Ground waters in a Precambrian granitic batholith at the Whiteshell Nuclear Research Establishment (WNRE) in Pinawa, Manitoba contain between 5 × 10?5 and 10?1 cc STP/gH2O of radiogenic helium-4 but have relatively uniform 3He/4He ratios of between 0.6 × 10?8 and 2.3 × 103. The highest helium samples also contain radiogenic 21,22Ne produced by (α,n) or (n,α) reactions with other isotopes. As much as 1.8 × 10?9ccSTP/gH2O of excess 21Ne and 3.8 × 10?9ccSTP/gH2O of excess 22Ne have been measured. Helium and 21Ne ages of these ground waters, calculated on the basis of known crustal production rates of 4He and 21Ne, are unreasonably high (up to 2 × 105 years) and incompatible with the 14C ages and other isotopic and hydrogeologic data. Uranium enrichment in the flow porosity of the granite may dominate 4He and 21,22Ne production in this granite and mask the contributions from more typical U and Th concentrations in the rock matrix.At the Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories in Ontario helium concentrations in ground waters in a Precambrian monzonitic gneiss range from 1.5 × 10?7 to 8.7 × 10?4ccSTP/gH2O with the 3He/4He ratios ranging from 2.0 × 10?3 to 1.5 × 10?7. The highest helium concentrations may be attributable to the presence of a thick uraniferous pegmatite vein and yield helium ages more than two orders of magnitude higher than the 14C ages. Application of He age dating equations to ground waters from Precambrian granitic rocks requires knowledge of the nature of uranium and thorium enrichment in the subsurface in order to select appropriate values for porosity and uranium and thorium concentration in the rock.  相似文献

渭河盆地地热水中含有丰富的水溶氦气,通过采集分析渭河盆地地热水水溶氦气成分和He同位素研究了氦气的成因与来源。分析结果表明,渭河盆地地热水水溶氦气体积分数普遍超过0.1%,最高达到3.395%。地热水水溶氦气的3He/4He比值介于(3.61±0.29)×10-8~(7.80±0.23)×10-7之间,氦气的R/Ra值小于1.00。天然气的4He/20Ne比值研究一致表明,渭河盆地地热水水溶氦气主要为壳源成因,混有微量的幔源氦。区域地质资料分析表明,富铀花岗岩放射性成因的氦气是渭河盆地地热水水溶氦气的主要来源,大面积出露于秦岭造山带以及隐伏于渭河盆地南缘新生代沉积层下的富铀花岗岩体为渭河盆地地热水水溶氦气的主要气源岩。  相似文献

Chemical and isotopic compositions have been measured for N2-He-rich bubbling gases discharging from hot springs in the Hainan Island, Southern China. Observed 3He/4He ratios (0.1–1.3 RA) indicate the occurrence of a mantle component throughout the island, which has been highly diluted by a crustal radiogenic 4He component. The occurrence of mantle-derived helium is high in the northern island (12%–16% of total He) and gradually decreases towards southern coast (1%–3% of total He). Such a distribution pattern is most likely controlled by the Pleocene-Quaternary volcanic activities in the northern island and groundwater circulation along the deep major faults. The 40Ar/36Ar and N2/Ar ratios suggest that N2 and Ar of the hot spring gases are mostly meteoric. Although δ13C values of CO2 (–20‰ to –27‰) with low concentrations are consistent with the biogenic origin, the combination of 3He/4He and d13CCO2 suggests a two end-member mixing of mantle and crustal components with CO2/3He ratios of 2×109 and 8×1011, respectively. However, the low CO2/3He ratios (1–22×106) can not be ascribed in terms of the simple mixing but has to be explained by the addition of radiogenic 4He and loss of CO2 by calcite precipitation in the hydrothermal system, which is most likely controlled by the degree of gas-water-rock interaction.  相似文献

