Measurements of sap flow, meteorological parameters, soil water content and tension were made for 4 months in a young cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) plantation during the 2002 rainy season in Ejura, Ghana. This experiment was part of a sustainable water management project in West Africa. The Granier system was used to measure half‐hourly whole‐tree sap flow. Weather variables were observed with an automatic weather station, whereas soil moisture and tension were measured with a Delta‐T profile probe and tensiometers respectively. Clearness index (CI), a measure of the sky condition, was significantly correlated with tree transpiration (r2 = 0·73) and potential evaporation (r2 = 0·86). Both diurnal and daily stomata conductance were poorly correlated with the climatic variables. Estimated daily canopy conductance gc ranged from 4·0 to 21·2 mm s−1, with a mean value of 8·0 ± 3·3 mm s−1. Water flux variation was related to a range of environmental variables: soil water content, air temperature, solar radiation, relative humidity and vapour pressure deficit. Linear and non‐linear regression models, as well as a modified Priestley–Taylor formula, were fitted with transpiration, and the well‐correlated variables, using half‐hourly measurements. Measured and predicted transpiration using these regression models were in good agreement, with r2 ranging from 0·71 to 0·84. The computed measure of accuracy δ indicated that a non‐linear model is better than its corresponding linear one. Summary The Gruvåsen sulphide skarns in Western Bergslagen are hosted by a sequence of marbles and metacherts, intruded by a number of thin mafic sills and dykes of midProterozoic age. The sulphide skarns show a zonal distribution with Cu-Zn-Fesulphide-rich pyroxene skarns (± scheelite, molybdenite, cassiterite, bismuth) in the central, and Zn-Fe-Pb-As-sulphide-rich amphibole skarns in the peripheral zones of mineralization. The sulphide skarns in the central zone are closely related to a phase of local potassic alteration that affected the marbles, cherts and mafic intrusions. 34S values of sulphides range between + 0.5 and + 1.3% for the central zone, and between-1.4 and + 1.5% for the peripheral zone. Sulphide-pair sulphur isotope geothermometry (Ohmoto and Rye, 1979) yields temperatures around 555°C corresponding with the temperature of 550–600°C estimated from silicate and sulphide parageneses. Although the Gruvâsen deposit is situated close to the Filipstad-type granitic intrusion, this granite is unlikely to have a genetic relationship with the sulphide mineralization, because the sulphide skarns were deformed at about 1,860 Ma, whereas the postkinematic Filipstad-type granite is dated at +- 1,640Ma (Oen, 1982). Hydrothermal fluids at estimated temperatures around 550°C, presumably heated by the coeval solidifying mafic sills and dykes, are considered responsible for the dissolution and transport of sulphur from the mafic rocks, and of metals from both mafic and felsic rocks underlying the Gruvåsen marbles, and for the redeposition of metals and sulphur in the Gruvåsen sulphide skarn deposit.

Zusammenfassung Die sulfidischen Skarne von Gruvåsen, West-Bergslagen, sitzen in Mergeln and Metaquarziten auf, die von zahlreichen mitelproterozoischen, geringmächtigen mafischen Sills und Gängen durchdrungen werden. Die Sulfid-Skarne sind zoniert. Im zentralen Bereich der Mineralisation treten Cu-Zn-Fe-sulfidreiche Pyroxen-Skarne auf (+- Scheelit, Molybdenit, Cassiterit, Wismuth), während die Randzonen vorwiegend aus Zn-Fe-Pb-As-sulfidreichen Amphibol-Skarnen bestehen. Die zentralen Skarnanteile zeigen engen Zusammenhang mit einer lokalen K-Alteration der Mergel, Metaquarzite und mafischen Intrusionen. In der zentralen Zone liegen die 34 S-Werte der Sulfide zwischen + 0.5 und + 1.3%, in der Randzone zwischen - 1.43 und + 1.5%. SchwefelisotopenGeothermometrie von Sulfidpaaren (Ohmoto & Rye, 1979) ergaben Temperaturen um 550°C. Diese stimmen mit den Temperaturen aus den Silikat- und Sulfidparagenesen von 550–600°C gut überein. Obwohl die Gruvåsen Lagerstätte nahe der FilipstadTyp Granitintrusion liegt, erscheint eine genetische Verbindung mit der Sulfidmineralisation unwahrscheinlich, da die Sulfid-Skarne ein Deformationsalter von 1860 Mio zeigen, während der postkinematische Filipstad-Typ Granit auf +- 1640 mio datiert ist (Oen, 19982). Es wird vermutet, daß hydrothermale Lösungen, die durch die erstarrenden mafischen Sills und Gänge auf etwa 550°C aufgeheizt worden sind, für die Vererzung verantwortlich sind. Der Schwefel kann aus den mafischen Gesteinen bezogen werden, die Metalle aus mafischen und felsischen Gesteinen, die die Gruvåsen Mergel unterlagern. Hydrothermale Aktivität verursachte Lösung, Transport und Umlagerung des Schwefels und der Metalle in die Gruväsen Sulfid-Skarn Lagerstätte.

