Prompted by the finding that the eucrite Piplia Kalan could have retained Pu fission Xe earlier than the eucrites so far studied and hence be very ancient, we have measured a precise internal 147Sm–143Nd isochron for this meteorite. The age and initial Nd ratio relative to CHUR are 4.570 ± 0.023 Ga and −1.3 ± 0.7 ϵu, respectively. A Rb–Sr whole rock (clast) isochron for this meteorite corresponds to an age of 3.963 ± 0.119 Ga and initial 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.69902 ± 3. But initial 87Sr/86Sr ratio calculated for an age of 4.57 Ga is 0.698956 ± 25, which is indistinguishable from 0.698970 ± 15 reported for the angrites LEW and ADOR dated at 4.5578 ± 0.0005 Ga. These results indicating that Piplia Kalan could have formed within only a few million years of the earliest condensates in the Solar System are strongly supported by the recent discovery of live 26Al in it.  相似文献

Sharang is a low-fluorine, calc-alkaline porphyry Mo deposit hosted mainly in a granite porphyry of a multi-stage plutonic complex in the northern Gangdese metallogenic belt, largely with stockwork and ribbon-textured mineralization. The observed age estimates suggest that the formation of the magmatic host complex (52.9–51.6 Ma) and the ore deposit itself (52.3 Ma) occurred during the main stage of the India–Asia collision. The host rocks are characterized by lower zircon εHf(t) values than those of the pre-ore and post-ore rocks. This suggests that the Lhasa terrane basement might play an important role in the formation of Sharang ore-forming intrusions. In view of the framework of magmatic–metallogenic events we suggest that slab roll-back may have induced melting of juvenile crust and ancient continental complexes during the India–Asia collision. This proposal focuses exploration for additional molybdenum deposits on the collision zone.  相似文献

The Qianlishan granite complex, situated 16 km southeast of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, China, hosts the Shizhuyuan W–Sn–Bi–Mo deposit. This complex, which intruded the Protozoic metasedimentary rocks and the Devonian clastic sedimentary and carbonate rocks, consists of mainly medium- to coarse-grained biotite granites and minor amounts of fine-grained biotite granite in addition to granite and quartz porphyry. K–Ar ages suggest three episodes of plutonism: the medium- to coarse-grained biotite granite (before 152 Ma), the fine-grained biotite granite (137 Ma), and the granite porphyry (129–131 Ma). Muscovite ages of the greisen are 145–148 Ma, suggesting that the W–Sn–Bi–Mo mineralization was related to the main, medium- to coarse-grained biotite granites. The K–Ar age of the hydrothermal vein mineralization is 92 Ma and is probably related to the porphyries.  相似文献

This paper summarizes the geology of the Paleozoic La Modesta Formation in Patagonia, Argentina, and presents new SHRIMP U–Pb dating of detrital zircons from muscovite-chlorite schist and tourmalinite. Also complementary geochemical and lead isotopic data are presented, indicating that the protoliths were formed from upper crustal rocks by the contribution of a large input from recycled (or felsic) sources. The maximum age of sedimentation of La Modesta Formation is about 446 ± 6 Ma. The basin closure (or eventually a paleocurrent shift) occurs at Lower Devonian before the exhumation of the Middle-Devonian granitoids of the Rio Deseado Complex (Deseado Massif). Many of the detrital zircons are igneous and record Ordovician ages, with a prominent Lower Ordovician-age peak at approximately 473 Ma. Most favourable candidates to provide the younger zircons in the basin would Ordovician granites of the Rio Deseado Complex (Deseado Massif) and Punta Sierra Plutonic Complex (Somun Cura Massif). Older zircons have peaks of different importance (including Brasiliano and Grenvillian ages) between 530 and 700, 750–1500, 1750–2000 and 2550–2700 Ma. La Modesta Formation is also a potential area of materials (detrital zircon) to the basin where the rocks of the Eastern Andean Metamorphic Complex and equivalent formations of the Andean region were generated.  相似文献

