Résumé Le but de mon travail est de vérifier dans quelle mesure l'analyse chimique et spectrographique des poteries antiques peut permettre de différencier entre elles ces poteries, et apporter des élémentes susceptibles de résoudre certains problèmes archéologiques de localisation.J'ai analysé un certain nombre échantillons de poteries antiques — 300 échantillons environ — qui ont été mis à ma disposition par MonsieurVallet, professeur à la Faculté des Lettres de Clermont-Ferrand. Ces échantillons sont de provenance diverse: France, Italie, Sicile, Grèce propre et îles grecques, Asie Mineure, Afrique du Nord.L'analyse chimique a porté sur les éléments suivants: Fer, Titane et Manganèse. L'analyse spectrographique porte sur les oligoéléments métalliques suivants: Plomb, Etain, Argent, Cuivre, Chrome, Nickel et Cobalt.Les teneurs en Titane, Plomb, Etain et Argent ne montrent pas de différences significatives. Par contre, les teneurs en Fer, Manganèse d'une part, Cuivre, Chrome, Nickel et Cobalt d'autre part, apportent des éléments de différenciation.
The aim of this study is to verify to what extent chemical and spectrochemical analysis can distinguish among sherds from various localities and to give new data to solve some of the archaeological problems about location.About 300 sherds have been analysed; I got them from D.Vallet, Professor at the Faculté des Lettres in Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne — These samples come from various countries, namely from: France, Italy, Greece, Greek Islands, Asia Minor, North Africa.The chemical analysis was for: Iron, Titanium and Manganese. The determination of trace elements such as: Lead, Tin, Silver, Copper, Chronium, Nickel, Cobalt, is now being carried out by means of spectrochemical analysis.The amount of Titanium, Lead, Tin and Silver shows no significant differences — On the contrary the amount of Iron, Manganese, Copper, Chronium, Nickel and Cobalt, give a good criterion for comparing and contrasting sherds of different provenance.
Zusammenfassung Das Ziel meiner Arbeit ist, zu untersuchen, in welchem Maße es die chemische und spektrographische Analyse von antiken Tonwaren erlaubt, zwischen diesen Tonwaren zu unterscheiden und Lösungen für archäologische Ortsprobleme zu finden.Ich habe eine bestimmte Anzahl von antiken Tonwaren — ungefähr 300 Proben — analysiert die mir M.Vallet, Professor an der Geisteswissenschaftlichen Fakultät von Clermont-Ferrand, zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Diese Proben sind verschiedener Herkunft: Frankreich, Italien, Sizilien, Griechisches Festland, Griechische Inseln, Kleinasien und Nordafrika.Die chemische Analyse betraf die folgenden Elemente: Eisen, Titan, Mangan. Durch die spektrographische Analyse wurden die folgenden Elemente untersucht: Blei, Zink, Silber, Kupfer, Chrom, Nickel und Kobalt.Der Gehalt an Titan, Blei, Zink und Silber der einzelnen Proben zeigte keine wesentlichen Differenzen. Im Gegensatz dazu schwankte der Gehalt an Eisen und Mangan einerseits und Kupfer, Chrom, Nickel und Kobalt anderseits.

Ultra-high pressure eclogite/amphibolite grade metamorphism of the Dora Maira Massif in the western Alps is a well established
and intensively studied event. However, the age of peak metamorphism and early cooling remains controversial. The 40Ar-39Ar step-heating and laser spot ages from high pressure phengites yield plateau ages as old as 110 Ma which have been interpreted
as the time of early cooling after the high pressure event. Recent U/Pb and Sm/Nd results challenge this assertion, indicating
a much younger age for the event, around 45 Ma, and hence a radically different timing for the tectonic evolution of the western
Alps. In a new approach to the problem, samples from the undeformed Hercynian metagranite, Brossasco, were studied using an
ultra-violet laser ablation microprobe technique for 40Ar-39Ar dating. The new technique allowed selective in situ analysis, at a spatial resolution of 50 μm, of quartz, phengite, biotite
and K-feldspar. The results demonstrate the frequent occurrence of excess argon with high 40Ar-36Ar ratios (1000–10000) and a strong relationship between apparent ages and metamorphic textures. The highest excess argon
ratios are always associated with high closure temperature minerals or large diffusion domains within single mineral phases.
The best interpretation of this relationship seems to be that excess argon was incorporated in all phases during the high
pressure event, then mixed with an atmospheric component during rapid cooling and retrogression, producing a wide range of
argon concentrations and 40Ar/36Ar ratios. Step-heating analysis of minerals with this mixture would produce linear arrays on a 36Ar/40Ar versus 39Ar/40Ar correlation diagram, leading to geologically meaningless plateau ages, older than the true closure age. In the present
case, some ages in the range 60–110 Ma could be explained by the presence of excess argon incorporated around 40–50 Ma ago.
Similar results found in other high pressure terrains in the Alps may reconcile the argon geochronometer with other systems
such as Rb/Sr, U/Pb or Sm/Nd. This study therefore calls for an increasing use of high resolution in situ sampling techniques
to clarify the meaning of 40Ar/39Ar ages in many high pressure terrains.

