通过对澧阳平原野外调查,多剖面地层对比分析及岩板垱(YBD)剖面样品的粒度、地球化学元素分析和年代测定,揭示该区晚更新世晚期至全新世早中期环境演变,并探讨其对人类活动的影响。研究结果表明,30~6 ka B.P.间,澧阳平原由冲沟发育的黄土台地向河湖发育的平原丘岗地貌过渡;气候环境经历了弱暖湿-气候变差-凉湿-波动回暖-暖湿的变化;更新世末至全新世早期稻作农业的出现与该区的环境条件和文化基础密切相关;环境演变也推动了古人类活动范围和聚落特征的变化。  相似文献

中国暖温带海岸的风尘沉积序列是断续分布于渤海-北黄海沿岸的以黄褐色为主的粉砂质或砂质沉积物。通过查阅1960年以来的文献资料,综述了此类沉积的分布规律、地层形态、沉积特征、地质年代、形成机制和古环境演变等方面的成果,认为其主体为陆架沙漠化环境下的衍生沉积,是冬季风搬运近源物质的结果,时代上属中-晚更新世。因此,暖温带海岸风尘沉积序列是渤海-北黄海陆架沙漠化的有力佐证,且较好地记录了中国中更新世以来中纬度沿海地区的气候环境变化:时间上,气候逐渐干冷;空间上,自北向南风化作用增强。基于研究现状,展望了今后的工作重点和方向。  相似文献

贵德盆地是黄河上游所流串的重要新生代断陷盆地之一,早第三纪开始呈现堆积洼地形态;晚第三纪是其发育的鼎盛时期,其内的水体与共和、兴海、青海湖和西宁等盆地的水体相连,构成一浩瀚的“青东古湖”,堆积了上千米厚的含三趾马(Hipparionsp)等动物化石的贵德群。早、中更新世,盆地有所收缩,但仍为河湖环境。大约14×104年前开始的构造运动使盆地抬升,黄河在这里出现,自那以来黄河累计下切了900-1000m。  相似文献

本文根据5个剖面总的孢粉分析结构和~(14)C数据,应用数理统计方法,结合孢粉图式特征,将北疆晚更新世以来的古环境演化划分为7个阶段。同时探讨了各阶段的植被景观特征,并由此推断各时期古气候环境经历了冷湿——暖干——冷湿——偏冷偏湿——热干——偏凉略干——温干的演变过程。其中1~3阶段为晚更新世,4~7阶段属全新世。  相似文献

We present conceptual models for the tectono-sedimentary evolution of rift basins. Basin architecture depends upon a complex interaction between the three-dimensional evolution of basin linkage through fault propagation, the evolution of drainage and drainage catchments and the effects of changes in climate and sea/lake level. In particular, the processes of fault propagation, growth, linkage and death are major tectonic controls on basin architecture. Current theoretical and experimental models of fault linkage and the direction of fault growth can be tested using observational evidence from the earliest stages of rift development. Basin linkage by burial or breaching of crossover basement ridges is the dominant process whereby hydrologically closed rifts evolve into open ones. Nontectonic effects arising from climate, sea or lake level change are responsible for major changes in basin-scale sedimentation patterns. Major gaps in our understanding of rift basins remain because of current inadequacies in sediment, fault and landscape dating.  相似文献

台湾位于欧亚大陆板块与菲律宾海洋板块的交会处,地体构造较为活跃.同时,受到古气候冰期与间冰期交互作用的影响,造成海平面上下变动,使得古环境产生变化.本研究利用钻孔岩心做地层分析、环境分析及岩心碳同位素定年等资料,了解台湾西南部地壳的活动性、环境演化与各时期海平面变动的历史.海岸线的变动,除了受到海平面变动的影响,亦受到构造沉降活动的控制.综合地壳升降以及海平面升降的数据,推估全新世6200 a BP、3100 a BP和l800 a BP3个海进时期当时的海岸线位置,分别为现今高程20m、10m及6m的位置,这些海平面的变化导致海岸线的迁移,同时影响着先民聚落遗址的变化.并且,利用前述数据推估得出嘉南平原与浊水溪冲积扇的沉积速率大约在3.9~4.5mm/a之间.  相似文献

