The joint Taiwan–US mission FORMOSAT-3/ COSMIC (COSMIC) was launched on April 17, 2006. Each of the six satellites is equipped with two POD antennas. The orbits of the six satellites are determined from GPS data using zero-difference carrier-phase measurements by the reduced dynamic and kinematic methods. The effects of satellite center of mass (COM) variation, satellite attitude, GPS antenna phase center variation (PCV), and cable delay difference on the COSMIC orbit determination are studied. Nominal attitudes estimated from satellite state vectors deliver a better orbit accuracy when compared to observed attitude. Numerical tests show that the COSMIC COM must be precisely calibrated in order not to corrupt orbit determination. Based on the analyses of the 5 and 6-h orbit overlaps of two 30-h arcs, orbit accuracies from the reduced dynamic and kinematic solutions are nearly identical and are at the 2–3 cm level. The mean RMS difference between the orbits from this paper and those from UCAR (near real-time) and WHU (post-processed) is about 10 cm, which is largely due to different uses of GPS ephemerides, high-rate GPS clocks and force models. The kinematic orbits of COSMIC are expected to be used for recovery of temporal variations in the gravity field.  相似文献

Based on a new set of electronic spectra in a relatively wide spectral range (3500–8300 Å) and using the methods of spectrum disentangling (code KOREL) and solution of RV curves (code FOTEL), we determined new orbital elements of the binary star κ Dra. The solution of the radial velocity curves for Balmer and some other strong metallic lines suggested a circular orbit and led to the following orbital elements: period P = 61.555 ± 0.029 days, epoch of periastron passage T periast = 49980.22 ± 0.59, RV semi-amplitude K 1 = 6.81 ± 0.24 km s?1, and a mass function of f(m) = 0.002 M . Lines of the secondary were not detected. In addition, moving absorption bumps in the violet peaks of Hα and Hβ lines were found to be phase-locked with the orbital period. Their presence suggests some kind of interaction between the binary components.  相似文献

Attention is drawn to the fact that the term “post-flare loops” is incorrect and should be avoided, because the loops are parts of the flare itself. Two other names for these loop systems are suggested. Originally this was the sixth of a series of essays, published in Eos, Transactions of the American Geophysical Union on terms used in solar – terrestrial physics that are thought to be in need of clarification. The topics and writers were selected by an IAU Division II Terminology Committee. However, because of a change in EOS ’s publication policy, this contribution could no longer be published there. Therefore, following the advice of the Committee, it has been submitted to Solar Physics.  相似文献

Résumén

La distribution des fabriques dans un dôme trachytique a été analysée sur la base des orientations préférentielles des cristaux de sanidine. L’orientation préférentielle des plans (010) des cristaux de sanidine a été quantifiée par le calcul du tenseur d’orientation. Le sens de cisaillement a été déterminé à l’aide de relations entre les plans S et C.

Les plans (010) des cristaux de sanidine montrent une fabrique résultant d’un aplatissement dans la partie centrale du dôme et d’un cisaillement simple dans les parties marginales. Les critères de cisaillement montrent le mouvement uni forme de magma trachytique à l’échelle de tout le massif. Nous interprétons la disposition des plans S-C et la répartition des fabriques dans le massif à la superposition de lames successives de magma les unes sur les autres. L’acquisition des fabriques dans le massif est comparée aux expériences en compression uniaxiale le Tullis (1976) et la mise en place des magmas trachytiques est assimilée au mouvement d’un piston dans des conditions de basse pression de confinement et de haute vitesse de déformation pendant le stade d’intrusion précuce. Le gonflement faible a modifié tardivement les fabriques initiales surtout dans la partie de déversement et sommitale.  相似文献