New U–Pb Zircon SHRIMP ages of 1091 ± 7.1 Ma and 1093.1 ± 5.8 Ma have been determined for two discrete phases of the Munster Suite. The Munster Suite is a calc-alkaline mafic to intermediate suite of intrusive igneous rocks that form part of the southern-most tectonic Terrane of the Mesoproterozoic-aged Natal Metamorphic Belt. Previously published geochemical data indicate that the discrete phases of the Suite are consanguineous and that these rocks originated within an oceanic island arc environment. The new age determinations now show that the different phases are also coeval. Moreover, the ages also indicate that the intrusions were, within statistical error, coeval with S-type granites within the Terrane. This is interpreted to indicate that magmatic underplating provided both the magma by way of a number of progressively more evolved pulses to produce the Munster Suite, as well as the heat necessary for crustal melting to produce the S-type granites within an island arc environment. Therefore, these new age determinations indicate a period of crustal growth at circa 1090 Ma. This moreover, is a maximum constraint on the age of the northward-verging structures within the Margate Terrane.  相似文献

Many studies have examined the Japan Sea basalts recovered during Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) Leg127/128. Of these, the 40Ar–39Ar dating undertaken is important in constraining the timing of the formation of the Japan Sea; however, the implications of their results do not appear to be fully appreciated by the geological community. In this paper, I reassess the 40Ar–39Ar age data of the basalts with reference to Nd–Sr isotopic data. The 40Ar–39Ar dating was performed on basalts somewhat enriched in large-ion lithophile elements and recovered from ODP Sites 794, 795 and the lower part of 797, yielding the plateau ages of 21.2–17.7 Ma. These basalts show the Nd–Sr isotopic signature of a moderately depleted mantle source (εNd: 0.6–6.9). In contrast, the basalts from the upper part of Site 797 have yet to be dated due to their low K content, although their Nd isotopic compositions are similar to that of MORB (εNd: 8.4–10.4). By analogy to the secular Nd–Sr isotopic trends reported for Sikhote-Alin and northeast Japan, the age of the upper basalts at Site 797 may be inferred to be younger than the lower basalts, probably around 16 Ma. The Nd–Sr isotopic compositions of the Japan Sea basalts have been interpreted in terms of eastward asthenospheric flow, as have the lavas of the Sikhote-Alin and northeastern Japan. The timing of volcanic activity in the Japan Sea region (i.e., from 21.2 to 14.86 Ma) is consistent with the timing of rotational crustal movements inferred from paleomagnetic studies of the Japanese Islands (i.e., 14.8–4.2 Ma for southwest Japan and 16.5–14.4 Ma for northeast Japan).  相似文献

The Eastern Tianshan Orogenic Belt of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and the Beishan terrane of the Tarim Block, NW China, host numerous Fe deposits. The Cihai Fe deposit (>90 Mt at 45.6 % Fe) in the Beishan terrane is diabase-hosted and consists of the Cihai, Cinan, and Cixi ore clusters. Ore minerals are dominantly magnetite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite, with minor chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite. Gangue minerals include pyroxene, garnet, hornblende and minor plagioclase, biotite, chlorite, epidotite, quartz, and calcite. Pyrite from the Cihai and Cixi ore clusters has similar Re–Os isotope compositions, with ~14 to 62 ppb Re and ≤10?ppt common Os. Pyrrhotite has ~5 to 39 ppb Re and ~0.6 ppb common Os. Pyrite has a mean Re–Os model age of 262.3?±?5.6 Ma (n?=?13), in agreement with the isochron regression of 187Os vs. 187Re. The Re–Os age (~262 Ma) for the Cihai Fe deposit is within uncertainty in agreement with a previously reported Rb–Sr age (268?±?25 Ma) of the hosting diabase, indicating a genetic relationship between magmatism and mineralization. Magnetite from the Cihai deposit has Mg, Al, Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Mn, Zn, Ga, and Sn more elevated than that of typical skarn deposits, but both V and Ti contents lower than that of magmatic Fe–Ti–V deposits. Magnetite from these two ore clusters at Cihai has slightly different trace element concentrations. Magnetite from the Cihai ore cluster has relatively constant trace element compositions. Some magnetite grains from the Cixi ore cluster have higher V, Ti, and Cr than those from the Cihai ore cluster. The compositional variations of magnetite between the ore clusters are possibly due to different formation temperatures. Combined with regional tectonic evolution of the Beishan terrane, the Re–Os age of pyrite and the composition of magnetite indicate that the Cihai Fe deposit may have derived from magmatic–hydrothermal fluids related to mafic magmatism, probably in an extensional rift environment.  相似文献

