Regional studies landward of the trench show that gravity anomalies are low compared with those expected from the cold sinking slab and that residual depth anomalies are strongly negative at distances up to 1200 km from the trench. It is shown that flow models taking simultaneously account of the viscous coupling and of the cooling effect of the sinking slab are able to explain these facts: the viscous coupling being related only to observed data down to 400 km from the trench, while the cooling effect mainly explains data at larger distances from the subduction zone.  相似文献

The shallow intrusive bodies and lava flows emplaced within the Permian upper red unit in the Anayet Massif, represent a magmatic episode that occurred about 255 Ma (Saxonian) in the Pyrenean Axial Zone (northern Spain). Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) measurements, in both igneous bodies and their host rocks, allow us to infer the existence of magnetic fabrics of tectonic origin linked to the main cleavage-related folding episode. The relationship between the susceptibility axes and the field structures is the criterion that permits to differentiate normal from inverse magnetic fabrics in the igneous samples. The structural interpretation of all AMS data taken from the igneous bodies and sedimentary host rocks, is in accordance with a folding model which include: (i) flattening associated with cleavage formation during fold amplification in incompetent layers (host pelites), responsible for a magnetic lineation at high angles with respect to the regional folding axis and (ii) buckling in competent (conglomerates and igneous bodies) levels, responsible for a magnetic lineation parallel to the regional fold axes.  相似文献

The launch of ROSAT opened a new era in the study of T Tauri stars. Prompted by the IUE results, the new X-ray data confirms the existence of extremely high levels of activity in these young stars, very likely of magnetic nature. We address a detailed analysis of the star TW Hya in the X-ray spectral range. A summary of its properties in the UV will also be included in order to grasp an overall picture of the activity in this star. Summary. The mean gravity profiles, across Central and South America and Eurasia, in the direction normal to the subduction zone are deduced from the Gem 10B gravity model. They have a typical shape: a maximum close to the trench, a negative slope towards the interior of the plate over a 3000 km wide distance, usually followed by a local maximum. It is found that large convective cells driven by the heat sink of the sinking slab have an associated gravity signal having such a typical shape. A detailed comparison between observed and theoretical data supports this point of view and thus constrains the possible structure of the convective flow under these plates.  相似文献
