The Pulkovo Compilation of Radial Velocities (PCRV) has been made to study the stellar kinematics in the local spiral arm. The PCRV contains weighted mean absolute radial velocities for 35 495 Hipparcos stars of various spectral types and luminosity classes over the entire celestial sphere mainly within 500 pc of the Sun. The median accuracy of the radial velocities obtained is 0.7 km s?1. Results from 203 publications were used in the catalogue. Four of them were used to improve the radial velocities of standard stars from the IAU list. The radial velocities of 155 standard stars turned out to be constant within 0.3 km s?1. These stars were used to analyze 47 768 mean radial velocities for 37 200 stars from 12 major publications (~80% of all the data used). Zero-point discrepancies and systematic dependences on radial velocity, B-V color index, right ascension, and declination were found in radial velocity differences of the form “publication minus IAU list of standards.” These discrepancies and dependences were approximated and taken into account when calculating the weighted mean radial velocities. 1128 stars whose independent radial-velocity determinations were available at least in three of these publications and agreed within 3 km s?1 were chosen as the work list of secondary standards. Radial-velocity differences of the form “publication minus list of secondary standards” were used by analogy to correct the zero points and systematic dependences in the radial velocities from 33 more publications (~ 13% of the data used). In addition, the radial velocities from 154 minor publications (~7% of the data used) pertaining to well-known instruments were used without any corrections.  相似文献

We consider two samples of OB stars with different distance scales that we have studied previously. The first and second samples consist of massive spectroscopic binaries with photometric distances and distances determined from interstellar calcium lines, respectively. The OB stars are located at heliocentric distances up to 7 kpc. We have identified them with the Gaia DR1 catalogue. Using the proper motions taken from the Gaia DR1 catalogue is shown to reduce the random errors in the Galactic rotation parameters compared to the previously known results. By analyzing the proper motions and parallaxes of 208 OB stars from the Gaia DR1 catalogue with a relative parallax error of less than 200%, we have found the following kinematic parameters: (U, V) = (8.67, 6.63)± (0.88, 0.98) km s?1, Ω0 = 27.35 ± 0.77 km s?1 kpc?1, Ω′0 = ?4.13 ± 0.13 km s?1 kpc?2, and Ω″0 = 0.672 ± 0.070 km s?1 kpc?3, the Oort constants are A = ?16.53 ± 0.52 km s?1 kpc?1 and B = 10.82 ± 0.93 km s?1 kpc?1, and the linear circular rotation velocity of the local standard of rest around the Galactic rotation axis is V 0 = 219 ± 8 km s?1 for the adopted R 0 = 8.0 ± 0.2 kpc. Based on the same stars, we have derived the rotation parameters only from their line-of-sight velocities. By comparing the estimated values of Ω′0, we have found the distance scale factor for the Gaia DR1 catalogue to be close to unity: 0.96. Based on 238 OB stars of the combined sample with photometric distances for the stars of the first sample and distances in the calcium distance scale for the stars of the second sample, line-of-sight velocities, and proper motions from the Gaia DR1 catalogue, we have found the following kinematic parameters: (U, V, W) = (8.19, 9.28, 8.79)± (0.74, 0.92, 0.74) km s?1, Ω0 = 31.53 ± 0.54 km s?1 kpc?1, Ω′0 = ?4.44 ± 0.12 km s?1 kpc?2, and Ω″0 = 0.706 ± 0.100 km s?1 kpc?3; here, A = ?17.77 ± 0.46 km s?1 kpc?1, B = 13.76 ± 0.71 km s?1 kpc?1, and V 0 = 252 ± 8 km s?1.  相似文献

