The paper reports original thermochemical data on six natural amphibole samples of different composition. The data were obtained by high-temperature melt solution calorimetry in a Tian–Calvet microcalorometer and include the enthalpies of formation from elements for actinolite Ca1.95(Mg4.4Fe 0.5 2+ Al01)[Si8.0O22](OH)2(–12024 ± 13 kJ/mol) and Ca2.0(Mg2.9Fe 1.9 2+ Fe 0.2 3+ )[Si7.8Al0.2O22](OH)2, (–11462 ± 18 kJ/mol), and Na0.1Ca2.0(Mg3.2Fe 1.6 2+ Fe 0.2 3+ )[Si7.7Al0.3O22](OH)2 (–11588 ± 14 kJ/mol); for pargasite Na0.5K0.5Ca2.0-(Mg3.4Fe 1.8 2+ Al0.8)[Si6.2Al1.8O22](OH)2 (–12316 ± 10 kJ/mol) and Na0.8K0.2Ca2.0(Mg2.8Fe 1.3 3+ Al0.9) [Si6.1Al1.9O22](OH)2 (–12 223 ± 9 kJ/mol); and for hastingsite Na0.3K0.2Ca2.0(Mg0.4Fe 1.3 2+ Fe 0.9 3+ Al0.2) [Si6.4Al1.6O22](OH)2 (?10909 ± 11 kJ/mol). The standard entropy, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy of formation are estimated for amphiboles of theoretical composition: end members and intermediate members of the isomorphic series tremolite–ferroactinolite, edenite–ferroedenite, pargasite–ferropargasite, and hastingsite.  相似文献

Kinetic studies of isothermal heating experiments (600–800° C) on aluminous pyroxenes (Mg0.942Fe 0.880 2+ Fe 0.068 3+ Mn0.016Ca0.010Al0.084) (Si1.848Al0.152) permit the determination of rate constant of isothermal disordering as 2.5457 E13(±1.4 E13) min?1. The activation energy is determined as 278 (±23) kJ/mol. Data on two other aluminous pyroxenes at 700° C indicate that the rate constant decreases significantly with increasing amount of trivalent cations. There is a similar but reverse correlation between the concentration of trivalent cations and the Fe2+-Mg equilibrium distribution between sites. The site distribution coefficient increases with increasing concentration of trivalent cations at constant temperature.  相似文献

Batisivite has been found as an accessory mineral in the Cr-V-bearing quartz-diopside metamorphic rocks of the Slyudyanka Complex in the southern Baikal region, Russia. A new mineral was named after the major cations in its ideal formula (Ba, Ti, Si, V). Associated minerals are quartz, Cr-V-bearing diopside and tremolite; calcite; schreyerite; berdesinskiite; ankangite; V-bearing titanite; minerals of the chromite-coulsonite, eskolaite-karelianite, dravite-vanadiumdravite, and chernykhite-roscoelite series; uraninite; Cr-bearing goldmanite; albite; barite; zircon; and unnamed U-Ti-V-Cr phases. Batisivite occurs as anhedral grains up to 0.15–0.20 mm in size, without visible cleavage and parting. The new mineral is brittle, with conchoidal fracture. Observed by the naked eye, the mineral is black and opaque, with a black streak and resinous luster. Batisivite is white in reflected light. The microhardness (VHN) is 1220–1470 kg/mm2 (load is 30 g), the mean value is 1330 kg/mm2. The Mohs hardness is near 7. The calculated density is 4.62 g/cm3. The new mineral is weakly anisotropic and bireflected. The measured values of reflectance are as follows (λ, nm—R max /R min ): 440—17.5/17.0; 460—17.3/16.7; 480—17.1/16.5; 500—17.2/16.6; 520—17.3/16.7; 540—17.4/16.8; 560—17.5/16.8; 580—17.6/16.9; 600—17.7/17.1; 620—17.7/17.1; 640—17.8/17.1; 660—17.9/17.2; 680—18.0/17.3; 700—18.1/17.4. Batisivite is triclinic, space group P \(\overline 1\); the unit-cell dimensions are: a = 7.521(1) Å, b = 7.643(1) Å, c = 9.572(1) Å, α = 110.20°(1), β = 103.34°(1), γ = 98.28°(1), V = 487.14(7) Å3, Z = 1. The strongest reflections in the X-ray powder diffraction pattern [d, Å (I, %)(hkl)] are: 3.09(8)(12\(\overline 2\)); 2.84, 2.85(10)(021, 120); 2.64(8)(21\(\overline 3\)); 2.12(8)(31\(\overline 3\)); 1.785(8)(32\(\overline 4\)), 1.581(10)(24\(\overline 2\)); 1.432, 1.433(10)(322, 124). The chemical composition (electron microprobe, average of 237 point analyses, wt %) is: 0.26 Nb2O5, 6.16 SiO2, 31.76 TiO2, 1.81 Al2O3, 8.20 VO2, 26.27 V2O3, 12.29 Cr2O3, 1.48 Fe2O3, 0.08 MgO, 11.42 BaO; the total is 99.73. The VO2/V2O3 ratio has been calculated. The simplified empirical formula is (V 4.8 3+ Cr2.2V 0.7 4+ Fe0.3)8.0(Ti5.4V 0.6 4+ )6.0[Ba(Si1.4Al0.5O0.9)]O28. An alternative to the title formula could be a variety (with the diorthogroup Si2O7) V8Ti6[Ba(Si2O7)]O22. Batisivite probably pertains to the V 8 3+ Ti 6 4+ [Ba(Si2O)]O28-Cr 8 3+ Ti 6 4+ [Ba(Si2O)]O28 solid solution series. The type material of batisivite has been deposited in the Fersman Mineralogical Museum, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow.  相似文献