The chemical and isotopic compositions of gases from hydrocarbon systems of the Taranaki Basin of New Zealand (both offshore and onshore) show wide variation. The most striking difference between the western and south-eastern groups of gases is the helium content and its isotopic ratio. In the west, the Maui gas is over an order of magnitude higher in helium concentration (up to 190 μmol mol−1) and its 3He/4He ratio of 3.8 RA (where RA=the air 3He/4He ratio of 1.4×10−6) is approximately half that of upper mantle helium issuing from volcanic vents of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. In the SE, the Kupe South and most Kapuni natural gases have only a minor mantle helium input of 0.03–0.32 RA and low total helium concentrations of 10–19 μmol mol−1. The 3He/C ratio (where C represents the total carbon in the gas phase) of the samples measured including those from a recent study of on-shore Taranaki natural gases are generally high at locations where the surface heat flow is high. The 3He/CO2 ratio of the Maui gases of 5 to 18×10−9 is higher than the MORB value of 0.2 to 0.5×10−9, a feature found in other continental basins such as the Pannonian and Vienna basins and in many high helium wells in the USA. Extrapolation to zero CO2/3He and CO2/C indicates δ13C(CO2) values between −7 and −5‰ close to that of MORB CO2. The remaining CO2 would appear to be mostly organically-influenced with δ13C(CO2) c.−15‰. There is some evidence of marine carbonate CO2 in the gases from the New Plymouth field. The radiogenic 4He content (Herad) varies across the Taranaki Basin with the highest Herad/C ratios occurring in the Maui field. δ13C(CH4) becomes more enriched in 13C with increasing Herad and hydrocarbon maturity. Because 3He/4He is related to the ratio of mantle to radiogenic crustal helium and 3He/C is virtually constant in the Maui field, there is a correlation between RC/RA (where RC=air-corrected 3He/4He) and δ13C(CH4) in the Maui and New Plymouth fields, with the more negative δ13C(CH4) values corresponding to high 3He/4He ratios. A correlation between 3He/4He and δ13C(CO2) was also observed in the Maui field. In the fields adjacent to Mt Taranaki (2518 m andesitic volcano), correlations of some parameters, particularly CO2/CH4, C2H6/CH4 and δ13C(CH4), are present with increasing depth of the gas reservoir and with distance from the volcanic cone.  相似文献

The 3He/4He ratios of most eclogites from the Dabie-Sulu terrane range from 0.056 to 0.67 Ra; the data points fall into the mixing part of the crust and the mantle in the 3He-4He diagram. The 3He/4He ratios of eclogites are obviously correlated with the types of their surrounding rocks. The helium isotope composition of the eclogites from the Bixiling complex possesses characters of mantle-derived rocks with the 3He/4He ratio being 5.6 Ra. The 4He concentration of the eclogites exhibits visible inverse correlation with the δ18O value of the quartz in the eclogites from the Sulu area. The δ18O values of the eclogites change synchronously with those of the country rocks. Those results suggest that protoliths of the eclogites were basic-ultrabasic rock bodies or veins intruding into the continental crust in the early stage; strong exchange and hybridization between the basic-ultrabasic rocks and continental rocks and the atmospheric water during the intrusion led to abrupt increase of the 3He/4He ratios,  相似文献

We assess the role of fracturing and seismicity on fluid-driven mass transport of helium using groundwaters from the eastern Morongo Basin (EMB), California, USA. The EMB, located ∼200 km east of Los Angeles, lies within a tectonically active region known as the Eastern California Shear Zone that exhibits both strike-slip and extensional deformation. Helium concentrations from 27 groundwaters range from 0.97 to 253.7 × 10−7 cm3 STP g−1H2O, with corresponding 3He/4He ratios falling between 1.0 and 0.26 RA (where RA is the 3He/4He ratio of air). All groundwaters had helium isotope ratios significantly higher than the crustal production value of ∼0.02 RA. Dissolved helium concentrations were resolved into components associated with solubility equilibration, air entrainment, in situ production within the aquifer, and extraneous fluxes (both crustal and mantle derived). All samples contained a mantle helium-3 (3Hem) flux in the range of 4.5 to 1351 × 10−14 cm3 STP 3He cm−2 yr−1 and a crustal flux (J0) between 0.03 and 300 × 10−7 cm3 STP 4He cm−2 yr−1. Groundwaters from the eastern part of the basin contained significantly higher 3Hem and deep crustal helium-4 (4Hedc) concentrations than other areas, suggesting a localized source for these components. 4Hedc and 3Hem are strongly correlated, and are associated with faults in the basin. A shallow thermal anomaly in a >3,000 m deep graben in the eastern basin suggests upflow of fluids through active faults associated with extensional tectonics. Regional tectonics appears to drive large scale crustal fluid transport, whereas episodic hydrofracturing provides an effective mechanism for mantle-crust volatile transport identified by variability in the magnitude of degassing fluxes (3Hem and J0) across the basin.  相似文献

