西藏东部类乌齐一带吉塘岩群中新识别出一套花岗质片麻岩,其Cameca锆石U-Pb年龄为246.3±0.8Ma,表明该变质花岗岩形成于早三叠世。该套变质侵入体具高SiO2(68.21%~74.82%)、富K2O(K2O/Na2O>1)和低P2O5(<0.26%)特征,铝饱和指数(ACNK)为1.01~1.19,属准铝质到过铝质岩石;富集Rb、Th和U,亏损Ba、Nb、Ta、Sr、P和Eu等;并具不均一的锆石εHf(t)值(-1.3~+3.7)和古老的锆石Hf同位素地壳模式年龄(1.0~1.4Ga),具有碰撞型花岗岩的地球化学特征。类乌齐变质侵入体很可能形成于澜沧江结合带所代表的洋盆闭合后碰撞的地球动力学背景,可能是幔源岩浆诱发古老地壳物质重熔并与之混合形成母岩浆,再经历高程度分离结晶作用而形成,为北澜沧江结合带碰撞造山过程的产物,暗示澜沧江结合带在早三叠世存在岩浆增生事件,藏东类乌齐地区在246Ma之前己进入陆-陆碰撞时期。  相似文献

西藏吉塘花岗岩地球化学特征及成因   总被引:7,自引:2,他引:5  
沿澜沧江结合带发育一条长达1000余千米的印支期澜沧花岗岩带,吉塘岩体位于该带北段,产出在吉塘以西约3km,轴向NNW,侵位于古元古代吉塘群变质岩系中,长70km,宽2~10km、出露面积341km2。主要由花岗闪长岩和二长花岗岩组成,Rb-Sr等时线年龄值为220Ma。本文对吉塘岩体开展了系统的岩石地球化学特征分析。研究结果表明吉塘岩体为过铝质钙碱性S型花岗岩,吉塘岩体在岩石化学组成上,SiO2含量63%~71%,平均66.5%,Na2O含量2.8%~4.2%,K2O含量1.7%~3.4%,铝饱和指数A/CNK=1.09~1.48,CIPW标准矿物中刚玉1.5%~5.6%,微量元素组成类似于片麻岩质的中地壳。(87Sr/86Sr)i值为0.7280~0.7395,εNd(i)为-14.1~-16.2,指示岩浆源区为地壳物质,成因上与俯冲作用无关,Nd同位素亏损地幔模式年龄(tDM)在2.0Ga左右,与昌都陆块变质基底古元古代吉塘群的原始形成年代相当,岩体Sr、Nd同位素组成也与变质基底吉塘群片麻岩一致,综合分析认为,岩浆源岩为变质杂砂岩成分的古元古代吉塘群片麻岩,其原岩建造主要是火山弧成因的英安岩或英安质火山碎屑岩,微量元素组成指示为黑云母脱水熔融。分析认为岩浆形成于地壳加厚增温环境下的地壳深熔作用,构造上与板块碰撞后的环境相联系。支持澜沧江构造带为冈瓦纳与扬子大陆边缘多岛弧系统的边界即古特提斯主洋盆的观点。澜沧江洋的闭合时间早于澜沧花岗岩带的形成年龄220Ma,根据构造带上相关研究成果,倾向于认同碰撞时间在280Ma左右。  相似文献

黑龙江省岔路口超大型斑岩钼矿床位于大兴安岭北部,是目前中国东北地区最大的钼矿床,矿体赋存于中酸性杂岩体及侏罗系火山-沉积岩内,其中,晚侏罗世花岗斑岩、石英斑岩、细粒花岗岩与钼矿化关系密切。6件辉钼矿样品的铼-锇等时线年龄为(148±1)Ma。中侏罗世二长花岗岩属钾玄岩系列,w(SiO2)为69.48% ~ 74.98%,w(Al2O3)为12.35%~14.48%,w(K2O+Na2O)为7.67%~10.42%,K2O/Na2O比值介于1.07~2.81。轻、重稀土元素分馏较强,具有较弱的铕负异常,HFSE和LILE分异明显,Rb、K等元素富集,Ta、Nb、P、Ti等元素亏损,显示正εHft)值;晚侏罗世花岗斑岩、石英斑岩属钾玄岩系列,而细粒花岗岩属高钾钙碱性系列,w(SiO2)为73.87%~78.95%,w(Al2O3)为10.35%~13.47%,w(K2O+Na2O)为8.06%~10.02%,K2O/Na2O比值介于1.03~8.20。轻、重稀土元素分馏较强,具有明显的铕负异常,HFSE和LILE分异明显,Rb、K、Th等元素富集,P、Ti、Ba、Sr等元素亏损,显示正εHft)值。二长花岗岩、花岗斑岩、石英斑岩及细粒花岗岩均为高硅、富碱的高分异I型花岗岩,岩浆源区组成类似,主要来自于新元古代期间亏损地幔增生的年轻下地壳物质。岔路口斑岩钼矿床是晚侏罗世大陆内部构造-岩浆活化的产物,形成于蒙古-鄂霍次克造山带后碰撞伸展环境,同时,可能受到古太平洋板块俯冲诱发的弧后伸展作用的叠加。  相似文献

