A great deal of early-to-mid Early Cretaceous magmatic activities have been recorded in the Zhalantun area of Inner Mongolia, while the late Early to Late Cretaceous magmatic rocks have been barely reported(Guo et al.,2018;Zhang Xiangxin et al.,2017).At present, only a few Late Cretaceous magmatic activities were reported in the Arongqi area, such as volcanic rocks of the Gushanzhen Formation. However, the Gushanzhen Formation lacks accurate isotopic age,and contemporaneous intrusive rocks has not been reported yet.In this work,we collected the volcanic rocks from the Gushanzhen Formation and contemporaneous intrusive rocks in the Zhanlantun and nearby, and aim to figure out the formation ages of volcanic rocks of the Gushanzhen Formation and accompanied intrusive rocks by analyzing zircon U-Pb isotopes(Fig.1).  相似文献

Based on the fracture trace length distribution, conditions for the existence, uniqueness, and correctness of the fracture diameter distribution are given using Warburton’s fracture model. In particular, a solution for the fracture diameter distribution exists and is unique for all trace length probability density functions, h A (y), such that \(h_{A}(y)/\sqrt{y^{2}-x^{2}}\) is Lebesgue integrable on [x,∞). This condition is met by the uniform, exponential, gamma, lognormal, and power-law trace length distributions as well as by the trace length distributions that arise from a deterministic fracture diameter or from a discontinuous fracture diameter length distribution. Exponential, gamma, lognormal, and power-law trace length distributions satisfy necessary conditions for the diameter distribution to be non-negative, and necessary and sufficient conditions for the distribution to have unit integral over the real line. Negative values of the fracture diameter distribution arise when the trace has a uniform distribution and the lower bound of the fracture trace is greater than zero.  相似文献

The computation of sparse representations of data on the sphere (e.g. topographical data) is a crucial step for further processing such as multiple separation, migration, imaging and sparsity promoting data-recovery. The Easy Path Wavelet Transform (EPWT) is a new tool for sparse data representation that has recently been introduced for image compression. In this paper we consider the EPWT on spherical triangulations. It is a locally adaptive transform that works along pathways through the array of function values and exploits the local correlations of the data in a simple appropriate manner. In our approach the usual discrete one-dimensional orthogonal or biorthogonal wavelet transform can be applied. The EPWT can be used for defining a multiresolution analysis on the sphere in which the scaling spaces and the wavelet spaces depend adaptively on the data. Issues of implementation of the EPWT are also considered.  相似文献

The sign and the magnitude of the zeta potential must be known for many engineering applications. For clay soils, it is usually negative, but it is strongly dependent on the pore fluid chemistry. However, measurement of zeta potential time is time-consuming and requires special and expensive equipment. In this study, the prediction of zeta potential of kaolinite has been investigated by artificial neural networks (ANNs) and multiple regression analyses (MRAs). To achieve this, ANN and MRA models based on zeta potential measurements of kaolinite in the presence of salt and heavy metal cations at different pH values have been developed. The results of the models were compared with the experimental results. The performance indices, including coefficient of determination, root mean square error, mean absolute error, and variance, were used to assess the performance of the prediction capacity of the models developed in this study. The obtained indices make it clear that the constructed ANN models were able to predict zeta potential of kaolinite quite efficiently and outperformed the MRA models. Results showed that ANN models can be used satisfactorily to predict zeta potential of kaolinite as a rapid inexpensive substitute for laboratory techniques.  相似文献