We have studied the simultaneous and separate solutions of the basic kinematic equations obtained using the stellar velocities calculated on the basis of data from the Gaia TGAS and RAVE5 catalogues. By comparing the values of Ω'0 found by separately analyzing only the line-of-sight velocities of stars and only their proper motions, we have determined the distance scale correction factor p to be close to unity, 0.97 ± 0.04. Based on the proper motions of stars from the Gaia TGAS catalogue with relative trigonometric parallax errors less than 10% (they are at a mean distance of 226 pc), we have found the components of the group velocity vector for the sample stars relative to the Sun (U, V,W) = (9.28, 20.35, 7.36) ± (0.05, 0.07, 0.05) km s?1, the angular velocity of Galactic rotation Ω0 = 27.24 ± 0.30 km s?1 kpc?1, and its first derivative Ω'0 = ?3.77 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?2; here, the circular rotation velocity of the Sun around the Galactic center is V0 = 218 ± 6 km s?1 kpc (for the adopted distance R0 = 8.0 ± 0.2 kpc), while the Oort constants are A = 15.07 ± 0.25 km s?1 kpc?1 and B = ?12.17 ± 0.39 km s?1 kpc?1, p = 0.98 ± 0.08. The kinematics of Gaia TGAS stars with parallax errors more than 10% has been studied by invoking the distances from a paper by Astraatmadja and Bailer-Jones that were corrected for the Lutz–Kelker bias. We show that the second derivative of the angular velocity of Galactic rotation Ω'0 = 0.864 ± 0.021 km s?1 kpc?3 is well determined from stars at a mean distance of 537 pc. On the whole, we have found that the distances of stars from the Gaia TGAS catalogue calculated using their trigonometric parallaxes do not require any additional correction factor.  相似文献

Based on the stellar proper motions of the TGAS (Gaia DR1) catalogue, we have analyzed the velocity field of main-sequence stars and red giants from the TGAS catalogue with heliocentric distances up to 1.5 kpc. We have obtained four variants of kinematic parameters corresponding to different methods of calculating the distances from the parallaxes of stars measured with large relative errors. We have established that within the Ogorodnikov–Milne model changing the variant of distances affects significantly only the solar velocity components relative to the chosen centroid of stars, provided that the solution is obtained in narrow ranges of distances (0.1 kpc). The estimates of all the remaining kinematic parameters change little. This allows the Oort coefficients and related Galactic rotation parameters as well as all the remaining Ogorodnikov–Milne model parameters (except for the solar terms) to be reliably estimated irrespective of the parallax measurement accuracy. The main results obtained from main-sequence stars in the range of distances from 0.1 to 1.5 kpc are: A = 16.29 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, B = ?11.90 ± 0.05 km s?1 kpc?1, C = ?2.99 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, K = ?4.04 ± 0.16 km s?1 kpc?1, and the Galactic rotation period P = 217.41 ± 0.60 Myr. The analogous results obtained from red giants in the range from 0.2 to 1.6 kpc are: the Oort constants A = 13.32 ± 0.09 km s?1 kpc?1, B = ?12.71 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, C = ?2.04 ± 0.08 km s?1 kpc?1, K = ?2.72 ± 0.19 km s?1 kpc?1, and the Galactic rotation period P = 236.03 ± 0.98 Myr. The Galactic rotation velocity gradient along the radius vector (the slope of the Galactic rotation curve) is ?4.32 ± 0.08 km s?1 kpc?1 for main-sequence stars and ?0.61 ± 0.11 km s?1 kpc?1 for red giants. This suggests that the Galactic rotation velocity determined from main-sequence stars decreases with increasing distance from the Galactic center faster than it does for red giants.  相似文献