Dissolved helium concentrations and 3He/4He ratios were measured for 18 groundwater samples collected from the Quaternary confined aquifers in the North China Plain (NCP). The dissolved helium concentrations ranged from 1 × 10−7 to 1 × 10−6 cm3STP·g−1 in the 14 samples from the central plain, but was approximately two orders of magnitude higher, between 6 × 10−6 and 9 × 10−5 cm3STP·g−1, in 4 samples from the coastal plain. Based on these concentrations and the corresponding 3He/4He ratios varying from 0.09 to 0.55 Ra (where Ra is the 3He/4He ratio of air), the dissolved helium in groundwater in the central plain was identified to be primarily a mixture of atmospheric helium with radiogenic helium and a representative radiogenic helium ratio was estimated to be 0.035 Ra. Despite the high fraction of terrigenic 4He in the samples from the coastal plain, their 3He/4He ratios were found to be significantly above this radiogenic value, ranging between 0.20 and 0.37 Ra, indicating the presence of a mantle-derived He component in this area. About 2–4% mantle helium was estimated to be present in the groundwater of the coastal plain, which probably is associated with the regional Cangdong fault and tectonic activities. Based on the radiogenic He component, 4He ages of the groundwater in the central plain were calculated by assuming either pure in situ production or an external helium flux J0 of 4.7 × 10−8 cm3STPcm−2a−1. The estimated 4He ages fall between 9.5 and 51.4 ka and are comparable to the 14C ages, suggesting that the results of 4He dating are reasonable and can be an effective tool to estimate groundwater residence times under suitable conditions.  相似文献

根据渭河盆地地热井、油气调查井、氦气调查井气样分析成果,结合近年来地质、物探新成果分析,发现渭河盆地各类钻井中普遍存在含氦天然气,且这些天然气,按甲烷和氦气含量可分为富氦天然气和贫氦天然气两类。位于渭河盆地边部的地热井、区域地质和物化探成果均佐证了渭河盆地基底存在上古生界,未见隐伏的花岗岩体。区域构造演化佐证了渭河盆地周边断裂的形成与区域断裂同期,盆地的形成与演化是区域演化的一部分,其主沉降期是新生代。因此,前人对渭河盆地形成的最早时间为始新世以及不存在上古生界煤系地层基底以及氦气的主要气源岩是分布于基底的富铀花岗岩体和秦岭造山带富铀花岗岩体的认识有待进一步探究。对比邻区鄂尔多斯盆地,发现渭河盆地上古生界煤系地层可作为烃源岩,伽马异常层可作为氦源层,这为重新评价渭河盆地的氦气资源地质前景提供了依据。   相似文献

We have measured the isotopes of He, Sr, Nd and Pb in a number of lava flows from the Galapagos Archipelago; the main goal is to use magmatic helium as a tracer of plume influence in the western volcanoes. Because the Galapagos lava flows are so well preserved, it is also possible to measure surface exposure ages using in situ cosmic-ray-produced 3He. The exposure ages range from <0.1 to 580 Ka, are consistent with other chronological constraints, and provide the first direct dating of these lava flows. The new age data demonstrate the utility of the technique in this important age range and show that the western Galapagos volcanoes have been erupting distinct compositions simultaneously for the last ∼10 Ka. The magmatic 3He/4He ratios range from 6.9 to 27 times atmospheric (Ra), with the highest values found on the islands of Isabela (16.8 Ra for Vulcan Sierra Negra) and Fernandina (23 to 27 Ra). Values from Santa Cruz are close to typical mid-ocean ridge basalt values (MORB, of ∼9 Ra) and Pinta has a 3He/4He ratio lower than MORB (6.9 Ra). These data confirm that the plume is centered beneath Fernandina which is the most active volcano in the archipelago and is at the leading edge of plate motion. The data are consistent with previous isotopic studies, confirming extensive contributions from depleted asthenospheric or lithospheric mantle sources, especially to the central islands. The most striking aspect of the helium isotopic data is that the 3He/4He ratios decrease systematically in all directions from Fernandina. This spatial variability is assumed to reflect the contribution of the purest plume component to Fernandina magmatism, and shows that helium is a sensitive indicator of plume influence. The highest 3He/4He ratios are found in volcanoes with lowest Na2O(8) and FeO(8), which may relate to source composition as well as degree and depth of melting. An excellent correlation is observed between 3He/4He and Nb/La, suggesting that the Galapagos plume source is characterized by high concentrations of Nb (and Ta). The major and trace element correlations demonstrate that helium is controlled by silicate melting and source variations rather than degassing and/or metasomatic processes. Although lavas with radiogenic isotopic compositions tend to have higher 3He/4He, the island-wide isotopic variability cannot be explained by simple two components mixing alone. The preferred model to explain the isotopic data includes a heterogeneous plume, centered at Fernandina, which undergoes polybaric melting, and spatial divergence and mixing with asthenospheric material at shallower depths. The unique regional pattern of the helium isotopic data suggests that helium is extracted more efficiently than other elements during the early stages of melting in the ascending plume.  相似文献

