A simple but sufficiently accurate method for calculating an accretion disk structure is developed. The detailed analysis of the accretion disk is fulfilled by using this method. The effect of turbulent heat transfer on the disk structure is taken into account along with the effect of radiative transfer. The turbulent heat transfer is shown to play an important role, and may be even predominant in the inner disk region. The dependence of temperatureT and density on thez-coordinate is found. Simple analytic expressions are proposed for the run of the density in all the disk zones. It is shown that the inner disk region is convectively stable. The main parameters of all the zones are derived. The geometry of regular motions is studied; the regular hydrodynamical flows are found to appear directed both toward and outside the central object. A detailed comparison is made with the results of other authors.  相似文献

The spiral arms of disk galaxies are very sensitive to various morphological properties, such as, the gas content, the disk-to-bulge ratioetc. Here, the stability of self-gravitating annular disks surrounding the central rigid bulge component has been studied in order to explain the transition from the tight spiral arms in Sa galaxies to rather open patterns in Sc galaxies as the central amorphous component diminishes. Smooth spiral patterns are found associated with the dominant (or the fastest growing) modes of the system. When the disk-to-bulge mass ratio is small, a tight pattern results restricted to the inner regions of the disk. This pattern opens up and occupies larger disk areas as the disk component becomes comparable to the bulge. It is found here that the ‘explosive’ instabilities of the global density waves do not occur in the presence of a massive bulge. The growth-rates of the eigen-modes decrease as the disk-to-bulge mass ratio decreases. It is also found that unstable modes of the annular disk can be suppressed by increasing the thermal pressure sufficiently.  相似文献

We carry out 2.5D MHD simulations to study the interaction between a dipolar magnetic field of a T Tauri Star, a circumstellar accretion disk, and the halo above the disk. The initial disk is the result of 1D radiation hydrodynamics computations with opacities appropriate for low temperatures. The gas is assumed resistive, and inside the disk accretion is driven by a Shakura–Sunyaev-type eddy viscosity. Magnetocentrifugal forces due to the rotational shear between the star and the Keplerian disk cause the magnetic field to be stretched outwards and part of the field lines are opened. For a solar-mass central star and an accretion rate of 10?8 solar masses per year a field strength of 100 G (measured on the surface of the star) launches a substantial outflow from the inner parts of the disk. For a field strength of 1 kG the inner parts of disk is disrupted. The truncation of the disk turns out to be temporary, but the magnetic field structure remains changed after the disk is rebuilt.  相似文献

Axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations have been made of the formation of jets from a Keplerian disk threaded by a magnetic field. The disk is treated as a boundary condition, where matter with high specific entropy is ejected with a Keplerian azimuthal speed and a poloidal speed less than the slow magnetosonic velocity, and where boundary conditions on the magnetic fields correspond to a highly conducting disk. Initially, the space above the disk, the corona, is filled with high specific entropy plasma in the thermal equilibrium in the gravitational field of the central object. The initial magnetic field is poloidal and is represented by the superposition of the fields of monopoles located below the plane of the disk. The rotation of the disk twists the initial poloidal magnetic field lines, and this twist propagates into the corona pushing matter into jet-like outflow in a cylindrical region. After the first switch-on wave, which originates during the first rotation period of the inner radius of the disk, the matter outflowing from the disk starts to flow and accelerate in thez-direction owing to both the magnetic and pressure gradient forces. The flow accelerates through the slow magnetosonic and Alfvén surfaces and at larger distances through the fast magnetosonic surface. The flow velocity of the jet is approximately parallel to thez-axis, with the collimation mainly a result of the pinching force of the toroidal magnetic field. The energy flux of the flow increases with increasing magnetic field strength on the disk. Some of the cases studied have been run for long times, 60 rotation periods of the inner radius of the disk, and show indications of approaching a stationary state.  相似文献

We discuss the star-disk electric circuit for a young stellar object (YSO) and calculate the expected torques on the star and the disk. We obtain the same disk magnetic field and star-disk torques as given by standard magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) analysis. We show how a short circuit in the star-disk electric circuit may produce a magnetically-driven jet flow from the inner edge of a disk surrounding a young star. An unsteady bipolar jet flow is produced that flows perpendicular to the disk plane. Jet speeds of order hundreds of kilometers per second are possible, while the outflow mass loss rate is proportional to the mass accretion rate and is a function of the disk inner radius relative to the disk co-rotation radius.  相似文献