We synthesize reaction rims between thermodynamically incompatible phases in the system MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 applying uniaxial load using a creep apparatus. Synthesis experiments are done in the MgO-SiO2 and in the MgO-Al2O3 subsystems at temperatures ranging from 1150 to 1350 °C imposing vertical stresses of 1.2 to 29 MPa at ambient pressure and under a constant flow of dry argon. Single crystals of synthetic and natural quartz and forsterite, synthetic periclase and synthetic corundum polycrystals are used as starting materials. We produce enstatite rims at forsterite-quartz contacts, enstatite-forsterite double rims at periclase-quartz contacts and spinel rims at periclase-corundum contacts. We find that rim growth under the “dry” conditions of our experiments is sluggish compared to what has been found previously in nominally “dry” piston cylinder experiments. We further observe that the nature of starting material, synthetic or natural, has a major influence on rim growth rates, where natural samples are more reactive than synthetic ones. At a given temperature the effect of stress variation is larger than what is anticipated from the modification of the thermodynamic driving force for reaction due to the storage of elastic strain energy in the reactant phases. We speculate that this may be due to modification of the physical properties of the polycrystals that constitute the reaction rims or by deformation under the imposed load. In our experiments rim growth is very sluggish at forsterite-quartz interfaces. Rim growth is more rapid at periclase-quartz contacts. The spinel rims that are produced at periclase-corundum interfaces show parabolic growth indicating that reaction rim growth is essentially diffusion controlled. From the analysis of time series done in the MgO-Al2O3 subsystem we derive effective diffusivities for the Al2O3 and the MgO components in a spinel polycrystal as ${\rm D}_{MgO} = 1.4 \pm 0.2 \cdot 10^{-15}$  m2/s and ${\rm D}_{Al_2O_3} = 3.7 \pm 0.6 \cdot 10^{-16}$  m2/s for T?=?1350 °C and a vertical stress of 2.9 MPa.  相似文献

Scale dependency is a critical topic when modeling spatial phenomena of complex geological patterns that interact at different spatial scales. A two-dimensional conditional simulation based on wavelet decomposition is proposed for simulating geological patterns at different scales. The method utilizes the wavelet transform of a training image to decompose it into wavelet coefficients at different scales, and then quantifies their spatial dependence. Joint simulation of the wavelet coefficients is used together with available hard and or soft conditioning data. The conditionally co-simulated wavelet coefficients are back-transformed generating a realization of the attribute under study. Realizations generated using the proposed method reproduce the conditioning data, the wavelet coefficients and their spatial dependence. Two examples using geological images as training images elucidate the different aspects of the method, including hard and soft conditioning, the ability to reproduce some non-linear features and scale dependencies of the training images.  相似文献

Two main deformational phases are recognised in the Archaean Boorara Domain of the Kalgoorlie Terrane, Eastern Goldfields Superterrane, Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia, primarily involving south-over-north thrust faulting that repeated and thickened the stratigraphy, followed by east-northeast – west-southwest shortening that resulted in macroscale folding of the greenstone lithologies. The domain preserves mid-greenschist facies metamorphic grade, with an increase to lower amphibolite metamorphic grade towards the north of the region. As a result of the deformation and metamorphism, individual stratigraphic horizons are difficult to trace continuously throughout the entire domain. Volcanological and sedimentological textures and structures, primary lithological contacts, petrography and geochemistry have been used to correlate lithofacies between fault-bounded structural blocks. The correlated stratigraphic sequence for the Boorara Domain comprises quartzo-feldspathic turbidite packages, overlain by high-Mg tholeiitic basalt (lower basalt), coherent and clastic dacite facies, intrusive and extrusive komatiite units, an overlying komatiitic basalt unit (upper basalt), and at the stratigraphic top of the sequence, volcaniclastic quartz-rich turbidites. Reconstruction of the stratigraphy and consideration of emplacement dynamics has allowed reconstruction of the emplacement history and setting of the preserved sequence. This involves a felsic, mafic and ultramafic magmatic system emplaced as high-level intrusions, with localised emergent volcanic centres, into a submarine basin in which active sedimentation was occurring.  相似文献

Approximation problems on the rotation group SO(3) naturally arise in various fields, like crystallography, chemistry, and biology. For example, in crystallographic texture analysis one is confronted with the problem of evaluating so-called orientation density functions (ODFs). In many situations one only has a finite number of measurements at scattered sampling nodes. In order to reconstruct ODFs over all rotations, so-called Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities on the rotation group are an important tool. These inequalities provide norm equivalences between polynomials on SO(3) and their sample values. Recently shown equivalences depend on a density parameter of the sampling set and the proven inequalities hold true for polynomials on SO(3) whose degree does not exceed an upper bound which is determined by this density parameter. In this paper, we show that we can enlarge this upper bound for the polynomial degree significantly if we are satisfied by such norm equivalences that hold with a given probability only. Moreover, we show that there are fixed sampling sets for which we get probabilistic Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities that hold for polynomials on SO(3) of all degrees.  相似文献

