空间连续的气象要素是区域环境、生态系统模拟的重要参数,空间插值是实现气象观测站点数据空间化的主要方法。由于不同区域气候要素时空分布的复杂性,研究适用于特定区域的空间化方法具有重要意义。本文以湖南省为研究区,分析长江中游亚热带丘陵区气象要素的空间化方法。基于湖南省及其毗邻地区的46个气象站点14年(2000—2013年)的气象观测数据(月降水量、月均温)和DEM数据,对普通克里金法(OK)、反距离加权法(IDW)、样条法(SPLINE)和基于DEM的多元线性回归插值法(MLR)进行比较分析研究。研究结果表明:1)月降水量和月均温的MRE和RMISE值排序分别为:SPLINEIDWMLROK和SPLINOKIDWMLR;年平均降水量和年均温插值的MRE和RMISE值排序分别为:SPLINEIDWOKMLR和SPLINOKIDWMLR;2)MLR法不仅插值误差小,而且能从细节上反映出气象变化的空间变异性;3)对多变量进行数据探索分析表明,MLR插值法中,经度、坡度与年降水量空间分布存在空间的一致性;纬度、高程和坡度对年均温的空间分布具有很强的解释力。  相似文献

The Kodak DCS460c is a high resolution, colour digital camera with a specific CCD array mosaic structure that requires a dedicated processing algorithm for production of a three-band image. Kodak's Active Interpolation (KAI) algorithm is compared with a simpler nearest neighbour interpolation method (NNI) with regard to applicability in scientific investigations of target features in imagery. Detailed quantitative analyses of flat-field imagery were undertaken in order to provide insight into artefacts and to correct for the off nadir reduction in brightness. Characteristics of the aerial photography were also studied and aspects of processing and analysis of the imagery for scientific investigations are discussed. We present a novel method for correction of brightness fall-off (due to the vignette effects and increasing view angle) which is generally applicable to remote sensing of rural scenes. Quantitative spectral comparisons between related imagery from the DCS460c (e.g. for interpretation of relative vegetation cover) are only scientifically reliable when the raw (i.e. non-interpolated) DN values for green and red are below about 67% of their maximum range. This is due to preferential vertical leakage or charge diffusion in the CCD. A combination of CCD characteristics leads to possibly poor spatial resolution for the infrared band. The imagery after KAI shows good spatial resolution and has a natural looking colour reproduction useful for discerning features by eye. However, when using KAI, reliable spectral measurements can probably only be acquired from portions of objects that are at least four pixels from the object's boundary. In general, quantitative spatial and spectral analyses can be carried out with the DCS460c but the KAI, the broad band response and the vertical leakage require specific solutions to produce quantitative results.  相似文献

Abstract

A significant Geographic Information Science (GIS) issue is closely related to spatial autocorrelation, a burning question in the phase of information extraction from the statistical analysis of georeferenced data. At present, spatial autocorrelation presents two types of measures: continuous and discrete. Is it possible to use Moran's I and the Moran scatterplot with continuous data? Is it possible to use the same methodology with discrete data? A particular and cumbersome problem is the choice of the spatial-neighborhood matrix (W) for points data. This paper addresses these issues by introducing the concept of covariogram contiguity, where each weight is based on the variogram model for that particular dataset: (1) the variogram, whose range equals the distance with the highest Moran I value, defines the weights for points separated by less than the estimated range and (2) weights equal zero for points widely separated from the variogram range considered. After the W matrix is computed, the Moran location scatterplot is created in an iterative process. In accordance with various lag distances, Moran's I is presented as a good search factor for the optimal neighborhood area. Uncertainty/transition regions are also emphasized. At the same time, a new Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) tool is developed, the Moran variance scatterplot, since the conventional Moran scatterplot is not sensitive to neighbor variance. This computer-mapping framework allows the study of spatial patterns, outliers, changeover areas, and trends in an ESDA process. All these tools were implemented in a free web e-Learning program for quantitative geographers called SAKWeb© (or, in the near future, myGeooffice.org).  相似文献

