The paper reports original thermochemical data on six natural amphibole samples of different composition. The data were obtained by high-temperature melt solution calorimetry in a Tian–Calvet microcalorometer and include the enthalpies of formation from elements for actinolite Ca1.95(Mg4.4Fe0.52+Al01)[Si8.0O22](OH)2(–12024 ± 13 kJ/mol) and Ca2.0(Mg2.9Fe1.92+Fe0.23+)[Si7.8Al0.2O22](OH)2, (–11462 ± 18 kJ/mol), and Na0.1Ca2.0(Mg3.2Fe1.62+Fe0.23+)[Si7.7Al0.3O22](OH)2 (–11588 ± 14 kJ/mol); for pargasite Na0.5K0.5Ca2.0-(Mg3.4Fe1.82+Al0.8)[Si6.2Al1.8O22](OH)2 (–12316 ± 10 kJ/mol) and Na0.8K0.2Ca2.0(Mg2.8Fe1.33+Al0.9) [Si6.1Al1.9O22](OH)2 (–12 223 ± 9 kJ/mol); and for hastingsite Na0.3K0.2Ca2.0(Mg0.4Fe1.32+Fe0.93+Al0.2) [Si6.4Al1.6O22](OH)2 (?10909 ± 11 kJ/mol). The standard entropy, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy of formation are estimated for amphiboles of theoretical composition: end members and intermediate members of the isomorphic series tremolite–ferroactinolite, edenite–ferroedenite, pargasite–ferropargasite, and hastingsite. 相似文献
Facts confirming the hypothesis of contourite sediment infill of the Equatorial Mid-Ocean Canyon (EMOC) are presented. We examined two cores recovered in Cruises 37 and 43 of the R/V Akademik Ioffe (2012, 2013). The cores recovered upper Quaternary miopelagic clays on the EMOC floor (AI-3149) and the adjacent abyssal plain (AI-2620). The study of these cores unraveled significant differences in their composition. In contrast to the lithologically homogeneous Core AI-2620, Core AI-3149 includes interlayers enriched in the biogenic CaCO3, terrigenous silt, and authigenic ferromanganese micronodules. These peculiarities are attributed to activity of the Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) contour currents along the EMOC. 相似文献
The Paulistana and Santa Filomena Complexes are situated in the southern part of the Borborema Province (northeastern Brazil), in the Riacho do Pontal Orogen, and represent meta-volcano-sedimentary sequences. We present compositional variations in the metasedimentary rocks and new U–Pb detrital zircon data. Major and trace elements indicate that the metasedimentary rocks from the Paulistana and Santa Filomena Complexes are composed mostly of immature to mature sediments derived from felsic-intermediate sources with moderate to slightly high chemical weathering. The geochemical signatures of the sediment protoliths for both complexes are characteristic of continental magmatic arc settings with minor contribution from recycled sediment sources. The source area for the Paulistana Complex rocks follow the compositional trend between calc-alkaline granites and granodiorites, whereas the Santa Filomena Complex rocks have a more restricted composition trending to more granodioritic sources. For the Paulistana Complex, two main source ages were identified: (1) Tonian (ca. 950 Ma – sample RPE-58) and Tonian–Stenian (ca. 1.0 Ga – sample RPE-103). These data coupled with geochemical information suggest that the Cariris Velhos arc system was the main source area for the Paulistana Complex. Regarding the Santa Filomena metasedimentary rocks, potential source-areas include: (1) Neoarchaean rocks (~2.6 Ga) represented by the adjacent basement rocks of the Riacho do Pontal Orogen; (2) Rhyacian–Orosirian rocks (2.2–2.0 Ga) of the Riacho do Pontal Orogen and the Pernambuco–Alagoas terrain, which include an augen-gneiss with arc-related geochemical signature; (3) Statherian granites (1.7–1.6 Ga); and (4) Cariris Velhos crust (1000–920 Ma). The metasedimentary rocks of the Paulistana Complex were deposited in a rift stage (ca. 900 Ma), which is related to the break-up of the Rodinia supercontinent. The metasedimentary rocks of the Santa Filomena Complex most probably were deposited in another rift stage (ca. 750–700 Ma) and could be correlatives of the rift formation of the Canindé Domain (Sergipano Orogen). 相似文献
The Varre-Sai meteorite fell along the border of the states of Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; on 19 June 2010 at 5:40 pm. Petrography and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) indicate that the rock is an L5 S4 chondrite, with blastoporphyritic texture that has not been previously described. Geochemical data based on major and rare-earth elements (REEs) show that Varre-Sai is highly similar to the other L chondrites. In Harker diagrams, Varre-Sai, L, and LL chondrites form a single group, suggesting no significant chemical differences between them and contributing to the long-standing debate of whether LL chondrites form a distinct group or whether they are a subset of the L group. Harker diagrams also define a trend from E to H and L/LL chondrites, similar to the cosmochemical trends suggested by other authors. The behaviour of Fe2O3t and NiO indicates a relationship with Fe-Ni alloys, and their trend in the diagram suggests some chemical differentiation in the ordinary chondrite parental bodies. The REE content in Varre-Sai, normalized to C chondrites, falls in the field of L chondrites and others, but with slight REE enrichment. The chemical differences in chondrites, mainly in REEs, Fe2O3t and NiO could be alternatively interpreted as variations in the inherited agglutinated materials as chondrules, Ca–Al-rich inclusions and Fe–Ni nodules. 相似文献