K–Ca ages of Cambrian glauconites from the Llano uplift, central Texas, were determined in order to re-evaluate the ability of the K–Ca system to constrain the timing of deposition of sedimentary packages. All of the K–Ca ages presented here were found to be younger than their stratigraphic ages. In addition to being too young, the K–Ca ages are also highly variable, ranging in age from Silurian to Permian. The oldest subset of glauconite ages are in agreement with previously published Rb–Sr ages from the same outcrop and provide further evidence for there having been a post-depositional thermal or recrystallization event that reset both the Rb–Sr and K–Ca systems. The range of younger glauconite K–Ca ages is similar to the distribution of available apatite fission track ages for the Llano basement. K–Ca ages are interpreted as thermochronologic data reflecting partial retention of Ca in thermally fluctuating basin conditions. Estimates of the closure temperature of Ca in glauconite are found to be 60–90°C for cooling rates of ~0.5–1°C/My. The K–Ca system is potentially useful as a low-temperature thermochronometer with closure temperatures <100°C for glauconite.  相似文献

The Wajilitag and Puchang igneous complexes host two known economic Fe–Ti oxide deposits in the recently recognized Tarim large igneous province (TLIP). The Wajilitag complex comprises clinopyroxenite and melagabbro, whereas the Puchang complex is generally gabbroic and anorthositic in lithology apart from minor plagioclase-bearing clinopyroxenites in the marginal contact zone. The Fe–Ti oxide ores are disseminated throughout the Wajilitag complex and principally restricted to the ultramafic unit, whereas the Puchang complex contains massive to disseminated Fe–Ti oxide ores mainly hosted within the gabbroic rocks. Both secondary ion mass spectroscopy and laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry U–Pb dating of zircon grains from the Wajilitag and Puchang complexes yield U–Pb zircon ages of ca. 283 Ma and ca. 275 Ma, respectively, clearly indicating that there were two independent episodes of the magmatic events related to Fe–Ti oxide mineralization in the TLIP. The new zircon U–Pb ages of intrusive rocks studied here, coupled with available geochronological data from elsewhere in the TLIP, show a long duration of magmatism (up to 30 Myr), although the precise age of the TLIP remains to be determined. The two complexes are late-stage events that notably postdate most, if not all, the basaltic lava flows. Furthermore, the occurrence of the earliest manifestation (e.g., ca. 300 Ma kimberlitic rocks) of a proposed mantle plume in the Bachu area and the potential temporal migration of the late-stage magmatism from the Bachu and Keping areas to the edges of the Tarim Craton, indicate a possible plume centre near the Bachu–Keping district. The εHf(t) values of zircons from each complex show a range of several εHf(t) units (Wajilitag: + 2.7 to + 9.2, Puchang: − 5.2 to + 2.6), probably suggesting late-stage crustal contamination in magma chambers at the time of zircon saturation. Unlike the Lu–Hf isotopic system, the zircons may preserve the original O isotope signature of their mantle sources. The increase of O isotopic composition from the Wajilitag complex (δ18O = 5.2–5.9‰) to the Puchang complex (δ18O = 5.6–7.1‰), indicates a relatively high proportion of recycled subduction-related materials (e.g., eclogite and garnet pyroxenite) incorporated into the subcontinental lithospheric mantle source for the Puchang intrusive rocks. Partial melting of the refertilized subcontinental lithospheric mantle with the involvement of garnet-bearing mafic components can be of great importance for the formation of parental Fe-rich magmas and ultimately Fe–Ti oxide deposits. This observation is consistent with the occurrence of some mineralized LIPs (e.g., Emeishan) in formerly active convergent plate margins of ancient cratonic blocks, contributing to a global understanding valuable to exploration efforts.  相似文献