The crystal structures of synthetic K-dravite [XKYMg 3 Z Al 6 T Si6O18(BO3) 3 V (OH) 3 W (OH)], dravite [XNaYMg 3 Z Al 6 T Si6O18(BO3) 3 V (OH) 3 W (OH)], oxy-uvite [XCaYMg 3 Z Al 6 T Si6O18(BO3) 3 V (OH) 3 W O], and magnesio-foitite [X?Y(Mg2Al)ZAl 6 T Si6O18(BO3) 3 V (OH) 3 W (OH)] are investigated by polarized Raman spectroscopy, single-crystal structure refinement (SREF), and powder X-ray diffraction. The use of compositionally simple tourmalines characterized by electron microprobe analysis facilitates the determination of site occupancy in the SREF and band assignment in the Raman spectra. The synthesized K-dravite, oxy-uvite, and magnesio-foitite have significant Mg–Al disorder between their octahedral sites indicated by their respective average 〈Y–O〉 and 〈Z–O〉 bond lengths. The Y- and Z-site compositions of oxy-uvite (YMg1.52Al1.48(10) and ZAl4.90Mg1.10(15)) and magnesio-foitite (YAl1.62Mg1.38(18) and ZAl4.92Mg1.08(24)) are refined from the electron densities at each site. The Mg–Al ratio of the Y and Z sites is also determined from the relative integrated peak intensities of the Raman bands in the O–H stretching vibrational range (3250–3850 cm?1), producing values in good agreement with the SREF data. The unit cell volume of tourmaline increases from magnesio-foitite (1558.4(3) Å3) to dravite (1569.5(4)–1571.7(3) Å3) to oxy-uvite (1572.4(2) Å3) to K-dravite (1588.1(2) Å3), mainly due to lengthening of the crystallographic c-axis. The increase in the size of the X-site coordination polyhedron from dravite (Na) to K-dravite (K) is accommodated locally in the crystal structure, resulting in the shortening of the neighboring O1H1 bond. In oxy-uvite, Ca2+ is locally associated with a deprotonated W (O1) site, whereas vacant X sites are neighbored by protonated W (O1) sites. Increasing the size of the X-site-occupying ion does not detectably affect bonding between the other sites; however, the higher charge of Ca and the deprotonated W (O1) site in oxy-uvite are correlated to changes in the lattice vibration Raman spectrum (100–1200 cm?1), particularly for bands assigned to the T 6O18 ring. The Raman spectrum of magnesio-foitite shows significant deviations from those of K-dravite, dravite, and oxy-uvite in both the lattice and O–H stretching vibrational ranges (100–1200 and 3250–3850 cm?1, respectively). The vacant X site is correlated with long- and short-range changes in the crystal structure, i.e., deformation of the T 6O18 ring and lengthening of the O1H1 and O3H3 bonds. However, X-site vacancies in K-dravite, dravite, and oxy-uvite result only in the lengthening of the neighboring O1H1 bond and do not result in identifiable changes in the lattice-bonding environment.  相似文献

