A primary magma not only represents the starting point of a fractional crystallization process, but also is the product of an equilibrium or fractional partial melting process in a mantle.Element abundance relationships in the primary magma obey both law of power function for fractional crystallization and the law of fractional linear function for equilibrium partial melting .Based on this double nature of the primary magma, the authors advanced a principle to restore the primary magma composition from that of an igneous rock series with petrogenesis of fractional crystallization and put forward an approach of estimating the element abundance of the primary magma, exempli-fied by the rar-earth elements in the Andes volcanic rock series.  相似文献

Two stages of intrusion have been recognized for Paleozoic pegmatites in this district. The pegmatites occur as several thousands of dikes, with 84 per cent of them distributed within three “thickly concentrated areas”. Similar horizontal zoning, i.e.,from the parental granite outwards the pegmatites vary from type K through type Na to type Li, is observed within these “thickly concentrated areas”, which consist of pegmatites of different stages. Temporally, the pegmatites also evolve in the same sequence of types K-Na-Li, with a series of mineralized dikes produced during this process. The occurrence of this phenomenan is not accidental but a strong indication of deepseated magmatic differentiation. In nature, not all granitic magmatism can bring about pegatite emplacement,nor all the pegmatite dikes are of the same petrological character. These differences indicate that deep-seated magmatic differentiation must be controlled by some factors.It‘s development is believed to be dependent largely on the amounts of both parental and residual magmas and on the extent to which the pressure at their source region has been lowered by the intrusion of granite. The constant movement of the crust results in the continuous upward migration of differentiated magma, so as to promote the differentiation to a greater extent, thereby providing new source materials for subsequent intrusive activity. Such a continuous movement of opposites leads to the formation of a complete series of pegmatites, i.e., from biotite-microcline pegmatite to lepidolite-albite pegmatite, giving rise to the “thickly concentrated areas” as well as a series of mineralized veins.  相似文献

Petro Gram is an Excel?based magmatic petrology program that generates numerical and graphical models.Petro Gram can model the magmatic processes such as melting,crystallization,assimilation and magma mixing based on the trace element and isotopic data.The program can produce both inverse and forward geochemical models for melting processes(e.g.forward model for batch,fractional and dynamic melting,and inverse model for batch and dynamic melting).However,the program uses a forward modeling approach for magma differentiation processes such as crystallization(EC:Equilibruim Crystallization,FC:Fractional Crystallization,IFC:Imperfect Fractional Crystallization and In-situ Crystallization),assimilation(AFC:Assimilation Fractional Crystallization,Decoupled FC-A:Decoupled Fractional Crystallization and Assimillation,A-IFC:Assimilation and Imperfect Fractional Crystallization)and magma mixing.One of the most important advantages of the program is that the melt composition obtained from any partial melting model can be used as a starting composition of the crystallization,assimilation and magma mixing.In addition,Petro Gram is able to carry out the classification,tectonic setting,multi-element(spider)and isotope correlation diagrams,and basic calculations including Mg^#,Eu/Eu^*,εSrandεNdwidely used in magmatic petrology.  相似文献

Environmental information can be extracted from bivalve shell geochemistry. In this review, the latest research progress and the existing problems as well as the focus of future research on stable oxygen and carbon isotopic composition and trace elemental ratios of bivalve shell were investigated. Oxygen isotopic signatures of bivalve shell have been proved precipitate in equilibrium with their host water and used as a robust tool to reconstruct ancient water temperature. In order to reconstruct quantitative paleo-temperature information, the future research on bivalve shell oxygen isotope should combine with the study of ancient water oxygen isotope. Metabolic effect pre- vents the direct application of stable carbon isotopic composition of bivalve shell from extracting dissolved inorganic carbon information. The contribution of metabolic carbon to bivalve shell is species specific. Stable carbon isotopic composition of dissolved inorganic carbon could be reconstructed if the metabolic contribution could be accounted for. Explore ways to remove contribution of metabolic effects to bivalve shell is the future focus of the research. There is no consensus on the effect of temperature on bivalve trace element ratios, which may be also species spe- cific, each proxy should ideally be validated and calibrated for each species before being used to interpret past climate and environmental conditions. Future research needs to pay attention to the bivalve shell biomineralization process, which controlled bivalve shell trace element ratios. Cultivation experiment is an important way to obtain the relevant conclusions.  相似文献