We consider stars with radial velocities, proper motions, and distance estimates from the RAVE4 catalogue. Based on a sample of more than 145 000 stars at distances r < 0.5 kpc, we have found the following kinematic parameters: \({\left( {U,{\kern 1pt} V,{\kern 1pt} W} \right)_ \odot }\) = (9.12, 20.80, 7.66) ± (0.10, 0.10, 0.08) km s?1, Ω0 = 28.71 ± 0.63 km s?1 kpc?1, and Ω0 = ?4.28 ± 0.11 km s?1 kpc?2. This gives the linear rotation velocity V 0 = 230 ± 12 km s?1 (for the adopted R 0 = 8.0 ± 0.4 kpc) and the Oort constants A = 17.12 ± 0.45 km s?1 kpc?1 and B = ?11.60 ± 0.77 km s?1 kpc?1. The 2D velocity distributions in the UV, UW, and VW planes have been constructed using a local sample, r < 0.25 kpc, consisting of ~47 000 stars. A difference of the UV velocity distribution from the previously known ones constructed from a smaller amount of data has been revealed. It lies in the fact that our distribution has an extremely enhanced branch near the Wolf 630 peak. A previously unknown peak at (U, V) = (?96, ?10) km s?1 and a separate new feature in the Wolf 630 stream, with the coordinates of its center being (U, V) = (30, ?40) km s?1, have been detected.  相似文献

A sample of classical Cepheids with known distances and line-of-sight velocities has been supplemented with proper motions from the Gaia DR1 catalogue. Based on the velocities of 260 stars, we have found the components of the peculiar solar velocity vector (U, V, W) = (7.90, 11.73, 7.39) ± (0.65, 0.77, 0.62) km s?1 and the following parameters of the Galactic rotation curve: Ω0 = 28.84 ± 0.33 km s?1 kpc?1, Ω′0 = ?4.05 ± 0.10 km s?1 kpc?2, and Ω″0 = 0.805 ± 0.067 km s?1 kpc?3 for the adopted solar Galactocentric distance R 0 = 8 kpc; the linear rotation velocity of the local standard of rest is V 0 = 231 ± 6 km s?1.  相似文献

We have selected and analyzed a sample of OB stars with known line-of-sight velocities determined through ground-based observations and with trigonometric parallaxes and propermotions from the Gaia DR2 catalogue. Some of the stars in our sample have distance estimates made from calcium lines. A direct comparison with the trigonometric distance scale has shown that the calcium distance scale should be reduced by 13%. The following parameters of the Galactic rotation curve have been determined from 495 OB stars with relative parallax errors less than 30%: (U, V,W) = (8.16, 11.19, 8.55)± (0.48, 0.56, 0.48) km s?1, Ω0 = 28.92 ± 0.39 km s?1 kpc?1, Ω'0 = ?4.087 ± 0.083 km s?1 kpc?2, and Ω″ 0 = 0.703 ± 0.067 km s?1 kpc?3, where the circular velocity of the local standard of rest is V0 = 231 ± 5 km s?1 (for the adopted R0 = 8.0 ± 0.15 kpc). The parameters of the Galactic spiral density wave have been found from the series of radial, VR, residual tangential, ΔVcirc, and vertical, W, velocities of OB stars by applying a periodogram analysis. The amplitudes of the radial, tangential, and vertical velocity perturbations are fR = 7.1± 0.3 km s?1, fθ = 6.5 ± 0.4 km s?1, and fW = 4.8± 0.8 km s?1, respectively; the perturbation wavelengths are λR = 3.3 ± 0.1 kpc, λθ = 2.3 ± 0.2 kpc, and λW = 2.6 ± 0.5 kpc; and the Sun’s radial phase in the spiral density wave is (χ)R = ?135? ± 5?, (χ)θ = ?123? ± 8?, and (χ)W = ?132? ± 21? for the adopted four-armed spiral pattern.  相似文献

We analyze our monitoring data for the water-vapor maser in the source W31(2), associated with a region of vigorous star formation, a cluster of OB stars. The monitoring was performed with the 22-m radio telescope at Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory during 1981–2004. The variability of the H2O maser in W31(2) was found to be cyclic, with a mean period of 1.9 yr. Two flares were most intense (superflares): in 1985–1986 and 1998–1999. In each activity cycle, we observed up to several short flares, subpeaks. The fluxes of many emission features during the flares were correlated. We also observed successive activation of individual emission features in order of increasing or decreasing radial velocity, suggesting an ordered structure and, hence, a radial-velocity gradient of the medium. There is a clear correlation of the emission peaks of the main components in the spectra at radial velocities of ?1.7, ?1.3, 0.5, and 1.3 km s?1 with activity cycles and of the emission at VLSR < ?8 km s?1 with short flares. During the superflares, the emission in the low-velocity part of the H2O spectrum and a number of other phenomena related to coherent maser-emission properties were suppressed. The maser spots are assumed to form a compact structure, to have a common pumping source, and to be associated with an accretion flow onto the cluster of OB stars.  相似文献