We conducted geochemical and isotopic studies on the Oligocene–Miocene Niyasar plutonic suite in the central Urumieh–Dokhtar magmatic belt, in order better to understand the magma sources and tectonic implications. The Niyasar plutonic suite comprises early Eocene microdiorite, early Oligocene dioritic sills, and middle Miocene tonalite + quartzdiorite and minor diorite assemblages. All samples show a medium-K calc-alkaline, metaluminous affinity and have similar geochemical features, including strong enrichment of large-ion lithophile elements (LILEs, e.g. Rb, Ba, Sr), enrichment of light rare earth elements (LREEs), and depletion in high field strength elements (HFSEs, e.g. Nb, Ta, Ti, P). The chondrite-normalized rare earth element (REE) patterns of microdiorite and dioritic sills are slightly fractionated [(La/Yb)n = 1.1–4] and display weak Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.72–1.1). Isotopic data for these mafic mantle-derived rocks display ISr = 0.70604–0.70813, ?Nd (microdiorite: 50 Ma and dioritic sills: 35 Ma, respectively) = +1.6 and ?0.4, TDM = 1.3 Ga, and lead isotopic ratios are (206Pb/204Pb) = 18.62–18.57, (207Pb/204Pb) = 15.61–15.66, and (208Pb/204Pb) = 38.65–38.69. The middle Miocene granitoids (18 Ma) are also characterized by relatively high REE and minor Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.77–0.98) and have uniform initial 87Sr/86Sr (0.7065–0.7082), a range of initial Nd isotopic ratios [?Nd(T)] varying from ?2.3 to ?3.7, and Pb isotopic composition (206Pb/204Pb) = 18.67–18.94, (207Pb/204Pb) = 15.63–15.71, and (208Pb/204Pb) = 38.73–39.01. Geochemical and isotopic evidence for these Eocene–Ologocene mafic rocks suggests that the magmas originated from lithospheric mantle with a large involvement of EMII component during subduction of the Neotethyan ocean slab beneath the Central Iranian plate, and were significantly affected by crustal contamination. Geochemical and isotopic data of the middle Miocene granitoids rule out a purely crustal-derived magma genesis, and suggest a mixed mantle–crustal [MASH (melting, assimilation, storage, and homogenization)] origin in a post-collision extensional setting. Sr–Nd isotope modelling shows that the generation of these magmas involved ~60% to 70% of a lower crustal-derived melt and ~30% to 40% of subcontinental lithospheric mantle. All Niyasar plutons exhibit transitional geochemical features, indicating that involvement of an EMII component in the subcontinental mantle and also continental crust beneath the Urumieh–Dokhtar magmatic belt increased from early Eocene to middle Miocene time.  相似文献