Chemical variations, geochemical behaviors and other problems such as element assemblages and relative abundances of elements during and after various geologic processes (magmatism, assimilation, hydrothermal alteration as well as tectonic movements) have been discussed for a nickel-bearing ultrabasic intrnsion. Particular emphasis is placed on aspects concerning the geochemical behavior of nickel. Conclusions have been reached about the environment and possible mechanism for the emplacement of this massive and for the origin of Ni sulfides. A “assimilation-immiscibility“ hypothesis is proposed for formation of copper-nickel sulfide deposits in ultrabasic intrnsives.  相似文献

Albitite often accompanies with various metal and gem mineral deposits and a large number of occurrences have been reported globally, including the South Qinling orogen, China. The Xiaozhen copper deposit is a typical deposit in the North Daba Mountain area of the South Qinling orogen whose distribution is controlled by albitite veins and fractures. As there are few studies on the petrogenesis of albitite in Xiaozhen copper deposit, this paper focuses on the petrogenesis of albitite and its mineralization age. Detailed fieldwork and mineral microscopic observations initially suggest that albitite from the Xiaozhen copper deposit is igneous in origin. Further zircon trace element geochemistry studies indicate that these zircons have high Th/U ratios(0.5), low La content, high(Sm/La)N and Ce/Ce*values, and a strong negative Eu anomaly, which are commonly seen in magmatic zircons. The chondrite–normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns are consistent with magmatic zircons from throughout the world, and they fall within or near the field of magmatic zircons on discriminant diagrams. The calculated average apparent Ti–in–zircon temperature for young zircons is 780°C, consistent with magmatic zircon crystallization temperatures. Therefore, zircon geochemistry indicates that the albitite origin is magmatic. SIMS U–Pb dating on nine magmatic zircons yielded a concordia age of 154.8±2.2 Ma, which represents the formation of albitite and the metallogenic age. More importantly, it is consistent with the ages of Yanshanian magmatism and metallogenesis in the South Qinling orogen, so formation of the Xiaozhen copper deposit may be a closely related geological event.  相似文献

On the basis of the previous quantitative modeling of trace element behavior in magmatic pro-cesses such as fractional crystallization ,batch melting and magma mixing,the author has shown the covariance relationship between compatible and incompatible elements. The discussion of the covariance relationship among trace elements indicates that the covariance relationship can be used to study the petrogenesis of igneous rocks and that the relationship be-tween compatible and incompatible elements are most important in distinguishing equilibrium process(melting and crystallization )from other magmatic processes, i.e.,the former shows a hyperbola trend on C1^i vs .C1^i diagrams,and however, the fractional process gives an exponent curve and magma mixing presents a straight line .On the other hand ,log C1^i vs .C1^i diagrams are also discussed here. Alkaline rocks from Zijinshan, Lin County, Shanxi Province are taken for example in our study ,indicating that the rocks were derived from batch melting of the upper mantle.  相似文献

Granitoids are widely spread in the Nanling Region of China.Four rockbodies in the region the been studied for their REE,Rb,Sr,Ba and Sc distributions.The four rockbodies occurred in different locations and are characterized as being different in age and type.The rock types are presented as follows:Qinghu monzonite,Guangxi;Fuxi granodiorite,Guangdong;Jiufeng monzonitic granite,Hunan;Zudong K-feldspar granite,Jiangxi.From the major and trace element distributions in these granitoids it is clearly shown that Rb/Sr ratios in the rocks tend to increase with increasing SiO2 content and differentiation index(DI),but LREE/HREE,La/Yb and K/Rb ratios tend to decrease,suggesting a correlation between trace element distribution and major element composition for the granitoids.The distribution characteristics of trace elements in each of the rockbodies are described in detail.From the comparative analysis of the Qinghu monzonite and Fuxi granodiorite it is evidenced that the REE distribution is closely related to the sequence of crystallization for the minerals,and also to the petrochemical types of these granitoids in addition to their crystal chemistry.  相似文献