Clinoamphibole from a mylonitic amphibolite exhibits microstructures characteristic of dynamic recrystallization, including porphyroclasts in a finer grained matrix of needle-shaped amphibole. The matrix amphibole defines an LS fabric and porphyroclasts have core and mantle structures with a core containing undulose to patchy extinction and (100) deformation twinning surrounded by a mantle of recrystallized grains. In addition intragranular grains also occur within the cores. TEM analyses of the porphyroclasts reveal that they contain a wide variety of lattice defects including high densities (5 × 108cm–2) of free dislocations and dislocation arrays, dissociated dislocations, stacking faults, and (100) micro-twins. TEM also shows that matrix grains and intragranular grains have relatively low defect densities, and that the intragranular new grains occur at localities in the porphyroclasts characterized by high densities of dislocations. These observations along with the chemical and orientation relationships between the recrystallized grains and porphyroclasts indicate that the new grains may have formed by heterogeneous nucleation and that further growth probably occurred by both strain assisted and chemically induced grain boundary migration or liquid film migration. This recrystallization event is interpreted to be synkinematic based on the fact that no recrystallization textures are present in the matrix grains and that the matrix grains define an LS fabric. However, the low defect densities in the matrix grains and the lack of intracrystalline strain in other phases indicate that post-kinematic recovery processes were active.  相似文献

The Callovian to Ryazanian (late Middle Jurassic to earliest Cretaceous; here referred to as »Late Jurassic«) sediments of the Dutch Central North Sea Graben, comprising the Central Graben and Scruff Groups, form several potential reservoirs. Source rocks are present within both these groups and the Carboniferous and Late Triassic-Early Jurassic.The structural development of the area is illustrated by a number of cross-sections. A structural subdivision has been made into platform, intermediate platform, outer graben, and inner graben. The complex history of rifting, wrench-faulting, halokinesis, and structural inversion strongly influenced the palaeogeography and ensuing sandstone developments. A few selected burial-history plots are presented as examples of the relationship between the structural subdivision and the hydrocarbon potential of the area.
Zusammenfassung Die Sedimente des Callov bis zum Ryazan (oberer Mitteljura bis unterste Kreide, hier als »Oberjura« bezeichnet) des zentralen niederländischen Nordsee-Grabens, der den Zentralgraben und die Scruff-Gruppe umfaßt, stellen mehrere potentielle Erdölspeichergesteine dar. In jeder dieser beiden Gruppen sowie im Karbon und von der Obertrias bis zur Unterkreide existieren Speichergesteine.Die strukturelle Entwicklung des Gebietes wird anhand mehrere Profile veranschaulicht. Außerdem schien eine Untergliederuntg in Plattform, Zwischenplattform, äußerer sowie innerer Graben sinnvoll. Die komplexe Entwicklungsgeschichte, die durch Riftingphasen, Wrench-Tektonik, Halokinese und Strukturinversion bestimmt wurde, hat die Paläogeographie und die resultierende Sandsteinbildung intensiv beeinflußt. Eine Anzahl ausgewählter Darstellungen der Geschichte der Sedimentüberlagerung dienen als Beispiele für den Zusammenhang zwischen den strukturell bestimmten Untergruppen und dem Kohlenwasserstoffpotential des Untersuchungsgebietes.