The Miocene porphyry Cu–(Mo) deposits in the Gangdese orogenic belt in southern Tibet were formed in a post-subduction collisional setting. They are closely related to the Miocene adakite-like porphyries which were probably derived from a thickened basaltic lower crust. Furthermore, mantle components have been considered to have played a crucial role in formation of these porphyry deposits (Hou et al. Ore Geol Rev 36: 25–51, 2009; Miner Deposita doi:10.1007/s00126-012-0415-6, 2012). In this study, we present zircon Hf isotopes and molybdenite Re–Os ages on the newly discovered Gangjiang porphyry Cu–Mo deposit in southern Tibet to constrain the magma source of the intrusions and the timing of mineralization. The Gangjiang porphyry Cu–Mo deposit is located in the Nimu ore field in the central Gangdese porphyry deposits belt, southern Tibet. The copper and molybdenum mineralization occur mainly as disseminations and veins in the overlapped part of the potassic and phyllic alteration zones, and are predominantly hosted in the quartz monzonite stock and in contact with the rhyodacite porphyry stock. SIMS zircon U–Pb dating of the pre-mineral quartz monzonite stock and late intra-mineral rhyodacite porphyry yielded ages of 14.73?±?0.13 Ma (2σ) and 12.01?±?0.29 Ma (2σ), respectively. These results indicate that the magmatism could have lasted as long as about 2.7 Ma for the Gangjiang deposit. The newly obtained Re–Os model ages vary from 12.51?±?0.19 Ma (2σ) to 12.85?±?0.18 Ma (2σ) for four molybdenite samples. These Re–Os ages are roughly coincident with the rhyodacite porphyry U–Pb zircon age, and indicate a relatively short-lived episode of ore deposition (ca. 0.3 Ma). In situ Hf isotopic analyses on zircons by using LA-MC-ICP-MS indicate that the ε Hf(t) values of zircons from a quartz monzonite sample vary from +2.25 to +4.57 with an average of +3.33, while zircons from a rhyodacite porphyry sample vary from +5.53 to +7.81 with an average of +6.64. The Hf data indicate that mantle components could be partly involved in the deposit formation, and that mantle contributions might have increased over time from ca. 14.7 to 12.0 Ma. Combined with previous works, it is proposed that the Gangjiang deposit could have resulted from the convective thinning of the lithospheric root, and the input of upper mantle components into the magma could have played a key role in the formation of the porphyry deposits in the Miocene Gangdese porphyry copper belt in the Tibetan Orogen.  相似文献

The southern Rheinisches Schiefergebirge, which is part of the Rhenohercynian zone of the Central European Variscides, exhibits several allochthonous units: the Gießen-, and the Hörre nappe, and parts of the Frankenbach imbrication zone. These units were thrust over autochthonous and par-autochthonous volcano-sedimentary complexes of the Lahn and Dill–Eder synclines. This paper reports a representative data set of U–Pb LA–SF–ICP–MS ages of 1067 detrital zircon grains from Devonian and Lower Carboniferous siliciclastic sediments of the autochthonous and the allochthonous areas, respectively. The cluster of U–Pb ages from the allochthonous units points to a provenance in the Saxothuringian zone. Zircon populations from the Saxothuringian zone are representative of a Gondwanan hinterland and are characterized by age clusters of ~ 530–700 Ma, ~ 1.8–2.2 Ga, ~ 2.5–2.7 Ga, and ~ 3.0–3.4 Ga. Further samples were taken from the autochthonous and par-autochthonous units of the Lahn–Dill and Kellerwald areas. A Lower Devonian sandstone sample from the Siegen anticline provides a reference for siliciclastic sediments derived from the Old Red Continent. These samples show a provenance representative of Laurussia with debris primarily derived from Baltica and Avalonia. U–Pb zircon age clusters occur at ~ 400–450 Ma, 540–650 Ma, 1.0–1.2 Ga, ~ 1.4–1.5 Ga, ~ 1.7–2.2 Ga, and 2.3–2.9 Ga. Provenance analysis and geochemical data of the Rhenohercynian zone provide new information on the evolution of magmatic arcs in the Mid-Paleozoic. The data set constrains top-SE and top-NW directed subduction of the oceanic crust of the Rheic Ocean. Subduction-related volcanism lasted from the Early Devonian to the Early Carboniferous and thus confirms the existence of the Rheic Ocean until the Early Carboniferous. The tectonic model outlined for the Rhenohercynian zone suggests a wide Rheic Ocean.  相似文献

