New U–Pb zircon (TIMS) results allow dating of protoliths of tonalite–trondhjemite orthogneisses of the Olekma Complex in the central part of the Chara–Olekma Geoblock (Aldan Shield) to 2825 ± 3 Ma and 2994 ± 3 Ma. Together with the results of previous geochronological studies, this proves that the Olekma Complex comprises heterochronous igneous rocks intensively reworked under amphibolite facies conditions and formed during different stages of geological evolution of the Aldan Shield.  相似文献

The lepidocrocite (-FeOOH) to maghemite (-Fe2O3), and the maghemite to hematite (-Fe2O3) transition temperatures have been monitored by TGA and DSC measurements for four initial -FeOOH samples with different particle sizes. The transition temperature of -FeOOH to -Fe2O3 and the size of the resulting particles were not affected by the particle size of the parent lepidocrocite. In contrast, the -Fe2O3 to -Fe2O3 transition temperature seems to depend on the amount of excess water molecules present in the parent lepidocrocite. Thirteen products obtained by heating for one hour at selected temperatures, were considered. Powder X-ray diffraction was used to qualify their composition and to determine their mean crystallite diameters. Transmission electron micrographs revealed the particle morphology. The Mössbauer spectra at 80 K and room temperature of the mixed and pure decomposition products generally had to be analyzed with a distribution of hyperfine fields and, where appropriate, with an additional quadrupole-splitting distribution. The Mössbauer spectra at variable temperature between 4.2 and 400 K of two single-phase -Fe2O3 samples with extremely small particles show the effect of superparamagnetism over a very broad temperature range. Only at the lowest temperatures (T55 K), two distributed components were resolved from the magnetically split spectra. In the external-field spectra the mI=0 transitions have not vanished. This effect is an intrinsic property of the maghemite particles, indicating a strong spin canting with respect to the applied-field direction. The spectra are successfully reproduced using a bidimensional-distribution approach in which both the canting angle and the magnetic hyperfine field vary within certain intervals. The observed distributions are ascribed to the defect structure of the maghemites (unordered vacancy distribution on B-sites, large surface-to-bulk ratio, presence of OH- groups). An important new finding is the correlation between the magnitude of the hyperfine field and the average canting angle for A-site ferric ions, whereas the B-site spins show a more uniform canting. The Mössbauer parameters of the two hematite samples with MCD104 values of respectively 61.0 and 26.5 nm display a temperature variation which is very similar to that of small-particle hematites obtained from thermal decomposition of goethite. However, for a given MCD the Morin transition temperature for the latter samples is about 30 K lower. This has tentatively been ascribed to the different mechanisms of formation, presumably resulting in slightly larger lattice parameters for the hematite particles formed from goethite, thus shifting the Morin transition to lower temperatures.Senior Research Associate, National Fund for Scientific Research (Belgium)  相似文献

In order to examine the precursory seismic quiescence of upcoming hazardous earthquakes, the seismicity data available in the vicinity of the Thailand–Laos–Myanmar borders was analyzed using the Region–Time–Length (RTL) algorithm based statistical technique. The utilized earthquake data were obtained from the International Seismological Centre. Thereafter, the homogeneity and completeness of the catalogue were improved. After performing iterative tests with different values of the \(r_{0}\) and \(t_{0}\) parameters, those of \(r_{0}\) = 120 km and \(t_{0}\) = 2 yr yielded reasonable estimates of the anomalous RTL scores, in both temporal variation and spatial distribution, of a few years prior to five out of eight strong-to-major recognized earthquakes. Statistical evaluation of both the correlation coefficient and stochastic process for the RTL were checked and revealed that the RTL score obtained here excluded artificial or random phenomena. Therefore, the prospective earthquake sources mentioned here should be recognized and effective mitigation plans should be provided.  相似文献

Here we present the results of U–Pb LA–ICP–MS dating of detrital zircons from the Ediacaran–Early Cambrian deposits of the eastern part of the Baltic monoclise (Leningrad Region). The obtained age spectra of the detrital zircons suggest that, in the Ediacaran–Early Cambrian, the main clastic material source to the northwest of the Russian Platform was the Baltic Shield. Then in the Early Cambrian along with the Baltic Shield provenance, a clastic source from the Timanian margin of Baltica (northeast in modern coordinates) contributed to the deposits. The obtained data either somewhat set limits of the Timanian orogen formation as older than the previously suggested Middle Cambrian (about 510 Ma), based on the “absence of a Proto–Uralian–Timanian provenance signal” in the Sablino Formation rocks in the south Ladoga, or suggest another rearrangement of detritus transportation paths at the end of Stage 3 (Atdabanian).  相似文献

Fragments of crystalline basement rocks in suevite, a tuff-like breccia found in the area of the Nördlinger Ries crater, display a continuous gradation of metamorphism. This is interpreted as an effect of the shock waves caused by meteoritic impact, the degree of metamorphism reflecting a radial gradient of pressure and temperature diminishing outward from the point of impact. This phenomenon gives further support to the theory that Ries crater is of meteoritic origin and that suevite is not volcanic in nature. A classification of varying impact facies in crystalline rocks is proposed. It is hoped that the system proposed may prove valid for impact structures in other areas.  相似文献

The first results on current movements are presented for the western part of the Dzhugdzhur–Stanovoi Terrane based on GPS geodesy of a geodynamic survey area of the Upper Amur region. Processing of the GPS data resulted in a vector field of the displacement rates of points of the geodynamic survey area with zones of intense deformations. It was concluded from a comprehensive analysis of geological–geophysical data and estimates of the displacement rates that the terrane is characterized by kinematic integrity and was subjected to a complex of tectonic factors related to the evolution of the eastern segment of Baikal Rift Zone in the area of transpression interaction of the Eurasian and Amur plates.  相似文献