The Longquanzhan gold deposit hosted in granitic cataclasites with mylontization of the foot wall of the main Yishui-Tangtou fault. 3He/4He ratios in fluid inclusions range from 0. 14 to 0. 24 R/Ra,close to those of the crust-source helium. 40Ar/36Ar ratios were measured to be 289-1811, slightly higher than those of atmospheric argon. The results of analysis of helium and argon isotopes suggested that ore-forming fluids were derived chiefly from the crust. The δ18O values of fluid inclusions from vein quartz range from -1.78‰ to 4.07‰, and the δD values of the fluid inclusions vary between -74‰ and -77‰. The hydrogen and oxygen isotope data indicated that the ore-forming fluid for the Longquanzhan gold deposit had mixed with meteoric water in the process of mineralization. This is consistent with the conclusion from the helium and argon isotope data.  相似文献

Helium, Sr, and Nd isotopic ratios and major and trace element compositions have been measured on a suite of lavas from the intra-plate volcanos of the Juan Fernandez Archipelago, Chile. Lavas from the islands of Mas Afuera and Mas a Tierra and from Monte Alpha and Friday seamounts have Sr and Nd isotopic ratios lying on the low143Nd/144Nd side of the mantle array (87Sr/86Sr:0.7034–0.7037;143Nd/144Nd:0.51281–0.51289). The homogeneity of these tracers suggests the involvement of a restricted range of mantle source compositions throughout Juan Fernandez volcanism. In marked contrast is the large range in3He/4He, from 7.8 to 18.0 RA. A bimodal3He/4He distribution on Mas a Tierra is associated with two distinct volcanic lineages;3He/4He ratios of 14.5–18.0 RA (n=15) occur in alkalic and tholeiitic shield basalts, whereas post-shield basanites range from 11.2 to 13.6 RA (n=12). Elemental and isotopic systematics demonstrate a transition from an enriched (Loihi-like) plume source in the shield lavas to a more MORB-like source in the post-shield volcanics. The transition between these sources is much more pronounced in3He/4He than in the other isotopic tracers. The predominantly tholeiitic basalts of Mas Afuera have exceptionally uniform isotopic and elemental characteristics; Sr and Nd ratios are similar to those of Mas a Tierra, but3He/4He ratios are lower and more uniform at 8.3±0.5 RA (n=17). The dramatic distinction between Mas Afuera and Mas a Tierra helium is surprising given the great similarity between the two islands in other geochemical characteristics. Both the Mas Afuera and Mas a Tierra results demonstrate that helium records systematic processes not readily apparent from other isotopic or elemental indicators. Neither magma chamber degassing nor local metasomatic events are likely to be responsible. We suggest that the observed variations may be attributed to mixing of plume and asthenospheric sources in which the plume component is characterized by a heterogeneous distribution of volatiles or has suffered extraction of small degree partial melts prior to mixing.  相似文献