The Kukaazi Pb–Zn–Cu–W polymetallic deposit, located in the Western Kunlun orogenic belt, is a newly discovered skarn-type deposit. Ore bodies mainly occur in the forms of lenses and veins along beddings of the Mesoproterozoic metamorphic rocks. Three ore blocks, KI, KII, and KIII, have been outlined in different parts of the Kukaazi deposit in terms of mineral assemblages. The KI ore block is mainly composed of chalcopyrite, scheelite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, galena and minor pyrite, arsenopyrite, and molybdenite, whereas the other two ore blocks are made up of galena, sphalerite, magnetite and minor arsenopyrite and pyrite. In this study, we obtained a molybdenite isochron Re–Os age of 450.5 ± 6.4 Ma (2σ, MSWD = 0.057) and a scheelite Sm–Nd isochron age of 426 ± 59 Ma (2σ, MSWD = 0.49) for the KI ore block. They are broadly comparable to the ages of granitoid in the region. Scheelite grains from the KI ore block contain high abundances of rare earth elements (REE, 42.0–95.7 ppm) and are enriched in light REE compared to heavy REE, with negative Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.13–0.55). They display similar REE patterns and Sm/Nd ratios to those of the coeval granitoids in the region. Moreover, they also have similar Sr and Nd isotopes [87Sr/86Sr = 0.7107–0.7118; εNd(t) = ?4.1 to ?4.0] to those of such granitoids, implying that the tungsten-bearing fluids in the Kukaazi deposit probably originate from the granitic magmas. Our results first defined that the Early Paleozoic granitoids could lead to economic Mo–W–(Cu) mineralization at some favorable districts in the Western Kunlun orogenic belt and could be prospecting exploration targets.  相似文献

K–Ar dating of mineral separates extracted from various granitoid rock units of the eastern Pontides and central Anatolia, Turkey, has provided some new insights unravelling various stages of the Neo-Tethyan convergence system, which evolved with northward subduction between the Eurasian plate (EP) to the north and the Tauride-Anatolide platform (TAP) to the south along the İzmir-Ankara-Erzincan suture (IAES) zone. Arc-related granitoid rocks are only encountered in the eastern Pontides and yield K–Ar cooling ages of both Early Cretaceous (138.5 ± 2.2 Ma) (early arc), and Late Cretaceous, ranging from 75.7 ± 0.0 to 66.5 ± 1.5 Ma (mature arc), respectively. The multi-sourced granitoids of the eastern Pontides, with a predominant mantle component and K–Ar ages between 40 and 50 Ma, are considered to be a part of post-collisional slab break-off magmatism accompanied by tectonic denudation of pre-Late Cretaceous granitoid rocks following juxtaposition of the EP and the TAP around 55–50 Ma in the eastern Pontides. The K–Ar cooling ages of collision-related S-, I- and A-type granitoids in central Anatolia reflect good synchronism between 80 and 65 Ma, suggesting a coeval genesis in a unique geodynamic setting but with derivation from various sources—namely, purely crustal, purely mantle and/or of mixed origin. This sort of simultaneous generation model for these S-I-A-type intrusives seems to be consistent with a post-collisional lithospheric detachment related geodynamic setting. I-type granodioritic to tonalitic intrusives with K–Ar cooling ages ranging from 40 to 48 Ma in east-central Anatolia are interpreted to have been derived from a post-collisional, within-plate, extension-related geodynamic setting following the amalgamation of the EP and the TAP in east-central Anatolia.  相似文献

