Abstract. There have been two primary sources for industrial indium; one from massive sulfides, while the other is dissemination-veins and skarns, related to felsic igneous rocks. The latter group of the In-bearing deposits is abundant in the Japanese Islands. Indium occurs as In-minerals such as sakuraiite, roquesite, laforetite and many unidentified minerals, but the majority is contained as an impurity in sphalerite, and tin and copper sulfides. Average grades of the ores from which indium has been extracted vary from a few ppm (e.g., Kosaka mine) to more than 300 ppm (Toyoha mine). The amount of indium in all the major basemetal deposits is estimated by analyzing representative samples. The main indium deposits are subvolcanic and tin-poly-metallic vein types. The largest one is Toyoha mine (4,700 tons hi) and the Ashio mine (ca. 1,200 tons In) was found to be the second largest. Many small occurrences, were recognized in the Miocene magnetite-series belt, besides the classic occurrences in the ilmenite-series granitic terrains of SW Japan, including the Ikuno and Akenobe tin(-tungsten) polymetallic veins, located in the northern margin of the late Cretaceous Sanyo ilmenite-series province. Magnetite-series magmas with deep source are necessary to concentrate sulfur in the magma chamber but sedimentary source rocks and their reducing agents are needed to collect and to precipitate indium. The Japanese islands are essentially accretionary terrains intruded by various deep oxidized magmas; thus forming magnetite/ilmenite-series paired belts, which are sometimes mixed. This unique geologic setting may be the most fundamental reason why indium is rich in vein-type deposits of the Japanese Island arcs.  相似文献

Large earthquakes along the Kuril subduction zone in northern Japan are known to have caused damaging tsunami, although there is a little information on historical earthquakes and tsunami in this area because no documents exist before the 19th century that might refer to tsunami events. To determine the likely timing and size of future events we need information on their recurrence intervals and to do this for the prehistoric past we have investigated sediments located in the Kiritappu marsh in eastern Hokaido that we interpret as laid down by tsunami. Using reliable multiple lines of evidence from sedimentological, geomorphological, micropaleontological, and chronological results, we identify 13 tsunami sands. Two of these lie within a peat bed above a historical tephra, Ta-a (AD 1739); the upper one probably corresponds to the AD 1843 Tempo Tokachi-oki earthquake (M 8.2) tsunami, and the lower to either the AD 1952 Tokachi-oki earthquake (M 8.2) tsunami or the AD 1960 Chilean earthquake (M 9.5) tsunami. Underlying are 11 prehistoric tsunami sand beds (nine large sand beds and two smaller sand beds) deposited during the past 4000 years. Because of the wide spatial distribution of the large sand beds, and inundation distances inland of between 1200 to 3000 m, we suggest that they record unusually large tsunamis along the Kuril subduction zone. According to our analyses, these tsunami sands were derived from the coastal area and, although they do not show clear graded bedding, they commonly have gradational upper boundaries and erosional bases and include internal sedimentary structures such as plane beds, dunes, and current ripples, reflecting bedload transportation. Based on our results we calculate the recurrence interval of unusually large earthquakes (probably M 8.6) along the Kuril subduction zone as about 365–553 years and estimate the youngest large event to have occurred in the 17th century.  相似文献

近断层地震动的向前方向性效应和永久地面位移效应导致其速度时程表现为长周期、大峰值的速度脉冲,其位移时程表现为阶跃型脉冲. 针对这些特点,同时考虑向前方向性效应和永久地面位移效应,提出了一种简单的、连续函数形式表达的等效速度脉冲模型. 在该模型中,包含描述速度脉冲周期、峰值和形状的5个待定参数,方便了实际脉冲型地震记录的拟合及模拟. 等效速度脉冲模型只包含单一的频率成分,不能反映脉冲型地震记录的高频成分. 根据对11次地震28条地震记录的分析, 速度脉冲的频率一般小于1Hz. 因此, 在模拟脉冲型地震记录的方法中,分别模拟低频脉冲成分和高频成分,并将两者叠加生成近断层脉冲型地震动的模拟时程.   相似文献

