Low saline water flooding (LSWF) had proved to be an efficient method for enhanced oil recovery in clay-bearing hydrocarbon reservoirs, but the interaction mechanisms among in-situ rocks – fluids and injection fluids within the reservoir – are not yet known properly. Understanding the molecular level interaction among these components is critical for designing and field scale implementation of LSWF in clay-bearing crystalline reservoir rocks, which is very limited in the existing literature. A weathered amphibolite rock and one dead crude oil from the Bakrol field (Cambay basin, India) have been used in this study. The presence of clay minerals in the weathered amphibolite rock was observed using a polarising microscope and characterised by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) techniques. The crude oil and its fractionated SARA components have been extensively studied by spectroscopic techniques for their characterisation. The interaction study among the rock powder, hydrocarbon crude oil and saline water has been performed in the present work for gaining better insight for designing the injection fluid for LSWF. The weathered amphibolite rock powder was mixed with the dead crude oil and kept for 30 days in room temperature (T) and pressure (P) for proper interaction. The XRD, FTIR and cation exchange capacity results clearly demonstrated the incorporation of crude oil components in the interlayer surfaces of clay minerals. The oil removal efficiency, from the oil-treated rock powder of three saline water samples having NaCl concentration of 3000, 5000 and 8000 ppm, was investigated using the UV–Vis and fluorescence spectroscopies. The low saline NaCl water is capable of removing the maximum amount of polar components from the oil-treated rock powder. These molecular level insights are valuable for designing effective injection fluid for enhancing the oil recovery from the clay-rich crystalline reservoir rock. 相似文献

Interaction of nonplanar ion acoustic solitary waves is an important source of information to study the nature and characteristics of ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) structures. The head-on collision between two cylindrical/spherical IASWs in un-magnetized plasmas comprising with inertial ions, superthermal electrons and positrons is investigated by using the extended version of Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) perturbation method. It has been shown numerically that how the interactions are taking place in cylindrical and spherical geometry. The nonplanar geometry modified analytical phase shifts following the head-on collision are derived. The effects of the superthermal electrons and positrons on the phase shift are studied. It is shown that the properties of the interaction IASWs in different geometry are very different. 相似文献

The current study focuses on the vertical profile of different geochemical fractions of phosphorus-loosely bound(Lo–P),aluminium bound(Al–P),iron bound(Fe–P),calcium bound(Ca–P),and organic bound phosphorus(O–P)along with ecological risk assessment of sediment cores from Chilika Lake,eastcoast of India.The percentage contribution of the different fractions to the sedimentary phosphorus in the sediment column of the whole lake are on the order:O–P(33.2%)>Ca–P(20.3%)>Fe–P(18%)>Al–P(6.7%)>Lo–P(0.35%).The Phosphorus Pollution Index(PPI)revealed the contamination of lake sediment with phosphorus.The principal component and cluster analyses highlighted the anthropogenic contribution of phosphorus.The negative loading of Ca–P with Ca points towards its origin from marine shells.The discriminate analysis showed that the variables like Ca–P,bio-available phosphorus(BAP),and pH were able to effectively discriminate the sectors in a significant manner. 相似文献

Ion acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with superthermal (kappa distributed) cool and hot electrons have been investigated using non-perturbative approach. We have transformed basic model equations to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. Then we have applied the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained equation and we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. We have derived two exact solutions of solitary and periodic waves depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, we have shown the effects of density ratio p of cool electrons and ions, spectral index κ, and temperature ratio σ of cool electrons and hot electrons on characteristics of ion acoustic solitary and periodic waves. 相似文献

A continuous transition from early Friedmann-like radiation era through to late time cosmic acceleration passing through a long Friedmann-like matter dominated era followed by a second phase of radiation era has been realized in modified theory of gravity containing a combination of curvature squared term, a linear term, a three-half term and an ideal fluid. Thus the history of cosmic evolution is explained by modified theory of gravity singlehandedly. The nonlinear propagation and interaction of dust acoustic multi-soliton in a four component dusty plasma which consists of negatively and positively charged cold dust fluids, q-nonextensive velocity distributed electrons and ions, have been studied. Applying reductive perturbation technique (RPT), we have derived Korteweged-de Vries (KdV) equation for our model. By using Hirota bilinear method, we have obtained two-soliton and three-soliton solutions of the obtained KdV equation. Phase shifts of two-soliton and three-soliton have been presented. It has been observed that the parameters α 1, α 2, nonextensive parameter q, temperature ratio of ion to electron (σ), and μ play a crucial role in the formation of two-soliton and three-soliton. The implications of our results in understanding the localized nonlinear electrostatic perturbations observed in double-plasma machines, Cometary tails, Jupiter’s magnetosphere etc., where population of q-nonextensive velocity distributed electrons and ions can significantly dominate the wave dynamics, are also briefly discussed. 相似文献

Present paper deals with a brief review of the research carried out to develop multi-parametric gas-geochemical monitoring facilities dedicated to earthquake prediction research in India by installing a network of seismo-geochemical monitoring observatories at different regions of the country. In an attempt to detect earthquake precursors, the concentrations of helium, argon, nitrogen, methane, radon-222 (222Rn), polonium-218 (218Po), and polonium-214 (214Po) emanating from hydrothermal systems are monitored continuously and round the clock at these observatories. In this paper, we make a cross correlation study of a number of geochemical anomalies recorded at these observatories. With the data received from each of the above observatories we attempt to make a time series analysis to relate magnitude and epicentral distance locations through statistical methods, empirical formulations that relate the area of influence to earthquake scale. Application of the linear and nonlinear statistical techniques in the recorded geochemical data sets reveal a clear signature of long-range correlation in the data sets. 相似文献