At present, it is widely believed that anomalous X-ray pulsars (AXPs), soft gamma-ray repeaters (SGRs), rotational radio transients (RRATs), compact central objects (CCOs) in supernova remnants, and X-ray dim isolated neutron stars (XDINSs) belong to different classes of anomalous objects in which the central bodies are isolated neutron stars. Previously, we have shown that AXPs and SGRs can be described in terms of the drift model for parameters of the central neutron star typical of radio pulsars (rotation periods P ~ 0.1–1 s and surface magnetic fields B ~ 1011–1013 G). Here, we show that some of the peculiarities of the sources under consideration can be explained by their geometry (in particular, by the angle β between the rotation axis and the magnetic moment). If β ? 10° (an aligned rotator), the drift waves in the outer layers of the neutron star magnetosphere can account for the observed periodicity in the radiation. For large β (a nearly orthogonal rotator), the observed modulation of the radiation and its short bursts can be explained by mass accretion from the ambient medium (e.g., a relic disk).  相似文献

Significant (marginal) detections of periodic signals have been recently reported in 3 (4) Active Galactic Nuclei. Three of the detections were obtained from long EUVE light curves of moderate-luminosity Seyfert galaxies; the fourth was discovered in Chandra data from the low-luminosity Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 4395. When compared with Cyg X-1, I find that the period is related to the luminosity as PL2/3 rather than the expected one-to-one relationship. This result might be explained if the QPO is associated with the inner edge of the optically thick accretion disk, and the inner-edge radius depends on the source luminosity (or black hole mass). A discussion of uncertainties in the period detection methodology is also discussed.  相似文献

The inner regions of the circumstellar disk around Pictoris might be dust-free due to a possible planet which may have cleared up dust particles. We present a new observational technique based on the use of an anti-blooming CCD in order to directly image this zone. The structure of the disk is revealed down to 2 arcsec from the star (30 AU). We show that the Pic disk brightness is neutral inV, R, andI C , but drops down when going inward inB, possibly related to a change in the dust composition. Also, a slight disk asymmetry is present but inverted from the outer to the inner zones.Paper presented at the Conference onPlanetary Systems: Formation, Evolution, and Detection held 7–10 December, 1992 at CalTech, Pasadena, California, U.S.A.  相似文献

The stability of a self‐gravitating infinitesimally thin gaseous disk rotating around a central mass is studied. Our global linear analysis concerns marginal stability, i.e. it yields the critical temperature for the onset of instability for any given ratio of the disk mass to the central mass. Both axisymmetric and low‐m nonaxisymmetric excitations are analysed. When the fractional disk mass increases, the symmetry character of the instability changes from rings (m = 0) to one‐armed trailing spirals (m = 1). The distribution of the surface density along the spiral arms is not uniform, but describes a sequence of maxima that might be identified with forming planets. The number of the mass concentrations decreases with increasing fractional disk mass. We also obtain solutions in the form of global nonaxisymmetric vortices, which are, however, never excited.  相似文献

We present the results of our studies of the aperiodic optical flux variability for SS Cyg, an accreting binary systemwith a white dwarf. The main set of observational data presented here was obtained with the ANDOR/iXon DU-888 photometer mounted on the RTT-150 telescope, which allowed a record (for CCD photometers) time resolution up to 8 ms to be achieved. The power spectra of the source’s flux variability have revealed that the aperiodic variability contains information about the inner boundary of the optically thick flow in the binary system. We show that the inner boundary of the optically thick accretion disk comes close to the white dwarf surface at the maximum of the source’s bolometric light curve, i.e., at the peak of the instantaneous accretion rate onto the white dwarf, while the optically thick accretion disk is truncated at distances 8.5 × 109 cm ∼10R WD in the low state. We suggest that the location of the inner boundary of the accretion disk in the binary can be traced by studying the parameters of the power spectra for accreting white dwarfs. In particular, this allows the mass of the accreting object to be estimated.  相似文献

We outline some main results from recent analytical modelling of axisymmetric jets from the coronae of young stars and compare them to disk-wind and X-wind models. We emphazise the roles of the magnetic rotator and the disk in the formation and the evolution of the jet. We conjecture that with time both the efficiency of the magnetic rotator and the role of the disk as a primary source for the wind decline.  相似文献

We explain in simple terms why a rotating and magnetized outflow forms a core with a jet and show numerical simulations which substantiate this argument. The outflow from a solar-type inefficient magnetic rotator is found to be very weakly collimated while the outflow from a ten times faster rotating YSO is shown to produce a tightly collimated jet. This gives rise to an evolutionary scenario for stellar outflows. We also propose a two-component model consisting of a wind outflow from a central object and a faster rotating outflow launched from a surrounding accretion disk which plays the role of the flow collimator.  相似文献