Over the last three decades analytical cartography has grown from Tobler's concept of "solving cartographic problems" into a broader and deeper scientific specialization that includes the development and expansion of analytical/mathematical spatial theory and model building. In many instances Tobler himself has led the way to these new insights and developments. Fundamental concepts begin with Tobler's cartographic transformations; Nyerges' deep and surface structure and data levels; and Moellering's real and virtual maps; the sampling theorem; and concepts of spatial primitives and objects. This list can be expanded to include additional analytical concepts such as spatial frequencies, spatial surface neighborhood operators, information theory, fractals, Fourier theory, topological network theory, and analytical visualization, to name a few. This base of analytical theory can be employed to analyze and/or develop such things as spatial surfaces, terrain analysis, spatial data schemas, spatial data structures, spatial query languages, spatial overlay and partitioning, shape analysis, surface generalization, cartographic generalization, and analytical visualization. More analytical uses of theory, strategies of analysis, and implementations are being developed and continue to multiply as the field continues to grow and mature. A primary goal is to expand the mathematical/analytical theory of spatial data analysis, and theory building and analytical visualization as analytical cartography takes its place in the geographic information sciences. The research future for this area appears very bright indeed.  相似文献

The impact of fires on environment can have adverse effects. To fully understand the synoptic behaviour of fire events, information on the spatial distributions and their pattern are highly important. In this study, we used 9-year (1997–2005) integrated fire count datasets derived from Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR) satellite to geographically map the distribution of fire events in the Madhya Pradesh state, central India. We then used robust spatial metrics to test the spatial pattern of fire events against the hypothesis of complete spatial randomness (CSR). Specifically, we used the index of dispersion, Green's index, in addition to nearest neighbour statistic for testing CSR. Also, quantification of clustering is carried out using Ripley's K-function. To spatially map the fire events, we used Kernel density estimation that relies on bi-variate probability density functions. Results from using different spatial pattern metrics and nearest neighbour statistics suggested relatively high clustering of fire events in the study area. In addition, results from Ripley's K-function suggested the fire events to be clustered at a lag-distance of ~60 mile radius. By converting original fire ignition locations that are based on historical records to continuous density surfaces, the probability of fire events could be mapped effectively using kernel density estimation. As each fire event is the result of certain spatial process including biophysical and anthropogenic attributes, results from this study can provide useful information on fire management at a local district level. Also, the analysis presented in this study illustrates how spatial patterns in the point datasets can be quantified using different dispersion indices, clustering and density estimation techniques.  相似文献

The analysis of dynamic spatial systems requires an explicit spatio-temporal data model and spatio-temporal analysis tools. Event-based models have been developed to analyze discrete change in continuous and feature-based spatial data. In this paper, a spatio-temporal graph model is described that supports the analysis of continuous change in feature-based polygon spatial data. The spatio-temporal graph edges, called temporal links, track changes in polygon topology through space and time. The model also introduces the concept of a spatial-interaction region that extends a model's focus beyond short-term local events to encompass long-term regional events. The structure of the spatio-temporal graph is used to classify these events into five types of local polygon events and two types of spatial-interaction region events. To illustrate its utility, the model is applied to the ecological question of how patch size influences longevity in underwater plant communities in Chesapeake Bay, USA. Both a short-term local analysis and a longer-term regional analysis showed that patches of plants, or groups of patches, larger than one to two hectares in size were more likely to persist than smaller patches or groups of patches. Overall, the spatio-temporal graph model approach appears applicable to a variety of spatio-temporal questions.  相似文献

In this study, a theoretical model for studying the scaling effects on the two-band ratio of red to near-infrared band (TBRRN) is suggested. The model is used to explain the relationship between scaling error and local scale error; the results revealed that a special scale scaling procedure can be divided into a series smaller scale scaling procedures, and the total scaling error is the sum of the scaling error of these series’ smaller scale scaling procedure. Consequently, under the condition that the local scale is adequately fine, the total scale error at the target scale may be estimated accurately. In order to understand the mechanisms associated with scale in practical remote sensing, TBRRN data with 250 m and 1 km resolution is estimated from MODIS data at 645 and 859 nm, retrieved on September 1, 2009, in the Yellow River estuary, China. It is found that the TBRRN estimated from the 1 km resolution MODIS data is ~2.94 % smaller than as estimated from the 250 m MODIS data. The large scaling error distributes neither in the turbid waters, nor in the low suspended sediment regions, but instead in the high-low suspended sediment concentration transitional zone, which may be attributed to the spatial variable of suspended sediment in the transitional zone. This paper also points out that, owing to the importance of total scale error in achieving NASA’s mission in oceanic remote sensing, the way in which to conveniently and precisely estimate the total scale error of remote sensing parameters may potentially be an important topic in the field of oceanic remote sensing, both in present research and in the future.  相似文献

