Inverse problems are ubiquitous in the Earth Sciences. Many such problems are ill-posed in the sense that multiple solutions can be found that match the data to be inverted. To impose restrictions on these solutions, a prior distribution of the model parameters is required. In a spatial context this prior model can be as simple as a Multi-Gaussian law with prior covariance matrix, or could come in the form of a complex training image describing the prior statistics of the model parameters. In this paper, two methods for generating inverse solutions constrained to such prior model are compared. The gradual deformation method treats the problem of finding inverse solution as an optimization problem. Using a perturbation mechanism, the gradual deformation method searches (optimizes) in the prior model space for those solutions that match the data to be inverted. The perturbation mechanism guarantees that the prior model statistics are honored. However, it is shown with a simple example that this perturbation method does not necessarily draw accurately samples from a given posterior distribution when the inverse problem is framed within a Bayesian context. On the other hand, the probability perturbation method approaches the inverse problem as a data integration problem. This method explicitly deals with the problem of combining prior probabilities with pre-posterior probabilities derived from the data. It is shown that the sampling properties of the probability perturbation method approach the accuracy of well-known Markov chain Monte Carlo samplers such as the rejection sampler. The use of principal component analysis in studying chemical trends in volcanic rock suites is described. It is suggested that eigenvectors generated from a correlation matrix, rather than a covariance matrix, could be used in this context. In the latter situation many elements are swamped by silicon's numerical size and range. In the former situation the alkalies and titanium begin to show their true importance.  相似文献

通过岩心观察、薄片鉴定并借助X衍射全岩矿物分析,对柴达木盆地南翼山油田新近系油砂山组储集层特征进行分析。该区岩石中泥质含量高,岩性复杂,可划分为泥岩、碳酸盐岩、砂岩和混积岩4种类型。储集层中发育粒间孔、溶蚀孔、微孔隙和微裂缝等,形成了具有双重孔隙介质的储集空间特征。微裂缝是该区主要渗流通道,而微孔隙是主要储集空间,储集层物性总体较差。该区微裂缝类型包括构造缝、溶蚀缝和成岩缝。储集层岩石纹层发育,砂质纹层和泥灰质纹层交互出现,沉积和成岩作用过程中岩石受力不均衡、碳酸盐矿物的溶解以及泥岩收缩是形成微裂缝的主要原因。该区储集层物性受压实作用明显变差,溶蚀和胶结作用同时存在,对储集层物性影响较大。储集层岩石毛管压力曲线由近似垂直的斜线段和近似水平的曲线段两部分组成,中间存在较为明显的拐折点。斜线段反映了微裂缝特征,近似水平曲线反映了微孔隙特征。利用毛管压力曲线求取的排驱压力和平均孔喉半径无法真实地表述此类微裂缝储集层的孔隙结构特征,提出了有效孔喉半径概念,可以合理表述该区微裂缝储集层孔隙结构特征。  相似文献

Poro‐mechanical and thermo‐mechanical processes change the fracture aperture and thus affect the water flow pattern in the fracture during the cold water injection into enhanced geothermal systems (EGS). In addition, the stresses generated by these processes contribute to the phenomenon of reservoir seismicity. In this paper, we present a three‐dimensional (3D) partially coupled poro‐thermoelastic model to investigate the poroelastic and thermoelastic effects of cold water injection in EGS. In the model, the lubrication fluid flow and the convective heat transfer in the fracture are modeled by the finite element method, while the pore fluid diffusion and heat conductive transfer in the reservoir matrix are assumed to be 3D and modeled by the boundary integral equation method without the need to discretize the reservoir. The stresses at the fracture surface and in the reservoir matrix are obtained from the numerical model and can be used to assess the variation of in situ stress and induced seismicty with injection/extraction. Application of the model shows that rock cooling induces large tensile stresses and increases fracture conductivity, whereas the rock dilation caused by fluid leakoff decreases fracture aperture and increases compressive total stresses around the injection zone. However, increases in pore pressure reduce the effective stresses and can contribute to rock failure, fracture slip, and microseismic activity. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

