A suite of samples, including kaersutite and ilmenite megacrysts, spinel peridotites, garnet pyroxenites, and the alkali basalts that host them, have been studied in an effort to better constrain the mineralogy and chemistry of the subcontinental mantle beneath the central portion of the Arabian plate. Kaersutite megacrysts are classified as Type-A high-pressure precipitates of the alkali basalt host, which transported these xenoliths to the surface and extruded them during formation of the Tell-Danun volcano, southwestern Syria. Ilmenite megacrysts are classified as Type-B megacrysts and could not have precipitated from the alkali basalts presently sampled. Instead, they were derived from a magma that was enriched in the rare-earth elements (REE) by ca. four times and depleted in Zr and Hf, compared to the alkali basalts.

Garnet pyroxenites from the Tell-Danun volcanic field yield temperatures and pressures of 946-1045° C and 8-10 kbar, respectively. These xenoliths likely were precipitated as dikes or along walls of conduits at depths of 24-30 km in the lower crust and/or upper mantle beneath the Arabian plate. Spinel peridotites last were equilibrated at temperatures of 755-1080° C and pressures from 10-20 kbar (30-60 km depth) and could represent samples of a mantle that has been depleted by a prior partial melting event. Many spinel peridotites also contain evidence (specifically in concave-upward REE patterns) of a subsequent enrichment event. However, the age and timing of this depletion, and of the subsequent enrichment event, are not known. This event could have occurred as a consequence of the entrainment of the xenoliths in the LREE- enriched alkali basalts or could have occurred prior to alkali basalt volcanism via metasomatic processes.  相似文献

本文提出了稀土配分分形结构因子概念和计算方法。利用这个新方法,计算了中国东部新生代玄武岩中稀土配分的分形结构因子。研究了这些因子与玄武岩主元素、稀土元素、分散元素和同位素之间的关系,并求出了其相关性参数。利用这些参数,求出了两个端元玄武岩的主元素和稀土元素含量;提出了五大莲池地区玄武岩可能与富钾交代地幔部分熔融作用有关,其它玄武岩的形成与软流圈地幔或岩石圈地幔部分熔融有关;玄武岩同位素的比值不仅受玄武岩浆地幔源区本身的特征制约,还可能受地幔岩部分熔融程度的制约。  相似文献

我国东部苏鲁皖地区新生代碱性玄武岩中,除了含有大量地幔橄榄岩类捕虏体以外,尚含有一定数量的石榴石、普通辉石和歪长石巨晶。这些巨晶是在地幔不同深度上从玄武岩中晶出的。巨晶组合的分离结晶作用对熔体稀土元素含量有很大影响。赋存巨晶的碱性玄武岩所具有的LREE富集、HREE亏损的稀土元素分配型式是由地幔橄榄岩类部分熔融程度、石榴石巨晶和普通辉石巨晶的早期高压熔离和玄武岩的结晶分异作用等综合因素造成的。  相似文献

本文对华北克拉通晚中生代和新生代碱性玄武质岩石中的单斜辉石巨晶进行了主、微量元素和Sr-Nd同位素的综合研究,发现晚中生代和新生代单斜辉石巨晶存在明显的主、微量元素和同位素组成上的差异。新生代单斜辉石巨晶有Al-普通辉石和次透辉石两类;而中生代单斜辉石巨晶只有Al-普通辉石。新生代单斜辉石SiO_2含量高、REE配分型式为上凸型、LILE和放射性元素含量高,并具有比寄主碱性玄武岩更亏损的Sr和Nd同位素组成;而中生代单斜辉石SiO_2含量低、REE配分型式为LREE富集型、LILE和部分HFSE以及放射性元素含量低,并具有比寄主碱性玄武岩稍富集的Sr和Nd同位素组成;巨晶的结构、矿物成分和地球化学特征,以及Mg-Fe在熔体与单斜辉石间的分配状况皆说明,新生代碱性玄武岩中单斜辉石巨晶是碱性玄武岩浆在高压下结晶的,因此二者是同源的;而中生代单斜辉石巨晶是被寄主岩浆偶然捕获的捕虏晶,是不同源的。华北新生代单斜辉石巨晶存在于碱性玄武岩和拉斑玄武岩中,它们具有比寄主碱性玄武岩更亏损的Sr和Nd同位素组成,说明即使是碱性玄武岩也不能完全代表软流圈来源的原始岩浆,其在上升过程中或多或少存在同位素组成富集的物质的混入。同时,拉斑玄武岩不是碱性玄武质岩浆直接结晶分异的产物,亦不是完全由部分熔融程度的不同造成的。拉斑玄武岩中存在岩石圈地幔物质的贡献或是岩浆房内碱性玄武质岩浆受地壳混染作用的结果。  相似文献