On the Elimination of Bias Averaging-Errors in Proxy Records   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0
Knowledge of and insight into past environmental conditions can be obtained by processing and analyzing proxies. The proxies need to be processed as precisely and accurately as possible, otherwise the conclusion of the analysis will be biased. A calibration method which reduces bias errors in the proxy measurements due to averaging is presented. Sampling with nonzero sample sizes causes an averaging of the true proxy signal over the volume of the sample. The method is applied on a linear synthetic record which results in an optimal correction for frequency components ranging from the dc-frequency (DC) to one half of the sample frequency (f s /2). Next, the method is tested on non-linear synthetic data where the signal is reconstructed reasonably well. Finally, the method is applied to a real vessel density record of R. mucronata from Makongeni, Kenya, and to a real delta deuterium record of ice core EDC from dome C, Antarctica. The method discussed in this paper is a valuable tool for the calibration of proxy measurements; it can be applied as a correction for low resolution measurements and expanded to other types of samples and proxies. Working with small sample sizes (high resolution) amounts to working near the detection limit, where the signal-to-noise-ratio is low. This correction method provides an alternative in which low resolution measurements can be upgraded to minimize the loss of information due to larger sample sizes.  相似文献

Environmental information of the past can be obtained by processing and analyzing proxies recorded by environmental archives. Natural archives are sampled at a distance grid along their accretion axis. Starting from these distance series, a time series needs to be constructed, because comparison of different data records is only meaningful on a time grid. However, distance–time relationships are nonlinear as the accretion rate of natural archives is dependent on environmental and physiological factors. Furthermore, in environmental archives, samples are taken over a volume in distance, rather than over a point in distance. This implies that the sample-values will be averaged over the volume of the sample. In this paper a method is proposed, which establishes the nonlinear distance–time relationship and corrects for the averaging effects. The method is built upon the assumption that the proxy record on a time axis is harmonic. If this is not the case, then a harmonic approximation is made. As a consequence of the nonlinear distance–time relationship, this harmonic proxy signal is nonlinearly distorted on a distance axis. As such, a harmonic signal model with a nonlinear phase distortion and an averaging effect is fitted on the data. Since environmental records are short data records, the statistical performance of the estimator on noisy data is verified by means of Monte Carlo simulations. The applicability of the method is demonstrated on the measurement of the vessel density, in a mangrove tree, Rhizophora mucronata, which is an indicator of the rainfall in tropical coastal ecosystems.  相似文献

The local analysis of signals arising on the sphere is a common task in earth sciences. On the real line the analytic signal turned out to be an important representation in local one-dimensional signal processing. Its generalization to two dimensions is the monogenic signal, and the properties of the analytic and the monogenic signal in the Fourier domain are well known. A generalization to the sphere is given by the Hilbert transform on the sphere known from Clifford analysis. To obtain a spectral characterization, the transform has to be decomposed into spherical harmonic functions. In this paper, we derive the spherical harmonic coefficients of the Hilbert transform on the sphere and give a series expansion. This will show that it acts as a differential operator on the spherical harmonic basis functions of the Laplace equation solution, analogously to the Riesz transform in two dimensions. This allows an interpretation of the Hilbert transform suitable for signal processing of signals naturally arising on the two-sphere. We show that the scale space naturally arising is a Poisson scale space in the unit ball. In addition, the obtained interpretation of the Hilbert transform is used for orientation analysis of plane waves. This representation is justified as a novel signal model on the sphere which can be used to construct intensity and rotation-invariant operators for local signal analysis in a scale-space concept.  相似文献

The Quaternary sediments in the Yili Basin can serve as archives for studying the Cenozoic basin–mountain relationship. In this study, based on typical natural sections and boreholes, the surficial sediments of the Huocheng area were studied, and their sedimentary ages were obtained using the optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) and electron spin resonance(ESR) dating methods. These dates, combined with changes in the sedimentary facies, provided details of the neotectonic movement in the Yili Basin and adjacent areas. By dating sediments from five sections and three boreholes, we determined that the surficial sediments of the Huocheng area were mainly formed in the Late Pleistocene, with scattered instances of Holocene sediments. The surficial sediments mainly consisted of alluvial fan facies, fluvial facies, lacustrine facies, and desert facies. Based on the activity on the Hongshanzui fault and the northern margin fault of the Wusun Mountains, the Huocheng area was uplifted synchronously with the Tianshan Mountains during the last stage of the Late Pleistocene, causing the desert facies sediments to be superimposed on the former paleo–lake sediments.  相似文献