 The reflectance of sediments (gray level) were measured on 11 sediment cores from the Norwegian–Greenland–Iceland Sea (Nordic seas). The analyzed time interval covers the past five glacial–interglacial cycles. Although the results demonstrate that the gray-level method has a potential for stratigraphic purposes, it is indicated that gray-level changes in the Nordic seas are not necessarily driven by variations in the content of biogenic calcite. A detailed comparison of gray-level values with contents of total CaCO3 (carbonate) and total organic carbon (TOC) reveals no overall causal link between these proxies. However, specific glacial core sections with layers containing organic-rich sediment clasts as a consequence of iceberg-rafting seem to correlate well with law gray-level values. Of those cores which show relatively high and comparable carbonate values in the last three main interglacial intervals (stages 11, 5.5, and 1), stage 11 is always marked by the highest gray-level values. A close inspection of the surface structure of the foraminiferal tests as well as the conduction of reflectance measurements on these tests leads to the conclusion that enhanced carbonate corrosion occurred during stage 11. The test corrosion not only affected the reflectance of the tests by making them appear whiter, it also seems responsible for the comparatively high gray-level values of the total sediment in stage 11. In contrast, the relatively low gray-level values found in stages 5.5, and 1 are not associated with enhanced test corrosion. This observation implies that variable degrees of carbonate corrosion can have a profound effect on total sediment reflectance. Received: 6 September 1998 / Accepted: 4 April 1999  相似文献

The carbonate sediments from the Vendian–Cambrian shelf of the Tuva-Mongolian microcontinent were dated by Sr and C isotope chemostratigraphy. Analysis of the Sr-isotopic characteristics (0.70725–0.70873) and δ13C variations (+ 10.5 to –3.5‰), as well as their comparison with the data on the key sections of Siberia, Africa, Central Asia, Australia, South America, and Spitsbergen, showed that the carbonate sedimentary cover of the Tuva-Mongolian microcontinent accumulated at 600–520 Ma and the carbonate sediments of the Muren Formation and the basal beds of the Bokson Group near the Ukha-Gol River are the oldest. Their sedimentation followed the Marinoan global glaciation.  相似文献

The Kizilcaören fluorite–barite–Rare Earth Element (REE) deposit occurs as epithermal veins and breccia fillings in altered Triassic metasandstones and Oligocene–Miocene pyroclastics adjacent to alkaline porphyritic trachyte and phonolite. This deposit is the only commercial source of REE and thorium in Turkey. Most of the fluorite–barite–REE mineralisation at Kizilcaören has been formed by hydrothermal solutions, which are thought to be genetically associated with alkaline volcanism. The occurrence of the ore minerals in vuggy cavities and veins of massive and vuggy silica indicate that the ore stage postdates hydrothermal alteration. The deposit contains evidence of at least three periods of hypogene mineralisation separated by two periods of faulting. The mineral assemblage includes fluorite, barite, quartz, calcite, bastnäsite, phlogopite, pyrolusite and hematite as well as minor amounts of plagioclase feldspar, pyrite, psilomelane, braunite, monazite, fluocerite, brockite, goethite, and rutile. Fluid inclusion microthermometry indicates that the barite formed from low salinity (0.4–9.2 equiv. wt% NaCl) fluids at low temperatures, between 105 and 230 °C, but fluorite formed from slightly higher salinity (<12.4 equiv. wt% NaCl) fluids at low and moderate temperatures, between 135–354 °C. The depositional temperature of bastnäsite is between 143–286 °C. The local coexistence of liquid- and vapour-rich inclusions suggests boiling conditions. Many relatively low-salinity (<10.0 equiv. wt% NaCl), low and moderate temperature (200–300 °C) inclusions might be the result of episodic mixing of deep-saline brines with low-salinity meteoric fluids. The narrow range of δ34S (pyrite and barite) values (2.89–6.92‰ CDT)suggests that the sulphur source of the hydrothermal fluids are the same and compatible with a volcanogenic sulphate field derived from a magmatic sulphur source.  相似文献

To elaborate physicochemical models for the origin of crystalline rocks, experimental studies of the field of high-alumina assemblages of the system CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2 were carried out at 10–30 kbar and 1250–1535 °C. We have determined the phase relations between the melt (L) and An, Sp, Cpx, Cor, and Ga, the slope of the rays of the monovariant reactions An + Sp = Cpx + Cor + (Ga) and L = Cpx +Ga + Cor + Sp, the position of the nonvariant point (An, Sp, Cpx, Cor, Ga, L), and the compositions of phases participating in these reactions. Based on a topological analysis of the studied segment of the system CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2, we have substantiated that “eclogitization” must follow the reaction Opx + An + Sp = Cpx + Ga. A fundamental continuous series of eutectic monovariant equilibria was observed: L = Cpx + Opx + Fo + An, L = Cpx + Opx + An + Sp, L = Cpx (+ Ga) + An + Sp, and L = Cpx + Cor (+ Ga) + An. A change in the melt composition in this series of eutectic reactions depending on pressure must reflect the most likely magma genesis trend in nature. Comparision of the composition fields in which the above series of reactions is observed with the composition fields of the rocks of magmatic formations showed that this series is most similar to the alkali-earth series of rocks. The mineralogical compositions of cumulates and phenocrysts found in the effusive and dike varieties of these rocks correspond to unique sets of subsolidus phase associations and individual subsolidus phases crystallizing in this fundamental eutectic series.  相似文献