Presented in this paper are the trace element abundances of 16 samples of Hannuoba ultramafic inclusion-bearing aldali basalts,which were determined by instrumental neutron activation analysis and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.The Petrogenesis of the alkali basalt suite has been modeled by batch partial melting and and Rayleigh fractional crystallization processes,The geochemical characteristics of the mantle source from where alkali basalts were derived are described in terms of variations in trace element abundances of the alkali basalt suite.  相似文献

The Yangtze Valley was one of the most important metallogenic regions during the Jurassic-Cretaceous period in East China, where more than 200 polymetallic Cu-Fe-Au, Mo, Zn, Pb, Ag deposits have been found. Trace elements were chemically analyzed and the relevant data were collected from literature for the Yanshanian (Mesozoic) igneous rocks which have close relationship with Cu-Au mineralization. Copper mineralization in the lower Yangtze Valley can be divided into three major types: skarn type, porphyry type and volcanic type. The porphyry type is of rare occurrence, such as the Shaxi porphyry copper deposit in the northern part of the lower Yangtze metallogenic valley. This paper focuses on the REE and trace element geochemistry of several Cu-Au deposits along the lower part of Yangtze metallogenic valley in Anhui. The results showed that there are differences in REE distribution for these four types of Cu-Au mineralization, which confine the sources of REE and trace elements as well as other mantle and transitional compatible elements. The results of both REE and trace element geochemical studies showed that these elements with different characteristics have different origins, probably representing different sources of Cu-Au deposits in the deep crust and upper mantle environments. The 40Ar/39Ar dating of one biotite sample gave an age of 131 Ma with a high level of confidence, which represents the age of formation of the Shaxi porphyrite intrusive with porphrytic Cu-Au mineralization, which is consistent with that of the majority of the adjacent acid intrusives with mass Cu-Au mineralization along the Yangtze metallogenic belt in the Yanshanian period (Mesozoic). This is the first attempt to use the high precision method to date the Shaxi porphyrite intrusive.  相似文献

本文提出了多期岩浆分离结晶中元素丰度关系的数学表达式;阐述了微量元素正向演化和反向演化的机理;指出了在不同岩浆分离阶段一些微量元素丰度关系常数(R)有明显变化,可以此作为阶段划分的依据。由峨嵋山玄武岩系及基性-超基性层状岩体研究所得出的元素丰度关系式,适用于其他成分岩浆分离结晶成因的岩浆岩系。本文着重列举数据较齐全的智利安底斯山脉玄武岩、玄武安山岩、安山岩、英安岩和流纹岩岩系的资料作为系统验证。  相似文献

Gough Island: Evaluation of a fractional crystallization model   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Gough Island is composed of an alkaline olivine basalt-trachyte series. A fractional crystallization model for the development of these rocks has been evaluated by correlating the geochemical trends of major and trace elements. Beginning with an alkali olivine basalt parent the major element abundances were used to determine the varying proportions of crystallizing minerals required to generate the various residual liquids. A least-squares computer model was used for this calculation. The modal proportions of cumulative minerals and trace element distribution coefficients were used to predict the trace element abundances in each rock type.Three significant trace element trends are observed in Gough Island rocks: (1) increasing rare earth (RE) abundance and relative light RE enrichment with increasing major element differentiation, (2) marked Eu, Sr, and Ba depletions in late stage trachytes, (3) Cr and M enrichment in picrite basalt.The trace element abundances predicted by the fractional crystallization model are in good agreement with these observed trends. A fractional crystallization process involving olivine, pyroxene, feldspar, and apatite accounts for all the significant major and trace element trends observed in Gough Island rocks.  相似文献