Based on the Ogorodnikov-Milne model, we analyze the proper motions of Tycho-2 and UCAC2 stars. We have established that the model component that describes the rotation of all stars under consideration around the Galactic y axis differs significantly from zero at various magnitudes. We interpret this rotation found using the most distant stars as a residual rotation of the ICRS/Tycho-2 system relative to the inertial reference frame. For the most distant (d≈900 pc) Tycho-2 and UCAC2 stars, the mean rotation around the Galactic y axis has been found to be M 13 ? =?0.37±0.04 mas yr?1. The proper motions of UCAC2 stars with magnitudes in the range 12–15m are shown to be distorted appreciably by the magnitude equation in μα cos δ, which has the strongest effect for northern-sky stars with a coefficient of ?0.60±0.05 mas yr?1 mag?1. We have detected no significant effect of the magnitude equation in the proper motions of UCAC2 stars brighter than ≈11m.  相似文献

The structure of the A1035 cluster of galaxies (10h32m + 40°13′, cz ~ 22000 kms?1), which exhibits a bimodal distribution of galaxy radial velocities (ΔV ≈ 3000 kms?1), is analyzed using three methods of determining the relative distances to clusters from early-type galaxies: the Kormendy relation corrected for the dependence of residuals on galaxy magnitude, the photometric plane, and the fundamental plane. We use the data obtained with the l-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences and SDSS (DR5) data to show that A1035 consists of two gravitationally unbound independent clusters. These clusters with the velocity dispersions of 566 km s?1 and 610 km s?1 and masses within R 200 equal to 2.7 · 1014 and 3.5 · 1014 M , respectively, obey the Hubble law.  相似文献

Using a method of population synthesis, we investigate the runaway stars produced by disrupted binaries via asymmetric core collapse supernova explosions (CC-RASs) and thermonuclear supernova explosions (TN-RASs). We find the velocities of CC-RASs in the range of about 30–100 km s ?1. The runaway stars observed in the galaxy are possibly CC-RASs. Due to differences in stellar chemical components and structures, TN-RASs are divided into hydrogen-rich TN-RASs and helium-rich TN-RASs. The velocities of the former are about 100–500 km s ?1, while the velocities of the latter are mainly between 600 and 1100 km s ?1. The hypervelocity stars observed in the galaxy may originate from thermonuclear supernova explosions. Our results possibly cover the US 708 which is a compact helium star and travels with a velocity of 1157 ±53 km s?1 in our galaxy.  相似文献

Based on a sample of RR Lyrae variable stars including more than 9000 objects with proper motions and distances, we have investigated the kinematics of the Galactic halo from the two-dimensional velocity field. We have used both the proper motions deduced independently by us from the positional data taken from all-sky catalogues in a time interval up to 65 years and the proper motions taken from the Gaia DR2 catalogue. In addition, we have also studied the halo kinematics from the three-dimensional velocity field of ~850 RR Lyrae variables with distances, proper motions, and line-of-sight velocities. The kinematic parameters describing the velocity field have been estimated by the maximum-likelihood method; their change with Galactocentric distance has been investigated. The radial velocity dispersion in spherical coordinates σr ≈ 160?170 km s?1 exceeds its values from previous papers approximately by 20 km s?1, while the anisotropy parameter β ≈ 0.68?0.72 agrees satisfactorily with previous studies. When estimating the rotation velocity of the population of RR Lyrae stars, we identified the inner and outer halos with weak prograde and retrograde rotations, respectively.  相似文献

