Current distribution of Atherina lagunae poses an interesting biogeographical problem as this species inhabits widely separate circum-Mediterranean lagoons. Statistical analyses of 87 biometric parameters and genetic variation in a portion of the cytochrome b gene were examined in four populations of A. lagunae from Tunisian and French lagoons. The results suggested a subdivision into two distinct Atherinid groups: one included the French lagoonal sand smelts and the second included the Tunisian ones. Tunisian lagoonal sand smelts were distinguished from the French ones by the lower number of lateral line scales, vertebrae, pectorals and first dorsal fin rays and the higher number of lower and total gillrakers. In addition, A. lagunae from Tunisian lagoons are characterised by short preorbital length, developed operculum, broad interorbital space, larger head, robust body and a relatively small first dorsal fin which is positioned backwards. In addition, intraspecific sequence variation in a portion of the cytochrome b gene was examined in 87 individuals from Tunisia and France. The high correlation between the results of the molecular phylogenetic tree and biometric statistical data analysis suggested that two different sibling species or at least sub-species or semi-species have colonised the lagoons. In addition, our analyses suggested that the evolution of A. lagunae probably occurred in two steps including marine sympatric speciation within the large Atherina boyeri complex and a post-Pleistocene colonisation of the lagoons.  相似文献

The variations of the upper atmosphere air density during geomagnetic disturbances have been investigated by many authors. According to the analysis of satellite orbits, in most cases an increase in the air density may be observed when the indexA phas a maximum. Having ionospheric data from stations in Europe, Asia and Australia we might be able to study the global behaviour of the electron density in theF 2 region during such geomagnetic disturbances when an increase of the air density had been observed. In these cases we found, that at the peak of the ionospheric layer, the electron density decreased 0–3 days later than theA pmaximum.  相似文献

Micas from magmatic and metamorphic rocks differ from one another in chemical composition and in trace element content. The chemical composition of micas is discussed in relation to their occurrence, paragenesis and sequence of crystallization. On the basis of previous studies of the relationship between the physical properties and the chemical composition of 34 chemically analysed micas, reliable physical methods have been established which permit identification of different mica varieties in the same rock. Structural formulae and trace element content of micas from basic and granitic rocks, as well as from skarns, schists, ortho- and paragneisses are discussed. The relationship between the components of the tetrahedral and octahedral layers and of the interlayer are illustrated as ratios. Poorly differentiated, hybrid and metasomatic rocks often contain more than one variety of mica. Some prophyritic basalts and lamprophyres contain an early phlogopite which is paragenetically related to pyroxene phenocrysts and late biotite which occurs in the groundmass and in the fractures as a result of the crystallization of residual magma. The biotitemuscovite assemblage was observed in granodiorites, quartz-monzonites, schists and gneisses. In the albite-K-feldspar granites, muscovite predominates and the biotite is usually altered. The chemical composition of micas from metamorphic rocks depends on the grade of metamorphism and on the nature of associated minerals. The biotite from paragneisses contains considerable quantities of octahedral alumina. Pre-metamorphic micas show variable deficiencies of the (OH, F) group. The micas are useful minerals in determining the degree of differentiation and subsequent alteration of igneous rocks. Landfilling is a common practice worldwide for solid waste management. The leachate generated at landfill sites contains various organic and inorganic pollutants while it should be treated properly. In this study, the electrocoagulation (EC) process was recognized for its simplicity and effectiveness which was used for the treatment of leachate from the Djebel Chakir landfill site in northern Tunisia. In addition, we investigated the effect of microorganisms (e.g., bacteria, fungi, spore) on sludge production by the application of autoclaving treatment on raw leachate. The application of low current density (15 mA/cm2) within 2 h of treatment and using Al-Al electrodes revealed significant improvement of performance when autoclaving was applied. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) and nitrogen removal increased from 39 to 64% and from 13 to 30%, respectively. The sludge volume was reduced from 40 to 10%, and thus, its handling and disposal costs would be significantly decreased. The energy consumption rate was stable after 40 min of treatment at about 0.8 kWh/kg COD removed. Our study shows that removal of microorganisms by autoclaving prior to the EC process is promising for landfill leachate treatment. However, since autoclaving is far from being practical and cost-effective at full-scale plant, research on coupling EC with an alternative disinfecting process might be of great interest.  相似文献

Stable isotopes (??2H, ??18O and ??13C) and radiocarbon (14C) have been used in conjunction with chemical data to evaluate recharge mechanisms and groundwater residence time, and to identify inter-aquifer mixing in the Djeffara multi-aquifer in semi-arid southeastern Tunisia. The southern part of this basin, the Djeffara of Medenine aquifer system, is comprised of two main aquifers of Triassic and Miocene sandstone. The Triassic aquifer presents two compartments; the first one (west of the Medenine fault system) is unconfined with a well-defined isotope fingerprint; the second compartment is deeper and confined. Multi-tracer results show groundwater of different origins, ages and salinities, and that tectonic features control groundwater flows. Fresh and brackish groundwater from the unconfined part of the Triassic aquifer was mostly recharged during the Holocene. The recharge rates of this aquifer, inferred by 14C ages, are variable and could reach 3.5?mm/year. Brackish water of the deep confined part of the Triassic aquifer has stable isotope composition and 14C content that indicates earlier recharge during late Pleistocene cold periods. Brackish to saline water of the Miocene aquifer presents variable isotope composition. Groundwater flowing through the Medenine fault system is mainly feeding the Miocene aquifer rather than the deep confined part of the Triassic aquifer.  相似文献

