released to the pore waters during the process of diagenesis. Some organic carbon was oxidized to CO32 , which made the depletion of 13C in manganese carbonates. Therefore, we suggest that the Nanhuan manganese deposits are hydrothermal–sedimentary/diagenetic type deposits.  相似文献
