Résumé Développé sur tableur MS Excel, Calhy est un modèle monodimensionnel d'irrigation à la planche sur calan homogène, pour un sol sur horizon sous-jacent très drainant. De type onde cinétique ou onde diffusante, il adapte le modèle de Green et Ampt et l'équation de Manning-Strickler en tenant compte d'une rétention de surface. Avec cinq paramètres, dont deux mesurés pour décrire l'état d'humectation initial du sol et trois optimisés, le modèle reproduit l'avancement du front ruisselé et le débit de colature observés lors d'irrigations sur prairie dans la plaine semi aride de la Crau (Sud de la France). Les paramètres optimisés sont: la conductivité hydraulique à saturation du sol, constante; le coefficient de Strickler et la rétention de surface, décroissants durant la saison avec l'évolution de la flore et du microrelief. Didactique et convivial, le modèle peut aider à optimiser l'irrigation, dans le but d'obtenir l'infiltration désirée en apportant le moins d'eau possible. We provide a generalized discussion of tidal evolution to arbitrary order in the expansion of the gravitational potential
between two spherical bodies of any mass ratio. To accurately reproduce the tidal evolution of a system at separations less
than 5 times the radius of the larger primary component, the tidal potential due to the presence of a smaller secondary component
is expanded in terms of Legendre polynomials to arbitrary order rather than truncated at leading order as is typically done
in studies of well-separated system like the Earth and Moon. The equations of tidal evolution including tidal torques, the
changes in spin rates of the components, and the change in semimajor axis (orbital separation) are then derived for binary
asteroid systems with circular and equatorial mutual orbits. Accounting for higher-order terms in the tidal potential serves
to speed up the tidal evolution of the system leading to underestimates in the time rates of change of the spin rates, semimajor
axis, and mean motion in the mutual orbit if such corrections are ignored. Special attention is given to the effect of close
orbits on the calculation of material properties of the components, in terms of the rigidity and tidal dissipation function,
based on the tidal evolution of the system. It is found that accurate determinations of the physical parameters of the system,
e.g., densities, sizes, and current separation, are typically more important than accounting for higher-order terms in the
potential when calculating material properties. In the scope of the long-term tidal evolution of the semimajor axis and the
component spin rates, correcting for close orbits is a small effect, but for an instantaneous rate of change in spin rate,
semimajor axis, or mean motion, the close-orbit correction can be on the order of tens of percent. This work has possible

Arecibo (2380 MHz, 12.6 cm) and Goldstone (8560 MHz, 3.5 cm) delay-Doppler radar images obtained in July and August of 2000 reveal that 4486 Mithra is an irregular, significantly bifurcated object, with a central valley ∼380 m deep and a long axis potentially exceeding 2 km. With its bimodal appearance, Mithra is a strong candidate for a contact binary asteroid. Sequences of Goldstone images spanning up to 3 h per day show very little rotation and establish that Mithra is an unusually slow rotator. We used Goldstone and Arecibo data to estimate Mithra’s 3D shape and spin state. We obtain prograde (λ = 337°, β = 19°) and retrograde (λ = 154°, β = −19°) models that give comparable fits, have very similar shapes roughly resembling an hourglass, and have a rotation period of 67.5 ± 6.0 h. The dimensions of these two models are very similar; for the prograde solution the maximum dimensions are X = 2.35 ± 0.15 km, Y = 1.65 ± 0.10 km, Z = 1.44 ± 0.10 km. Dynamical analysis of our models suggests that in the past, Mithra most likely went through a period of even slower rotation with its obliquity close to 90°. The spin rate is predicted to be increasing due to thermal torque (YORP), while the obliquity, which is currently +68° and +106° for the prograde and retrograde models, respectively, is predicted to move away from 90°. 相似文献

Near-Earth Asteroid (29075) 1950 DA may closely encounter Earth in 2880. The probability of Earth impact may be as high as 1/300, but the outcome of the encounter depends critically on the physical properties of the asteroid [Giorgini et al., 2002. Science 196, 132-136]. We have used Arecibo and Goldstone radar data and optical lightcurves to estimate the shape, spin state, and surface structure of 1950 DA. The data allow two distinct models. One rotates prograde and is roughly spheroidal with mean diameter 1.16±0.12 km. The other rotates retrograde and is oblate and about 30% larger. Both models suggest a nickel-iron or enstatite chondritic composition. Ground-based observations should be able to determine which model is correct within the next several decades. 相似文献