Equilibria in the Sirf (Silica-Ilmenite-Rutile-Ferrosilite) system: $${\text{SiO}}_{\text{2}} + ({\text{Mg,Fe}}){\text{TiO}}_{\text{3}} {\text{ + (Mg,Fe)SiO}}_{\text{3}} $$ have been calibrated in the range 800–1100° C and 12–26 kbar using a piston-cylinder apparatus to assess the potential of the equilibria for geobarometry in granulite facies assemblages that lack garnet. Thermodynamic calculations indicate that the two end-member equilibria involving quartz + geikielite = rutile + enstatite, and quartz + ilmenite = rutile + ferrosilite, are metastable. We therefore reversed equilibria over the compositional range Fs40–70, using Ag80Pd20 capsules with \(f_{{\text{O}}_{\text{2}} } \) buffered at or near iron-wüstite. Ilmenite compositions coexisting with orthopyroxene are \(X_{{\text{MgTiO}}_{\text{3}} }^{{\text{Ilm}}} \) of 0.06 to 0.15 and \(X_{{\text{Fe}}_{\text{2}} {\text{O}}_{\text{3}} }^{{\text{Ilm}}} \) of 0.00 to 0.01, corresponding toK D values of 13.3, 10.2, 9.0 and 8.0 (±0.5) at 800, 900, 1000 and 1100° C, respectively, whereK D =(XMg/XFe)Opx/(XMg/XFe)Ilm. Pressures have been calculated using equilibria in the Sirf system for granulites from the Grenville Province of Ontario and for granulite facies xenoliths from central Mexico. Pressures are consistent with other well-calibrated geobarometers for orthopyroxeneilmenite pairs from two Mexican samples in which oxide textures appear to represent equilibrium. Geologically unreasonable pressures are obtained, however, where oxide textures are complex. Application of data from this study on the equilibrium distribution of iron and magnesium between ilmenite and orthopyroxene suggests that some ilmenite in deep crustal xenoliths is not equilibrated with coexisting pyroxene, while assemblages from exposed granulite terranes have reequilibrated during retrogression. The Sirf equilibria are sensitive to small changes in composition and may be used for determination of activity/composition (a/X) relations of orthopyroxene if an ilmenite model is specified. A symmetric regular solution model has been used for orthopyroxene in conjunction with activity models for ilmenite available from the literature to calculatea/X relations in orthopyroxene of intermediate composition. Data from this study indicate that FeSiO3?MgSiO3 orthopyroxene exhibits small, positive deviations from ideality over the range 800–1100°C.  相似文献

Most of the Al3+ entering the pyroxenes does so by substituting for tetrahedral Si4+. This creates a charge imbalance that requires the simultaneous entry of Cr3+, Ti4+, Fe3+ or Al3+ into octahedral sites. Cr3+, because of its high crystal field stabilisation energy (CFSE), is the most important of these elements to enter the early-formed pyrosenes but it is replaced by Ti4+ later in fractionation when the Cr3+ content of the melt becomes depleted. The dependence of Cr3+ and Ti4+ on charge balance controls their partition between coexisting pyroxenes and olivines. Ca-rich pyroxene which contains more Al3+ than Ca-poor pyroxene also has more Ti4+ and Cr3+ whereas olivine, which contains negligible Al3+, has low Cr3+ and Ti4+. The Al3+ content of pyroxenes is influenced by changes in P, T, \(a_{{\text{SiO}}_{\text{2}} }\) and \(a_{{\text{Al}}_{\text{2}} {\text{O}}_{\text{3}} }\) of the magma and by the nature of the ion providing charge balance in the octahedral site. Of these \(a_{{\text{SiO}}_{\text{2}} }\) is dominant and variations in the Al3+ content of the Jimberlana pyroxenes correspond closely with the expected changes in the \(a_{{\text{SiO}}_{\text{2}} }\) of the melt. The substitution of divalent ions, such as Mn2+ and Ni2+, in the pyroxene lattice is by replacement of Fe2+ or Mg2+ in the octahedral M 3 and M 2 sites and is therefore independent of charge balance. If there are no size restrictions, the principal factor to be considered is the CFSE the ion receives in octahedral co-ordination. Ni2+, which receives a high CFSE, partitions strongly between the early-formed pyroxenes and olivines and therefore becomes depleted in the magma with fractionation. Conversely Mn2+, which receives zero CFSE, concentrates in the magma with fractionation and becomes a more important substitute in the later-formed pyroxenes. Its geochemical behaviour is controlled by its size. The narrow miscibility gap of the Jimberlana pyroxenes and the high En content of the Ca-poor pyroxenes at the bronzite pigeonite changeover suggest that these pyroxenes crystallised at a higher temperature than pyroxenes of comparable composition from other intrusions.  相似文献