同普杂岩体位于藏东江达地区。本文对该杂岩体岩相学、年代学、主微量元素以及Sr-Nd同位素进行了详细的研究。结果表明,该杂岩体主要由石英闪长岩、花岗闪长岩、含黑云母花岗岩和斑状花岗岩4种岩石类型组成,前三者形成时代分别为262.8±1.5Ma、263.9±1.9Ma、263.7±1.6Ma。其中,含黑云母花岗岩与斑状花岗岩呈渐变过渡关系,它们和花岗闪长岩一起均具有高SiO2(65.1%~76.6%)、高K2O+Na2O(4.84%~8.13%),低MgO(0.25%~2.28%),低FeOT(0.99%~4.44%),高A/CNK值(除一件样品外两者A/CNK值均大于1.1),以及Ba、Sr、Eu亏损等,均符合强过铝质S型花岗岩的特征。但前两者与后者CaO/Na2O、Rb/Ba、Rb/Sr值均存在明显差异,哈克图解上也不存在线性关系,表明它们源区存在差异。石英闪长岩则具有相对低的SiO2(54.2%~55.4%)、低K2O+Na2O(3.15%~4.72%),高MgO(3.78%~4.79%),高FeOT(6.13%~8.09%)等特征。其还具有明显的Nb负异常,不具有Sr的负异常,以及轻稀土相对富集等,均符合岛弧岩浆岩的特征。Sr-Nd同位素特征显示,斑状花岗岩与花岗闪长岩具有相似的初始Sr比值(分别为0.7099,0.7125)和εNd(t)值(分别为-8.6,-10.3),而石英闪长岩则具有较低的初始Sr比值(0.7062),较高的εNd(t)值(1.37)。前两者均落入研究区S型花岗岩与高硅流纹岩区域,后者落在金沙江MORB的下方。通过综合分析,本文认为同普杂岩体形成于火山弧环境,且各岩石类型具有不同的源区:含黑云母花岗岩、斑状花岗岩与花岗闪长岩的源区分别为古老的泥质变质岩和贫泥质的变质砂岩;石英闪长岩则来自富集地幔。表明在晚二叠世早期(~263Ma)金沙江洋盆仍处于俯冲阶段,江达地区主要受金沙江洋盆俯冲消减体系控制而非地幔柱体系。  相似文献

位于江西省的峡江铀矿床为华南一个典型的花岗岩型铀矿床,铀矿体产在金滩花岗岩体中。野外地质调查和锆石U-Pb同位素定年工作表明金滩花岗岩体主要由两期的印支期花岗岩组成,其中含矿的等粒状二云母花岗岩形成于239±1Ma,而主体的斑状黑云母花岗岩则形成于226±2Ma。二云母花岗岩具有较高的SiO2含量(74.09%~74.53%)和明显低的TiO2、CaO和MgO含量,铝饱和指数为1.20~1.46,含有白云母和石榴子石等过铝质矿物,属于典型的强过铝S型花岗岩。斑状黑云母花岗岩的地球化学特征略微不同于二云母花岗岩,相对富集高场强元素和稀土元素,具有明显更低的Rb/Sr比值以及更小的Eu负异常,铝饱和指数变化为1.05~1.13,属于弱过铝到强过铝花岗岩。同位素组成上,两者都具有较低的εNdt)值(二云母花岗岩:-9.0~-8.8;斑状黑云母二长花岗岩:-9.8~-9.4)和古元古代的模式年龄(二云母花岗岩:1.73~1.75Ga;斑状黑云母二长花岗岩:1.77~1.80Ga)。地球化学和同位素特征表明金滩岩体中的这两期印支期花岗岩应该都为S型花岗岩。较高的Rb/Sr比值和较低的CaO/Na2O比值表明二云母花岗岩主要由富粘土的泥质沉积岩部分熔融而来,而斑状黑云母二长花岗岩则主要由贫粘土的碎屑沉积岩部分熔融而来。金滩岩体中的两期印支期花岗岩分别对应于华南印支期同碰撞挤压和碰撞后伸展期的岩浆作用。二云母花岗岩含有更高的U含量,矿物学以及地球化学特征与华南其他的典型产铀花岗岩类似。对比研究表明,华南印支期产铀花岗岩的形成应与同碰撞期挤压背景下的泥质沉积岩的部分熔融有关。  相似文献