The present study analysed the taphonomic characteristics of small mammal bone accumulations produced by small felids in an area from the central Monte Desert (Mendoza, Argentina). In order to provide criteria to identify the role that these predators had in the formation of zooarchaeological assemblages, the anatomical representation, bone breakage patterns and degrees of digestive corrosion were evaluated. The main taphonomic results are: low average values for the relative abundance of skeletal elements; greater representation of mandibles, maxillae, isolated incisors, humeri and femora than the remaining elements; preponderance of cranial elements with high proportion of isolated teeth; elevated frequencies of proximal limb bones compared with distal parts; high degree of breakage in all skeletal elements and digestive corrosion on almost all diagnostic bones (mainly moderate and heavy). The values of the studied taphonomic variables indicate that small felids in this area made severe alterations to the bones of their prey (mainly rodents), attributable to the category of extreme modifier, while preserving enough skeletal elements to allow their taphonomic characterization. Tooth marks or grooves on bone surfaces produced by scratching and chewing were not detected. The low relative abundance of skeletal elements, the high degree of breakage and the elevated frequency of elements with digestion traces represent general taphonomic patterns that fall within those reported for other South American small carnivores. 相似文献
The results of bio- and lithostratigraphic study of Sargaevo deposits in the Tsil’ma River basin are discussed. The palynological data used for biostratigraphic subdivision of the section provide grounds for defining the miospore assemblage corresponding to the regional miospore Cristatisporites pseudodeliquescens Zone. It is established that deposits of the Sargaevo regional stage are distributed almost through the entire Tsil’ma River basin. They are characterized by distinct lithological features and may serve as a stratigraphic reference unit in field investigations. 相似文献
It is demonstrated on the basis of the first monographic study of multiple and taxonomically variable organic-walled microfossils from the Ust’-Il’ya Formation of the Anabar Uplift that both prokaryotic and eukaryotic forms are present in the composition of this microbiota. They are divided into four formal groups on the basis of the specifics of the morphological indicators of the identified taxa. The review of the data on the isotopic age of hosting deposits showed that the Ust’-Il’ya Formation is of the Early Riphean in age which are currently evaluated as 1750 ± 10–1400 Ma. Relatively large and morphologically complex eukaryotic forms present in the Ust’-Il’ya Formation served in due time as the basis for an erroneous conclusion on the Late Riphean age of the specified formation and the overlying Lower Kotuikan Subformation of the Anabar Uplift. The paper provides a global comparative analysis of the Early Riphean microbiotas, demonstrates the position of the Ust’-Il’ya and Kotuikan microbiotas amidst the microbiotas of the same age, and shows that the relatively large acanthomorphic acritarchs Tappania, Valeria, Dictiosphaera, Satka, and Shuiyousphaeridium appeared in the geological history already during the Early Riphean Erathem. Moreover, the paper discusses the recently published data on the distribution of aerobic and anaerobic conditions in the Early Riphean paleobasins and provides the conclusion on the impact of the lateral change of these conditions on the taxonomic composition of the microbiota. 相似文献
The accuracies of three different evolutionary artificial neural network (ANN) approaches, ANN with genetic algorithm (ANN-GA), ANN with particle swarm optimization (ANN-PSO) and ANN with imperialist competitive algorithm (ANN-ICA), were compared in estimating groundwater levels (GWL) based on precipitation, evaporation and previous GWL data. The input combinations determined using auto-, partial auto- and cross-correlation analyses and tried for each model are: (i) GWLt?1 and GWLt?2; (ii) GWLt?1, GWLt?2 and Pt; (iii) GWLt?1, GWLt?2 and Et; (iv) GWLt?1, GWLt?2, Pt and Et; (v) GWLt?1, GWLt?2 and Pt?1 where GWLt, Pt and Et indicate the GWL, precipitation and evaporation at time t, individually. The optimal ANN-GA, ANN-PSO and ANN-ICA models were obtained by trying various control parameters. The best accuracies of the ANN-GA, ANN-PSO and ANN-ICA models were obtained from input combination (i). The mean square error accuracies of the ANN-GA and ANN-ICA models were increased by 165 and 124% using ANN-PSO model. The results indicated that the ANN-PSO model performed better than the other models in modeling monthly groundwater levels. 相似文献
Mantle xenoliths containing phlogopite and phlogopite–amphibole mineralization from kimberlites of the Kuoika field have been studied. Such xenoliths were found in two series of rocks: magnesian (Mg) pyroxenite–peridotite and Fe-type phlogopite–ilmenite hyperbasite. The 40Ar/39Ar phlogopite age (1600–1800 Ma) and Re–Os and oxygen isotope data in rocks and minerals of the first series of rocks allow us to suggest that Phl–Amph metasomatism of the lithospheric mantle under the Birekte block and its accretion to the Siberian craton occurred in the subduction zone. The second series of rocks is comagmatic to potassium ultramafites and mafites, finding in the Siberian Platform. The phlogopite ages (870–850 Ma) from Phl–Ilm ultramafites corresponds to the beginning of the breakup of the supercontinent Rodinia and is close to ancient age datings of the alkaline ultramafic-carbonatite Tomtor massif. Phlogopite from xenoliths with garnet is much younger in age (500–600 Ma).
New data on mercurial mineralization are presented, and a detailed characteristic is given for the first discovery of mercurous silver in ores of the Rogovik gold–silver deposit (the Omsukchan trough, Northeastern Russia). It was found that native silver in the examined ores occurs as finely-dispersed inclusions in quartz filling microcracks and interstitions. It also occurs in associations with kustelite, Ag sulfosalts and selenides, selenitic acanthite, and argyrodite. The mercury admixture varies from “not detected” in the central parts of grains to 0.22–1.70 wt % along the edges, or, in independent grains, to the appearance of Ag amalgams containing 10.20–24.61 wt % of Hg. The xenomorph form of grains of 50 μm or less in size prevails. It is assumed that the appearance of mercurial mineralization is caused by the superposition of products of the young Hg-bearing Dogda–Erikit belt upon the more ancient Ag-bearing Omsukchan trough.