The tidal force effects of a spherical galaxy passing head-on through a disk galaxy have been studied at various regions of the disk galaxy and for various orientations of the disk galaxy with respect to the direction of relative motion of the two galaxies. The density distribution of the disk galaxy is taken to be, (r)=ce–4r/R , where c is the central density andR is the radius of the disk. The density distribution of the spherical galaxy is taken to be that of a oolytrope of indexn=4. It is found that as a result of the collision, through the central parts and the outer parts of the disk galaxy remain intact, the region in between these two regions disrupts. Thus a ring galaxy with a nucleus embedded in the ring-i.e., a ring galaxy of the RN-type, is formed.  相似文献

Using the GADGET-2 code modified by us, we have computed hydrodynamic models of a protoplanetary disk perturbed by a low-mass companion. We have considered the cases of circular and eccentric orbits coplanar with the disk and inclined relative to its midplane. During our simulations we computed the column density of test particles on the line of sight between the central star and observer. On this basis we computed the column density of circumstellar dust by assuming the dust and gas to be well mixed with a mass ratio of 1: 100. To study the influence of the disk orientation relative to the observer on the interstellar extinction, we performed our computations for four inclinations of the line of sight to the disk plane and eight azimuthal directions. The column densities in the circumstellar disk of the central star and the circumbinary disk were computed separately. Our computations have shown that periodic column density oscillations can arise in both inner and circumbinary disks. The amplitude and shape of these oscillations depend on the system’s parameters (the orbital eccentricity and inclination, the component mass ratio) and its orientation in space. The results of our simulations can be used to explain the cyclic brightness variations of young UX Ori stars.  相似文献

A detailed theory of high-entropy supermassive oblique rotator is developed on the basis of the results of our previous work on the structure and evolution of supermassive rotating magnetic polytropes. Particular attention is paid to the problem of transformation of rotational energy into observable radiation. It is shown that a rather long duration of the quasi-stationary phase in combination with a considerably high value of magnetic dipole radiationL md in comparison with that of thermal radiationL th imposes substantial limitations on the character of the model. This combination is realized in the model of an oblique rotator with a rigid rotation and a poloidal magnetic field. Moreover, the magnetic energy must be comparable, in order of magnitude, with the module of the gravitational energy. The magnitude of the torque acting on the rotator by means of the magnetic field is influenced neither by the external plasma thrown out by the low-frequency radiation pressure, nor by the plasma ejected electrostatically, nor by that flowing out due to rotational instability. For definiteness we assume below that the rotational energy is lost by the rotator in the form of a low-frequency magnetic dipole radiation though many of the conclusions drawn in this paper are also valid for the case when the energy is liberated in some other forms (for example, in magnetohydrodynamic waves).Plasma outflow under rotational instability is considered in detail. This is a pulsating outflow. Near the light cylinder the plasma spreads out and begins to interact intensively with the magnetic dipole radiation. As a result, the particles are accelerated up to relativistic energies. Accelerated electrons radiate by synchrotron mechanism with the radiation maximum in the far infra-red region (Figure 4). Compton scattering of this radiation is in the X-ray and gamma regions. The character of the non-thermal radiation calculated accounts for the essential features of the observable radiation from quasars and active galactic nuclei.A secular variation of the magnetic dipole radiation in the course of evolution of a supermassive oblique rotator (Figure 1) with the account taken of the influence of magnetic dipole losses on the value of the angle between magnetic and rotational axes is discussed in the vacuum approximation substantiated in Section 3. For a wide interval of initial values of this angle the non-thermal (synchrotron and Compton) radiation increases in the course of a quasi-static contraction of the rotator, reaches its maximum at whichL nthL th, and then decreases considerably due to rapprochement of the magnetic and rotational axes. Such a behaviour ofL nth corresponds to the expected secular change of the activity of galactic and quasar nuclei as a certain flaring up, reaching the maximum of their activity and subsequent dying out. Some essential properties of quasars and quasar-like phenomena in galactic and quasar nuclei are explained on the basis of the theory presented. As an illustration, the parameters of a supermassive rotator modelling the source of activity in quasar 3C 273 are calculated (Table I). The estimate of the frequency of occurrence of rotators withL nth>L th andL nthL th is in a reasonable correspondence with the statistics of active phenomena in the nuclei of galaxies of different morphological types.Observational tests for this theory are suggested. The most important one called upon to ascertain the presence in the nuclei of galaxies and quasars of a supermassive body as a source of their activity is the variability of infra-red radiation near its spectral maximum.Similarity and difference between a supermassive oblique rotator and a pulsar, the model of a quasar nucleus as a cluster of pulsars, an axysymmetric rotator and a low-entropy configuration (disk) as stages of the evolution of an oblique rotator as well as the problems of its genesis and fate are discussed at the end of the paper (Section 9). The main results of the paper are listed in Section 10.  相似文献