Modeling fractured rocks with numerical methods requires some derived parameters, among which the fracture network connectivity and the size of the representative elementary volume (REV) are both of crucial importance. Percolation and REV analyses were made by the RepSim code. The program uses input parameters such as fractal dimension of the fracture midpoints (D c), length exponent (E) and relative dip (α r) data. For percolation analysis, the relative sizes of the largest percolation clusters have been calculated by stochastic realizations of the simulated fracture networks with different parameter triplets. Furthermore, fracture networks can be classified into three major types on the basis of their (E,D c,α r) parameters. For the REV calculations, the porosity of the generated fracture network was calculated. The derived REV size of a fracture network depends essentially on input parameters and shows a decreasing tendency with increasing D and E and vice versa. The method mentioned above was tested on both metamorphic samples of the Pannonian Basin and Variscan granitoid rocks of the Mórágy Complex. Percolation values predicted for the Mórágy granite are highly sensitive to alterations in the input parameters. The amphibolite bodies displayed a modeled fracture network with 80 to 90% of all fractures being interconnected, while the largest achievable percolation cluster size of gneiss is less than 10%. The REV size of the amphibolite is about 20 m as a result of connected fractures filling the whole body, while gneiss has lower porosity and higher REV (approximately 70 m).  相似文献

The paper deals with the approximation and optimal interpolation of functions defined on the bisphere \mathbb S2×\mathbb S2\mathbb {S}^{2}\times \mathbb {S}^{2} from scattered data. We demonstrate how the least square approximation to the function can be computed in a stable and efficient manner. The analysis of this problem is based on Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities for scattered data which we present here for the bisphere. The complementary problem of optimal interpolation is also solved by using well-localized kernels for our setting. Finally, we discuss the application of the developed methods to problems of texture analysis in material science.  相似文献

This paper presents a methodology to conduct geostatistical variography and interpolation on areal data measured over geographical units (or blocks) with different sizes and shapes, while accounting for heterogeneous weight or kernel functions within those units. The deconvolution method is iterative and seeks the point-support model that minimizes the difference between the theoretically regularized semivariogram model and the model fitted to areal data. This model is then used in area-to-point (ATP) kriging to map the spatial distribution of the attribute of interest within each geographical unit. The coherence constraint ensures that the weighted average of kriged estimates equals the areal datum. This approach is illustrated using health data (cancer rates aggregated at the county level) and population density surface as a kernel function. Simulations are conducted over two regions with contrasting county geographies: the state of Indiana and four states in the Western United States. In both regions, the deconvolution approach yields a point support semivariogram model that is reasonably close to the semivariogram of simulated point values. The use of this model in ATP kriging yields a more accurate prediction than a naïve point kriging of areal data that simply collapses each county into its geographic centroid. ATP kriging reduces the smoothing effect and is robust with respect to small differences in the point support semivariogram model. Important features of the point-support semivariogram, such as the nugget effect, can never be fully validated from areal data. The user may want to narrow down the set of solutions based on his knowledge of the phenomenon (e.g., set the nugget effect to zero). The approach presented avoids the visual bias associated with the interpretation of choropleth maps and should facilitate the analysis of relationships between variables measured over different spatial supports.  相似文献

