125 whole rock samples from the productive Marysville, Montana, granodiorite and the surrounding metamorphic rocks were analyzed by neutron activation analysis for gold and silver, and by atomic absorption for copper, lead and zinc. In the vicinity of known gold veins, anomalous values for gold and silver were found in both types of bedrock. Anomalies for the base metals were much less pronounced. The results indicate that systematic analysis of igneous bodies could be useful in exploration for hydrothermal ore deposits.
Zusammenfassung 125 Gesteinsproben des sogenannten produktiven Granodiorits in Marysville (Montana) wurden durch Neutronenaktivierungsanalyse auf Gold und Silber und mittels Atomabsorptionsanalyse auf Kupfer, Blei und Zink analysiert. In der Nähe bekannter Goldadern wurden in beiden Gesteinsarten ungewöhnlich hohe Gold- und Silber-Werte gefunden. Anomale Werte für Kupfer, Blei und Zink waren seltener. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß eine systematische Untersuchung magmatischer Gesteinskomplexe bei der Suche nach hydrothermalen Erzlagerstätten von Nutzen sein kann.

Zusammenfassung Die früheren Angaben über die Pyroxenführung, besonders über den Gehalt an rhombischem Pyroxen, wurden in den Basalten der südwestlichen Ausläufer des Vogelsberges überprüft. Es kann in Abhängigkeit vom SiO2-Gehalt dieser Gesteine eine Beziehung über die Zusammensetzung der Basalte und die Art der auftretenden Pyroxene aufgestellt werden. Vereinfacht ergibt sich, daß die Olivinbasalte keinen rhombischen Pyroxen in der Grundmasse führen - abgesehen von den Olivinknollen - und die Gesteine mit Bronzitführung dem gabbrodioritischen bzw. dioritischen Magmentyp angehören. Daneben kommt Pigeonit in weiter Verbreitung vor. Diese Befunde unterstützen die Auffassung, daß die Olivinknollen der Basalte Reste von assimilierten Peridotiten sind. die dem basaltischen primären Magma zugefügt werden. Dadurch wird ein Hinweis auf den Ort der Bildung der basaltischen Magmen gegeben.  相似文献

Summary Remote sensing and ground measurements were used to evaluate the homogeneity of the Scots pine plantation of Hartheim and the interactions between the forest and its surroundings during HartX.Remote sensing data contribute to characterization of the Scots pine plantation of Hartheim in terms of surface properties and thermal and biological characteristics of the forest. The surroundings of the main experiment site in the forest has homogenous normalized difference vegetation index, microwave specle and brightness temperatures to all directions for at least 500 m. Local sensible heat flux estimates using satellite measured brightness temperatures andin situ measured wind and air temperatures showed good agreement.On some days during HartX the test area was influenced by advection of dry air from the northern Upper Rhine Valley. Agricultural surroundings close to the forest are influenced by breezes flowing out of the forest during radiative nights with weak large-scale motion.With 7 Figures  相似文献

During the hydraulic-fracturing experiment in the German Continental Deep Drilling Borehole (KTB) in December 1994, microseismic activity was induced. Here we develop a technique for estimating permeability using the spatio-temporal distribution of the fluid-injection-induced seismic emission. The values we have obtained for the KTB experiment (0.25times10-16 to 1.0times10-16 1.0times10-16 m2) are in a very good agreement with the previous hydraulic-type permeability estimates from KTB deep-observatory studies. In addition, our estimates of the hydraulic diffusivity support the previously calculated value for the upper crust, which is of the order of 1 m2 s-1. Seismic reflection data document for the first time the existence of a BSR in a limited area west of the Dnieper Canyon in the northwestern Black Sea. Seismic wide-angle data suggest that gas hydrates occupy in average 15±2% of the pore space in a zone of 100 m in thickness. A conservative quantification of the amount of methane associated with this gas hydrate occurrence is about 12±3×1011 m3 (0.6±0.2 Gt of methane carbon). Conductive heat flow deduced from the BSR depth is in the range of 21±6 to 55±15 mW m–2.  相似文献

The Great Basin in the western United States consists of almost level desert basins and alternating parallel mountain ranges. It has sparse, mostly interior, drainage and a few permanent lakes. The climate is arid and semiarid. Fairly large areas are true deserts. The main Cenozoic climatic changes have been: 1. a general cooling during the Tertiary and the early Pleistocene, 2. a progressive drying from the early Miocene into the Pleistocene as a consequence of rise of the Sierra Nevada and the Cascades, and 3. Pleistocene fluctuations between cold-moist and warm-dry ages.The Ice Age left known records of three or four major glaciations, the last of which had two maxima. The glaciations were relatively extensive on the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada and just east of the Great Basin, and glaciers existed on several ranges in northeastern Nevada. Each glacial was accompanied by a pluvial, which culminated just after the glacial maximum. The pluvial lakes were largest on Lat. 40°. The histories of the huge lakes Bonneville and Lahontan are incompletely known. During the Mankato-Tioga-Provo'glacio-pluvial maximum the temperature in the Great Basin seems to have been only 2.5–3 C° lower, and the precipitation on the surface of Lake Lahontan (Dendritic Lake) twice as large as now.The Neothermal (Postglacial, Postpluvial), the equivalent of the interglacials, is with long-distance correlation in view subdivided on the basis of the major temperature changes into the Ana-,.Alti-, and Medithermal ages. However, in the dry country of the Great Basin the changes in moisture are more apparent and important. The Altithermal was distinctly drier than the present, and nearly all the basins went dry. About 2000 B.C. several basins began again to contain lakes which remained permanent through some acute brief droughts. These recentmodern lakes attained very moderate maxima some time before Christ, while the glaciers in the adjacent mountains probably reached their greatest extent since the Anathermal during the last centuries.  相似文献