We present results from a recent broad‐band monitoring in optics of the Seyfert 1 type galaxy Mrk 279. We build and analyse the BV RI light curve covering a period of seven years (1995–2002). We also show some evidence for the existence of two different states in brightness and suggest, based on a modelling of the optical continuum, that these states may result from transition between a thin disk and an ADAF accretion modes. We assume that the short‐term variability is due to a reprocessing of a variable X‐ray emission from an inner ADAF part of the flow, while the long‐term one may be a result from a change of the transition radius. Our tests show a good match with the observations for a reasonable set of accretion parameters, close to the expected ones for Mrk 279. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

We present an edge-on Keplerian disk model to explain the main component of the 12.2 and 6.7 GHz methanol maser emission detected toward NGC7538-IRS1N. The brightness distribution and spectrum of the line of bright masers are successfully modeled with high amplification of background radio continuum emission along velocity coherent paths through a maser disk. The bend seen in the position–velocity diagram is a characteristic signature of differentially rotating disks. For a central mass of 30M, suggested by other observations, our model fixes the masing disk to have inner and outer radii of 270 and 750 AU.  相似文献

We have performed N-body simulations on the stage of protoplanet formation from planetesimals, taking into account so-called “type-I migration,” and damping of orbital eccentricities and inclinations, as a result of tidal interaction with a gas disk without gap formation. One of the most serious problems in formation of terrestrial planets and jovian planet cores is that the migration time scale predicted by the linear theory is shorter than the disk lifetime (106-107 years). In this paper, we investigate retardation of type-I migration of a protoplanet due to a torque from a planetesimal disk in which a gap is opened up by the protoplanet, and torques from other protoplanets which are formed in inner and outer regions. In the first series of runs, we carried out N-body simulations of the planetesimal disk, which ranges from 0.9 to 1.1 AU, with a protoplanet seed in order to clarify how much retardation can be induced by the planetesimal disk and how long such retardation can last. We simulated six cases with different migration speeds. We found that in all of our simulations, a clear gap is not maintained for more than 105 years in the planetesimal disk. For very fast migration, a gap cannot be created in the planetesimal disk. For migration slower than some critical speed, a gap does form. However, because of the growth of the surrounding planetesimals, gravitational perturbation of the planetesimals eventually becomes so strong that the planetesimals diffuse into the vicinity of the protoplanets, resulting in destruction of the gap. After the gap is destroyed, close encounters with the planetesimals rather accelerate the protoplanet migration. In this way, the migration cannot be retarded by the torque from the planetesimal disk, regardless of the migration speed. In the second series of runs, we simulated accretion of planetesimals in wide range of semimajor axis, 0.5 to 2-5 AU, starting with equal mass planetesimals without a protoplanet seed. Since formation of comparable-mass multiple protoplanets (“oligarchic growth”) is expected, the interactions with other protoplanets have a potential to alter the migration speed. However, inner protoplanets migrate before outer ones are formed, so that the migration and the accretion process of a runaway protoplanet are not affected by the other protoplanets placed inner and outer regions of its orbit. From the results of these two series of simulations, we conclude that the existence of planetesimals and multiple protoplanets do not affect type-I migration and therefore the migration shall proceed as the linear theory has suggested.  相似文献

We have calculated the spectrum of Cyg X-1 under the assumption that the radiation orginates in a disk around a 11M black-hole. Supersonic turbulence prevails in the outer parts of the disk and electron-electron bremsstrahlung appears to be resonsible for the maintenance of the temperature at a level less than 1010 K near the inner edge of the disk. The theoretical spectrum gives the best fit with the observations if the Reynolds number is about 1200.  相似文献

We have calculated the relativistic reflection component of the X-ray spectra of accretion disks in active galactic nuclei (AGN). Our calculations have shown that the spectra can be significantly modified by the motion of the accretion flow, and the gravity and rotation of the central black hole. The absorption edges in the spectra suffer severe en- ergy shifts and smearing, and the degree of distortion depends on the system parameters, in particular, the inner radius of the accretion disk and the disk viewing inclination angles. The effects are significant. Fluorescent X-ray emission lines from the inner accretion disk could be a powerful diagnostic of space-time distortion and dynamical relativistic effects near the event horizons of accreting black holes. However, improper treatment of the re- flection component in fitting the X-ray continuum could give rise to spurious line-like features. These features mimic the true fluorescent emission lines and may mask their relativistic signatures. Fully relativistic models for reflection continua together with the emission lines are needed in order to extract black-hole parameters from the AGN X-ray spectra.  相似文献