Forty-six reversed determinations of the Al2O3content of enstatite in equilibrium with garnet were made in the P/T range 15–40 kbar/900–1,600° C in the MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system. Starting materials were mixtures of synthetic pyrope+Al-free enstatite and pyrope+enstatite (5–12% Al2O3). Al2O3 contents in reversal run pairs closely approached common values from both the high- and low-Al sides. Most experiments were done in a piston-cylinder device using a NaCl medium; some runs at very high temperatures were made in pyrex/NaCl or pyrex/talc assemblies. The measured enstatite compositions, expressed as mole fractions of Mg2(MgAl)(AlSi3)O12(X Opy En ) were fitted by a Monte-Carlo method to the equilibrium condition: $$\begin{gathered} \Delta H_{970}^0 - 970\Delta S_{970}^0 \hfill \\ + \mathop \smallint \limits_1^P \Delta V_{970}^0 dP - \mathop \smallint \limits_{970}^T \Delta S_T^0 dT + RT\ln X_{Opy}^{En} = 0 \hfill \\ \end{gathered}$$ where the best fit parameters of ΔH, ΔS and ΔV (1 bar, 970 K) for the reaction pyrope=opy are 2,040 cal/mol, 2.12 eu and 9.55 cc/mol. In addition to the determination of Al2O3 contents of enstatite, the univariant reaction pyrope+forsterite=enstatite+spinel was reversibly located in the range 1,100–1,400°C. A “best-fit” line passes through 22, 22.5 and 25 kbar at 1,040, 1,255 and 1,415°C, respectively. Our results for the univariant reaction are in agreement with previous studies of MacGregor (1974) and Haselton (1979). However, comparison of the experimentally determined curve with thermochemical calculations suggests that there may be a small error in the tabulated ΔH f(970,1) 0 value for enstatite. A value of?8.32 rather than?8.81 kcal/mole (Charlu et al. 1975) is consistent with the present data. Application of garnet-enstatite-spinel-forsterite equilibria to natural materials is fraught with difficulties. The effects of nonternary components are poorly understood, and the low solubilities of Al2O3 in enstatite under most geologically reasonable conditions make barometric or thermometric calculations highly sensitive. More detailed studies, including reversed determinations in low-friction assemblies, are sorely needed before the effects of important diluents such as Fe, Ca and Cr can be fully understood.  相似文献

Lithian ferrian enstatite with Li2O = 1.39 wt% and Fe2O3 7.54 wt% was synthesised in the (MgO–Li2O–FeO–SiO2–H2O) system at P = 0.3 GPa, T = 1,000°C, fO2 = +2 Pbca, and a = 18.2113(7), b = 8.8172(3), c = 5.2050(2) Å, V = 835.79(9) Å3. The composition of the orthopyroxene was determined combining EMP, LA-ICP-MS and single-crystal XRD analysis, yielding the unit formula M2(Mg0.59Fe 0.21 2+ Li0.20) M1(Mg0.74Fe 0.20 3+ Fe 0.06 2+ ) Si2O6. Structure refinements done on crystals obtained from synthesis runs with variable Mg-content show that the orthopyroxene is virtually constant in composition and hence in structure, whereas coexisting clinopyroxenes occurring both as individual grains or thin rims around the orthopyroxene crystals have variable amounts of Li, Fe3+ and Mg contents. Structure refinement shows that Li is ordered at the M2 site and Fe3+ is ordered at the M1 site of the orthopyroxene, whereas Mg (and Fe2+) distributes over both octahedral sites. The main geometrical variations observed for Li-rich samples are actually due to the presence of Fe3+, which affects significantly the geometry of the M1 site; changes in the geometry of the M2 site due to the lower coordination of Li are likely to affect both the degree and the kinetics of the non-convergent Fe2+-Mg ordering process in octahedral sites.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of single crystals of forsterite co-doped with chromium and scandium has revealed, apart from the known paramagnetic centers Cr3+(M1) and Cr3+(M1)– $ V_{{{\text{Mg}}^{2 + } }} $ (M2) (Ryabov in Phys Chem Miner 38:177–184, 2011), a new center Cr3+(M1)– $ V_{{{\text{Mg}}^{2 + } }} $ (M2)–Sc3+ formed by a Cr3+ ion substituting for Mg2+ at the M1 structural position with a nearest-neighbor Mg2+ vacancy at the M2 position and a Sc3+ ion presumably at the nearest-neighbor M1 position. For this center, the conventional zero-field splitting parameters D and E and the principal g values have been determined as follows: D?=?33,172(29) MHz, E?=?8,482(13) MHz, g?=?[1.9808(2), 1.9778(2), 1.9739(2)]. The center has been compared with the known ion pair Cr3+(M1)–Al3+ (Bershov et al. in Phys Chem Miner 9:95–101, 1983), for which the refined EPR data have been obtained. Based on these data, the known sharp M1″ line at 13,967?cm?1 (with the splitting of 1.8?cm?1), observed in low-temperature luminescence spectra of chromium-doped forsterite crystals (Glynn et al. in J Lumin 48, 49:541–544, 1991), has been ascribed to the Cr3+(M1)–Al3+ center. It has been found that the concentration of the new center increases from 0 up to 4.4?×?1015?mg?1, whereas that of the Cr3+(M1) and Cr3+(M1)– $ V_{{{\text{Mg}}^{2 + } }} $ (M2) centers quickly decreases from 7.4?×?1015?mg?1 down to 3?×?1015?mg?1 and from 2.7?×?1015?mg?1 down to 0.5?×?1015?mg?1, i.e., by a factor of 2.5 and 5.4, respectively, with an increase of the Sc content from 0 up to 0.22 wt?% (at the same Cr content 0.25 wt?%) in the melt. When the Sc content exceeds that of Cr, the concentration of the new center decreases most likely due to the formation of the Sc3+(M1)– $ V_{{{\text{Mg}}^{2 + } }} $ (M2)–Sc3+ complex instead of the Cr3+(M1)– $ V_{{{\text{Mg}}^{2 + } }} $ (M2)–Sc3+ center. The formation of such ordered neutral complex is in agreement with the experimental results, concerning the incorporation of Sc into olivine, recently obtained by Grant and Wood (Geochim Cosmochim Acta 74:2412–2428, 2010).  相似文献