Clinopyroxene megacrysts in alkali basalts are an important source of information about the evolution of magmatic systems at depth. In this study, we have undertaken a detailed examination of the trace element contents in a suite of megacrysts from 2.5 Ma old alkali basalts in the Nógrád volcanic province of Hungary and Slovakia. The megacrysts range in composition from Mg-rich and in equilibrium with their host magmas, to those that are Fe-rich and must have evolved in more fractionated magmas. The conditions of crystallization of these megacrysts, as calculated from the AlVI/AlIV ratios, suggests they all formed at about 30 km, or the crust–mantle boundary in this area. Using the most magnesian megacrysts and compositions of the host lavas, we have calculated the partition coefficients for a range of trace elements. However, the trace element contents in the megacrysts show a systematic variation with major element composition. Moreover, the rate of increase or change in the trace element concentrations is not consistent with models involving constant or steady state partition coefficients. Using a series of assumptions and models, we hypothesize that the partition coefficients between clinopyroxene and melt change substantially during the magmatic evolution of the system. This change is not constant for each element group, with the high field strength elements showing the most substantial increases. Electrostatic charge balance may have been the most important factor in controlling the mineral/melt partitioning.  相似文献

Based on REE abundances in megacrysts and host basalts and their equilibrium conditions,it has proved that megacrysts may have been produced from the magma derived from the host rocks or of more basic composition.The REE ratios of megacrysts to host rocks may be taken as partition coefficients when both are equilibrium with each other.The crystal fractionation of megacrysts has caused the evolution of REE in the magma.It is obvious that some host basalts are the product of magma evolution after crystal fractionation.According to REE abundances in the host rocks and the partition coefficients between crystal and liquid,the history of crystal fractionation of magma can be traced.  相似文献

山东昌乐新生代玄武岩内的刚玉巨晶(蓝宝石)中含有多种类型熔融包裹体,其成分对了解华北深部地幔交代过程中的流/熔体性质和刚玉母岩浆特点具有重要意义.详细的岩相学和激光拉曼分析鉴定出一类富碳酸盐和硫酸盐成分的原生熔融包裹体以及一类含硫酸盐和氯化物等成分的次生熔融包裹体,二者同时还含有CO2和H2O.碳酸盐和硫酸盐成分在世界范围玄武岩内刚玉巨晶中是首次发现,结合已有的包裹体稀有气体同位素和测温资料,反映两种成分可能来源于交代地幔的碳酸岩熔体,预示着华北深部地幔不仅经历了硅酸盐成分的交代还经历了富碳酸盐和硫酸盐成分(碳酸岩)的交代,同时也显示刚玉母岩浆成分复杂,至少有富这两类成分物质的参与,刚玉很可能是硅酸盐岩浆/岩石和幔源碳酸岩岩浆相互作用的产物,后被玄武岩喷发携带至地表.  相似文献