Résumé Dans le secteur néerlandais du Graben Central de la Mer du Nord, plusieurs réservoirs potentiels sont constitués par les sédiments calloviens à ryazaniens (ensemble allant du sommet du Jurassique moyen au Crétacé inférieur et désigné ici par «Late Jurassic»). Ces sédiments comprennent le groupe du Graben central et le groupe de Scruff. Des rochesmères existent dans chacun de ces deux groupes ainsi que dans le Carbonifère et dans la série Trias terminal-Eojurassique.La constitution structurale de cette région est illustrée par une série de coupes. On distingue, au point de vue structural: une plate-forme, une plate-forme intermédiaire, un graben externe et un graben interne. L'histoire géologique complexe, avec ses processus de rifting, de décrochement, d'halokinèse et d'inversion structurale, s'est répercutèe de manière significative sur la paléogéographie et, par voie de conséquence, sur l'extension des faciès arénacés. Quelques reconstitutions de l'histoire sédimentaire sont présentées à titre d'exemple de manière à illustrer la relation entre les unités structurales et le potentiel en hydrocarbure de la région.

The stress and strain-rate fields in a glacier or other type of rock with known rheological properties can be calculated by using a numerical solution technique. Calculations are based on force-balance equations and the constitutive relation for polar ice, and do not involve any mathematical approximations. The geometry is prescribed. Plastic particles were found to be common pollutants in stomachs of Wilson's Storm Petrels and Cape Petrels breeding on the Antarctic continent. Highest incidence of plastics was found in chicks of Wilson's Storm Petrels that had died before fledging. Few or no plastics were found in Snow Petrels and Antarctic Petrels. Evidence suggests that most plastics originate from wintering areas outside the Antarctic, and that relatively few plastics are available in Antarctic waters. Possible hazards of plastic levels observed in Wilson's Storm Petrels are discussed.  相似文献

The distribution of electric charge on the marine aerosol was determined near the sea surface of the Indian Ocean and the North Atlantic during the final stage of the Snellius II-expedition. Mean values for small ion concentrationsn +=455 cm–3 andn =340 cm–3 were found over the Atlantic, whilen +=310 andn =250 cm–3 were the mean values over the Indian Ocean. The ration +/n increased from 1.2 to 2.0 with decreasing wind velocity. At wind velocities below 5 m/s 75% of the net space charge near the ocean surface was found to be carried by small ions.  相似文献

This paper discusses the usage of mathematical morphology in image processing of remotely-sensed data for geologic interpretation. Particular attention is given to noise-reducing transformations of spectral bands before and after different methods of classification, and to the usage of textural context. The development of a viable processing strategy requires a multidisciplinary approach and expert knowledge in different areas: (a) geology, geomorphology, and vegetation in a study area, (b) properties of the sensor for imagery photointerpretation, (c) spectral/spatial properties of the digital data within an integrated dataset (remote sensing and ancillary data), and (d) data-processing tools including mathematical morphology theory. Examples of geometric characterization of Canadian LANDSAT scenes are described in which shape measurements are obtained using a PC-based hybrid image-processing and geographic information system, termed ILWIS, which was developed at ITC, in the Netherlands. Classes from supervised and unsupervised classification are compared to guide in geological mapping. Classes over individual occurrences of broad vegetation-landform units are studied to aid in environmental mapping. Field knowledge is the context necessary to construct expert procedures to drive sequences of data-processing steps toward a target result such as optimal classification, enhancement, or feature extraction. The interaction between expert rules and the image-processing steps can be based on synthetic measurements of shape to quantize the information either spatially or spectrally. Many useful geometrical transformations of spatially-distributed data are extensions or generalizations of spatial analysis functions typical of geographic information systems.  相似文献