内蒙古包头市哈达门沟金矿床是华北陆块北缘乌拉山-大青山地区的大型金矿床,矿床赋存于新太古界乌拉山群黑云角闪斜长片麻岩、角闪黑云二长片麻岩和含石榴石黑云斜长片麻岩中,成矿流体性质不明。文章对哈达门沟金矿主要载金矿物黄铁矿开展了流体包裹体中的He、Ar同位素组成研究。研究表明,赋存于黄铁矿流体包裹体中的4He含量为(83.92~606.46)×10-8cm3STP/g,n(3He)/n(4He)值为0.19~0.91Ra,幔源He的含量为2.62%~13.73%,平均为9.95%,表明成矿流体中的He主要来源于地壳,大约10%来源于地幔。~(40)Ar含量为(71.22~308.22)×10~(-8)cm~3STP/g,~(40)Ar/~(36)Ar比值变化于2793.6~7253.5之间,在n(~(40)Ar)/n(~(36)Ar)与R/Ra图解和n(~(40)Ar*)/n(4He)与R/Ra图解中,显示地壳氩和地幔氩的混合来源特征。结合已有的氢、氧、硫同位素研究,认为哈达门沟金矿成矿流体主体为地壳来源,但幔源流体的加入清晰可辨,乌拉特前旗-呼和浩特山前断裂很可能为富钾质壳幔混合流体的运移提供了通道和动力。  相似文献

We performed geochronological and geochemical analyses of the A-type granite in the Hongol area, central Inner Mongolia, to determine its age, petrogenesis and tectonic setting, which are significant for clarifying the Late Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the Xing'an Mongolian Orogenic Belt(XMOB). The rock type of the A-type granite in the Hongol area is alkali-feldspar granite, and it constitutes a western part of the Baiyinwula-Dongujimqin A-type granite belt. Zircon U-Pb geochronology yields ~(206)Pb/~(238)U ages ranging from 293 to 286 Ma for the alkali-feldspar granite, indicating this granitic pluton formed in the Early Permian. The alkali-feldspar granite is high in silica(SiO_2=75.13 wt%-80.17 wt%), aluminum(Al_2 O_3=10.59 wt%-13.17 wt%) and alkali(Na_2 O+K_2 O=7.33 wt%-9.11 wt%), and low in MgO(0.08 wt%-0.39 wt%) and CaO(0.19 wt%-0.70 wt%). It is obviously enriched in LILEs such as Rb, Th and K,depleted in HFSEs such as Nb, Ti, La and Ce, with pronounced negative anomalies of Nb, Ti, P, Eu, Sr and Ba. Its Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic compositions show positive ε_(Nd)(t)(+0.72-+3.08), low T_(DM2)(805-997 Ma),and high radioactive Pb with(~(206)Pb/~(204)Pb)_i of 18.710-19.304,(~(207)Pb/~(204)Pb)_i of 15.557-15.604 and(~(208)Pb/~(204)Pb)_i of 37.887-38.330. Petrological characteristics and geochemical data suggest that the alkalifeldspar granite in the Hongol area belongs to aluminous A-type granite. This A-type granite formed in a post-collisional extensional setting and was generated by the partial melting of felsic rocks in the middlelower crust resulting from post-collisional slab breakoff. It is suggested that the Paleo-Asian Ocean was closed before the Permian in central Inner Mongolia.  相似文献

The Huangshaping granites in Hunan Province, South China were investigated for their geochemical characteristics. Three types of granites have been petrographically identified: quartz porphyry, granophyre, and granite porphyry. Whole rock geochemistry suggests that the Huangshaping granites, especially the granite porphyry, exhibit typical A-type granite characteristics with their enrichment in Si, Rb, U, Th, and Nb and significant depletion in Ba, Sr, Ti, Eu, and P. Based on the Al, Y and Zr contents as well as the REE patterns of the rocks investigated, the quartz porphyry and the granophyre are classified as A1 type alkaline granites whereas the granite porphyry is considered as A2 type aluminous granite. Whole rock and quartz/feldspar O isotope data yields a wide range of δ18OSMOW values (11.09–26.32‰). The granites are characterized by high radiogenic Pb isotopic composition. The present-day whole rock Pb isotopic ratios are 206Pb/204Pb = 18.706–19.155, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.616–15.711 and 208Pb/204Pb = 38.734–39.296. Combining the O–Pb isotope compositions with major, trace and REE geochemistry and regional geology characteristics, the Huangshaping granites were determined to resemble within-plate granites that were mainly derived from a felsic infracrustal source related to continental extension. The magma source of the quartz porphyry and the granophyre may have been generated from deeper depths, and then ascended rapidly with limited water content and low oxygen fugacity, which contributed to Cu, Pb and Zn mineralization. On the other hand, the magma that generated the granite porphyry may have ascended relatively slower and experienced pronounced crystal fractionation, upper-crustal basement rock contamination (assimilation) and wall–rock interaction, producing the Sn- and W-rich granite porphyry. This study reveals the crustal extension process and associated magmatic–metallogenic activities during 180–150 Ma in South Hunan.  相似文献