The Solonker zone in northern Inner Mongolia (China) is considered as the suture between the North China Craton and the South Mongolian microcontinent. Two magmatic belts are recognized along the suture zone: a subduction-related magmatic belt (represented by the Baolidao arc rocks), and a younger, collision-related granite belt (represented by the Halatu granites). We use zircon U–Pb ages, zircon in-situ Hf isotopic analyses and whole-rock Nd–Sr isotopic data of the two magmatic belts and related forearc sediments (the Xilinhot metamorphic complex) to constrain timing of the suturing and to discuss the petrogenesis of the magmatic rocks. A gabbroic diorite (BLD-1) of the Baolidao arc was dated at 310 ± 5 Ma (by SHRIMP). This sample shows an εNd(t) value of +2.5 and ISr of 0.7052. Hf isotopic analyses on 25 zircons from the same sample show εHf(t) = +5.4 to +11.5. Another diorite sample (XH-2) of the same arc from south of Xilinhot displays even more “depleted” isotopic compositions, with εNd(t) = +5.6 and ISr = 0.7037. The main population of zircons from this sample have highly variable and depleted Hf isotopic compositions (εHf(t) = 0–18.3). The large variation in Hf isotopic composition of zircons (with largely the same crystallization age) from a single pluton is explained by a mixing process between depleted mantle-derived magma and continental crust in an active continental arc setting. The Halatu granite (HLT-2) was dated at 234 ± 7 Ma (by SHRIMP). Zircons from the granite also show a large variation of εHf(t) values (+9.1 to ?26), despite most samples having whole-rock εHf(t) > +2. The large variation in εHf(t) values suggests that the granite formed probably by partial melting of two source regions – a dominant juvenile crust and a subordinate old continental crust. Most zircons from the Xilinhot metamorphic complex show ages comparable with those of the Baolidao arc rocks, suggesting that the protolith of the metamorphic complex was probably deposited during or after arc magmatism. Some zircons, however, show Precambrian ages that fall into two groups: one with ages of 780–900 Ma, resembling those from the South Mongolian microcontinent, and the other with ages of 1524–2900 Ma, similar to those of the North China Craton. Thus, the protolith of the metamorphic complex probably formed in a forearc basin during convergence of the two continents, and metamorphosed subsequently during collision in the late Paleozoic. Our zircon age data thus constrain timing of collision between the South Mongolian microcontinent and the North China Craton to have been between 296 and 234 Ma.  相似文献

The Yinan gold deposit in the Luxi area of Shandong Province in northeastern China is a skarn-type ore deposit. In this article, we present results from sulphur, lead, carbon–oxygen, and helium–argon isotope chemistry to characterize the ore genesis and source features. We also present rhenium–osmium ages from molybdenite to evaluate the timing of ore formation. The δ34S values of pyrite from the ore deposit range from 0.7‰ to 5.60‰ with a mean at 2.70‰, close to mantle and meteorite sulphur. Among Pb isotopes, 206Pb/204Pb values range from 18.375 to 18.436, 207Pb/204Pb values from 15.694 to 15.8, and 208Pb/204Pb values from 38.747 to 39.067. The δ13C values of calcite associated with the ores range from ?0.2‰ to ?0.5‰ and their δ18O values show variation from 9.4‰ to 12.6‰, suggesting a mixed fluid source. The 3He/4He and 40Ar/36Ar ratios of fluids trapped in pyrite are in the range of 0.27–1.11 Ra and 439.4–826, respectively, with calculated proportion of the mantle-derived He ranging from 3.25% to 14.03% and atmosphere argon ranging from 35.8% to 67.3%. The data suggest that the ore-forming fluids were derived from the crust and were mixed with a distinct contribution of mantle helium. The Re and Os values vary from 32 × 10?6 to 93.02 × 10?6 and from 0.01 × 10?9 to 0.34 × 10?9, respectively. The model ages of molybdenite range from 126.96 ± 1.82 Ma to 129.49 ± 2.04 Ma, with a weighted mean age of 128.08 ± 0.75 Ma and isochron age of 130.3 ± 3 Ma. These ages are close to the age of the associated quartz diorite porphyrite pluton, suggesting a close relationship between Cretaceous magmatism and metallogeny in NE China. A comparison of the Yinan gold deposit in the Luxi area with those of the Jiaodong area shows that the contrast in metallogenic features between the two are linked with the tectonic and geodynamic history.  相似文献