A number of trace elements have been determined spectrographically in the rocks and minerals of the Skaergaard intrusion, East Greenland. The original basic magma from which the varied rocks of the complex were developed is shown to have had a normal trace element composition. The sorting out of the trace elements into the various mineral series produced by strong fractional crystallization of the original basic magma is traced in detail by means of analyses of the separated minerals. Certain of the trace elements (Cr, Ni) are shown to be strongly concentrated in the early rocks so that later fractions have little or none of them; other elements (P, V, Cu, Sc, Mn, S) reach maximum values in the middle, or late middle stages represented by certain olivine-free gabbros and ferrogabbros; other elements (Li, Zr, Y, La, Ba, Rb) tend to remain in the residual liquid during fractionation and are thus abundant in the latest granite fraction. Still other trace elements (Co, Sr, Ga, Mo) show only small changes in amount throughout the series. Of these Co is a little more abundant in the early and middle stages, Sr in the middle stages, Ga in the later stages and Mo in the early and later but not in the middle stages. The distribution of the trace elements in the rocks is considered in relation to the varying composition of the minerals produced by the fractional crystallization processes and an attempt is made to discuss the mineral compositions in terms of crystal chemical concepts.The Skaergaard sequence of differentiation from gabbros, through ferrogabbros, to granite is considered to be a common trend of fractionation of basic magma at high levels in the crust, and the observed changes in trace element composition are therefore regarded as having wide geochemical significance. The trace element composition of the intermediate Skaergaard differentiates is significantly different from that of diorites reported by other workers and suggests that diorites have had some other origin than by fractionation of basic magma. On the other hand the trace element composition of many granites resembles that of the granite fraction produced in the Skaergaard intrusion.  相似文献

The distribution of Ba, Rb and Sr during crystallization of a granitic melt is examined in a number of theoretical models. The modes of crystallization considered are perfect fractional crystallization, perfect equilibrium crystallization, and an intermediate mode, incremental equilibrium crystallization. The effect of the degree of separation of cumulus minerals from melt during crystallization is also considered. Perfect fractional and incremental equilibrium crystallization (with small increments) are broadly similar, but differ in the final stages of crystallization in that the latter mode defines a finite trace element composition for the last solid. The effect of intercumulus melt in both modes of crystallization imparts a ‘liquid’ character to the solids, and suppresses the degree of enrichment of Rb and depletion of Ba and Sr in late solids and melts.Examination of trace element data for the Acid Phase of the Bushveld Igneous Complex in the light of these models suggests that these granites represent a suite of cumulate rocks, containing relatively large amounts of intercumulus melt.  相似文献

Trace elements, including rare earth elements (REE), exhibit systematic variations in plutonic rocks from the Captains Bay pluton which is zoned from a narrow gabbroic rim to a core of quartz monzodiorite and granodiorite. The chemical variations parallel those in the associated Aleutian calcalkaline volcanic suite. Concentrations of Rb, Y, Zr and Ba increase as Sr and Ti decrease with progressive differentiation. Intermediate plutonic rocks are slightly enriched in light REE (La/Yb=3.45–9.22), and show increasing light REE fractionation and negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu*=1.03–0.584). Two border-zone gabbros have similar REE patterns but are relatively depleted in total REE and have positive Eu anomalies; indicative of their cumulate nature. Initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios in 8 samples (0.70299 to 0.70377) are comparable to those of volcanic rocks throughout the arc and suggest a mantle source for the magmas. Oxygen isotopic ratios indicate that many of the intermediate plutonic rocks have undergone oxygen isotopic exchange with large volumes of meteoric water during the late stages of crystallization; however no trace element or Sr isotopic alteration is evident.Major and trace element variations are consistent with a model of inward fractional crystallization of a parental high-alumina basaltic magma at low pressures (6 kb). Least-squares approximations and trace element fractionation calculations suggest that differentiation in the plutonic suite was initially controlled by the removal of calcic plagioclase, lesser pyroxene, olivine and Fe-Ti oxides but that with increasing differentiation and water fugacity the removal of sub-equal amounts of sodic plagioclase and hornblende with lesser Fe-Ti oxides effectively drove residual liquids toward dacitic compositions. Major and trace element compositions of aplites which intrude the pluton are not adequately explained by fractional crystallization. They may represent partial melts derived from the island arc crust. Similarities in Sr isotopes, chemical compositions and differentiation trends between the plutonic series and some Aleutian volcanic suites indicates that shallow-level fractional crystallization is a viable mechanism for generating the Aleutian calcalkaline rock series.LDGO Contribution no. 2964  相似文献