The estimation of the mobility of ancient groundwater provides clues to a number of fundamental and applied problems. The U(Th)-He system is a promising tool for dating ancient waters. This study focused on the recently proposed method of the reconstruction of helium concentration in groundwater. The method is based on equilibrium in the mineral-water system which allows us to avoid direct sampling of water from boreholes. Some minerals contain excess helium migrating from the ambient groundwater into the internal helium-accessible volume (HAV) of grains. For this study, quartz was sampled from the sandstones of the 1000-m-thick Permian-Carboniferous sedimentary sequence of the Molasse Basin in northern Switzerland. The HAV of the quartz concentrate was determined via helium saturation of samples under controlled conditions and subsequent helium analysis as 0.066 ± 0.037% of the bulk sample volume (hereafter, mean values for the sequence are given). The measurement of helium concentration in initial samples allowed us to determine the partial pressure of helium in the gas phase of HAV as 0.47 ± 0.16 atm; the concentration of helium in the pore water was calculated as the product of pressure and the Henry solubility constant corresponding to the conditions of natural rock occurrence: 0.0036 ± 0.0016 cm3 STP (He)/cm3 (H2O). This estimate based on mineral-water equilibrium is in good agreement with the results of direct measurements if helium content in water from the two aquifers of the Permian-Carboniferous sequence of the Molasse Basin, where helium concentrations were found to be 0.0045 and 0.0016 cm3 STP (He)/cm3 (H2O). The obtained results validated the method. A necessary prerequisite for its application is the equilibrium of helium concentrations in the water-HAV system. The investigation of helium mobility in quartz grains (through the measurement of helium release rates from the grains under isothermal heating at different temperatures) allowed us to estimate the time of equilibration as approximately 103 yr, which is much shorter than the helium residence time in the Permian-Carboniferous sequence of the basin (more than 107 yr). We present new helium isotope data from the Macdonald seamount (Austral chain). The helium isotopic ratio varies from 4He/3He=45 000 (R/Ra=16.0) to 200 170 (R/Ra=3.6). The helium content is between 1.5×10?8 and 1.1×10?5 ccSTP/g. These helium results show clearly the presence of primitive mantle material in the source of the Austral chain. Macdonald has the lowest 4He/3He ratio among the Polynesian submarine volcanoes, except Hawaii (Loihi). The simplest explanation for the primitive helium signature is the presence under Macdonald of a mantle plume that derives either from the 670 km or 2900 km boundary layers, or, eventually, from the top of a large mantle dome resulting from a stratified two-layer convection. In the western Yangtze Block, widespread Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic rocks are the key to understanding the Precambrian tectonic-magmatic evolution of the region. However, their petrogenesis and tectonic setting are still controversial. In this paper, zircon U-Pb ages, Sm-Nd isotopic and whole-rock geochemical data are reported from selected fresh samples in the southern Dechang county, southwestern China, in order to constrain their emplacement age and magma source, as well as their petrogenesis and tectonic setting. They are mainly composed of biotite monzogranite, monzonitic granite, biotite granodiorites, and quartz diorite. Two ages of 1055 ± 43 Ma and 837.6 ± 3.8 Ma were obtained through zircon U-Pb dating by LA-ICP-MS and LA-MC-ICP-MS, respectively. According to their major element compositions, the Grenville-age granites are peraluminous calc-alkaline series calcic S-type granite. In contrast, the mid-Neoproterozoic granites are metaluminous calc-alkaline series alkalic I-type granite. Furthermore, the S-type granites are enriched in LREEs relative to HREEs with(La/Yb)_N ratios of 3.85–18.56 and underwent major fractionation with strongly negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu~* = 0.38–0.66). In the MORB-normalized trace element variation diagram, all the samples are enriched in Ce and large ion lithophile elements such as Rb, Th, and K, and depleted in high field strength elements such as Nb, and Ti, with negative Sr and Ti anomalies. The I-type granites are enriched in LREEs with slight negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu~* = 0.83–0.93). They are characterized by the enrichment of highly incompatible elements(such as K, Rb, Ba, Th) and LREEs, relative to MORB. Neodymium isotopic data show that the S-type granites display ~(143)Nd/(~(144) Nd) values of 0.51241–0.51256, and have ε_(Nd)(t = 1055 Ma) values of(-3.29) to(-3.81). Calculated t_(DM) ages yield values from 1.87 to 1.91 Ga with the t_(DM).2 stg ages of 1.86 to 1.9 Ga. The I-type granites have ~(143)Nd/(~(144) Nd) ratios between 0.51192 and 0.51195, corresponding to initial ε_(Nd)(t = 837 Ma) values of 1.22 to 5.63. Calculated t_(DM) ages yield values from 1.0 to 1.38 Ga and the t_(DM).2 stg ages yield values from 0.99 to 1.06 Ga. The S-type granites are distinguished as syn-collision granite, whereas the I-type granites were formed as arc magmas according to the Rb-(Yb+Ta) and R_1-R_2 tectonic discrimination diagrams. To conclude, there are two types of spatially associated granite, the Mesoproterozoic S-type granite which were derived from remelting of upper crustal mudstone and/or clastics and resulted from the convergence of two continental plates, and the mid-Neoproterozoic I-type granite which formed in continental arc and resulted from mantle-derived magma mixed crust material, in the western Yangtze Block. Furthermore, we suggest that collision between the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks occurred at about 1055 Ma, and caused the Stype granite. The I-type granite related to the subduction of oceanic lithosphere eastward underneath the Yangtze Block in the mid-Neoproterozoic.  相似文献