The solubility of Gd2Ti2O7 ceramic in acidic solutions (HCl and HClO4) was studied at 250°C and saturation vapor pressure within pH 2.5–5.2. The dissolution process occurs mainly via two reactions: 0.5 Gd2Ti2O7(cr) + 3H+ = Gd3+ + TiO2(cr) + 1.5 H2O at pH < 3 and 0.5Gd2Ti2O7(cr) + H+ + 0.5H2O = Gd(OH) 2 + TiO2(cr) at pH 3–5. The thermodynamic equilibrium constants were calculated at the 0.95 confidence level as log K (1) o = 4.12 ± 0.47; = ?0.97 ± 0.16 at 250°C. It was shown that Gd3+ undergoes hydrolysis in solutions with pH > 3, and the species Gd(OH) 2 + dominates up to at least pH 5. At pH < 3, Gd occurs in solutions as Gd3+. The second constant of Gd3+ hydrolysis was determined at 250°C as K o = ?5.09 ± 0.5, and the thermodynamic characteristics of the initial Gd2Ti2O7 solid phase were determined: S 298.15 o = 251.4 J/(mol K) and ΔfG 298.15 o = ?3630 ± 10 kJ/mol.  相似文献

Based on the synthesis of hydrogeochemical materials on Sb occurrence in carbonate and thermal waters and thermodynamic simulations, genetic analysis was conducted of the transformations of probable Sb migration species (particularly oxygen-bearing and sulfide ones), and their transformations were calculated depending on the main parameters of hydrogeochemical systems (\(P_{CO_2 } \), T, R/W, Eh, and pH). The oxygen 2HSbO 2 0 + 3H2S = Sb2S3 + 4H2O (2SbO 2 ? + 3HS? + 5H+ = Sb2S3 + 4H2O) and sulfide HSb2S 4 ? + H+ = Sb2S3 cr + H2S (Sb2S 4 2? + 2H+ = Sb2S3cr + H2S) models for the genesis of hydrogenic Sb2S3(cr) were simulated. Information on occurrences of carbonate and thermal waters in various regions worldwide was generalized, and the reasons were identified for the geochemical separation of As and Sb in carbonate and thermal waters. The causes and conditions of an increase in Sb concentrations in thermal waters were revealed, and Sb migration species in carbonate and thermal waters were identified for various parameters of hydrogeochemical systems. Variations in Sb speciation were demonstrated for hydrogeochemical systems depending on their boundary conditions (\(P_{CO_2 } \), T, and R/W). Models were outlined responsible for the precipitation of Sb2S3(cr) from carbonate and thermal waters.  相似文献

