Surface soils from the Chengdu Economic Region (CER) were analyzed for sixteen United States Environment Protection Agency priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) to study the spatial distribution and to identify the sources of PAHs. Relatively high concentrations (more than 1500 ngg− 1) of high molecular weight PAHs were found in Chengdu Plain, in the middle of CER, while high concentrations (more than 500 ng g− 1) of low molecular weight PAHs were detected in the surrounding mountains. The concentrations of ∑16-PAHs in topsoil samples from CER (12.52–75,431.47 ngg− 1, average value was 3233.92 ngg− 1) were higher than that from the southern China (21.91–3077 ngg− 1, average value was less than 500 ngg− 1), and they were comparable to concentrations in soils from the northern China (366–254,080 ngg− 1, mean value was more than 3000 ngg− 1). The concentrations from CER were also much higher than the concentrations of some world clean regions such as Antarctic (34.9–171 ngg− 1), European high mountains (9–11,000 ngg− 1, mean value was 158 ngg− 1) and some Europe residential (736 ngg− 1) and arable soils (60–145 ngg− 1, mean value was 66 ngg− 1). The ratio of tracer compounds (BaA/(BaA + Chr), Flo/(Flo + Pyr), and IcdP/(IcdP + BghiP)) indicated that the high concentrations of PAHs in soils were mainly derived from fossil fuels combustion in mountain region and from the incomplete combustion of petroleum in developed plain area (such as Chengdu and Deyang). From the above distribution characteristics and ratios of tracer compounds, we inferred the reasons for the distribution pattern of PAHs in CER were the domestic heating, emissions, and the physicochemical properties of PAHs. 相似文献

Cropland displacement, as an important characteristic of cropland change, places more emphasis on changes in spatial location than on quantity. The effects of cropland displacement on global and regional food production are of general concern in the context of urban expansion. Few studies have explored scale-effects, however, where cropland is displaced not only within, but also outside, the administrative boundary of a certain region. This study used a spatially explicit model (LANDSCAPE) to simulate the potential cropland displacement caused by urban land expansion from 2020 to 2040 at four scales of the Chinese administration system (national, provincial, municipal, and county levels). The corresponding changes in potential cereal production were then assessed by combining cereal productivity data. The results show that 4700 km2 of cropland will be occupied by urban expansion by 2040, and the same amount of cropland will be supplemented by forest, grassland, wetland, and unused land. The potential loss of cropland will result in the loss of 3.838×106 tons of cereal production, and the additional cropland will bring 3.546×106 tons, 3.831×106 tons, 3.836×106 tons, and 3.528×106 tons of potential cereal production in SN (national scale), SP (provincial scale), SM (municipal scale), and SC (county scale), respectively. Both SN and SC are observed to make a huge difference in cereal productivity between the lost and the supplemented cropland. In recent years, a large number of bank destruction occur in the reservoir area under the effect of water fluctuation, which may be lead to reservoir accumulative landslide geological hazards finally. The paper conducted the bank destruction forecasting study for accumulative landslides in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region, China utilizing back-propagation (BP) neural network approach. A representative scenario of Jinle landslide is then taken for analysis purposes. On the basis of the existing data sets of bank destruction cases, the BP neural network forecasting model and the corresponding programs for bank destruction are both presented, whose forecasting result is validated by two independent approaches, namely empirical method and numerical modeling method. Furthermore, the BP neural network model had obvious advantages over the convention approaches in the aspects of the fast calculation speed and high convenience. According to the bank destruction forecasting scale presented above, the corresponding revetment measures can be proposed to prevent the occurring of the bank destruction, whose effectiveness has been further validated by the actual engineering practice. 相似文献

Field monitoring and deformation characteristics of a landslide with piles in the Three Gorges Reservoir area 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Landslides often occur within the reservoir area behind dams. In China, a common strategy for stabilizing these landslides is to install large piles through the landslide and into the stable ground below. The piles interact with the landslide and constitute a landslide-stabilizing pile system. The deformation of this system under the reservoir operation is more complicated than the deformation of the landslide itself. Understanding the behaviour of this system is very important to the long-term safety of landslides stabilized with piles in reservoirs. The Majiagou landslide, which was selected as a case study, was triggered by the first impoundment of the reservoir behind the Three Gorges dam. A row of anti-slide piles was installed in the landslide in 2007, but monitoring results found these were ineffective at stabilizing the landslide. Subsequently, in 2011, two longer test piles and an integrated monitoring system were installed in the landslide to better understand the failure mode of the landslide and to measure the deformation characteristics of the landslide-stabilizing pile system. Monitoring results show that the Majiagou landslide is a translational landslide with three slip surfaces. The test piles provided local resistance and partially slowed down the sliding mass behind the piles, and the landslide deformation response to external factors decreased for a time. However, after 2 years, the deformation of the landslide-stabilizing pile system reverted to seasonal stepwise cumulative displacements influenced by cycles of reservoir drawdown and rainfall. The monitoring results provide fundamental data for evaluating the long-term performance of anti-slide piles and for assessing long-term stability of the stabilized landslide under the reservoir operation. 相似文献