通过对猫儿山花岗岩及其相邻基底地层进行地球化学与成矿潜力研究,发现猫儿山花岗岩具有高硅(SiO2=67.61%~83.16%)、富钾(K2O=3.75%~6.28%)、富铁(FeOT=1.85%~5.38%)、贫钠(Na2O=0.08%~3.06%)、贫镁(MgO=0.14%~1.28%)、过铝质(A/CNK的平均值为1.49)的特征,稀土元素总量较高,轻稀土富集,Eu显示负异常(δEu=0.15~0.46),为主要形成于后造山构造环境的强过铝质S型花岗岩。同时,猫儿山花岗岩及其相邻基底地层的元素组合、烃类组分具有继承性关系,花岗岩主要来源于基底地层的部分熔融,W、Sn、Bi具备良好的成矿潜力。换言之,基底地层不仅为大规模的岩浆活动提供了物质基础,同时也为花岗岩浆进一步分异形成钨锡多金属矿化(矿床)提供了成矿物质来源。  相似文献

西藏萨嘎地区布朵淡色花岗岩位于喜马拉雅造山带中,属北喜马拉雅造山带的花岗岩。本次研究的萨嘎布朵淡色花岗岩,具高SiO2(72. 26% ~ 73. 05%)、富Al2O3(14. 61% ~ 14. 98%)、高K2O(3. 65% ~ 4. 09%)和Na2O(3. 47% ~ 3. 76%)、低P2O5(0. 09% ~ 0. 12%)的特征,K2O/Na2O = 1. 00 ~ 1. 08、A/CNK = 1. 18 ~ 1. 24,属高钾、过铝质钙碱性S型花岗岩。岩石微量元素变化较大,∑REE = 98. 87 × 10-6 ~ 124. 51 × 10-6、LREE/HREE = 11. 24 ~ 16. 12、Rb = 187 × 10-6 ~ 234 × 10-6、Sr = 311 × 10-6 ~ 409 × 10-6、LaN/YbN = 19. 96 ~ 40. 28、δEu = 0. 89 ~ 0. 99。 布朵淡色花岗岩结晶时间为16. 15 Ma,与区域上的其他的北喜马拉雅淡色花岗岩结晶时间一致,均是形成于陆陆碰撞造山后的伸展背景,代表印度—欧亚大陆后碰撞期的产物,对喜马拉雅造山带的研究有一定的指导意义。  相似文献

扬子陆块西缘晚中元古代地质演化史一直存在较大争议,本文选择以扬子西缘元谋杂岩中一套二长花岗岩为研究对象,开展岩相学、锆石U-Pb年代学、全岩地球化学等综合研究,为认识和理解扬子西缘晚中元古代地质演化提供支撑。两件元谋二长花岗岩样品的LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb年龄分别为1086±10 Ma(MSWD=1.4,n=50)和1099±10 Ma(MSWD=1.8,n=58)。所有样品具有高硅(SiO2为69.44%~73.98%)、富碱(Na2O+K2O为6.11%~7.72%)、贫钙(CaO为0.39%~1.46%)、贫镁(MgO为0.52%~0.76%)、低钛(TiO2为0.30%~0.59%)的特点,同时表现出强过铝质(A/CNK=1.19~1.35)及中钾钙碱性–钾玄岩系列特征。它们具有高的稀土元素总量(∑REE=211.60×10-6~349.01×10-6),呈现轻稀土元素富集和重稀土元素亏损((La/Yb)N=4.32~7.36);富集Rb、U、Th等大离子亲石元素和Zr、Th、Hf等,亏损Nb、Ta、Ba等元素,并具有明显的负Eu异常(δEu=0.46~0.59),锆石饱和温度介于827~912℃之间,展示了A型花岗岩的属性。这些二长花岗岩可能是通过中上地壳的中酸性火成岩的部分熔融形成,结合前人的研究成果,它们最可能形成于弧后的伸展环境,综合扬子陆块周缘晚中元古代的岩浆记录,元谋杂岩中1.09 Ga二长花岗岩的形成应与扬子陆块开始参与Rodinia超大陆聚合有关。  相似文献

