Three distinct groups of eclogites (low-Mg–Ti eclogites, high-Ti eclogites and Mg-rich eclogites) and ultramafic rocks from the depth interval of 100–680 m of the Chinese Continental Scientific Drill Hole were studied. The low Mg#s (= 100?molar Mg/(Mg + Fe)) (81–84%) and low Ni (1150–1220 ppm) and high Fe2O3total (13–15 wt.%) contents of ultramafic rocks suggest a cumulate origin. Mg-rich eclogites show middle and heavy REE enrichments, which could not be produced by metamorphic growth of garnet. Instead, if the rocks formed from a light REE enriched magma, there may be an igneous precursor for some garnets in their protolith. Alternatively, perhaps they formed from a light REE depleted magma without garnet. The high-Ti eclogites are characterized by unusually high Fe2O3total contents (up to 24.5 wt.%) and decoupling of high TiO2 from low Nb and Ta contents. These features cannot be produced by concentration of rutile during UHP metamorphism (even for samples with TiO2 > 4 wt.%) of high-Ti basalts, but could be attributed to crystal fractionation of titanomagnetite (for those with TiO2 < ~ 4 wt.%) or titanomagnetite + ilmenite (for those with TiO2 > ~ 4 wt.%). Thus, we suggest that protoliths of the high-Ti eclogites were titanomagnetite/ilmenite-rich gabbroic cumulates. As a whole, the low-Mg–Ti eclogites are geochemically complementary to the high-Ti eclogites, Mg-rich eclogites and ultramafic rocks, and could be metamorphic products of gabbroic/dioritic cumulates formed by high degree crystal fractionation. All these observations suggest that parental materials of the ultramafic rock-eclogite assemblage could represent a complete sequence of fractional crystallization of tholeiitic or picritic magmas at intermediate to high pressure, which were later carried to ultrahigh-pressure conditions during a continental collision event. 相似文献
In this paper, ionospheric disturbance data from a local GPS network in Hong Kong (low latitude region) are studied in the
solar maximum period (2001–2003). The spatial and temporal distributions of the disturbances in Hong Kong are investigated.
It is found that strong ionospheric disturbances occur frequently during the solar maximum period, particularly around March
and September, and concentrate at the region around geographic latitude 22°N (geomagnetic latitude 12°N). The effects of the
disturbances on GPS geodetic receivers, such as loss of lock and measurement noise level, are also analyzed for the 3-year
period. It shows that the measurement noise level and the number of losses of lock in GPS data increase dramatically during
ionospheric disturbance periods. The behaviors of different types of GPS receivers during the disturbances are also compared. 相似文献
We conduct several experiments using a fully-coupled climate model to understand the role of Tibetan Plateau (TP) surface heating in the climate variations over West Asia, South Europe, North Africa, and the North Atlantic during summer. Emphasis has been placed on the physical processes and responsible mechanisms that involve the shift of the Hadley cell and the important features of rotational and divergent response of the atmosphere to the TP heating. The relative importance of the TP to the Asian continent is also analyzed. A heating of the TP surface leads to local increases in tropospheric temperature and the thickness of the air column due to the so-called air pumping effect. In the upper troposphere, the South Asian high intensifies and extends westward. To the west of TP, especially in West Asia, South Europe, North Africa, and the North Atlantic, distinguished Rossby wave responses to the TP heating occur with anomalous high pressure and uniform warming in the entire troposphere. Correspondingly, descending motions intensify and precipitation decreases. However, the tropical Sahel rainfall increases because of a northward shift of the Atlantic intertropical convergence zone and the anomalous westerlies due to the weakening of the southeastern portion of the Atlantic subtropical high. These effects of the TP heating explain a remarkable portion of the effects by the Asian continent heating. In addition, the impacts of different magnitudes of TP surface heating are also discussed.