Major, trace element and Sr isotopic compositions have been determined on 21 lava samples from Vico volcano, Roman Province, Central Italy. The rocks investigated range from leucite tephritic phonolites to leucite phonolites and trachytes. Trace element compositions are characterized by high enrichments of incompatible elements which display strong variations in rocks with a similar degree of evolution. Well-defined linear trends are observed between pairs of incompatible trace elements such as Th-Ta, Th-La, Th-Hf. A decrease of Large Ion Lithophile (LIL) elements abundance contemporaneously with the formation of a large central caldera is one of the most prominent characteristics of trace element distribution. Sr isotope ratios range from 0.71147 to 0.71037 in the pre-caldera lavas and decreases to values of 0.70974–0.70910 in the lavas erupted after the caldera collapse. Theoretical modelling of geochemical and Sr isotopic variations indicates that, while fractional crystallization was an important evolutionary process, AFC and mixing also played key roles during the evolution of Vico volcano. AFC appears to have dominated during the early stages of the volcanic history when evolved trachytes with the highest Sr isotope ratios were erupted. Mixing processes are particularly evident in volcanites emplaced during the late stages of Vico evolution. According to the model proposed, the evolution of potassic magmas emplaced in a shallow-level reservoir was dominated by crystal fractionation plus wall rock assimilation and mixing with ascending fresh mafic magma. This process generated a range of geochemical and isotopic compositions in the mafic magmas which evolved by both AFC and simple crystal liquid fractionation, producing evolved trachytes and phonolites with variable trace element and Sr isotopic compositions.  相似文献

The major and trace element chemistry of phonolites containing spinel Iherzolite xenoliths from Bokkos (Nigeria), Phonolite Hill (northeastern Australia) and Heldburg (East Germany) is consistent with an origin by fractional crystallization of basanitic magmas at upper mantle pressures (10–15 kbar). At Bokkos, spatially associated lavas ranging from hawaiitic nepheline mugearite to nepheline benmoreite can be modeled very well by fractional crystallization of kaersutitic amphibole + olivine + Fe-Ti-spinel + apatite, a crystal extract consistent with experimentally-determined near-liquidus phase relationships for mugearitic liquids. Further fractional crystallization of aluminous clinopyroxene + mica + apatite will yield the phonolites. A similar model relating the unusual Iherzolite-bearing mafic nepheline benmoreite from Pigroot (New Zealand) to basanitic lavas of the East Otago province is not supported by major and trace element data. The Pigroot lava is possibly the product of melting of a mantle source region previously enriched in Sr and light rare earth elements, with subsequent minor fractional crystallization of olivine + kaersutite. Dynamic flow crystallization processes operating within conduit systems from mantle pressures are capable of yielding large volumes of evolved phonolitic liquids from primary basanitic liquids, if magma flow rates are appropriate. This mechanism may provide an explanation for the volumetric bias towards salic differentiates in some alkalic provinces.  相似文献

天山西南部白垩纪-老第三纪发育的托云盆地及其周边出露的岩浆岩是一套完整的碱性岩浆岩系列,包含了苦橄质玄武岩、玄武岩、碧玄岩、碱玄岩(橄榄玄武岩、黑云母辉长二长岩、辉长辉绿岩、辉石橄榄岩)和响岩等多种岩石类型。野外工作显示有火山喷出岩和侵入岩两种不同的产状。年代学结果指示岩浆岩形成于120-50Ma间,为晚白垩世-老第三纪盆地形成演化阶段岩浆活动的产物。分离结晶作用是岩浆演化和岩浆系列形成最主要的因素,托云岩浆岩大致经历了结晶分异过程的两个阶段:早期苦橄质岩浆中橄榄石、尖晶石的结晶分离,表现为MgO和微量元素Cr含量随SiO2含量增加大幅度的降低;晚期主要是单斜辉石、斜长石和钛铁矿等矿物的结晶分异,以CaO、FeO、TiO2等随SiO2含量增加大幅度的降低为特点。苦橄质岩石的出现指示了地幔较高温熔融事件的存在,进而为托云盆地地幔柱的存在提供了有力的证据。无论如何,碱性岩浆的活动表明托云盆地形成的大地构造背景是大陆主动裂谷环境,对应的深部背景为区域性的地幔柱构造。首次发现的响岩是结晶分异作用的最终产物。响岩较极端地指示了岩浆结晶分离过程对岩浆演化的巨大影响。托云岩浆岩的同位素特征指示其源区是一个接近于PREMA地幔,但微量元素特征显示其受地壳流体交代改造的特点。岩浆岩的Nd同位素TDM集中在250~600Ma之间,反映了一个古生代时期形成的新生岩石圈地幔,与新疆北部地区的晚古生代新生岩石圈地幔的事实相符。  相似文献
