Über die Intensität der Temperatur-, Salzgehalts- und Dichteschichtung in der Deutschen Bucht

Zusammenfassung Als Ergänzung zu den Sprungschichtuntersuchungen in der Nord- und Ostsee von G. Dietrich wird in der vorliegenden Bearbeitung der jahreszeitliche Gang und die regionale Verbreitung der thermohalinen Schichtung in der Deutschen Bucht verfolgt. An Hand der hydrographischen Beobachtungen der deutschen und dänischen Nordseefeuerschiffe und der Helgoländer Terminstationen wird der Jahresgang der Temperatur- und Salzgehaltsunterschiede zwischen Oberflächen- und Bodenwasser dargestellt. Als Beispiel der horizontalen Verteilung der maximalen Temperatur-, Salzgehalts- und Dichteschichtung im Frühjahr werden die auf der Poseidon-Fahrt im Mai 1933 gewonnenen hydrographischen Beobachtungen benutzt. Diese Unterlagen im Zusammenhang mit den während der Poseidon-Fahrten der Jahre 1920/36 gesammelten Erfahrungen sind am besten dafür geeignet, die Ausbildung und Tiefenlage der thermohalinen Sprungschicht in ihrem jahreszeitlichen Verlauf an Hand von ostwestlich und nordsüdlich angelegten hydrographischen Schnitten in der Deutschen Bucht zu untersuchen. Als Beispiel hierfür wird die Darstellung der Tiefenlage der thermohalinen Sprungschicht innerhalb der vertikalen Dichteverteilung im Mai 1933 gebracht.

On the intensity of stratification in temperature, salinity and density in the German Bight

Summary Supplementary to G. Dietrich's investigations of the discontinuity layers in the North Sea and in the Baltic Sea the author treats the seasonal variations and the regional distribution of stratification in temperature and salinity in the German Bight. From hydrographic observations by German and Danish light vessels in the North Sea and from observations made at fixed hours by stations around the Isle of Heligoland the annual variations of differences in temperature and salinity in surface- and bottom water are calculated. The hydrographic observations obtained during the Poseidon cruise in May, 1933 illustrate the horizontal distribution of maximum stratification of temperature, salinity and density in spring time. These data combined with the experiences from the 1920/1936 Poseidon cruises are particularly suitable for studies to be made to show the evolution and the position of the thermohaline discontinuity layer during the seasonal cycle with the aid of observations made along east-west and north-south sections across the German Bight. The position of the thermohaline discontinuity layer in May 1933 within the vertical density distribution represented in this paper may serve as an example for the phenomenae described above.

Sur l'intensité de la stratification en température, en salinité et en densité dans la Deutsche Bucht (zone de la mer du Nord limitrophe des côtes allemandes)

Résumé Supplémentaire aux recherches des couches de discontinuité en mer du Nord et en mer Baltique effectuées par G. Dietrich, l'auteur étudie dans ce travail les variations saisonnières et la répartition régionale de la stratification en température et en salinité comme elles se présentent dans la Deutsche Bucht. A l'aide des observations hydrographiques faites à bord des bateaux-feu allemands et danois en mer du Nord et au moyen des observations effectuées à des beures fixes par les stations autours de l'île de Helgoland on calcule les variations annuelles des différences de la température et de la salinité entre des eaux superficielles et des eaux du fond de la mer. Les observations hydrographiques obtenues au cours de la croisière du bateau Poseidon en mai 1933 servent d'exemple pour illustrer la répartition horizontale de la stratification maximale au printemps, soit en température, soit en salinité ou soit en densité. Ces données ainsi que les expériences faites au cours des diverses croisières du Poseidon pendant les années de 1920 à 1936 sont les plus convenables lorsqu'on veut étudier, à laide des observations de série effectuées le long des sections verticales de l'ouest à l'est et du nord au sud dans la Deutsche Bucht, l'évolution de la couche thermohaline de discontinuité et sa position en profondeur au cours du cycle saisonnier. La représentation de la position en profondeur de la couche thermohaline de discontinuité comme elle se présente dans la distribution verticale de la densité en mai 1933 sert d'exemple de ces phénomènes.

Aus dieser stammt ein Teil der Leihgaben. Stable isotope and trace element status of subsistence-hunted bowhead and beluga whales in Alaska and gray whales in Chukotka

Tissues of bowhead, beluga, and gray whales were analyzed for Ag, Cd, Cu, Se, Zn, THg and MeHg (belugas only). Delta15N and delta13C in muscle were used to estimate trophic position and feeding habitat, respectively. Trace element concentrations in tissues were significantly different among whale species. Hepatic Ag was higher in belugas than bowheads and gray whales. Gray whales had lower Cd concentrations in liver and kidney than bowhead and belugas and a sigmoid correlation of Cd with length was noted for all whales. Renal and hepatic Se and THg were higher in belugas than in baleen whales. The hepatic molar ratio of Se:THg exceeded 1:1 in all species and was negatively correlated to body length. Hepatic and renal Zn in subsistence-harvested gray whales was lower than concentrations for stranded whales. Se:THg molar ratios and tissue concentrations of Zn may show promise as potential indicators of immune status and animal health.  相似文献   

Spektrographische Untersuchungen des magnetischen Sterns α2CVn

The main purpose of this paper was the examination of the Cassegrain-spectrograph of the 2-m-universaltelescope at Tautenburg for investigations of magnetic stars. Therefore from 26 spectrograms of the well known magnetically variable star α²CVn taken with a reciprocal linear dispersion of 10 Å/mm variations of radial velocity and magnetic field strength for some lines of Eu II, Cr II, Si II, Mg II were determined. The results agree well with those of Babcock [5] and Struve and Swings [2], derived from spectrograms of higher dispersion. The large variation in the radial velocity of Eu II and Cr II is confirmed. In the oblique rotator model this requires a very strong concentration of Eu II at the poles and of Cr II at the equator.  相似文献