The integration of detrital and magmatic U – Pb zircon SHIRMP geochronology with facies analysis has allowed the development of a chronostratigraphic framework for the Leichhardt and Calvert Superbasins of the Western Fold Belt, Mt Isa Inlier. This new event chart recognises three supersequences in the Leichhardt Superbasin: the Guide, Myally and Quilalar Supersequences. The Guide Supersequence spans the interval ca 1800 – 1785 Ma and includes the Bottletree Formation and the Mt Guide Quartzite. Sequence relationships suggest that this sedimentary package represents an asymmetric second-order cycle, recording a thickened transgressive suite of deposits and a comparatively thin second-order highstand. The overlying Myally Supersequence spans the interval ca 1780 – 1765 Ma and includes the Eastern Creek Volcanics and syndepositional Lena Quartzite, and the Myally Subgroup. This package represents a second-order supersequence cycle in which mafic volcanism was initiated during a phase of east – west extension. Following the cessation of volcanism, transgression led to the deposition of the Alsace Quartzite and deeper water Bortala Formation. An increase in the rate of sediment supply over accommodation resulted in progradation and deposition of the Whitworth Quartzite and redbed playa facies of the Lochness Formation as accommodation closed. The Quilalar Supersequence spans the interval ca 1755 – 1740 Ma. Sequence analysis in the eastern part of the Leichhardt River Fault Trough identifies a transgressive suite of facies at the base of this supersequence. Black shales from the upper part of the transgressive deposits characterise the condensed section for this supersequence. Facies analysis indicates that deposition took place in a series of storm-, tide- and wave-dominated shelfal marine depositional systems. Although there are no new depositional age constraints for the younger Bigie Formation, field relationships suggest that it is coeval with, or immediately preceded, the ca 1710 Ma Fiery magmatic event. Therefore, a separate supersequence is defined for the Bigie Formation, the Big Supersequence, even though it may be more genetically related to the Fiery magmatic event. The Big Supersequence, together with the ca 1690 Ma Prize Supersequence, comprise the Calvert Superbasin. The evolution of the Leichhardt and Calvert Superbasins are temporally and spatially related to magmatism. In particular, the new maximum depositional ages for the Guide and Myally Supersequences refine the age of the Eastern Creek Volcanics to ca 1780 – 1775 Ma. The new age for the Weberra Granite is within error of the age for the Fiery Creek Volcanics, indicating that they are both part of the ca 1710 Ma Fiery event. New ages for the Sybella Granite confirm that magmatism associated with this magmatic event is refined to 1680 – 1670 Ma, and is followed by deposition of the Gun Supersequence. Combining the new geochronological constraints with previous work now provides a detailed stratigraphic event framework between 1800 and 1575 Ma for the Western Fold Belt of the Mt Isa Inlier, and allows detailed comparisons and correlations with the Eastern Fold Belt and other Proterozoic terranes.  相似文献

The Lawn Hill circular structure in northwest Queensland contains unambiguous evidence of an extraterrestrial impact, including planar deformation features in quartz, impact diamonds, widespread shatter cone formation and impact melt breccia in the Mesoproterozoic basement. The question of its relevance to ore genesis is investigated because the world-class Century Zn – Pb deposit is situated at the conjunction of the 100+ km Termite Range Fault and the previously defined margin of the impact structure. The impact structure is considered to be a 19.5 km wide feature, this constrained in part by the outer margin of an annulus of brecciated and highly contorted limestone. New evidence is presented indicating impact into this Cambrian limestone, including: (i) ‘dykes’ of brecciated Cambrian limestone extending hundreds of metres into the Mesoproterozoic basement; (ii) highly contorted bedding in the limestone annulus compared with essentially undeformed limestone away from the impact site; as well as (iii) a 1 Mt megaclast of Mesoproterozoic Century-like ore suspended in the limestone. Through aerial photograph analysis, large-scale convoluted flow structures within the limestone are identified, and these are interpreted to indicate that parts of the Cambrian sequence may have been soft or only semi-consolidated at the time of impact. This highly contorted limestone bedding is suggested to represent slump-filling of an annular trough in response to impact-induced partial liquefaction of a sediment veneer. The age of impact is therefore considered to be concurrent with limestone formation during the Ordian to early Templetonian, at 520 – 510 Ma. Formation of the Century deposit is found to be unrelated to impact-generated hydrothermal activity, although some minor hydrothermal remobilisation of metals occurred. However, there was macro-scale remobilisation of gigantic ore fragments driven by impact-induced lateral and vertical injection of limestone into the Proterozoic sediments. The limestone-filled annular trough surrounds a 7.8 km diameter central uplift, consistent with formation of a complex crater morphology.  相似文献