Inertial waves as oscillatory motions in rotating fluids generate internal shear layers at critical latitudes. We investigated the nonlinear interaction of inertial waves for global flows (3D flows) in dependence on the Ekman number. When the value of the Ekman number decreases, the influence of the Ekman layers to the flow pattern increases. Critical latitudes, the attractor flow pattern and certainly internal shear layers are observable mainly at greater values of the Ekman number. Although, with decreasing the Ekman number smaller flow structures become visible, nonlinear interactions in shear layers drive an axisymmetric flow whose amplitude diverges at the limit of the vanishing Ekman number. We show that this conclusion is valid not only for zonal wind driven by inertial modes but also for similarly driven global flows.  相似文献

Two integral transformations between the stress function, differentiation of which gives the meridian and prime vertical components of the sub-crustal stress due to mantle convection, and the satellite-to-satellite tracking (SST) data are presented in this article. In the first one, the SST data are the disturbing potential differences between twin-satellites and in the second one the line-of-sight (LOS) gravity disturbances. It is shown that the corresponding integral kernels are well-behaving and therefore suitable for inversion and recovery of the stress function from the SST data. Recovery of the stress function and the stress components is also tested in numerical experiments using simulated SST data. Numerical studies over the Himalayas show that inverting the disturbing potential differences leads to a smoother stress function than from inverting LOS gravity disturbances. Application of the presented integral formulae allows for recovery of the stress from the satellite mission GRACE and its planned successor.  相似文献

We discuss an approach to the component separation of microwave, multifrequency sky maps as those typically produced from cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy data sets. The algorithm is based on the two-step, parametric, likelihood-based technique recently elaborated on by Eriksen et al., where the foreground spectral parameters are estimated prior to the actual separation of the components. In contrast with the previous approaches, we accomplish the former task with help of an analytically derived likelihood function for the spectral parameters, which, we show, yields estimates equal to the maximum likelihood values of the full multidimensional data problem. We then use these estimates to perform the second step via the standard, generalized-least-squares-like procedure. We demonstrate that the proposed approach is equivalent to a direct maximization of the full data likelihood, which is recast in a computationally tractable form. We use the corresponding curvature matrices to characterize statistical properties of the recovered parameters. We incorporate in the formalism some of the essential features of the CMB data sets, such as inhomogeneous pixel domain noise, unknown map offsets as well as calibration errors and study their consequences for the separation. We find that the calibration is likely to have a dominant effect on the precision of the spectral parameter determination for a realistic CMB experiment. We apply the algorithm to simulated data and discuss the results. Our focus is on partial sky, total intensity and polarization, CMB experiments such as planned balloon-borne and ground-based efforts, however, the techniques presented here should be also applicable to the full-sky data as for instance, those produced by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe ( WMAP ) satellite and anticipated from the Planck mission.  相似文献

The CO2 concentration of the air in Postojna Cave (400–7900 ppm) is found to be induced by CO2 sources (human respiration contributing?~?20,000–58,000 ppm per breath, outgassing of dripwater and water seeping from the vadose zone/epikarst with a pCO2 values of 5000–29,000 ppm, and underground Pivka River having pCO2 at 2344–4266 ppm) and CO2 dilution (inflow of outside air with a CO2 concentration of?~?400 ppm). Measurements show that sinking Pivka River has the lowest CO2 concentration among plausible CO2 sources but still continuously exceeds the surrounding cave air CO2 concentration. During the winter months, intensive ventilation reduces the cave air CO2 concentration to outside levels (~?400 ppm), even in the centre of the cave system. CO2 dilution is less pronounced in summer (CO2(min)?≈?800 ppm), since the ventilation rate is not as strong as in winter and the outside air that enters the cave through breathing holes and fractures is enriched with soil CO2. During spring and autumn, the daily alternation of the ventilation regime with a smaller rate of air exchange results in yearly cave air CO2 peaks of up to?~?2400 ppm. Some dead-end passages can be much less affected by ventilation, resulting in a cave air CO2 concentration of up to 7900 ppm. The strongest diurnal CO2 peaks due to human respiration were recorded during the spring holidays (increase of up to 1300 ppm day?1), compared to considerably smaller summer peaks despite peak visits (increase of?~?600 ppm day?1).  相似文献
