Crystalline and melt inclusions were studied in garnet,diopside,potassium feldspar,and sphene from the garnet syenite porphyry of the carbonatite-bearing complex Mushugai-Khuduk,southern Mongolia.Phlogopite,clinopyroxene,albite,potassium feldspar,spheric,wollastonite,magnetite,Ca and Sr sulfates,fluorite,and apatite were identified among the crystalline inclusions. The melt inclusions were homogenized at 1010~1080℃and analyzed on an electron microprobe.Silicate,salt,and combined silicate- salt melt inclusions were found.Silicate melts show considerable variations in SiO_2 concentration(56 to 66wt% ),high Na_2O K_2O (up to 17wt% ),and elevated Zr,F,and C1 contents.In terms of bulk rock chemistry,the silicate melts are alkali syenites.During thermometric experiments,salt melt inclusions quenched into homogeneous glasses of predominantly sulfate compositions containing no more than 1.3wt% SiO_2.These melts are enriched in alkalis,Ba,Sr,P,F,and C1.The investigation of the silicate and salt melt inclusions in minerals of the garnet syenite porphyries indicate that these rocks were formed under influence of the processes of crystallization differentiation and magma separation into immiscible silicate and salt(sulfate)liquids.  相似文献

The one-dimensional thermodynamic model of evolution of hummock formation described. The relative speeds of freezing and melting of a hummock were calculated in the framework of the suggested model. Comparisons of model results with the analogous characteristics of flat sea ice were carried out. It is found that the results obtained agree well with data of field investigations in the Barents Sea.  相似文献

以西太平洋海山的麦哲伦海山群和马尔库斯-威克海山群为例,研究了富钴铁锰结壳(富钴结壳)形成过程中地质要素和海洋要素的作用,重点分析了海山漂移和沉降、水道开合、最小含氧带(OMZ)、大洋环流,以及气候变化等要素对富钴结壳形成的控制作用。基于对麦哲伦海山和马尔库斯-威克海山结壳样品剖面Mn/Fe值曲线的综合研究,结合控矿要素和成矿背景分析,将该区白垩纪以来富钴结壳的成矿过程划分为五个阶段:(1)自垩纪-始新世,(2)始新世末-晚渐新期,(3)晚渐新期-中中新期早期,(4)中中新期早期晚中新期早期,(5)晚中新期早期-现代,其中(2)、(3)阶段有利于发育富钴结壳。  相似文献

Three Cobalt-Rich Seamount Crust Reference Materials: GSMC-1 to 3   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A research project involving the preparation of three Co-rich crust reference materials (GSMC-1 to 3) has been preliminarily completed. The samples were collected from the eastern and central Pacific seamount zones and their main chemical composition is MnO2. After the raw materials were dried in ambient air and at low temperature (60-100 C), they were ground in a ball mill to form a well-mixed powder. The proportion of particle size fractions of < 74 μm and < 3 μm was over 98% and 50% respectively. The homogeneity of the materials was tested using wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WD-XRF). The relative standard deviation (% RSD) of the measurements for all the selected elements in forty sub-samples randomly taken from the bottles was less than 0.4%. Sixteen laboratories from Germany, Russia, France, Australia and China participated in the collaborative analysis programme. Fifty seven elements or constituents were analysed, and among those, forty six elements were certified in each sample. The sum of contents of the major and minor elements or components was 99.5% for GSMC-1, 99.6% for GSMC-2 and 99.2% for GSMC-3.  相似文献

Holocene Treeline History and Climate Change Across Northern Eurasia   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Radiocarbon-dated macrofossils are used to document Holocene treeline history across northern Russia (including Siberia). Boreal forest development in this region commenced by 10,000 yr B.P. Over most of Russia, forest advanced to or near the current arctic coastline between 9000 and 7000 yr B.P. and retreated to its present position by between 4000 and 3000 yr B.P. Forest establishment and retreat was roughly synchronous across most of northern Russia. Treeline advance on the Kola Peninsula, however, appears to have occurred later than in other regions. During the period of maximum forest extension, the mean July temperatures along the northern coastline of Russia may have been 2.5° to 7.0°C warmer than modern. The development of forest and expansion of treeline likely reflects a number of complimentary environmental conditions, including heightened summer insolation, the demise of Eurasian ice sheets, reduced sea-ice cover, greater continentality with eustatically lower sea level, and extreme Arctic penetration of warm North Atlantic waters. The late Holocene retreat of Eurasian treeline coincides with declining summer insolation, cooling arctic waters, and neoglaciation.  相似文献