The integrated management of heterogeneous spatial data, such as continuous fields and discrete data, is an important issue for the Geographic Information (GI) community. Indeed, GI users are forced to navigate among and operate with several tools in order to solve their spatial problems, due to the lack of systems capable of integrating different components, each meant to provide a specific solution. The aim of this article is to propose an OpenGeospatial‐compliant solution which supports expert users in handling problems involving heterogeneous data by means of a seamless approach. A class hierarchy modeling spatial discrete objects, continuous data, relationships, and operations, is described, whereby data are organized in agreement with the binary representation. A running example is illustrated to support readers' understanding of the proposed solution. Finally, some guidelines about an implementation modality are given, to demonstrate the applicability of the proposal to an existing DBMS.  相似文献

Interpolation routines based on polynomials, splines, linear triangulation, proximation, distance weighting, and kriging are tested on their efficacy to visualize spatial patterns. Implementations in commonly available software packages are used in order to yield practical recommendations on the application of current information technology. Two data sets of physical variables containing irregularly distributed sample point values are used as input data. Accuracy of predicted values at unvisited points, preservation of distinct spatial patterns (established from map use tasks), and processing time, are used as criteria to determine the merits of the various interpolation methods. It was found that highly accurate interpolations do not always produce realistic spatial patterns. Effectiveness of distance weighting and kriging methods was found to be largely dependent on the number of neighbors used. For both gradually and abruptly changing data, geographic reality was visualized most satisfactorily with the squared inverse distance weighting (w=d-2 ) method using respectively few (four to eight) and many (16 to 24) neighbors.  相似文献

The existing crisis management research mostly reveals the patterns of the public's panic levels from the perspectives of public management, sociology, and psychology, only a few studies have revealed the spatiotemporal characteristics. Therefore, this study investigates the spatial distribution and temporal patterns and influencing factors on the general public's panic levels using the Baidu Index data from a geographic perspective. The results show that: (1) The public's panic levels were significantly correlated with the spatial distance between the epicenter and the region of investigation, and with the number of confirmed cases in different regions when the pandemic began to spread. (2) Based on the spatial distance between the epicenter and the region, the public's panic levels in different regions could be divided into three segments: core segment (0–500 km), buffer segment (500–1300 km), and peripheral segment (>1300 km). The panic levels of different people in the three segments were consistent with the Psychological Typhoon Eye Effect and the Ripple Effect can be detected in the buffer segment. (3) The public's panic levels were strongly correlated with whether the spread of the infectious disease crisis occurred and how long it lasted. It is suggested that crisis information management in the future needs to pay more attention to the spatial division of control measures. The type of crisis information released to the general public should depend on the spatial relationship associated with the place where the crisis breaks out.  相似文献

Low Altitude Aerial Photography (LAAP) is based on the use of small flying platforms to take photographs from very low altitudes. The acquisition of series of Digital Surface Models (DSMs) and orthoimages through photogrammetric and orthorectification processes is one of the main applications. The use of this technique in archaeological sites provides very precise and valuable data, but knowing the reliability of the method is a key to ensuring that the results are valid, since the repeatability of the method is fundamental to multitemporal studies. The present work shows an analysis of the similarity of DSMs obtained from different stereoscopic pairs from the same area. The reliability of the models has been assessed by calculating the Standard Deviation (STD) of the altitude values from the models, to obtain maps displaying the differences among them. Finally, the STD values' spatial distribution has been studied to assess if spatial autocorrelation exists by means of the Moran's Index and Anselin's Local Moran's Index. Results showed good similarity among the models and revealed clearly those areas where the model must be edited.  相似文献

