Summary The electric conductivity of basaltic rocks of the final volcanic phase of the Alpine-Carpathian orogenesis was studied in the temperature interval of 200–1000°C. The results obtained are compared with the chemical and modal composition of the rocks and with the content of trace elements (Cr, Co, Ni, V). The statistical treatment of a set of 11 rocks types indicated that the electric conductivity is mostly affected by the modal composition of the rock in the temperature interval of 200–600°C, whereas the effect of trace elements can be seen distinctly in the interval of 600–1000°C. 相似文献

Summary A new approximation of the velocity-depth distribution in a vertically inhomogeneous medium is suggested. This approximation guarantees the continuity of velocity and of its first and second derivatives and does not generate false low-velocity zones. It is very suitable for the computations of seismic wave fields in vertically inhomogeneous media by ray methods and its modifications, as it removes many false anomalies from the travel-time and amplitude-distance curves of seismic body waves. The ray integrals can be evaluated in a closed form; the resulting formulae for rays, travel times and geometrical spreading are very simple. They do not contain any transcendental functions (such asln (x) orsin
–1, (x)) like other approximations; only the evaluation of one square root and of certain simple arithmetic expressions for each layer is required. Summary Media with a distinct anisotropy make application of the refraction method for seismic exploration rather complicated. Velocity data obtained by seismic shooting, sonic log and laboratory measurements of borehole cores have been studied in the region of the Bohemian Cretaceous and interpretation problems of refraction have been analysed. Summary A computational method (based on finite differences) is proposed for the seismic response analysis of the Earth's structures. The method is applied to the earth fill and the sedimentary basin. It was found that the lateral inhomogeneity of non-absorbing structures caused remarkable effects on synthetic seismograms, viz. strong horizontal reflections at later arrivals. In absorbing structures these effects are much less pronounced and the response is determined primarily by the variable thickness of the structures. The responses of structures with non-causal or causal absorption differ only slightly, but they are strongly influenced by the magnitude of the absorption itself. 相似文献

The top five centimeters of sediment collected at the deepest point of Lake Léman (Switzerland), 309 meters below water level, contain concentrations of 5α(H)-cholestan-3α-ol (epicholestanol) up to 10% of the total sterol content. Isobutane chemical ionization mass spectrometry and coinjection with an authentic standard on a SP-1000 glass capillary column were used in order to successfully characterize this epimer of cholestanol.The distribution of this stanol throughout the sediment core studied suggests in situ bacterial production. The change in concentration of epicholestanol with depth is different from those found for other C27 stanols, such as cholestanol or coprostanol. It is probably the result of a change in the bacterial fauna in the most recently deposited sediment, related to the increasing eutrophication of the lake rather than the consequence of its lower stability due to the axial conformation of the OH substituent. 相似文献