增强型地热系统(EGS)是在干热岩技术基础上提出来的一个清洁能源概念,水力压裂建立人工热储是开采地下干热岩热能的有效方法之一。利用TOUGH2系列软件对增强型地热系统进行模拟,具体介绍了对水压致裂过程中裂隙网络模拟的处理方法。裂隙中的水流可以采用不同的概念模型,最为常见的模型包括双空隙率、双渗透率、多重相互作用连续统一体(MINC)以及有效连续统一体(ECM),这些模型明确了对离散的裂隙和基质的模拟方法。应根据基质的渗透性和裂隙的性质灵活地选择裂隙处理方法,也可将不同方法结合起来使用。提出了几种有效的混合模拟方案,对将来高温岩体地热开发具有重要意义。  相似文献

本次通过对高邮凹陷阜宁组一段38口井的岩芯描述和400余块样品的普通薄片、铸体薄片和扫描电镜的镜下观察以及物性分析和含油性分析等,对储层的岩性、粒度、杂基含量、层理结构、生物扰动构造等因素与储层的成岩现象、物性特征和含油性的关系进行了详细研究,总结了沉积微相对成岩作用、储层物性的影响和与储层含油气性的关系。储层的岩石成分对储层的成岩作用及物性有重要影响,岩屑较软,易被压实和溶解,浅埋藏时,孔隙度和渗透率随着岩屑含量的增大而增大;当埋藏较深时,孔隙度和渗透率随岩屑含量增加而快速下降。储层的粒度对储层的成岩作用及物性也有重要影响,一般随着粒度的增大,孔隙度、渗透率都相应增大。储层的层理类型对成岩作用及物性也有重要影响,块状层理、交错层理或平行层理砂岩的分选性好,杂基含量较低,属于颗粒支撑结构,从而有利于原生孔隙的保存,为后期地下酸性流体对储层的溶蚀改造提供了渗流条件;波状交错层理等砂岩除不具备这一条件外,砂层内部弯曲的纹层给地下流体的流动增加了困难,不利于次生孔隙的发育和油气的进入。沉积微相对储层物性的控制,主要表现在其对原始物性的控制,分选好、原始物性好的储层在埋藏成岩演化过程中,由于对地层流体的流动的阻力小,其储集空间可以由于致密胶结作用完全消失,也可以得到溶蚀改善和保存;但泥质含量高的储层,其原始物性不好,对地层流体的流动阻力大,尤其是油气难于进入,储层主要遭受破坏,而难以得到改善和保存。  相似文献

针对火山岩岩性复杂,非均质性强,特别是深层地震资料信噪比相对较低,有效储层识别及预测难度大的问题,以营城组三段为目的层位,在分析火山机构地球物理特征和火山岩平面分布特征的基础上,运用地质统计学反演方法,通过GR反演预测酸性岩、中性岩和基性岩的分布.工区中性岩最为发育,厚度为400~800m;基性岩和酸性岩相对不发育.在岩性识别的基础上,运用密度反演分别圈定不同岩性的有效储层,本区有效储层主要以中性岩和基性岩为主,在火山锥、断裂和裂缝相对发育的地区,有效储层相对发育.  相似文献

Bayesian updating methods provide an alternate philosophy to the characterization of the input variables of a stochastic mathematical model. Here, a priori values of statistical parameters are assumed on subjective grounds or by analysis of a data base from a geologically similar area. As measurements become available during site investigations, updated estimates of parameters characterizing spatial variability are generated. However, in solving the traditional updating equations, an updated covariance matrix may be generated that is not positive-definite, particularly when observed data errors are small. In addition, measurements may indicate that initial estimates of the statistical parameters are poor. The traditional procedure does not have a facility to revise the parameter estimates before the update is carried out. alternatively, Bayesian updating can be viewed as a linear inverse problem that minimizes a weighted combination of solution simplicity and data misfit. Depending on the weight given to the a priori information, a different solution is generated. A Bayesian updating procedure for log-conductivity interpolation that uses a singular value decomposition (SVD) is presented. An efficient and stable algorithm is outlined that computes the updated log-conductivity field and the a posteriori covariance of the estimated values (estimation errors). In addition, an information density matrix is constructed that indicates how well predicted data match observations. Analysis of this matrix indicates the relative importance of the observed data. The SVD updating procedure is used to interpolate the log-conductivity fields of a series of hypothetical aquifers to demonstrate pitfalls and possibilities of the method.  相似文献