We present the results of our study of the H2O maser emission from the source W75N, which is associated with a star-forming region, between November 1994 and March 1999. The observations were carried out with the RT-22 radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Lebedev Physical Institute). The maser emission in 1994–1999 can be represented as a superposition of flares of separate components with a duration from two to six months, which occurred mainly in the radial-velocity range 8–17.5 km s?1. We detected a regular drift of the velocity centroid from 13 to 9 km s?1 and an abrupt change in its velocity from 9 to 5 km s?1, which took place at the initial stage of maser activity. Based on the variability of the total H2O flux in all years of our observations of W75N (from December 1979 through March 1999), we conclude that the long-period variability of the water-vapor maser emission has a period of ~11.5 years. We give arguments that this variability is mainly associated with the most compact group of maser spots, whose positions coincide with the position of the continuum source VLA 2.  相似文献

Two CCD spectra of the star BM Ori were obtained with the echelle spectrograph of the 6-m telescope. In one of the spectra, a large proportion of lines are distorted by emission. The emission component is blueshifted by 50 km s?1, suggesting hot-gas outflow from the atmosphere. The equivalent-width ratio of measured lines in the spectra outside and during eclipse is consistent with the assumption that ~2/3 of the primary star’s area is obscured during eclipse, as follows from light curves. Measured line equivalent widths were used to estimate atmospheric parameters of the secondary star, T eff=7300 K, log g=5.2, and microturbulence ξt=6 km s?1, and to determine its chemical composition. The C, Na, Al, Si, S, Ca, Fe, Ni, and Zn abundances are solar, within the error limits. Li, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, and Y are overabundant, while Mg, Cu, and Ba are underabundant. In general, the secondary is similar in chemical composition to the star V 1016 Ori. Based on the secondary’s mass determined by solving the radial-velocity curve and on log g estimated spectroscopically from iron ionization equilibrium, we calculated its photospheric radius, R 2 = 0.5R . However, the spectroscopic log g=5.2 disagrees with log g=3.5 calculated from the luminosity and effective temperature and with log g=3.0 calculated from light and radial-velocity curves. If the secondary’s photospheric radius is indeed small; this argues for the hypothesis that the eclipsing body is a dust envelope. The radial velocities measured from the two spectra are systematically higher than those calculated from the radial-velocity curve by +34 and +24 km s?1. It is likely that the secondary’s atmosphere occasionally shrinks.  相似文献

We consider the problem of the distortion of the photospheric spectrum for a young star as its light is scattered in the inner accretion disk in the dust grain evaporation region. In T Tauri stars, this region is at a distance of the order of several stellar radii and is involved in the large-scale motions of matter with velocities of ~100 km s?1 or higher. The light scattering in such a medium causes the frequency of the scattered radiation to be shifted due to the Doppler effect. We analyze the influence of this effect on the absorption line profiles in the spectra of T Tauri stars using classical results of the theory of radiative transfer. We consider two models of a scattering medium: (i) a homogeneous cylindrical surface and (ii) a cylindrical surface with an azimuth-dependent height (such conditions take place during the accretion of matter onto a star with an oblique magnetic dipole). We show that in the first case, the scattering of the photospheric radiation causes the absorption lines to broaden. If the motion of the circumstellar matter in the dust evaporation region is characterized by two velocity components, then the line profile of the scattered radiation is asymmetric, with the pattern of the asymmetry depending on the direction of the radial velocity. In the second case, the scattered radiation can cause periodic shifts of the absorption line centroid, which can be perceived by an observer as periodic radial-velocity variations in the star. We suggest that precisely this effect is responsible for the low-amplitude radial-velocity variations with periods close to the stellar rotation periods that have recently been found in some of the T Tauri stars.  相似文献