“山东省文登-荣成-威海地区深部地热资源调查”项目是“山东省2018年度38个省直地质勘查项目”之一,总体目标是通过小口径深部钻探技术来完成3000 m测温孔的施工,为地热地质调查、钻孔测温、岩心热物性及放射性元素含量测试等工作提供通道和具体实物资料。本文结合3000 m小口径地热探孔的施工进程,系统介绍了该深孔的钻孔结构、施工设备、钻探工艺方法及关键技术等内容,重点针对严重破碎带、高应力复杂地层条件的泥浆技术、深孔钻头技术等展开了试验对比和分析研究,采取针对性技术措施,成功地解决了孔内复杂难题,配套研究的长寿命高效钻头提高了钻孔施工效率,减少了钻探成本投入。论文还探讨了深孔地热钻探的“现场标准化建设和绿色施工”管理方法。  相似文献

A large number of gases are releasing from the medium-high temperature geothermal fields distributed along the large-scale strike-slip fault zones in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau.In this study,11 hot spring water and the associated bubbling gas samples were collected along the Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zones(XSH-ANHFZ)and analyzed for chemical and isotopic compositions.The δ18H_(2O) and δDH_(2O) values indicate that hot spring waters are predominantly meteoric origin recharged from different altitudes.Most water samples are significantly enriched in Na+ and HCO3 due to the dissolution of regional evaporites,carbonates and Na-silicates.3He/4He ratios of the gas samples are 0.025-2.73 times the atmospheric value.The 3He/4He ratios are high in the Kangding region where the dense faults are distributed,and gradually decrease with increasing distance from Kangding towards both sides along the Xianshuihe fault zones(XSHFZ).Hydrothermal fluids have dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)concentrations from 2 to 42 mmol L-113CDIC from -6.9‰ to 1.3‰,δ13CCO_(2) from -7.2‰ to -3.6‰ and Δ14C from -997‰ to -909‰.Combining regional geochemical and geological information,the CO2sources can be attributed to deep-sourced CO2from mantle and metamorphism of marine carbonate,and shallow-sourced CO2from the dissolution of marine carbonate and biogenic CO2.The mass balance model shows that 11±6% of the DIC is sourced from the dissolution of shallow carbonate minerals,9±8% formed by pyrolysis of sedimentary organic matter,80±9% derived from deep metamorphic origin and mantle-derived CO2.Among them,the deep-sourced CO2in Anninghe fault zones(ANHFZ)is merely metamorphic carbon,whereas ca.12% and ca.88% of the deep-sourced CO2in the XSHFZ are derived from the mantle and metamorphic carbon,respectively.The average deep-sourced CO2flux in the Kangding geothermal field is estimated to be 160 ta-1.If all the hot springs in various fault zones in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau are taken into account,the regional deep-sourced CO2flux would reach ca.105 ta-1.These results show that the deep-sourced CO2released from nonvolcanic areas might account for a considerable proportion of the total amount of global deep-sourced carbon degassing,which should be paid more attention to.  相似文献

Current measurements made with a Doppler Current Profiler were taken along cross sections in the Obatake Seto Strait, a small strait in the western part of the Seto Inland Sea.The energy loss between two cross sections of the strait was estimated using the control volume analysis of the stationary one-dimensional energy equation. The large energy loss observed in the strait cannot be explained in terms of general bottom friction in the coastal region. The loss is attributed to the form loss, which is accompanied by internal turbulence and vortices generated by the specific topography of the strait, in addition to the loss by friction. This is supported by the fact that the energy loss in the strait differs, depending upon the current direction.  相似文献

The first CO2 exposure experiments on several species of pelagic copepods inhabiting surface and deep layers in the western North Pacific were conducted. Living organisms were collected from two layers between the surface and 1,500 m between latitudes of 11 and 44°N, and they were exposed aboard ship to various pCO2 up to about 98,000 μatm. Mortality of copepods from both shallow and deep layers in subarctic to subtropical regions increased with increasing pCO2 and exposure time. Deep-living copepods showed higher tolerance to pCO2 than shallow-living copepods. Furthermore, deep-living copepods from subarctic and transitional regions had higher tolerances than the subtropical copepods. The higher tolerances of the deep-living copepods from subarctic and transitional regions may be due to the adaptation to the natural pCO2 conditions in the subarctic ocean.  相似文献