Previously, we developed an integrated software package called ICAMS (Image Characterization and Modeling System) to provide specialized spatial analytical functions for interpreting remote sensing data. This paper evaluates three fractal dimension measurement methods that have been implemented in ICAMS: isarithm, variogram, and a modified version of triangular prism. To provide insights into how the fractal methods compare with conventional spatial techniques in measuring landscape complexity, the performance of two spatial autocorrelation methods, Moran's I and Geary's C, is also evaluated. Results from analyzing 25 simulated surfaces having known fractal dimensions show that both the isarithm and triangular prism methods can accurately measure a range of fractal surfaces. The triangular prism method is most accurate at estimating the fractal dimension of surfaces having higher spatial complexity, but it is sensitive to contrast stretching. The variogram method is a comparatively poor estimator for all surfaces, particularly those with high fractal dimensions. As with the fractal techniques, spatial autocorrelation techniques have been found to be useful for measuring complex images, but not images with low dimensionality. Fractal measurement methods, as well as spatial autocorrelation techniques, can be applied directly to unclassified images and could serve as a tool for change detection and data mining.  相似文献

This paper describes a procedure for extending local statistics to categorical spatial data. The approach is based on the notion that there are two fundamental characteristics of categorical spatial data; composition and configuration. Further, it is argued that, when considered locally, the latter should be measured conditionally with respect to the former. These ideas are developed for binary, gridded data. Local composition is measured by counting the numbers of cells of a particular type, while local configuration is measured by join counts. Andresen's spatial point pattern test (SPPT) compares two spatial point patterns on defined areal units; it identifies areas where the spatial point patterns diverge and aggregates these local (dis)similarities to one global measure. We discuss the limitations of the SPPT and provide two alternative methods to calculate differences in the point patterns. In the first approach we use differences in proportions tests corrected for multiple comparisons. We show how the size of differences matters, as with large point patterns many areas will be identified by SPPT as statistically different, even if those differences are substantively trivial. The second approach uses multinomial logistic regression, which can be extended to identify differences in proportions over continuous time. We demonstrate these methods by identifying areas where pedestrian stops by the New York City Police Department are different from violent crimes for 2006–2016.  相似文献

Abstract

Over the last three decades, the information revolution and technological advances have led to a paradigm shift in cartography. Recently, the major emphasis has been on 'democratization of cartography', where individuals can be empowered with electronic tools to analyse and visualize spatially referenced data (Morrison, 1994). But, an ordinary user can not effectively use the available GIS tools to visualize geographical data. Therefore, cartographers and/or GIS experts need to develop user-friendly map making systems to facilitate the democratization of cartography. A mapping system was designed using the advanced macro language (AML) and menus of ARC/INFO at the Curriculum for Evaluation and Management Centre (CEM) in Durham University to automate the mapping process (extending from spatial and non-spatial data extraction to the printing of a final map), so that any user can map pupils' locations of any school in the United Kingdom simply by entering some key information. The procedure followed to automate pupils' mapping is described in this paper. A similar programming approach can be helpful to automate mapping systems in a local network and on web.  相似文献

Spatial autocorrelation analysis was used to identify spatial patterns of 1991 Gulf War (GW) troop locations in relationship to subsequent postwar diagnosis of chronic multisymptom illness (CMI). Criteria for the diagnosis of CMI include reporting from at least two of three symptom clusters: fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, and mood and cognition. A GIS‐based methodology was used to examine associations between potential hazardous exposures or deployment situations and postwar health outcomes using troop location data as a surrogate. GW veterans from the Devens Cohort Study were queried about specific symptoms approximately four years after the 1991 deployment to the Persian Gulf. Global and local statistics were calculated using the Moran's I and G statistics for six selected date periods chosen a priori to mark important GW‐service events or exposure scenarios among 173 members of the cohort. Global Moran's I statistics did not detect global spatial patterns at any of the six specified data periods, thus, indicating there is no significant spatial autocorrelation of locations over the entire Gulf region for veterans meeting criteria for severe postwar CMI. However, when applying local G* and local Moran's I statistics, significant spatial clusters (primarily in the coastal Dammam/Dharhan and the central inland areas of Saudi Arabia) were identified for several of the selected time periods. Further study using GIS techniques, coupled with epidemiological methods, to examine spatial and temporal patterns with larger sample sizes of GW veterans is warranted to ascertain if the observed spatial patterns can be confirmed.  相似文献
