On the basis of the first images of certain areas of Lunar surface obtained by the Chang??e-2 spacecraft and materials of large-scale image acquisition from the LRO (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter) spacecraft, supplemented with remote spectral measurements performed from the Clementine spacecraft, the slope movements of material have been studied in lunar craters Daniell, Burg and Mauri A. It is established that despite a significantly different age of formation of these craters, the slope formations are of similar structure and differ by increased iron abundance in the soil surface layer. All objects are characterized with by increase in FeO abundance to 20 wt % at depths of several hundred meters from the surface. The material of the slope structures is distinguished by a low maturity rate. According to preliminary assessments using the optical maturity index and spectropolarimetric maturity index, the fresher slope formations can have an exposure age from several tens of years to several years.  相似文献

The records of the Tohoku tsunami of March 11, 2011, obtained at the nearest Deep-Ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis (DART) stations and the coastal telemetric recorders of the Russian Tsunami Warning System, are analyzed. Such parameters as tsunami arrival times, heights of the first and maximal waves, and predominant periods are presented. The eyewitness accounts and photographs of tsunami effects are presented. The tsunami height distribution along the coast of Kuril Islands is discussed.  相似文献

At present, the concept of plate tectonics is predominant in the Earth sciences. However, there are also other, less popular ideas concerning the geodynamics of the Earth’s crust/lithosphere. The highly accurate modern geodetic measurements such as GPS, SLR, and VLBI provide a new framework for assessing different standpoints. The results of global-scale geodetic measurements are in close agreement with the global plate tectonic reconstructions. However, the same measurements of regional networks in the Mediterranean part of the Alpine-Indonesian Mobile Belt yield results that disagree with the plate’s tectonic reconstructions for this region. These measurements show that the belt’s width in many areas of Eurasian and African lithospheric plates’ convergence is not decreasing at present, as follows from the plate reconstructions, but increasing. At the same time, the segments of the belt under consideration are in a state of stress characterized by near-horizontal compression oriented across the strike of the belt. This contradiction can only be explained if it is assumed that the formation of the tectonic structure of the mobile belt is related to the active growth of the volume of the bedded rocks of the belt, i.e., of the plate’s convergence zone. This growth is apparently due to the additional mineral material gained by the ascending mantle fluid flows. This implies that local, autonomous dynamic processes are required in addition to the lithospheric plate’s interactions to account for the tectonic deformations observed in the mobile belt.  相似文献

The ice drift data obtained with the Furuno radar using a special methodology simultaneously at seven fixed points around the Molikpaq oil-drilling platform on the northeastern shelf of Sakhalin Island in the period from May 14 to 28, 2003 are analyzed. It is shown that at different distances from the shore significant variations are observed both in the alongshore and, especially, transverse components of the tidal seaice drift, which are responsible for the ice cover deformation, whose indices are of a substantial magnitude. The divergence has the maximum positive values (the ice opening is observed) at comparatively low drift velocities of southern bearings soon after the tidal flow direction changed. The ice cover compression was accordingly observed under opposite conditions. The dependence of deformation indices on the tidal cycle phase is well agreed with the results earlier obtained at the coastal Odoptu radar station (RS), where the measurements were carried out using a similar methodology under alike physico-geographic conditions. A steady character of the results obtained allows forecasting the tide-induced ice cover extension and compression, which is of a practical value for providing the ship operations in the region of the Molikpaq platform in the ice season.  相似文献

The vertical fluxes of phytoplankton (VFPhyto) and particulate organic carbon (VFPOC) in the White Sea were determined using seven long-term (292 to 296 days) sediment traps moored at five stations at 67–255 m depths. The annual VFPhyto and VFPOC ranged from 0.55 to 24.64 g C/m2 and from 3.7 to 93.9 g C/m2, respectively. The highest VFPhyto was observed in the Basin region located close to the Gorlo along the Tersk coast. The algal biomass accounted for 15–43% of the VFPOC. Diatoms comprised the most important group, accounting for 83–100% in the sedimented biomass. Thalassiosira nordenskioeldii dominated in the VFPhyto at all the stations except for the station in the basin close to Onega Bay, where Ditylum brightwellii was the most abundant.  相似文献

Seasonal variations of hydrological conditions in the area adjoining the southeastern coast of Sakhalin Island are described based on the analysis of monthly mean temperature and salinity obtained over standard oceanic sections Makarov-Cape Georgii and Cape Svobodny-the sea and from nine oceanic surveys. The Poronai River runoff that promotes the formation of a warm surface layer with low salinity largely influences the water area of Terpeniya Bay in the northern part of the area studied. In spring, these waters primarily spread southward along the coast; in summer, they flow southeastward, forming a weak vortex structure at 144° E. In the fall, major changes occur below 20 m, where waters of the cold intermediate layer are replaced by warmer waters (4–6°C) of low salinity connected with the Amur River runoff. The destruction of the CIL core near the shelf edge at depths of about 100 m resulting from the fall intensification of the East Sakhalin Current is pronounced in the southern, abyssal part of the region. The coastal area is covered by waters with salinity below 32‰ connected with the Amur River runoff. The volume of low-salinity waters coming through the Cape Svobodny-the sea section into the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk is estimated at 3000 km3 taking into account instrumental measurements of flow rates.  相似文献

The November 16, 2006, Simushir and August 2, 2007, Nevelsk tsunami records obtained by bottom pressure gauges in Kholmsk Bay are analyzed. The dominant role of the zero mode of eigen oscillations in the bay during the the wave field formation is shown: in the initial record interval (for the remote tsunami source) and 1.5 h after the first wave (for the nearly tsunami). Numerical modeling showed that the longer waves propagated toward Kholmsk in the case of the Nevelsk earthquake and they did not generate eigen oscillations of the bay. These oscillations were generated 1.5 h later when the shorter waves reflected from the Primorye coast arrived.  相似文献