Late Paleozoic post-collisional granitoids are widespread in West Junggar,as well as northern Xinjiang.As a representative of those intrusions,the Jietebutiao granite occurs in the southwestern margin of the West Junggar(northwest China),and is mainly composed of mid-coarsegrained monzogranite and syenogranite.In the present study,we report the results of high-precision zircon laser-ablation-inductively-coupled plasma mass-spectrometry U-Pb dating on the Jietebutiao granite for the first time,and yield weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages of 287±9 Ma and 278±3 Ma for monzogranite and syenogranite,respectively.The Jietebutiao granite has a pronounced A-type affinity;it is metaluminous to slightly peraluminous;has a high-K calc-alkaline composition;high concentrations of Na2O + K2O,varying from 6.8 to 8.5 wt%;high FeOt/MgO;10 000a/Al ratios,a low CaO,MgO,and TiO2 content;enriched in some large ion lithophile elements(LILE,such as Rb and Th) and high field strength elements(HFSE,such as Zr,Hf,and Y);and depleted in Sr,Ba,and Ti.In addition,the granite has a relatively high rare earth element(REE) content(except for Eu), with significant negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu* = 0.01-0.72),and showing slight tetrad REE patterns and non-charge and radius controlled(CHARAC) trace element behavior.Petrographic,geochemical, and geochronological data suggest that the parental magma of Jietebutiao intrusions are of mixed origin,and are most probably formed by the interaction between the lower crust- and mantle-derived magmas in the Early Permian post-collisional tectonic setting.The basaltic magmas underplated and interacted with the lower crust that was dominated by deeply buried arc(and back-arc basin) series and the oceanic crust formed in the Paleozoic,and then triggered the partial melting of the juvenile lower crust,producing voluminous granitic melts and forming the Jietebutiao A2-typc monzogranites, with the lithospheric mantle progressively thinning and rifting to form A1-type granites,such as syenogranites,in the Jietebutiao pluton.This further proves the important contribution of Late Paleozoic granitic magmatism in terms of vertical crustal growth in northern Xinjiang.  相似文献