The pyranometer for observing the solar radiation reaching the surface of the earth is manufactured by various companies around the world. The sensitivity of the pyranometer at the observatory is required to be properly controlled based on the reference value of the World Radiometric Center (WRC) and the observatory environment; otherwise, the observational data may be subject to a large error. Since the sensitivity of the pyranometer can be calibrated in an indoor or outdoor calibration, this study used a CSTM-USS-4000C Integrating Sphere by Labsphere Inc. (USA) to calibrate the sensitivity of CMP22 pyranometer by Kipp&Zonen Inc. (Netherlands). Consequently, the factory sensitivity of CMP22 was corrected from 8.68 μV·(Wm?2)?1 to 8.98 μV·(Wm?2)?1, and the result from the outdoor calibration according to the observatory environment was 8.90 μV·(Wm?2)?1. After the indoor calibration of the pyranometer sensitivity, the root mean square error (RMSE) of the observational data at the observatory on a clear day without clouds (July 13, 2017) was 7.11 Wm?2 in comparison to the reference pyranometer. After the outdoor calibration of the pyranometer sensitivity based on these results, the RMSE of the observational data was 1.74 Wm?2 on the same day. Periodic inspections are required because the decrease of sensitivity over time is inevitable in the pyranometer data produced at the observatory. The initial sensitivity after indoor calibration (8.98 μV·(Wm?2)?1) is important, and the sensitivity after outdoor calibration (8.90 μV·(Wm?2)?1) can be compared to the data at the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) or can be used for various studies and daily applications.  相似文献

Detailed hydrogeochemical investigation has provided new information concerning the major factors and mechanisms controlling the groundwater chemistry of Chougafiya basin. The hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwaters comprise three main types: Cl–SO4–Ca, Cl–SO4–Na and Cl–Na. Hydrochemical characteristics based on the bivariate diagrams of major (Cl?, SO4 2?, NO3 ?, HCO3 ?, Na+, Mg2+, K+ and Ca2+) and some trace (Br? and Sr2+) ions, mineral saturation indices and hierarchical cluster analysis indicate different origins of groundwater mineralization. The water–rock interaction (dissolution of evaporitic minerals), followed by cation exchange reactions with clay minerals, constitute the main processes that control groundwater salinization. However, the chemical composition of brackish groundwater in the central and southern parts of the study area is influenced by a mixing process with Sabkhas salt groundwater. The mixing proportions inferred from chloride mass balance prove that the contribution of Sabkhas groundwater to Quaternary aquifer ranges between 2.7 and 9.1 %. These intrusion rates reflect the progress of the saltwater–freshwater interface, which is mainly controlled by the piezometric level variation and the distance to the Sabkhas.  相似文献

The co-treatment of landfill leachate (LFL) with municipal wastewater (MWW) using shortcut sequencing batch reactor combined with coagulation–settling process (SBR + CS) was investigated. Four ratios of LFL to MWW volume (v/v) were used during experiments including the ratios 1:9, 2:8, 3:7 and 5:5. The average quality of the LFL was chemical oxygen demand (COD) of 20,800 mg L?1 and NH4-N of 2,645 mg L?1. The SBR-treating LFL in six series where mixing aeration and settling phases were varied from 4 to 14 h was combined with coagulation (FeCl3, Al2(SO4)3) with an interval of 2 h. It was found that ratio (1:9) of leachate to MWW under aeration and mixing phase of 4 h with settling time of 1.5 h exhibited the highest ability to remove both COD and NH 4 + -N, 99% and 85%, respectively. The short-time sequential batch reactor was tested for the treatment of raw LFL, and only 47% and 23% removal of COD and NH 4 + -N, respectively, could be achieved.  相似文献

The internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) region of 29 individuals of Cerastoderma glaucum (from the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic and the North Sea) and 18 individuals of Cerastoderma edule (from the Atlantic and the North Sea) and the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) region of 43 individuals of C. glaucum (from the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic and the North Sea) and 9 individuals of C. edule (from the Atlantic and the North Sea) were PCR amplified and sequenced. The ITS1 sequences led us to describe 27 genetic haplotypes, while 21 genetic haplotypes were determined via the COI sequences. The ITS1 and the COI sequences revealed an important genetic variability within the Mediterranean population of C. glaucum, which contained two different phenotypes: orange foot and yellow foot. A genetic differentiation between the two phenotypes was revealed by the nucleotide diversity index (π) and is strengthened by the AMOVA analysis. This result leads us to suspect the presence of two different groups in the same population of C. glaucum. Nevertheless to be confirmed this hypothesis requires further studies using more locations and a larger number of sample sizes.  相似文献