Marble-hosted ruby deposits represent the most important source of colored gemstones from Central and South East Asia. These deposits are located in the Himalayan mountain belt which developed during Tertiary collision of the Indian plate northward into the Eurasian plate. They are spatially related to granitoid intrusions and are contained in platform carbonates series that underwent high-grade metamorphism. All occurrences are located close to major tectonic features formed during Himalayan orogenesis, directly in suture zones in the Himalayas, or in shear zones that guided extrusion of the Indochina block after the collision in South East Asia. Ar–Ar dating of micas syngenetic with ruby and U–Pb dating of zircon included in ruby gives evidence that these deposits formed during Himalayan orogenesis, and the ages document the extensional tectonics that were active, from Afghanistan to Vietnam, between the Oligocene and the Pliocene.The petrography shows that ruby-bearing marbles formed in the amphibolite facies (T = 610 to 790 °C and P ~ 6 kbar). A fluid inclusion study defines the conditions of gem ruby formation during the retrograde metamorphic path (620 < T < 670 °C and 2.6 < P < 3.3 kbar) for the deposits of Jegdalek, Hunza and northern Vietnam.Whole rock analyses of non-ruby-bearing marbles indicate that they contain enough aluminum and chromiferous elements to produce all the ruby crystals that they contain. In addition, (C, O)-isotopic analyses of carbonates from the marbles lead to the conclusion that the marbles acted as a metamorphic closed fluid system that were not infiltrated by externally-derived fluids. The carbon isotopic composition of graphite in marbles reveals that it is of organic origin and that it exchanged C-isotopes with the carbonates during metamorphism. Moreover, the O-isotopic composition of ruby was buffered by metamorphic CO2 released during devolatilisation of marble and the H-isotopic composition of mica is consistent with a metamorphic origin for water in equilibrium with the micas. The (C, O, H)-isotopic compositions of minerals associated with marble-hosted ruby are all in agreement with the hypothesis, drawn from the unusual chemistry of CO2–H2S–COS–S8–AlO(OH)-bearing fluids contained in fluid inclusions, that gem ruby formed at P ~ 3 kbar and 620 < T < 670 °C, during thermal reduction of evaporite by organic matter, at high temperature-medium pressure metamorphism of platform carbonates during the Tertiary India–Asia collision. The carbonates were enriched in Al- and chromiferous-bearing detrital minerals, such as clay minerals that were deposited on the platform with the carbonates, and in organic matter. Ruby formed during the retrograde metamorphic path, mainly by destabilization of muscovite or spinel. The metamorphic fluid system was rich in CO2 released from devolatilisation of carbonates, and in fluorine, chlorine and boron released by molten salts (NaCl, KCl, CaSO4). Evaporites are key to explaining the formation of these deposits. Molten salts mobilized in situ Al and metal transition elements contained in marbles, leading to crystallization of ruby. 相似文献

A model of population synthesis for our Galaxy is used to estimate the constraints imposed by photometric and astrometric star counts. We construct a statistical method to compute the degree of compatibility of the model with the data in the form of a multidimensional functionf(V, B-V, U-B, ). We apply the method to the determination of the star formation history in the Galaxy from Schmidt plates towards the anticentre. Although the presently available data do not allow us to draw firm conclusions, we show that the same kind of data with a slightly better photometric accuracy and with proper motions would give new constraints on the past star formation rate of the Galaxy. 相似文献

This paper presents a review of recent results concerning the structure and the rotation of the inner core, as inferred from seismological observations. We first focus on the apparent hemispherical pattern of the inner core structure, observed in both the anisotropy and the heterogeneity of the uppermost layers, whereas isotropic velocities seem to be homogeneous in a broad wavelength domain. Then we present results on the radial variations of the attenuation and its possible anisotropy, for which viscoelasticity and wave scattering provide complementary explanations. Linked to these results is a discussion about the detection of the PKJKP phase, which propagates as S-wave inside the inner core. Finally, the seismological observations of a possible inner core rotation are discussed; recent results seem to favour rotation rates below 0.2° yr?1. 相似文献