ABSTRACT Geological mapping and sedimentological investigations in the Guilin region, South China, have revealed a spindle‐ to rhomb‐shaped basin filled with Devonian shallow‐ to deep‐water carbonates. This Yangshuo Basin is interpreted as a pull‐apart basin created through secondary, synthetic strike‐slip faulting induced by major NNE–SSW‐trending, sinistral strike‐slip fault zones. These fault zones were initially reactivated along intracontinental basement faults in the course of northward migration of the South China continent. The nearly N–S‐trending margins of the Yangshuo Basin, approximately coinciding with the strike of regional fault zones, were related to the master strike‐slip faults; the NW–SE‐trending margins were related to parallel, oblique‐slip extensional faults. Nine depositional sequences recognized in Givetian through Frasnian strata can be grouped into three sequence sets (Sequences 1–2, 3–5 and 6–9), reflecting three major phases of basin evolution. During basin nucleation, most basin margins were dominated by stromatoporoid biostromes and bioherms, upon a low‐gradient shelf. Only at the steep, fault‐controlled, eastern margin were thick stromatoporoid reefs developed. The subsequent progressive offset and pull‐apart of the master strike‐slip faults during the late Givetian intensified the differential subsidence and produced a spindle‐shaped basin. The accelerated subsidence of the basin centre led to sediment starvation, reduced current circulation and increased environmental stress, leading to the extensive development of microbial buildups on platform margins and laminites in the basin centre. Stromatoporoid reefs only survived along the windward, eastern margin for a short time. The architectures of the basin margins varied from aggradation (or slightly backstepping) in windward positions (eastern and northern margins) to moderate progradation in leeward positions. A relay ramp was present in the north‐west corner between the northern oblique fault zone and the proximal part of the western master fault. In the latest Givetian (corresponding to the top of Sequence 5), a sudden subsidence of the basin induced by further offset of the strike‐slip faults was accompanied by the rapid uplift of surrounding carbonate platforms, causing considerable platform‐margin collapse, slope erosion, basin deepening and the demise of the microbialites. Afterwards, stromatoporoid reefs were only locally restored on topographic highs along the windward margin. However, a subsequent, more intense basin subsidence in the early Frasnian (top of Sequence 6), which was accompanied by a further sharp uplift of platforms, caused more profound slope erosion and platform backstepping. Poor circulation and oxygen‐depleted waters in the now much deeper basin centre led to the deposition of chert, with silica supplied by hydrothermal fluids through deep‐seated faults. Two ‘subdeeps’ were diagonally arranged in the distal parts of the master faults, and the relay ramp was destroyed. At this time, all basin margins except the western one evolved into erosional types with gullies through which granular platform sediments were transported by gravity flows to the basin. This situation persisted into the latest Frasnian. This case history shows that the carbonate platform architecture and evolution in a pull‐apart basin were not only strongly controlled by the tectonic activity, but also influenced by the oceanographic setting (i.e. windward vs. leeward) and environmental factors.  相似文献

Through the investigation of crustal heterogeneities, sedimentary basin architecture and seismic stratigraphy, we demonstrate how a crust‐scale anisotropy controls the initiation of rifting and the subsequent structural and sedimentological evolution of the Mesozoic Gamtoos Basin, southern South Africa. The results demonstrate that the >90‐km‐long Gamtoos Fault established its length very early in its syn‐rift phase (within ~5 Ma of rift initiation) before accruing over 6 s (two‐way‐travel time (TWT)), or >12 km, of displacement without any significant subsequent increase in length. In addition, there is no evidence at the resolution of the data of fault segmentation, isolated depocentres nor of intra‐basin faults progressively coalescing during the syn‐rift interval. The early establishment of length resulted in a rapid transition from a terrestrial depositional environment to anoxic, deep marine conditions. The Gamtoos Fault has a 90° bend in the fault trace that we propose is inherited from the underlying structure. Immediately adjacent to the bend the basin‐fill is significantly deformed and a high‐amplitude (>1.7s TWT) monoclinal fold is observed. Previous workers proposed that the fold was a consequence of a complex interplay between compression and extension. Through a restoration of the basin‐fill deformation we produce a model that suggests that the fold is a consequence of the accommodation of extension by the unusual plan‐view trace of the fault. The evolution of the basin does not conform to current fault growth models and it is proposed that its unusual and complex development can be attributed to the underlying crustal‐scale anisotropy, a fact that is likely to be important in other areas in which crustal stretching is superimposed on heterogeneous continental crust.  相似文献