Vegetation changes reflected in fossil pollen spectra are a primary source of information about climate fluctuations in the past. A statistical-information (transfer function) method based on the correlation of recent pollen spectra with modern climate conditions has been used to reconstruct Holocene climatic changes from fossil pollen. Climatic variables used for the reconstructions are the mean annual, January, July temperatures and annual precipitation. Peat sections with pollen and 14C data from the Arctic Russia were used for the reconstructions. The reconstructed climate fluctuations are similar to the climate changes obtained from many sites in the former USSR. A clear signal for Younger Dryas cooling, 11,000-10,000 yr BP and early Preboreal warming is apparent. The early Preboreal (10,000-9000 yr BP) was the warmest time for sites from modern coastal and island areas. The warm interval occurred in the Boreal period, about 8500 yr BP. According to the reconstructions the warmest time for non-coastal areas was the last half of Atlantic period, 6000-4500 yr BP. Other warm intervals were reconstructed about 3500 and 1000 yr BP. Reconstructions show that warming periods are primarily defined as times of increased summer temperatures, and cooling periods as time of decreased winter temperatures. The precipitation followed the temperatures: during the warming periods precipitation increased and during the cooling periods it decreased. Precipitation maximum, about 100 mm higher than present, are reconstructed for the warmest interval, 6000-4500 yr BP at all sites.  相似文献

During CREAMS expeditions, fCO2 for surface waters was measured continuously along the cruise tracks. The fCO2 in surface waters in summer varied in the range 320–440 μatm, showing moderate supersaturation with respect to atmospheric CO2. In winter, however, fCO2 showed under-saturation of CO2 in most of the area, while varying in a much wider range from 180 to 520 μatm. Some very high fCO2 values observed in the northern East Sea (Japan Sea) appeared to be associated with the intensive convection system developed in the area. A gas-exchange model was developed for describing the annual variation of fCO2 and for estimating the annual flux of CO2 at the air-sea interface. The model incorporated annual variations in SST, the thickness of the mixed layer, gas exchange associated with wind velocity, biological activity and atmospheric concentration of CO2. The model shows that the East Sea releases CO2 into the atmosphere from June to September, and absorbs CO2 during the rest of the year, from October through May. The net annual CO2 flux at the air-sea interface was estimated to be 0.032 (±0.012) Gt-C per year from the atmosphere into the East Sea. Water column chemistry shows penetration of CO2 into the whole water column, supporting a short turnover time for deep waters in the East Sea. Lake El'gygytgyn, located in central Chukotka, Russian Arctic, was the subject of an international drilling project that resulted in the recovery of the longest continuous palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental record for the terrestrial Arctic covering the last 3.6 million years. Here, we present the reconstruction of the lake‐level fluctuations of Lake El'gygytgyn since Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 7 based on lithological and palynological as well as chronological studies of shallow‐water sediment cores and subaerial lake terraces. Reconstructed lake levels show an abrupt rise during glacial–interglacial terminations (MIS 6/5 and MIS 2/1) and during the MIS 4/3 stadial–interstadial transition. The most prominent lowstands occurred during glacial periods associated with a permanent lake‐ice cover (namely MIS 6, MIS 4 and MIS 2). Major triggering mechanisms of the lake‐level fluctuations at Lake El'gygytgyn are predominantly changes in air temperature and precipitation. Regional summer temperatures control the volume of meltwater supply as well as the duration of the lake‐ice cover (permanent or seasonal). The duration of the lake‐ice cover, in turn, enables or hampers near‐shore sediment transport, thus leading to long‐term lake‐level oscillations on glacial–interglacial time scales by blocking or opening the lake outflow, respectively. During periods of seasonal ice cover the lake level was additionally influenced by changes in precipitation. The discovered mechanism of climatologically driven level fluctuations of Lake El'gygytgyn are probably valid for large hydrologically open lakes in the Arctic in general, thus helping to understand arctic palaeohydrology and providing missing information for climate modelling.  相似文献

The interannual variations of the sea level at the coastal stations of the Sea of Japan and of the water discharge through the Korea (Tsushima) Strait are studied. It is demonstrated that the interannual variations of the water discharge through this strait are determined by the water discharge of the Oyashio (in the subarctic Pacific) and the Kuroshio (in the East China Sea) currents and by the zonal wind stress component over the Sea of Japan in winter period. It is revealed that the variations in the East China Sea water transport through the Korea (Tsushima) Strait cause the interannual variations of the dissolved oxygen content in intermediate (500 m) and deep (1000 m and more, σθ = 27.35) waters of the Sea of Japan.  相似文献