Moving averages for Gaussian simulation in two and three dimensions   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
The square-root method provides a simple and computationally inexpensive way to generate multidimensional Gaussian random fields. It is applied by factoring the multidimensional covariance operator analytically, then sampling the factorization at discrete points to compute an array of weighted averages that can be convolved with an array of random normal deviates to generate a correlated random field. In many respects this is similar to the LUdecomposition method and to the one-dimensional method of moving averages. However it has been assumed that the method of moving averages could not be used in higher dimensions, whereas direct application of the matrix decomposition approach is too expensive to be practical on large grids. In this paper, I show that it is possible to calculate the square root of many two- and three dimensional covariance operators analytically so that the method of moving averages can be applied directly to the problem of multidimensional simulation. A few numerical examples of nonconditional simulation on a 256×256 grid that show the simplicity of the method are included. The method is fast and can be applied easily to nested and anisotropic variograms.  相似文献

Summary This paper describes the results from a continuing research project started in 1984, which is investigating improved methods for predicting the underground climate in hot mines. The Homestake Gold Mine in South Dakota was the site for testing methods, based on radial heat flow theory, to measurein situ values of the thermal conductivity and diffusivity of rock. The methods used proved to be quite within the capability of mine staff to carry out for themselves. The results were acceptable and verified thatin situ thermal rock properties can differ considerably from laboratory determined values, in this case by a factor of approximately two.A mine climate simulation program, CLIMSIM, was applied to case studies from the Homestake mine using the measured thermal rock parameters. The results showed good correlation between the measured and simulated values.  相似文献

Physico-mechanical properties of rocks have great significance in all operational parts in mining activities, from exploration to final dispatch of material. Compressional wave velocity (p-wave velocity) and anisotropic behaviour of rocks are two such properties which help to understand the rock response under varying stress conditions. They also influence the breakage mechanism of rock. There are different methods to determine thep-wave velocity and anisotropyin situ and in the laboratory. These methods are cumbersome and time consuming. Fuzzy set theory, Fuzzy logic and Neural Networks techniques seem very well suited for typical geotechnical problems. In conjunction with statistics and conventional mathematical methods, hybrid methods can be developed that may prove to be a step forward in modeling geotechnical problems. Here, we have developed and compared two different models, Neuro-fuzzy systems (combination of fuzzy and artificial neural network systems) and Artificial neural network systems, for the prediction of compressional wave velocity.  相似文献

Improving the Ensemble Estimate of the Kalman Gain by Bootstrap Sampling   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
Using a small ensemble size in the ensemble Kalman filter methodology is efficient for updating numerical reservoir models but can result in poor updates following spurious correlations between observations and model variables. The most common approach for reducing the effect of spurious correlations on model updates is multiplication of the estimated covariance by a tapering function that eliminates all correlations beyond a prespecified distance. Distance-dependent tapering is not always appropriate, however. In this paper, we describe efficient methods for discriminating between the real and the spurious correlations in the Kalman gain matrix by using the bootstrap method to assess the confidence level of each element from the Kalman gain matrix. The new method is tested on a small linear problem, and on a water flooding reservoir history matching problem. For the water flooding example, a small ensemble size of 30 was used to compute the Kalman gain in both the screened EnKF and standard EnKF methods. The new method resulted in significantly smaller root mean squared errors of the estimated model parameters and greater variability in the final updated ensemble.  相似文献