The equilibrium between spinel lherzolite and garnet lherzolite has been experimentally determined in the CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system between 800° and 1,100° C. In confirmation of earlier work and predictions from thermodynamic data, it was found that theP-T slope of the reaction was close to zero, the equilibrium ranging from 16.1 kb at 800° C to 18.7 kb at 1,100° C (±0.3 kb). The addition of Cr2O3 to the system raised the stability field of spinel to higher pressures. It was found that the pressure at which both garnet and spinel could exist with olivine+orthopyroxene+clinopyroxene in the system CMAS ?Cr2O3 could best be described by the empirical relationship: $$P = P^{\text{O}} + \alpha X_{{\text{Cr}}}^{s{\text{p}}} $$ whereP 0 is the equilibrium pressure for the univariant reaction in the Cr2O3-free system,α is a constant apparently independent of temperature with a value of 27.9 kilobars, andX Cr sp is the mole fraction of chromium in spinel. Use was made of the extensive literature on Mg-Fe2+ solid solutions to quantitatively derive the effect of Fe2+ on the equilibrium. The effect of other components (Fe3+, Na) was also considered. The equilibrium can be used as a sensitive geobarometer for rocks containing the five phases ol+opx+cpx+gt+sp, and thus provides the only independent check presently available for the more widely applicable geobarometer which uses the alumina content of orthopyroxene in equilibrium with garnet.  相似文献

The chemical composition of aerosols in the Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer (MABL) of Bay of Bengal (BoB) and Arabian Sea (AS) has been studied during the spring and inter-monsoon (March-May 2006) based on the analysis of water soluble constituents (Na+, NH 4 + , K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl?, NO 3 ? and SO 4 2? ), crustal elements (Al, Fe, and Ca) and carbonaceous species (EC, OC). The total suspended particulates (TSP) ranged from 5.2 to 46.6 μg m?3 and 8.2 to 46.9 μg m?3 during the sampling transects in the BoB and AS respectively. The water-soluble species, on average, accounted for 44% and 33% of TSP over BoB and AS respectively, with dominant contribution of SO 4 2? over both the oceanic regions. However, distinct differences with respect to elevated abundances of NH 4 + in the MABL of BoB and that of Na+ and Ca2+ in AS are clearly evident. The non-sea-salt component of SO 4 2? ranging from 82 to 98% over BoB and 35 to 98% over AS; together with nss-Ca2+/nss-SO 4 2? equivalent ratios 0.12 to 0.5 and 0.2 to 1.16, respectively, provide evidence for the predominance of anthropogenic constituents and chemical transformation processes occurring within MABL. The concentrations of OC and EC average around 1.9 and 0.4 μg m?3 in BoB and exhibit a decreasing trend from north to south; however, abundance of these carbonaceous species are not significantly pronounced over AS. The abundance of Al, used as a proxy for mineral aerosols, varied from 0.2 to 1.9 μg m?3 over BoB and AS, with a distinctly different spatial pattern — decreasing north to south in BoB in contrast to an increasing pattern in the Arabian Sea.  相似文献

Violet, non-pleochroic and greenish-blue, pleochroic chromium-substituted sapphirines were found in corundum-bearing spinel-websterite xenolites from the Yakutian kimberlite pipes Noyabrskaya (N) and Sludyanka (Sl), respectively. The crystallochemical formulae of sapphirine crystals from such xenolites were determined by EMP to be (Mg3.40Fe0.23Al3.25Cr0.16)[6] Al 1.00 [6] [O2/Al4.53Si1.47O18] (N) and (Mg2.53Fe0.55 Mn0.04Ti 0.03 4+ Al3.55Cr 0.08 3+ )[6]Al 1.00 [16] [O2/Al4.28Si1.73O18] (Sl). Single crystal spectra in the range 35000–6000 cm1- showed a slightly polarization dependent absorption edge near 3200 cm1- (N) or 30000 cm1- (Sl) and unpolarized bands at 25300 and 17300 cm1-, typical of spin-allowed transitions, derived from 4A2g4T1g and 4A2g4T2g, of Cr3+ in octahedral sites, with point symmetry C1, of the structure. Another weak band at 23000 cm?1 in the sapphirine-N spectra is attributed to low symmetry splitting of the excited 4T1 (F)-State of Cr3+. These assignments lead to crystal field parameters Dq=1730cm?1 and B= 685cm?1 of Cr3+ in sapphirine. Crystallochemical and spectroscopic arguments suggest that Cr3+ subsitutes for Al in the M(1) or M(8) sites of the sapphirine structure. In addition to Cr3+-transitions, spectra of Sl exhibit weak dd-bands of Fe2+ at 10000 and 7700 cm1-, which are unpolarized in consistency with the C1 site symmetry of the octahedra in the structure. Spectra of Sl show also prominent, broad bands (Δv1/2~-5000 cm1-) at 15000 and 11000 cm1-, which occur in E//Y(//b) and E//Z(//c=12°) only and exhibit an intensity ratio αY∶αz close to 1∶3. This result, the large half width, as well as band energy — MM distance considerations suggest that these bands originate from Fe2+[6]-Fe3+[6] charge-transfer transitions in wall octahedra M(1)M(2), M(6)M(7) etc., forming MM vectors of 30° with the c-axis. The lack of Fe2+-Fe3+ charge-transfer bands in sapphirine N might indicate a lower oxygen fugacity during the formation of the websterite from the Noyabrskaya pipe compared to that from the Sludyanka pipe.  相似文献