This paper analyses the features and dynamic changes of the spatial layout of air transportation utilization among different provinces in China. It makes use of data for the airport throughput and socio-economic development of every province throughout the country in the years 2006 and 2015, and employs airport passenger and cargo throughput per capita and per unit of GDP as measures of regional air transportation utilization, which is significant for refining indicators of regional air transportation scale and comparing against them. It also analyzes the spatial differences of coupling between the regional air transportation utilization indicators and the key influencing factors on regional air transportation demand and utilization, which include per capita GDP, urbanization rate, and population density. Based on these key influencing factors, it establishes a multiple linear regression model to conduct forecasting of each province’s future airport passenger and cargo throughput as well as throughput growth rates. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) Between 2006 and 2015, every province throughout the country showed a trend of year on year growth in their airport passenger and cargo throughput per capita. Throughput per capita grew fastest in Hebei, with a rise of 780%, and slowest in Beijing, with a rise of 38%. Throughput per capita was relatively high in western and southeastern coastal regions, and relatively low in northern and central regions. Airport passenger and cargo throughput per unit of GDP showed growth in provinces with relatively slow economic development, and showed negative growth in provinces with relatively rapid economic development. Throughput per unit of GDP grew fastest in Hebei, rising 265% between 2006 and 2015, and Hunan had the fastest negative growth, with a fall of 44% in the same period. Southwestern regions had relatively high throughput per unit of GDP, while in central, northern, and northeastern regions it was relatively low. (2) Strong correlation exists between airport passenger and cargo throughput per capita and per capita GDP, urbanization rate, and population density. Throughput per capita has positive correlation with per capita GDP and urbanization rate in all regions, and positive correlation with population density in most regions. Meanwhile, there is weak correlation between airport passenger and cargo throughput per unit of GDP and per capita GDP, urbanization rate, and population density, with positive correlation in some regions and negative correlation in others. (3) Between 2015 and 2025, it is estimated that all provinces experience a trend of rapid growth in their airport passenger and cargo throughput. Inner Mongolia and Hebei will see the fastest growth, rising 221% and 155%, respectively, while Yunnan, Sichuan, and Hubei will see the slowest growth, with increases of 62%, 63%, and 65%, respectively. 相似文献
The cluster planting pattern(3 plants per hole) for cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.) may increase economic yield over those of the traditional planting pattern(1 plant per hole) in arid regions of China. This increase in yield depends on either increased biomass production or greater partitioning to fruit. This study was conducted to determine whether differences in biomass accumulation or partitioning to reproductive growth contributed to higher yield in the cluster planting pattern compared with the traditional one. Growth parameters, biomass accumulation, crop growth rate and partitioning between cluster planting pattern and traditional planting pattern was compared in northwest of China. The biomass production and partitioning in cluster planting plot was higher than in traditional planting one. Biomass accumulation was faster early in the clustered treatment, and it was also higher at harvest time. Total dry matter production per unit area was significantly higher than in the traditional planting. On a per plant basis, dry matter accumulation was faster and total biomass production was significantly higher in the cluster planting pattern. Numbers of sympodia and boll sizes were also larger, indicating that facilitation among plants was promoting crop yield. The increase in yield in the cluster planting treatment occurred through increased partitioning of dry matter to fruits than in the traditional planting pattern, resulting in more bolls and increased lint yield in arid regions. 相似文献
It is necessary for undergraduates majoring in geography to learn the history of geographic thought. Although there are different cultural and educational backgrounds between China and the West, teaching methods such as text teaching, students’ presentations and group learning are suitable for most of teachers and students even from different countries and regions. The blended method is helpful to popularize history of geographic thought and improve the level of teaching and learning. Owing to lack of the class on the history of geographic thought in countries like China, the authors try to explore a blended method for the first-year geography undergraduates and to assess the effects of this teaching based on some questionnaires. The students have different benefits and responses to this class. A special group consisting of one teacher and several undergraduates does the research and coauthors the paper through making questionnaire, interviewing and analyzing materials from 67 freshmen majoring in human geography and geography science (teacher-training) in China. For the undergraduates especially from the countries like China, it is well worth making the history of geographic thought become a necessary and interesting class. 相似文献