Sample preparation protocols for flow cytometry (FCM) analysis with five algal viruses were optimized: Heterocapsa circularisquama virus (HcV), Heterosigma akashiwo virus (HaV), Chaetoceros salsugineum nuclear inclusion virus (CsNIV), Rhizosolenia setigera RNA virus (RsRNAV) and H. circularisquama RNA virus (HcRNAV). The optimum staining protocols differed significantly among the viruses tested. FCM counts for the large DNA algal viruses HaV and HcV (∼0.2 μm in diameter) were similar to numbers determined by epifluorescence microscopy (EFM). In contrast, FCM counts of viruses smaller than 40 nm that harbor DNA (CsNIV) or RNA genomes (RsRNAV, HcRNAV) were comparable to or lower than most probable number (MPN) values, which indicate only infectious virus number, suggesting that the FCM counts were underestimates. This is presumably because their single particle fluorescence signals were below the detection limit for the flow cytometer. These results indicate that a large portion of the smaller viruses in the aquatic plankton virus community may be overlooked by FCM.  相似文献

As part of the research program WEST-COSMIC Phase I (1997–2001), vertical profiles down to the greater depths (0–2000 m or 5800 m) of the plankton community structure composed of heterotrophic bacteria, phytoplankton, protozooplankton and metazooplankton were studied at one station in each subarctic (44°N) and in transitional region (39°N), and two stations in subtropical region (30°N and 25°N); all in 137–155°E in the western North Pacific Ocean. The biomass of all four taxonomic groups decreased rapidly with increasing depths at all stations, although the magnitude of depth-related decrease differed among the groups. As plankton community structure, metazooplankton biomass and bacterial biomass occupied >50% of the total in 0–2000 and 2000–4000 or 5000 m strata, respectively, at subarctic and transitional stations, while bacterial biomass contributed to >50% of the total consistently from 0 through 4800 or 5800 m at subtropical stations. Metazooplankton biomass integrated over the greater depths exhibited a clear latitudinal pattern (high north and low south), but this was not the case for those of the other taxonomic groups. As a component of metazooplankton, an appreciable contribution of diapausing copepods to the metazooplankton was noted at subarctic and transitional stations, but they were few or nil at subtropical stations. As protozooplankton assemblages, heterotrophic microflagellates (HMF) and dinoflagellates were two major components at subarctic and transitional stations, but were only HMF predominated at subtropical stations. From biomass ratios between heterotrophic bacteria, HMF and dinoflagellates, “sinking POC-DOC-heterotrophic bacteria-HMF-heterotrophic dinoflagellates” link was proposed as a microbial food chain operative in the deep layer of the western North Pacific. All results are discussed in the light of latitudinal differences in the structure and functioning of plankton community contributing to the ‘biological pump’ in the western North Pacific Ocean. The distribution of phototrophic bacteria was investigated during the summers of 1969 and 1970 in Omura Bay of western Kyushu. Phototrophic sulfur- and nonsulfur-bacteria were distributed numerously in the mud and bottom water. Brown strains usually dominated in number. In water column, other than bottom water, there were usually few or no phototrophic bacteria. On occasion, however, a large number of brown bacteria were found in the middle of water column. Six strains, two each of the purple, green and brown bacterial colonies, were isolated from mud and sea water. The purple and green bacterial strains were identified as belonging to the generaChromatium andChlorobium, respectively. The brown strains could not be identified using Bergey's manual, but were found to be similar to the brownChlorobium described byPfennig. All six strains required sulfide for growth. Heterotrophic tendency was greater for the purple and green strains than for the brown strains. Their growth was enhanced by the addition of thymine. Living cells, taken from enrichment cultures of mud samples from four stations, gave absorption spectra almost identical to the spectrum of brownChlorobium. Thus it appears that during the summer brownChlorobium is the dominant phototrophic bacterial group in Omura Bay.  相似文献