For the first time, chemical characterization of PM10 aerosols was attempted over the Bay of Bengal (BoB) and Arabian Sea (AS) during the ICARB campaign. Dominance of SO 4 2? , NH 4 + and NO 3 ? was noticed over both the regions which indicated the presence of ammonium sulphate and ammonium nitrate as major water soluble particles playing a very important role in the radiation budget. It was observed that all the chemical constituents had higher concentrations over Bay of Bengal as compared to Arabian Sea. Higher concentrations were observed near the Indian coast showing influence of landmass indicating that gaseous pollutants like SO2, NH3 and NO x are transported over to the sea regions which consequently contribute to higher SO 4 2? , NH 4 + and NO 3 ? aerosols respectively. The most polluted region over BoB was 13°?19°N and 70°?90°E while it was near 11°N and 75°E over AS. Although the concentrations were higher over Bay of Bengal for all the chemical constituents of PM10 aerosols, per cent non-sea salt (nss) fraction (with respect to Na) was higher over Arabian Sea. Very low Ca2+ concentration was observed at Arabian Sea which led to higher atmospheric acidity as compared to BoB. Nss SO 4 2? alone contributed 48% of total water soluble fraction over BoB as well as AS. Ratios SO 4 2? /NO ? 3 over both the regions (7.8 and 9 over BoB and AS respectively) were very high as compared to reported values at land sites like Allahabad (0.63) and Kanpur (0.66) which may be due to very low NO.3 over sea regions as compared to land sites. Air trajectory analysis showed four classes: (i) airmass passing through Indian land, (ii) from oceanic region, (iii) northern Arabian Sea and Middle East and (iv) African continent. The highest nss SO 4 2? was observed during airmasses coming from the Indian land side while lowest concentrations were observed when the air was coming from oceanic regions. Moderate concentrations of nss SO2. 4 were observed when air was seen moving from the Middle East and African continent. The pH of rainwater was observed to be in the range of 5.9–6.5 which is lower than the values reported over land sites. Similar feature was reported over the Indian Ocean during INDOEX indicating that marine atmosphere had more free acidity than land atmosphere.  相似文献

The thermochemical study of two natural trioctahedral Mg–Fe chlorites—clinochlores was carried out using high-temperature melt solution calorimetry with a Tian–Calvet microcalorimeter. The enthalpies of formation of clinochlores of compositions (Mg4.9Fe 0.3 2+ Al0.8)[Si3.2Al0.8O10](OH)8 (–8811 ± 12 kJ/mol) and (Mg4.3Fe 0.7 2+ Al1.0)[Si3.0Al1.0O10](OH)8 (–8696 ± 13 kJ/mol) from elements were determined. The values of the standard entropies and the Gibbs energies of formation of the studied natural minerals as well as thermodynamic properties of Mg–Fe chlorites of theoretical composition were estimated.  相似文献