粤西高枨铅锌银矿区黑云母花岗岩的年代学及岩石成因   总被引:3,自引:1,他引:2  
粤西高枨大型铅锌银矿赋存在黑云母花岗岩中,本文采用LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb测年获得黑云母花岗岩的结晶年龄为429±13Ma,为早志留世,属于加里东期岩浆活动的产物。详细的地球化学分析显示岩石的SiO2含量为(64.33%~74.54%,平均为68.67%),Al2O3含量偏高(13.88%~16.61%),碱质含量高(K2O+Na2O=5.31%~7.89%),低P2O5(<0.25%)含量,强过铝质(A/CNK=1.07~1.32)。岩石富集LREE和Rb、K、U、Pb,贫Ba、Sr、Nb、P、Ti元素,铕呈负异常(Eu/Eu*=0.38~0.90)。以上特征表明该岩体属于钙碱性强过铝质花岗岩。经年龄校正后的206Pb/204Pb,207Pb/204Pb 和208Pb/204Pb值分别为17.458~18.131、15.563~15.638和37.547~38.406。Sr初始值变化范围较大((87Sr/86Sr)i=0.7091~0.7259),但εNd(429Ma) 值相对较低 (-8.9~-6.1),暗示岩体来源于元古代(t2DM=1.67~1.83Ga)的地壳组分,其源岩主要为含少量泥质的砂岩质组成。结合区域地质背景的综合分析,认为高枨黑云母花岗岩与华夏板块与扬子板块发生板内碰撞-拼合事件有关,由元古代地壳物质重熔形成的形成的S型花岗岩。  相似文献

受东西向佛冈-丰良断裂控制的佛冈复式岩体形成于多期次和不同来源的岩浆侵入作用。白沙地区细粒黑云母二长花岗岩体位于佛冈岩体北缘,是佛冈岩体的一部分,成因目前还不明确。文章以该岩体细粒黑云母二长花岗岩为研究对象,进行了岩石学、锆石U-Pb年代学、地球化学和Hf同位素组成研究。研究结果显示,白沙地区细粒黑云母二长花岗岩LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb加权平均年龄为155.6~157.1 Ma,表明其侵位于晚侏罗世。岩体具高硅(w(SiO2)=70.74%~77.47%)、富碱(w(Na2O+K2O)=5.78%~8.62%)、低磷(w(P2O5)=0~0.10)等特征,富集Rb、Th、U、K、Pb、Nd、Zr和Hf等元素,亏损Ba、Nb、La、Ce、Sr、P、Eu和Ti等元素。岩石总体上明显富集轻稀土元素((La/Yb)N=0.94~54.69,1个为0.94),具明显的负Eu异常(δEu=0.07~0.57,n=6),个别正Eu异常(1.00~1.16,n=3)。岩体地球化学特征指示,细粒黑云母二长花岗岩为高分异I型花岗岩。岩体形成于古太平洋板块(库拉板块)与欧亚板块俯冲作用和菲律宾地块与南中国-印支地块的岩石圈消减作用下,岩石圈伸展-减薄,导致地幔物质上涌,在高温条件热流作用下幔源物质诱导下地壳中-元古代物质部分熔融形成。  相似文献