我国华北北部新近纪喷发的汉诺坝玄武岩,岩层出露比较完整,普遍含有超镁铁岩包体和各种高压巨晶。大麻坪代黄沟剖面出露较好,主要岩性为玄武岩,从上到下可分为上三、二、一层和底层。岩相学观察显示这些玄武岩含有1%~5%的捕虏晶且斑晶数量很少。橄榄岩包体为尖晶石二辉橄榄岩,轻稀土略微亏损,轻重稀土无分馏,显示这是只经过少量部分熔融后的原始地幔包体。通过对代黄沟碱性玄武岩中橄榄石、辉石和斜长石等斑晶或捕虏晶的矿物学分析,得出它们的成分变化是玄武岩混合了分解的地幔橄榄岩快速上升造成的。玄武岩的主量元素与二辉橄榄岩相平衡的原生熔体相比,Mg#(52.0~62.7)以及CaO(7.3%~8.5%)、Ni((82~192)×10-6)和Cr((65~192)×10-6)含量都较低。玄武岩的稀土分配模式为轻稀土富集的右倾型,δEu=1.01~1.05,δCe=0.95~1.02,富集高场强元素Nb、Ta、Zr及大离子亲石元素Ba、Sr。玄武岩痕量元素Ba/Rb和Rb/Sr的比值显示源区可能遭受过流体的交代作用。同时,痕量元素显示这一系列玄武岩主要受到部分熔融的控制,大量的结晶分异并未发生,且源区残留石榴子石。分析认为玄武岩岩浆应该是原生岩浆,而不是演化岩浆,影响整个岩浆的形成的过程可能是部分熔融而不是分离结晶。基于目前已发表的实验岩石学结果和理论分析认为汉诺坝玄武岩与辉石岩类相平衡,源区主要矿物相为单斜辉石和石榴子石,可能存在少量的橄榄石。  相似文献

The Khoy ophiolite in northwestern Iran represents a remnant of oceanic lithosphere formed in the Mesozoic Neo-Tethys. This northwest–southeast trending ophiolite complex consists from bottom to top (east to west) of a well-defined basal metamorphic zone, peridotites (dunite, harzburgite) and serpentinized peridotite, gabbros, sheeted dikes, pillow and massive lava flows, and pelagic sedimentary rocks, including radiolarian chert. The rocks of the metamorphic zone have an inverse thermal gradient from amphibolite facies to greenschist facies. The high-grade metamorphic rocks are immediately adjacent to the peridotite and the gabbros and the low-grade rocks are in contact with the Precambrian Kahar Formation. Based on mantle-normalized incompatible trace element diagrams there are two distinct types of basalt flows present at the Khoy ophiolite: (1) massive basalts that have patterns virtually identical to E-MORB, and (2) pillow basalts that have more primitive chemical composition whose trace element patterns plot between E-MORB and N-MORB. The chondrite-normalized REE patterns for the pillow basalts are LREE-depleted [(LaN/SmN)ave=0.70], similar to patterns for the mean diabase composition for the Oman ophiolite and LREE-depleted basalts of the Band-e-Zeyarat ophiolite of southern Iran. The REE patterns for the massive basalts are similar in general REE abundances to the pillow basalt patterns, but they are slightly LREE-enriched [(LaN/SmN)ave=1.09] and their patterns cross those of the pillow basalts. The REE patterns for the gabbros and diorites indicates that the crustal-suite rocks were most likely derived by a process of fractional crystallization from a common basaltic melt. This basaltic melt was most likely generated by approx. 20–25% partial melting of a simple lherzolite source and had REE concentrations of roughly 10× chondrite. A comparison between the results from the Khoy ophiolite and the data from other Iranian ophiolites reveals geochemical evidence to suggest a tectonic link between the Khoy ophiolite and the rest of the Iranian ophiolites. Our results suggest that Khoy ophiolite is equivalent to the inner group of Iranian ophiolites (e.g. Nain, Shahr-Babak, Sabzevar, Tchehel Kureh and Band-e-Zeyarat) and was formed as a result of closure of the northwestern branch of a narrow Mesozoic seaway which once surrounded the Central Iranian microcontinent.  相似文献