Chemical and biological characterization of particles by flow cytometry in the Krka estuary, Croatia
Flow cytometry was used to characterize suspended particles in the Krka estuary (Croatia). This technique allows a rapid characterization and quantification of individual particles; it is based on the simultaneous measurement of the light scatter and natural or induced fluorescence. The relative size of the particles was determined by light scatter signals and by a calibration with fluorescent beads.The determination of organic particles was carried out by staining with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). The autofluorescence of photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll and phycoerythrin) present in the phytoplankton population was measured. The carbohydrates (galactose and glucose-mannose) were stained by lectins conjugated to FITC. The abundance of organic coatings or mineral particles and detritus was obtained from the difference between the total number of particles stained by specific carbohydrate fluorochromes and living cells.Results show that the Krka estuary is characterized by the occurrence of very small particles. About 80% of suspended particles are organic, most of these particles being living cells. The only exception is the Guduca River, a small tributary. 相似文献

In fish, as well as in mammals, it is well known that the cytochrome P450-dependent oxidative metabolism of xenobiotics can generate DNA-reactive species. Moreover, this metabolism is known to be inducible by several compounds of environmental significance, such as polychlorobiphenyls, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and dioxins. Consequently, we studied the relationship between the degree of induction of the cytochrome P4501A, expressed as that of 7-ethylresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) activity, and the level of DNA-adducts, using the post-labelling assay, in the liver of rainbow trout exposed to benzo(a)pyrene (a representative PAH). The results showed a significant 2- to 4-fold increase in EROD activity 2, 4 and 8 days after treatment, paralleled by an increase in DNA-adduct levels. This work further emphasizes the involvement of cytochrome P4501A in the metabolism of benzo(a)pyrene into genotoxic metabolites in rainbow trout. 相似文献

Karst estuaries are unique systems governed by freshwater inputs that flow directly to the sea through karst conduits and/or matrices. Because they are found at the interface between terrestrial and marine environments, they can act as sentinels to climate change and as indicators of aquifer health. The physical and geochemical gradients formed in karst estuaries are a direct result of the interactions between inland hydrological conditions and sea level. To examine the influence these gradients have on microbial communities in the water column and sediment of a karst estuary, we studied the spring-fed Double Keyhole Karst Estuary in west central Florida for a 2-year period. Four sites were monitored within this system starting at the Double Keyhole Spring Conduit extending 2 km west through the estuary toward the Gulf of Mexico. Water column and sediment samples were collected quarterly at all sites from September 2011 through September 2013. Archaeal, bacterial, and microbial eukaryote communities were analyzed using quantitative PCR and length-heterogeneity PCR. The biological communities were analyzed in the context of hydrological, physical, and geochemical parameters in order to determine which factor(s) governed the observed changes of microbial abundance and richness. The major finding of this study was that microbial community change in this karst estuary was primarily driven by the volume of aquifer discharge and associated physical gradients, and less by the geochemical fluctuations within the system. 相似文献

The Lower Triassic Mineral Mountains area (Utah, USA) preserves diversified Smithian and Spathian reefs and bioaccumulations that contain fenestral‐microbialites and various benthic and pelagic organisms. Ecological and environmental changes during the Early Triassic are commonly assumed to be associated with numerous perturbations (productivity changes, acidifica‐tion, redox changes, hypercapnia, eustatism and temperature changes) post‐dating the Permian–Triassic mass extinction. New data acquired in the Mineral Mountains sediments provide evidence to decipher the relationships between depositional environments and the growth and distribution of microbial structures. These data also help to understand better the controlling factors acting upon sedimentation and community turnovers through the Smithian–early Spathian. The studied section records a large‐scale depositional sequence during the Dienerian(?)–Spathian interval. During the transgression, depositional environments evolved from a coastal bay with continental deposits to intertidal fenestral–microbial limestones, shallow subtidal marine sponge–microbial reefs to deep subtidal mud‐dominated limestones. Storm‐induced deposits, microbialite–sponge reefs and shallow subtidal deposits indicate the regression. Three microbialite associations occur in ascending order: (i) a red beds microbialite association deposited in low‐energy hypersaline supratidal conditions where microbialites consist of microbial mats and poorly preserved microbially induced sedimentary structure; (ii) a Smithian microbialite association formed in moderate to high‐energy, tidal conditions where microbialites include stromatolites and associated carbonate grains (oncoids, ooids and peloids); and (iii) a Spathian microbialite association developed in low‐energy offshore conditions that is preserved as multiple decimetre thick isolated domes and coalescent domes. Data indicate that the morphologies of the three microbialite associations are controlled primarily by accommodation, hydrodynamics, bathymetry and grain supply. This study suggests that microbial constructions are controlled by changes between trapping and binding versus precipitation processes in variable hydrodynamic conditions. Due to the presence of numerous metazoans associated with microbialites throughout the Smithian increase in accommodation and Spathian decrease in accommodation, the commonly assumed anachronistic character of the Early Triassic microbialites and the traditional view of prolonged deleterious conditions during the Early Triassic time interval is questioned. 相似文献