Komatiites are mantle-derived ultramafic volcanic rocks. Komatiites have been discovered in several States of India, notably in Karnataka. Studies on the distribution of trace-elements in the komatiites of India are very few. This paper proposes a simple, accurate, precise, rapid, and non-destructive wavelength-dispersive x-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometric technique for determining Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th in komatiites, and discusses the accuracy, precision, limits of detection, x-ray spectral-line interferences, inter-element effects, speed, advantages, and limitations of the technique. The accuracy of the technique is excellent (within 3%) for Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th and very good (within 4%) for Y. The precision is also excellent (within 3%) for Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th. The limits of detection are: 1 ppm for Sc and V; 2 ppm for Cr, Co, and Ni; 3 ppm for Cu, Zn, Rb, and Sr; 4 ppm for Y and Zr; 6 ppm for Nb; 10 ppm for Ba; 13 ppm for Pb; and 14 ppm for Th. The time taken for determining Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th in a batch of 24 samples of komatiites, for a replication of four analyses per sample, by one operator, using a manual WDXRF spectrometer, is only 60 hours.  相似文献

最新的流行病学研究表明,空气中较高浓度的悬浮细颗粒可能对人类的健康有不利的影响。根据该项研究显示,由于心脏病、慢性呼吸问题和肺功能指标恶化而导致死亡率的升高与细尘粒子有关。这些研究结果已经促使欧盟于1999年4月出台了限制空气中二氧化硫、二氧化氮、氧化氮、铅和颗粒物含量的法案(1999/30/EC),对各项指标包括对可吸入PM10颗粒的浓度提出了新的限制性指标。PM10颗粒是指可以通过预分级器分离采集的气体动力学直径小于10μm的细颗粒。目前研究的兴趣重点逐步偏向PM2.5这些更细微颗粒物,PM2.5这种颗粒物对健康有明显的不利影响。在欧盟指令2008/50/EC中,对PM10和PM2.5都提  相似文献

This paper reports the first results of a study of 11 isotope systems (3He/4He, 40Ar/36Ar, 34S/32S, 65Cu/63Cu, 62Ni/60Ni, 87Sr/86Sr, 143Nd/144Nd, 206–208Pb/204Pb, Hf–Nd, U–Pb, and Re–Os) in the rocks and ores of the Cu–Ni–PGE deposits of the Norilsk ore district. Almost all the results were obtained at the Center of Isotopic Research of the Karpinskii All-Russia Research Institute of Geology. The use of a number of independent genetic isotopic signatures and comprehensive isotopic knowledge provided a methodic basis for the interpretation of approximately 5000 isotopic analyses of various elements. The presence of materials from two sources, crust and mantle, was detected in the composition of the rocks and ores. The contribution of the crustal source is especially significant in the paleofluids (gas–liquid microinclusions) of the ore-forming medium. Crustal solutions were probably a transport medium during ore formation. Air argon is dominant in the ores, which indicates a connection between the paleofluids and the atmosphere. This suggests intense groundwater circulation during the crystallization of ore minerals. The age of the rocks and ores of the Norilsk deposits was determined. The stage of orebody formation is restricted to a narrow age interval of 250 ± 10 Ma. An isotopic criterion was proposed for the ore-bearing potential of mafic intrusions in the Norilsk–Taimyr region. Mining induced subsidence can significantly affect mining costs where major surface facilities and natural environment need to be protected. Overburden grout injection is a technology used to control coal mine subsidence by injecting the mine waste material extracted from the coal back into the inter-burden rock during longwall mining. The flowing slurry is here categorised as a nonlinear viscous cohesive (Bingham plastic) fluid. During longwall mining the grout slurry is pumped into the separated beds of the rock mass through a central vertical borehole, which is drilled deep into the inter-burden rock strata above the coal seam. However, a blockage can occur in the injection system when the slurry velocity falls below a certain critical threshold velocity, indicating a material phase change from cohesive-viscous to cohesive-frictional. In situ field injection tests through boreholes have been simulated at a smaller scale at the CSIRO laboratory in Brisbane by pumping the slurry through a radial disk (gap = 4 mm) from its centre. Laboratory experiments indicate a general, nonlinear, cohesive, viscous, frictional model for shear behaviour of the slurry, in which the material shear parameters are functions of the disk radial distance. Complete dimensional and dimensionless analytical solutions have been developed based on an approach related to Bingham–Herschel–Bulkley fluid mechanics. The derived formulae include relations for minimum pump pressure, local pressure and pressure gradient, wall shear stress, volume rate, velocity and velocity gradient. The theoretical results match the experimental measurements. The experiments covered slurries with maximum particle sizes of 0.5 to 2 mm with about 50% being larger than 100 µm. The viscosities at the various solids concentrations were measured with a standard torsion viscometer. This study differs from the previous research in several distinct aspects, namely, consideration of the variable shear parameters rather than fixed values, inclusion of total nonlinear behaviour, and implementation of a friction function to mimic behaviour of the deposited and consolidating stiff slurry, which can cause a significant pressure rise as a result of the increased shear resistance.  相似文献

