Starting from the Hamiltonian model for a solid Earth with an elastic mantle previously developped by the authors, analytical expressions are derived which give the nutation series corresponding to the plane perpendicular to the angular momentum vector, to the plane perpendicular to the rotational axis and to the equator of figure, as well as the series that give the polar motion. The effects of the different perturbations — solid Earth, centrifugal and tidal potentials — are calculated separately. The corrections due to the elasticity of the mantle, which mostly correspond to the Oppolzer terms, are calculated with an accuracy of 10–6 arc sec., given that the intrinsic observational accuracy has reached 0.01 mas.  相似文献

Colour–magnitude diagrams (CMDs) are presented for the first time for 10 star clusters projected on to the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). The photometry was carried out in the Washington system C and T 1 filters allowing the determination of ages by means of the magnitude difference between the red giant clump and the main-sequence turnoff (MSTO), and metallicities from the red giant branch (RGB) locus. The clusters all have ages in the range 1.5–4 Gyr and metallicities between  −1.3 < [Fe/H] < −0.6  , with respective errors of ∼0.5 Gyr and 0.3 dex. This increases substantially the sample of intermediate-age clusters in the SMC with well-derived parameters. We combine our results with those for other clusters in the literature to derive as large and homogeneous a data base as possible (totalling 26 clusters) in order to study global effects. We find evidence for two peaks in the age distribution of SMC clusters, at ∼6.5 and 2.5 Gyr, in good agreement with previous hints involving smaller samples. The most recent peak occurs at a time that corresponds to a very close encounter between the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and the SMC according to the recent dynamical models of Bekki et al. that they used to explain the enhancement of LMC clusters with this age. It appears cluster formation may have been similarly stimulated in the SMC by this encounter as well. We also find very good agreement between cluster ages and metallicities and the prediction from a bursting model from Pagel and Tautvaišienė with a burst that occurred 3 Gyr ago. These two lines of evidence together favour a bursting cluster formation history as opposed to a continuous one for the SMC.  相似文献

We present continuum intensity-magnetic field distributions for a decaying sunspot. It is shown that a very simple model accounts for the observed correlation. We calculate the r.m.s. density fluctuations using the ID Zel'dovich approximation implemented with a virialization scheme for the very dense fluctuations. The results are quite different from those found in the linear regime with strong implications for the normalization of the power spectrum of the initial density fluctuations. Climatologically, August is the month with the most tropical cyclone(TC) formation over the western North Pacific(WNP) during the typhoon season. In this study, the reason for abnormal TC activity during August is discussed—especially August 2014, when no TCs formed. The large-scale background of August 2014 is presented, with low-level large-scale easterly anomalies and anticyclonic anomalies dominating over the main TC genesis region, a weak monsoon trough system,and a strong WNP subtropical high(WPSH), leading to significantly reduced low-level convergence, upper-level divergence,and mid-level upward motion. These unfavorable large-scale conditions suppressed convection and cyclogenesis. In August2014, equatorial waves were inactive within the negative phase of the Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO), with fewer tropical disturbances. Although the low-level vorticity and convection of those disturbances were partly promoted by the convective envelopes of equatorial waves, the integral evolution of disturbances, as well as the equatorial waves, were suppressed when propagating into the negative MJO phase. Moreover, the upper-level potential vorticity(PV) streamers associated with anticyclonic Rossby wave breaking events imported extratropical cold and dry air into the tropics. The peripheral tropospheric dryness and enhanced vertical wind shear by PV streamer intrusion combined with the negative MJO phase were responsible for the absence of TC formation over the WNP in August 2014.  相似文献

This study investigates the influence of climate change on groundwater availability, and thereby, irrigation across political boundaries within the US High Plains aquifer. A regression model is developed to predict changes in irrigation according to predicted changes in precipitation and temperature from a downscaled dataset of 32 general circulation models (GCMs). Precipitation recharge changes are calculated with precipitation-recharge curves developed for prognostic representations of precipitation across the Nebraska-Colorado-Kansas area and within the Republican River Basin focal landscape. Irrigation-recharge changes are scaled with changes in irrigation. The groundwater responses to climate forcings are then simulated under new pumping and recharge rates using a MODFLOW groundwater flow model. Results show that groundwater pumping and recharge both will increase and that the effects of groundwater pumping will overshadow those from natural fluctuations. Groundwater levels will decline more in areas with irrigation-driven decreasing trends in the baseline. The methodologies and predictions of this study can inform long-term water planning and the design of management strategies that help avoid and resolve water-related conflicts, enabling irrigation sustainability.  相似文献

随着互联网的发展,利用互联网数据来研究城市实体空间问题成为城市地理学研究内容和研究方法的新切入点。本文基于互联网消费平台点评数据、互联网地图实时交通数据和城市兴趣点等数据,在建立住宿业竞争力评价指标体系的基础上,计算武汉主城区高端酒店竞争力得分和排名,并探求住宿业竞争力的空间分布特征和布局模式。研究发现:①武汉高端酒店竞争力得分总体较为集中。价格、人气、周边商业和商务服务是酒店之间竞争力差距的主要因素;②武汉高端酒店竞争力投射在空间上总体呈现点状聚集与线形延伸并存的格局,竞争力高分酒店主要集中在二环线内的武昌和汉口;③随着酒店竞争力等级的下降,酒店空间格局呈现由城市中心向四周递减的圈层式发展规律,高等级酒店大多出现在新兴商业区;④本文归纳了武汉主城区高端酒店竞争力空间分布模型,得出中央活动区新兴商圈顶级高端酒店、中央活动区传统商圈中级高端酒店、交通门户周边中级高端酒店等7种住宿业空间格局类型。  相似文献

This paper presents a formal framework for the representation of three-dimensional geospatial data and the definition of common geographic information system (GIS) spatial operations. We use the compact stack-based representation of terrains (SBRT) in order to model geological volumetric data, both at the surface and subsurface levels, thus preventing the large storage requirements of regular voxel models. The main contribution of this paper is fitting the SBRT into the geo-atom theory in a seamless way, providing it with a sound formal geographic foundation. In addition we have defined a set of common spatial operations on this representation using the tools provided by map algebra. More complex geoprocessing operations or geophysical simulations using the SBRT as representation can be implemented as a composition of these fundamental operations. Finally a data model and an implementation extending the coverage concept provided by the Geography Markup Language standard are suggested. Geoscientists and GIS professionals can take advantage of this model to exchange and reuse geoinformation within a well-specified framework.  相似文献