The Huaihe River basin of Anhui is not only a transitional zone of physical geography, but also a convergent area of many cultures in China. It is one of the sensitive ecotones to global changes and the birthplace of Chinese civilization. Using the field archaeological data and the sporo-pollens and the age data of the drilling cores, we analysed Neolithic cultural development and environmental evolution in the Huaihe River basin of Anhui. According to the combination of some research results in archaeology with environmental evolution research, this paper discusses the relationship between culture and environment in the Huaihe River basin of Anhui. The Neolithic cultural development was strongly impacted by the environmental change. The primitive culture (Shishanzi) was developed in the beginning of the Holocene Megathermal Period with distinct regional feature of the culture. From 6.5 kaBP to 5.5 kaBP, the climate changed warmer and wetter. The frequent occurrence of flood and waterlog due to such a climate regime and high sea level caused the earth’s surface environment deteriorated in the Huaihe River basin of Anhui and the interruption of the Neolithic cultural development, hence a lack of archaeological sites. From 5.5 kaBP to 4.0 kaBP, the climate changed from wet to dry, the natural environment was propitious to human survival. Dawenkou Culture and Longshan Culture flourished in this period. The Neolithic cultural development, the number of the sites and their distribution characteristics of the sites in the study area differed apparently from those in Central China and Shandong Province.  相似文献

The Khazar fault is an active thrust fault in the northern part of the Alborz Range, which is associated with folding (the Khazar anticline) in its hanging‐wall. Regional geological studies indicate activity of the fault in Cenozoic time, and active propagation of the fault‐related folding towards the west. The Neka river drainage basin, which is a longitudinal river flowing mostly in the backlimb of the Khazar anticline, shows evidence for active folding and faulting influencing drainage evolution. Observations are made in different parts of the Neka river course, according to which a new morphotectonic feature is introduced within the river basin, termed as ‘tilted reach’. This feature is considered as a result of river course tilting in the backlimb of the growing fold, diversion, and capture of the river by other rivers. Consecutive episodes of similar events would have resulted in the development of a long drainage basin parallel to the growing fold structure.  相似文献

Although fault growth is an important control on drainage development in modern rifts, such links are difficult to establish in ancient basins. To understand how the growth and interaction of normal fault segments controls stratigraphic patterns, we investigate the response of a coarse-grained delta system to evolution of a fault array in a Miocene half-graben basin, Suez rift. The early Miocene Alaqa delta complex comprises a vertically stacked set of footwall-sourced Gilbert deltas located in the immediate hangingwall of the rift border fault, adjacent to a major intrabasinal relay zone. Sedimentological and stratigraphic studies, in combination with structural analysis of the basin-bounding fault system, permit reconstruction of the architecture, dispersal patterns and evolution of proximal Gilbert delta systems in relation to the growth and interaction of normal fault segments. Structural geometries demonstrate that fault-related folds developed along the basin margin above upward and laterally propagating normal faults during the early stages of extension. Palaeocurrent data indicate that the delta complex formed a point-sourced depositional system developed at the intersection of two normal fault segments. Gilbert deltas prograded transverse into the basin and laterally parallel to faults. Development of the transverse delta complex is proposed to be a function of its location adjacent to an evolving zone of fault overlap, together with focusing of dispersal between adjacent fault segments growing towards each other. Growth strata onlap and converge onto the monoclinal fold limbs indicating that these structures formed evolving structural topography. During fold growth, Gilbert deltas prograded across the deforming fold surface, became progressively rotated and incorporated into fold limbs. Spatial variability of facies architecture is linked to along-strike variation in the style of fault/fold growth, and in particular variation in rates of crestal uplift and fold limb rotation. Our results clearly show that the growth and linkage of fault segments during fault array evolution has a fundamental control on patterns of sediment dispersal in rift basins.  相似文献

本文基于长江中游江汉—洞庭盆地18个钻孔岩性、沉积特征及年代数据,结合研究区考古遗址点时空分布特征,恢复研究区全新世以来水文环境演变过程,并探讨了区域水文环境演变的成因机制及其与人类活动的关系。结果表明,受东海海面上升和泥沙淤积等因素影响,距今11.5—5.5 ka,长江中游地区河湖水位呈上升趋势,随着新石器文化的发展及稻作农业活动的增加,人类文化聚落自山前平原地带逐渐向盆地平原中部扩展;距今5.5—4.0 ka,长江中游河湖水位有所下降,新石器晚期的屈家岭—石家河文化迅速发展,聚落数量增多,平原腹地聚落比例增加;距今4.0 ka前后,河湖水位再次有所上升,洪泛过程加剧,可能是石家河文化快速衰落的主要原因。  相似文献