在常温常压条件下对中国大陆科学钻CCSD主孔100-3000米岩心样品进行了密度测量,建立了密度连续剖面,并界定了不同超高压岩石的密度值。通过对比高温高压物性实验资料,岩石密度随着退变程度增强而降低,榴辉岩密度变化序列为3.52g/cm3→3.49g/cm3→3.07g/cm3→2.93g/cm3。超高压长英质岩石密度变化序列为3.00g/cm→2.80g/cm3→2.65g/cm3。上述实验资料是讨论不同折返阶段岩石所受浮力的基础,为研究折返速率大小提供了基本参数。本文通过折返板块运动平衡时,上浮力与粘滞力平衡这一关系式,定量研究了大陆俯冲板块的折返速率,认为密度差产生上浮力从而引起折返,温度对板块折返速率的影响最为显著;密度差大小、折返角度、折返板块大小对折返速率也有直接的影响。定量模拟分析表明,在温度高于850℃时,板块的折返速率可以超过100mm/a;当温度降至700℃时,折返速率则低于1.5mm/a。作者认为在折返早期,温度较高,板块快速折返至60-70km榴辉岩相深度;随着传导散热,温度降低,板块以较慢的速率折返至中下地壳。折返速率的估算表明,浮力是板块折返第一阶段(从>100km深部折返至<40km的中下地壳)的主要驱动力。  相似文献

Bellechester, Minnesota, is a small community of approximately 155 residents located on the county line between Goodhue and Wabasha counties in southeast Minnesota's karst region. Bellechester is served by a 21-year-old wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) consisting of three waste-stabilization ponds. On 28 April 1992 six sinkholes were discovered to have drained cell 2 of the WWTF resulting in the loss of approximately 8.7×106 1 of partially treated effluent and about 600 m3 of soil into previously undetected subsurface voids of unknown dimensions. In the week following the collapse, approximately 200 water wells located within a 5-km radius of the WWTF were sampled in an after-the-fact, emergency sampling program. Twelve samples with elevated fecal coliform levels, 18 samples with nitrate-nitrogen greater than the 10 mg/1 standard, and no samples with elevated chlorides were found. However, the elevated levels could not be unambiguously attributed to the WWTF collapse. This is the third WWTF to fail by sinkhole collapse in southeast Minnesota since 1974. All three collapsed lagoons have been located in similar geomorphic and stratigraphic settings. However, at least two lagoons have collapsed in the adjacent area in northeast Iowa, and these lagoons are located at different stratigraphic positions. Twenty-two WWTFs constructed in southeast Minnesota's karst region in the last 25 years have been identified as subject to potential sinkhole collapse. An unknown but significant number of manure storage lagoons, flood control structures, etc., have also been constructed in the karst region and are at risk. Public agencies are beginning to develop plans to deal with the risk associated with existing and future waste lagoons in this environment. The critical hydrogeologic parameters that can be used to prioritize the risk of collapse at existing facilities include: (1) the lithology of the first bedrock beneath each lagoon, (2) the thickness of surficial materials between the lagoon and the bedrock surface, (3) the presence and construction of liners (seepage rate), and (4) the proximity to existing sinkholes.  相似文献

The Kuskokwim River at Bethel, Alaska, drains a major mercury-antimony metallogenic province in its upper reaches and tributaries. Bethel (population 4000) is situated on the Kuskokwim floodplain and also draws its water supply from wells located in river-deposited sediment. A boring through overbank and floodplain sediment has provided material to establish a baseline datum for sediment-hosted heavy metals. Mercury (total), arsenic, antimony, and selenium contents were determined; aluminum was also determined and used as normalizing factor. The contents of the heavy metals were relatively constant with depth and do not reflect any potential enrichment from upstream contaminant sources.  相似文献