Oxyvanite has been identified as an accessory mineral in Cr-V-bearing quartz-diopside meta- morphic rocks of the Slyudyanka Complex in the southern Baikal region, Russia. The new mineral was named after constituents of its ideal formula (oxygen and vanadium). Quartz, Cr-V-bearing tremolite and micas, calcite, clinopyroxenes of the diopside-kosmochlor-natalyite series, Cr-bearing goldmanite, eskolaite-karelianite dravite-vanadiumdravite, V-bearing titanite, ilmenite, and rutile, berdesinskiite, schreyerite, plagioclase, scapolite, barite, zircon, and unnamed U-Ti-V-Cr phases are associated minerals. Oxyvanite occurs as anhedral grains up to 0.1–0.15 mm in size, without visible cleavage and parting. The new mineral is brittle, with conchoidal fracture. Observed by the naked eye, the mineral is black, with black streak and resinous luster. The microhardness (VHN) is 1064–1266 kg/mm2 (load 30 g), and the mean value is 1180 kg/mm2. The Mohs hardness is about 7.0–7.5. The calculated density is 4.66(2) g/cm3. The color of oxyvanite is pale cream in reflected light, without internal reflections. The measured reflectance in air is as follows (λ, nm-R, %): 440-17.8; 460-18; 480-18.2; 520-18.6; 520-18.6; 540-18.8; 560-18.9; 580-19; 600-19.1; 620-19.2; 640-19.3; 660-19.4; 680-19.5; 700-19.7. Oxyvanite is monoclinic, space group C2/c; the unit-cell dimensions are a = 10.03(2), b = 5.050(1), c = 7.000(1) Å, β = 111.14(1)°, V = 330.76(5)Å3, Z = 4. The strongest reflections in the X-ray powder pattern [d, Å, (I in 5-number scale)(hkl)] are 3.28 (5) (20\(\bar 2\)); 2.88 (5) (11\(\bar 2\)); 2.65, (5) (310); 2.44 (5) (112); 1.717 (5) (42\(\bar 2\)); 1.633 (5) (31\(\bar 4\)); 1.446 (4) (33\(\bar 2\)); 1.379 (5) (422). The chemical composition (electron microprobe, average of six point analyses, wt %): 14.04 TiO2, 73.13 V2O3 (53.97 V2O3calc, 21.25 VO2calc), 10.76 Cr2O3, 0.04 Fe2O3, 0.01 Al2O3, 0.02 MgO, total is 100.03. The empirical formula is (V 1.70 3+ Cr0.30)2.0(V 0.59 4+ Ti0.41)1.0O5. Oxyvanite is the end member of the oxyvanite-berdesinskiite series with homovalent isomorphic substitution of V4+ for Ti. The type material has been deposited at the Fersman Mineralogical Museum, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow.  相似文献

Large-scale melting of the Earth’s early mantle under the effect of global impact processes was accompanied by the generation of volatiles, which concentration was mainly controlled by the interaction of main N, C, O, and H gas-forming elements with silicate and metallic melts at low oxygen fugacity (fO2), which predominated during metallic segregation and self-oxidation of magma ocean. The paper considers the application of Raman and IR (infrared) Fourier spectroscopy for revealing the mechanisms of simultaneous dissolution and relative contents of N, C, O, and H in glasses, which represent the quench products of reduced model FeO–Na2O–Al2O3–SiO2 melts after experiments at 4 GPa, 1550°C, and fO2 1.5–3 orders of magnitude below the oxygen fugacity of the iron—wustite buffer equilibrium (fO2(IW)). Such fO2 values correspond to those inferred for the origin and evolution of magma ocean. It was established that the silicate melt contains complexes with N–H bonds (NH3, NH 2 + , NH 2 - ), N2, H2, and CH4 molecules, as well as oxidized hydrogen species (OH hydroxyl and molecular water H2O). Spectral characteristics of the glasses indicate significant influence of fO2 on the N–C–O–H proportion in the melt. They are expressed in a sharp decrease of NH 2 + , NH 2 - (O–NH2), OH, H2O, and CH4 and simultaneous increase of NH 2 - (≡Si–NH2) and NH3 with decreasing fO2. As a result, NH3 molecules become the dominant nitrogen compounds among N–C–H components in the melt at fO2 two orders of magnitude below fO2(IW), whereas molecular СН4 prevails at higher fO2. The noteworthy feature of the redox reactions in the melt is stability of the ОН groups and molecular water, in spite of the sufficiently low fO2. Our study shows that the composition of reduced magmatic gases transferred to the planet surface has been significantly modified under conditions of self-oxidation of mantle and magma ocean.  相似文献

The results of a systematic analysis of master radial-velocity curves for the X-ray binary 4U 1700-37 are presented. The dependence of the mass of the X-ray component on the mass of the optical component is derived in a Roche model based on a fit of the master radial-velocity curve. The parameters of the optical star are used to estimate the mass of the compact object in three ways. The masses derived based on information about the surface gravity of the optical companion and various observational data are 2.25 ?0.24 +0.23 M and 2.14 ?0.56 +0.50 M. The masses based on the radius of the optical star, 21.9R, are 1.76 ?0.21 +0.20 M and 1.65 ?0.56 +0.78 M. The mass of the optical component derived from the mass-luminosity relation for X-ray binaries, 27.4M, yields masses for the compact object of 1.41 ?0.08 + M and 1.35 ?0.18 +0.18 M.  相似文献