TPost-orogenic intrusive complexes from the Sulu belt of eastern China consist of pyroxene monzonites and dioritic porphyrites. We report new U–Pb zircon ages, geochemical data, and Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic data for these rocks. Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry U–Pb zircon analyses yielded a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 127.4 ± 1.2 Ma for dioritic porphyrites, consistent with crystallization ages (126 Ma) of the associated pyroxene monzonites. The intrusive complexes are characterized by enrichment in light rare earth elements and large ion lithophile elements (i.e. Rb, Ba, Pb, and Th) and depletion in heavy rare earth elements and high field strength elements (i.e. Nb, Ta, P, and Ti), high (87Sr/86Sr)i ranging from 0.7083 to 0.7093, low ?Nd(t) values from ?14.6 to ? 19.2, 206Pb/204Pb = 16.65–17.18, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.33–15.54, and 208Pb/204Pb = 36.83–38.29. Results suggest that these intermediate plutons were derived from different sources. The primary magma-derived pyroxene monzonites resulted from partial melting of enriched mantle hybridized by melts of foundered lower crustal eclogitic materials before magma generation. In contrast, the parental magma of the dioritic porphyrites was derived from partial melting of mafic lower crust beneath the Wulian region induced by the underplating of basaltic magmas. The intrusive complexes may have been generated by subsequent fractionation of clinopyroxene, potassium feldspar, plagioclase, biotite, hornblende, ilmenite, and rutile. Neither was affected by crustal contamination. Combined with previous studies, these findings provide evidence that a Neoproterozoic batholith lies beneath the Wulian region.  相似文献

U–Pb detrital zircon geochronology from Lower Devonian quartz arenites of the northwestern margin of the Yangtze block yields dominant early Neoproterozoic (0.85–1.0 Ga), Pan-African (0.5–0.65 Ga) and middle Neoproterozoic (0.68–0.8 Ga) age populations and minor Mesoproterozoic to middle Mesoarchean (1.0–3.0 Ga) ages. Middle Mesoarchean to Mesoproterozoic rocks, however, are widespread in the South China block. Although Hf isotopic compositions show both juvenile crustal growth and crustal reworking for all the age groupings, the crust growth, essentially mantle-derived, occurred mainly around 3.1 Ga, 1.9 Ga and 1.0 Ga, respectively. Zircon typology and youngest grain ages indicate that this suite of quartz arenites was the product of multiphase reworking. Abundant magmatic zircon detritus with concordant U–Pb Grenvillian and Pan-African ages, together with accompanying various εHf(t) values, indicate an exotic provenance for the quartz arenite external to the South China block. Qualitative comparisons of age spectra for the late Neoproterozoic sediments of the Cathaysian Block, early Paleozoic sediments of pre-rift Tethyan Himalaya sequence in North India and lower Paleozoic sandstone from the Perth Basin in West Australia, show that they all have two the largest age clusters representing Grenvillian and Pan-African orogenic episodes. The resemblance of these age spectra and zircon typology suggests that the most likely source for the Lower Devonian quartz arenites of the South China block was the East African Orogen and Kuunga Orogen for their early Grenvillian and Pan-African populations, whereas the Hannan–Panxi arc, Jiangnan orogen, and the Yangtze block basements might have contributed to the detrital zircon grains of the Neoproterozoic and Pre-Grenvillian ages. Hf isotopic data indicate that the crustal evolution of the drainage area matches well with the episodic crust generation of Gondwana. These results imply that the previously suggested position of the SCB in Gondwana should be re-evaluated, and the South China block should be linked with North India and West Australia as a part of East Gondwana during the assembly of Gondwana, rather than a discrete continent block in the paleo-Pacific.  相似文献