Arecibo (2380 MHz, 13 cm) radar observations of 2005 CR37 provide detailed images of a candidate contact binary: a 1.8-km-long, extremely bifurcated object. Although the asteroid's two lobes are round, there are regions of modest topographic relief, such as an elevated, 200-m-wide facet, that suggest that the lobes are geologically more complex than either coherent fragments or homogeneous rubble piles. Understanding the processes at the origin of explosive events is crucial for volcanic hazard mitigation, especially during long-lasting eruptions at andesitic volcanoes. This work exposes the case of Tungurahua volcano, whose unrest occurred in 1999. Since this date, the eruptive activity was characterized by low-to moderate explosiveness, including phases with stronger canon-like explosions and regional ash fallout. However, in 2006, a sudden increase of the explosiveness led to pyroclastic flow-forming eruptions on July 14th (VEI 2) and August 16–17th (VEI 3). All magmas emitted from 1999 to 2005, as well as the samples from the 2006 eruptions, have homogeneous bulk-rock andesitic compositions (58–59 wt.% SiO2), and contain the same mineral assemblage consisting of pl + cpx + opx + mag ± ol. However, during the August 16–17th event, the erupted tephra comprise two types of magmas: a dominant, brown andesitic scoria; and scarce, light-grey pumice representing a subordinate, silica-rich juvenile component. For the andesitic magma, thermobarometric data point to magmatic temperatures ranging from 950 to 1015 °C and pressures in the range of 200 to 250 MPa, which corresponds to 7.5–9.5 km below the summit. Disequilibrium textures in plagioclase and pyroxene phenocrysts, particularly thin overgrowth rims, indicate the recharge of this magma body by mafic magma. Between 1999 and 2005, repeated injections from depth fed the intermittent eruptive activity observed while silica-rich melts were produced by in-situ crystallization in the peripheral parts of the reservoir. In April 2006, the recharge of a primitive magma produced strong convection and homogenisation in the reservoir, as well as pressure increase and higher magma ascent rate after seven years of only moderately explosive activity. This work emphasizes the importance of petrological studies in constraining the pre-eruptive magmatic conditions and processes, as a tool for understanding the fundamental causes of the changes in the eruptive dynamism, particularly the occurrence of paroxysmal phases in andesitic systems with open-vent behaviour. 相似文献

A multi-imaging strategy is proposed and experimentally tested to improve the accuracy of photon counting with an electron multiplying CCD (EMCCD), by taking into account the random nature of its on-chip gain and the possibility of multiple photodetection events on one pixel. This strategy is based on Bayesian estimation on each image, with a priori information given by the sum of the images. The method works even for images with large dynamic range, with more improvement in the low light level areas. In these areas, two thirds of the variance added by the EMCCD in a conventional imaging mode are removed, making the physical photon noise predominant in the detected image. 相似文献

This paper presents an assessment of SARAL/AltiKa satellite altimeter for the monitoring of a tropical western boundary current in the south-western Pacific Ocean: the East Caledonian Current. We compare surface geostrophic current estimates obtained from two versions of AltiKa along-track sea level height (AVISO 1 Hz and PEACHI 40 Hz) with two kinds of dedicated in situ datasets harvested along the satellite ground tracks: one deep-ocean current-meter mooring deployed in the core of the boundary current and five glider transects. It is concluded that the AltiKa-derived current successfully captures the velocity of the boundary current, with a standard error of 11 cm/s with respect to the in situ data. It also appears important to reference AltiKa sea level anomaly to the latest mean dynamic topography available in our area. Doing so, Ka-band altimetry provides a satisfactory representation of the western boundary current. Thereby, it usefully contributes to observing its variability in such a remote and under-observed ocean region. However, the rather long repeat period of SARAL (35 days) in comparison to the high frequency variability seen in the flow velocity of the boundary current calls for a combined use of SARAL with the other satellite altimetry missions. 相似文献

The solubility of synthetic NdPO4 monazite end-member was experimentally determined from 300 up to 800 °C, at 2000 bars in pure water, and in aqueous chloride or phosphate solutions. Both the classical weight-loss method and a new method based on isotope dilution coupled with thermal ionization mass spectrometer were used. In the range of temperature studied monazite showed a prograde solubility from 10−5.4 m at 300 °C up to 10−2.57 m at 800 °C.