松辽盆地梨树断陷营城组储层岩石类型以长石砂岩和岩屑质长石砂岩为主,储层物性测试结果表明,该区储层物性较差,整体具有"低孔特低孔-特低渗超低渗"的特征。综合利用岩心观察、薄片鉴定、图像分析及压汞测试等多种技术方法,对梨树断陷营城组低渗储层特征及物性控制因素进行分析,结果显示:储层主要的储集空间类型为原生孔隙、次生溶蚀孔隙及少量混合孔隙,发育压实作用、溶解作用、胶结作用及交代作用等成岩作用类型;成岩作用演化序列为压实作用→长石、岩屑溶解/石英加大→碳酸盐胶结→碳酸盐溶解;沉积作用和成岩作用之间的耦合关系决定了储层物性的好坏。在此基础上,采用反演回剥的方法进行成岩演化序列与孔隙结构约束下的储层地质历史时期物性演化史恢复。二者结合研究表明,研究区低渗储层成因机制主要为沉积作用主控、压实作用主导、胶结作用强化。  相似文献

Little consensus exists on how best to analyze natural fracture spacings and their sequences. Field measurements and analyses published in geotechnical literature imply fracture processes radically different from those assumed by theoretical structural geologists. The approach adopted in this paper recognizes that disruption of rock layers by layer-parallel extension results in two spacing distributions, one representing layer-fragment lengths and another separation distances between fragments. These two distributions and their sequences reflect mechanics and history of fracture and separation. Such distributions and sequences, represented by a 2 × nmatrix of lengths L,can be analyzed using a method that is history sensitive and which yields also a scalar estimate of bulk extension, e(L).The method is illustrated by a series of Monte Carlo experiments representing a variety of fracture-and-separation processes, each with distinct implications for extension history. Resulting distributions of e(L) are process-specific, suggesting that the inverse problem of deducing fracture-and-separation history from final structure may be tractable.  相似文献

Due to the powerful anisotropy of the physical properties of volcanic reservoirs, their component minerals and pore configuration are very complex, rendering fluid identification very difficult. This paper first computed the cementation exponent, which was based on triple porosity model, then used the varied matrix density and matrix neutron to compute the porosity, and finally combined with resistivity well log, and a P 1/2 probability distribution curve was built. The fluid properties were predicted from the shape of the P 1/2 probability distribution curve. Good results were achieved when these methods were used in the volcanic reservoir of the Wangfu fault depression, which indicated that these methods can be used in the fluid property identification of volcanic reservoirs and can also be referred to for other lithology reservoirs.  相似文献

为了解马岭油田南二区延9油藏长期注水后储层特征的变化及产生机理,通过室内物理模拟实验方法,结合矿场2口检查井取心分析结果,研究了注水前后储层物性、孔喉特征和渗流特征的变化。结果表明:长期注水后,由于注入水对储层的作用主要集中在孔隙的喉道部分,储层渗透率明显增大,孔隙度增加较小;储层物性的增加主要与水洗后粘土矿物含量的降低、水洗程度、储层初始渗透率大小和裂缝的开启有关,其中裂缝开启对储层物性的影响最显著;水洗后储层岩石表面油膜脱落,岩石润湿性由亲油性变为亲水性。以上综合作用的结果使油水两相流动能力增强、两相区范围变宽,水驱油效率增大。可见马岭油田南二区延9油藏注水开发中储层的变化有利于油田开发。  相似文献

The kriging estimator is usually computed in a moving neighborhood; only the data near the point to be estimated are used. This moving neighborhood approach creates discontinuities in mapping applications. An alternative approach is presented here, whereby all points are estimated using all the available data. To solve the resulting large linear system the kriging estimator is expressed in terms of the inverse of the covariance matrix. The covariance matrix has the advantage of being positive definite and the size of system which can be solved without encountering numerical instability is substantially increased. Because the kriging matrix does not change, the estimator can be written in terms of scalar products, thus avoiding the more time-consuming matrix multiplications of the standard approach. In the particular case of a covariance which is zero for distances greater than a fixed value (the range), the resulting banded structure of the covariance matrix is shown to lead to substantial computational savings in both run time and storage space. In this case the calculation time for the kriging variance is also substantially reduced. The present method is extended to the nonstationary case.  相似文献
