In the area of archaeological excavations that were performed prior to the construction of Main Road No. 86 in Vas County (West Hungary) in the Alpine foreland new geoarchaeological analyses have been conducted. We used anthracology and pollen analyses to reconstruct the former vegetation cover at the study site. Charcoal data provide site-related information about the local woodland composition, management and human impact, while pollen data provide information on the arboreal and non-arboreal vegetation on a regional or local scale. Adequate samples for anthracological analyses derive from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Imperial and Migration Periods and Middle-Ages archaeological objects. The core for pollen analyses originates from alluvial sediments of the Borzó Creek and covers the late Pleistocene and the Holocene until the Medieval Period. Charcoal analyses show the dominance of Quercus trees in the vicinity of the human settlements that might indicate a strong human selection, or the fragmentation of samples. Pollen analyses indicate thermophilous vegetation from the beginning of the Holocene, with increasing values of Fagus and Carpinus. Pollens of cereals indicate human activity, which is also demonstrated by the presence of pollen from Juglans and Vitis in the Iron Age sequence. Extensive forest clearance occurred in the Late Iron Age and the Imperial Period.  相似文献

In this paper, the results of an oedometric numerical test campaign, performed by means of a 3D Discrete Element Code on idealised cemented granular cylindrical specimens, are illustrated. The idealised microstructure taken into account is characterised by the following: (i) rigid grains bonded to one another; (ii) a high void ratio; and (iii) two different families of voids: the micro and the macro‐voids. The compaction process developing within the specimens, as well as the localization along tabular zones of pure compressive deformation (compaction banding) that in some cases takes place, are discussed. The influence on the evolution of this peculiar strain localization process of many microstructural/numerical parameters like material porosity, macro‐void size, the constitutive relationship adopted for the bonds and the bond damage rate is analysed. Tests for different values of porosity were run. Below a certain porosity threshold value, the onset of mixed modes of localisation was detected whereas the increase in the macro‐void size is observed to favour the onset of instability. In this paper, the pull-out performance of an innovative system for soil anchoring is mechanically interpreted on the basis of a preliminary finite element investigation. The system consists of a tie rod equipped with thick steel sockets, extruding into the soil to increase the overall pull-out bearing capacity. The effectiveness of the anchorage is shown to be mainly due to the steel sockets, producing two correlated strength mechanisms: a direct one, associated with the shear/flexural strength of the sockets themselves; and an indirect one, in the form of a remarkable increase in the normal confinement on the tie rod and hence in the mobilizable shear stresses. The numerical results are finally exploited to conceive a simplified mechanical model for the interpretation/prediction of the pull-out anchor performance.  相似文献

Detailed gravity data in conjunction with available surface geology are analyzed to infer the organization of the underlying structures in Jendouba area. Gravity data analysis benefits from the gravity Bouguer anomaly, upward continuations, residual distribution, derivatives and Euler deconvolved maps. The main results display a positive amplitude gravity anomaly as the response of Triassic evaporitic bodies and important NE trending features at the boundaries between the Triassic outcrops and their enveloping strata. Integration of gravity, geological and structural maps let to the identification of major structural directions and trends of the study area. It confirms some structural elements gathered from outcrops. It defines also new ones.  相似文献

A comparative study on two interpolator methods for Bouguer anomaly mapping was performed in the El Kef-Ouargha region, Tunisia. In particular, we compare the results of minimum curvature gridding and kriging. We undertake a geostatistical study using both anisotropic and isotropic analysis for studding the spatial variability and kriging the random variable: “Bouguer anomaly”. The model parameters of each method are calculated to compare the results. The anisotropic analysis most closely approximates the measured data. Consequentially, the Bouguer anomaly and vertical gradient maps using anisotropic kriging have the best correlation with the geological map, best represent density distributions at depth and most closely approximate the measured anomaly amplitudes.  相似文献

Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), widely used for their hydro-oil repellent properties, are almost non-degradable in the environment; there is scientific evidence that indicate bioaccumulation. They represent a threat to many organisms, because they are toxic and are endocrine disruptors. Scientific studies have demonstrated the presence of PFCs in blood and liver samples of fish, turtles, birds and mammals of marine ecosystems in different geographical areas. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution of PFOS and PFOA in blood samples of the marine turtle Caretta caretta, using a minimally invasive sampling procedure. 49 blood samples of marine turtle, taken from several Italian marine turtle rescue centers, were analyzed. While PFOA was never detected, measurable concentrations of PFOS were found in 15 blood samples; the values show a range from 1.14 ng/g to 28.51 ng/g (wet wt.). No differences between groups of samples taken from different areas were found.  相似文献

This paper reappraises Perzyna-type viscoplasticity for the constitutive modelling of granular geomaterials, with emphasis on the simulation of rate/time effects of different magnitude. An existing elasto-plastic model for sands is first recast into a Perzyna viscoplastic formulation and then calibrated/validated against laboratory test results on Hostun sand from the literature. Notable model features include (1) enhanced definition of the viscous nucleus function and (2) void ratio dependence of stiffness and viscous parameters, to model the pycnotropic behaviour of granular materials with a single set of parameters, uniquely identified against standard creep and triaxial test results. The comparison between experimental data and numerical simulations points out the predicative capability of the developed model and the complexity of defining a unique viscous nucleus function to capture sand behaviour under different loading/initial/boundary and drainage conditions. It is concluded that the unified viscoplastic simulation of both drained and undrained response is particularly challenging within Perzyna's framework and opens to future research in the area. The discussion presented is relevant, for instance, to the simulation of multiphase strain localisation phenomena, such as those associated to slope stability problems in variably saturated soils.  相似文献

In this paper, steady-state conditions for ideal monodisperse dry granular materials are both theoretically and numerically analysed. A series of discrete element (DEM) numerical simulations have been performed on a periodic cell by imposing stress paths characterized by different Lode angles, pressures, and deviatoric strain rates. The dependence of the material response on both inertial number and loading path has been discussed in terms of void ratio, fabric, and granular temperature. DEM numerical results have been finally compared with the prediction of an already conceived model based on both kinetic and critical state theories, here suitably modified to account for three-dimensional conditions.  相似文献