Based on the Ogorodnikov-Milne model, we analyze the proper motions of 95 633 red giant clump (RGC) stars from the Tycho-2 Catalogue. The following Oort constants have been found: A = 15.9 ± 0.2 km s?1 kpc?1 and B = ?12.0±0.2 km s?1 kpc?1. Using 3632 RGC stars with known proper motions, radial velocities, and photometric distances, we show that, apart from the star centroid velocity components relative to the Sun, only the model parameters that describe the stellar motions in the XY plane differ significantly from zero. We have studied the contraction (a negative K effect) of the system of RGC stars as a function of their heliocentric distance and elevation above the Galactic plane. For a sample of distant (500–1000 pc) RGC stars located near the Galactic plane (|z| < 200 pc) with an average distance of d = 0.7 kpc, the contraction velocity is shown to be Kd = ?3.5 ±0.9 km s?1; a noticeable vertex deviation, l xy = 9 · o 1 ± 0 · o 5, is also observed for them. For stars located well above the Galactic plane (|z| ≥200 pc), these effects are less pronounced, Kd = ?1.7 ± 0.5 km s?1 and l xy = 4 · o 9 ± 0 · o 6. Using RGC stars, we have found a rotation around the Galactic X axis directed toward the Galactic center with an angular velocity of ?2.5 ± 0.3 km s?1 kpc?1, which we associate with the warp of the Galactic stellar-gaseous disk.  相似文献

A system for obtaining high-precision radial velocities of solar-type stars by spectral cross-correlation has been established at the Mt John University Observatory. The use of a fibre-feed between the telescope and échelle spectrograph has enabled a stability such that we can achieve a precision of better than 50 m s–1.A programme of radial-velocity observations of 29 southern solar-type stars—of which two are IAU radial velocity standard stars—is under way with the prime objective being a search for low-mass companions to the stars. Ten further IAU radial-velocity standard stars are also being monitored.  相似文献

We have analyzed the space velocities of stars with the proper motions and trigonometric parallaxes from the Gaia TGAS catalogue in combination with the line-of-sight velocities from the RAVE5 catalogue. In the V, \(\sqrt {{U^2} + 2{V^2}} \) velocity plane we have identified three clumps, BB17-1, BB17-2, and BB17-3, in the region of large velocities (V<?150 km s?1). The stars of the BB17-1 and BB17-2 clumps are associated with the kinematic groups VelHel-6 and VelHel-7 detected previously by Helmi et al. We give the greatest attention to the BB17-3 clump. The latter is shown to be most closely linked with the debris of the globular cluster ω Cen. In the BB17-3 clump we have identified 28 stars with a low velocity dispersion with respect to the center of their distribution. All these stars have very close individual age estimates: log t ≈ 10. The distribution of metallicity indices in this sample is typical for the stars of the globular cluster ω Cen. In our opinion, the BB17-3 clump can be described as a homogeneous stream in the debris of the cluster ω Cen.  相似文献

We measured the radial velocity of the star θ1 Ori D from IUE spectra and used published observations. Based on these data, we determined the period of its radial-velocity variations, P=20.2675±0.0010 days, constructed the phase radial-velocity curve, and solved it by least squares. The spectroscopic orbital elements were found to be the following: the epoch of periastron passage Ep=JD 2430826.6±0.1, the system's center-of-mass velocity /Gg=32.4±1.0 km s?1, K=14.3±1.5 km s?1, Ω=3.3±0.1 rad, e=0.68±0.09, a1 sin i = 3 × 1010 km, and f1 = 0.0025M. Twice the period, P=40.528±0.002 days, is also consistent with the observations.  相似文献

We have searched for the stars that either encountered in the past or will encounter in the future with the Solar system closer than 2 pc. For this purpose, we took more than 216 000 stars with the measured proper motions and trigonometric parallaxes from the Gaia DR1 catalogue and their radial velocities from the RAVE5 catalogue. We have found several stars for which encounters closer than 1 pc are possible. The star GJ 710, for which the minimum distance is d m = 0.063 ± 0.044 pc at time t m = 1385 ± 52 thousand years, is the record-holder among them. Two more stars, TYC 8088-631-1 and TYC 6528-980-1, whose encounter parameters, however, are estimated with large errors, are of interest.  相似文献
