The Halahatang Depression in the Tabei Uplift of the Tarim basin is an active exploration area because it has substantial reservoir potential and contains or is near to many commercial oil fields. Geochemical analysis indicates that Halahatang oils were derived from marine carbonate source rocks deposited under anoxic reducing conditions. The maturities for Halahatang oils are corresponding to the peak of the oil window and slightly higher than the neighboring Tahe oils. The Halahatang oils feature low Pr/Ph, C21/C23 tricyclic terpane and, C28/C29 sterane ratios, high C29/C30 hopane and C35/C34 hopane ratios, a “V” shape in the distribution of C27–C28–C29 steranes and light carbon isotope ratios, similar to the Tahe oils and correlate well with the Middle-Upper Ordovician source rock. However, some source-related biomarker parameters imply a more reducing source organofacies with more zooplanktonic contribution than that for the Tahe oils.  相似文献

Kimmeridgian organic-rich shales of the Madbi Formation from the Marib-Shabowah Basin in western Yemen were analysed to evaluate the type of organic matter, origin and depositional environments as well as their oil-generation potential. Results of the current study establishes the organic geochemical characteristics of the Kimmeridgian organic-rich shales and identifies the kerogen type based on their organic petrographic characteristics as observed under reflected white light and blue light excitation. Kerogen microscopy shows that the Kimmeridgian organic-rich shales contain a large amount of organic matter, consisting predominantly of yellow fluorescing alginite and amorphous organic matter with marine-microfossils (e.g., dinoflagellate cysts and micro-foraminiferal linings). Terrigenous organic matters (e.g., vitrinite, spores and pollen) are also present in low quantities. The high contributions of marine organic matter with minor terrigenous organic matter are also confirmed by carbon isotopic values. The organic richness of the Kimmeridgian shales is mainly due to good preservation under suboxic to relatively anoxic conditions, as indicated by the percent of numerous pyritized fragments associated with the organic matter. The biomarker parameters obtained from mass spectrometer data on m/z 191 and m/z 217 also indicate that these organic-rich shales contain mixed organic matter that were deposited in a marine environment and preserved under suboxic to relatively anoxic conditions.The Kimmeridgian organic-rich shales thus have high oil and low gas-generation potential due to oil window maturities and the nature of the organic matter, with high content of hydrogen-rich Type II and mixed Type II-III kerogens with minor contributions of Type III kerogen.  相似文献

The secondary migration of petroleum is one of the most critical geological processes responsible for the accumulation of hydrocarbons in a sedimentary basin. Pyrrolic nitrogen compounds such as carbazoles and benzocarbazoles are thought to be practical molecular indicators for estimating relative migration distances of oil. In light oils or condensates, however, considerable analytical errors are usually caused by low concentrations of NSO-compounds. Here we show that polycyclic sulfur aromatic hydrocarbons such as dibenzothiophene, C1∼C3 alkylated dibenzothiophenes and benzo[b]naphthothiophenes, which are present in relatively higher concentrations than the pyrrolic nitrogen compounds, exhibit changes in both absolute and relative concentrations that correlate with migration distances. The polycyclic sulfur aromatic hydrocarbons related parameters — benzo[b]naphtho[2,1-d]thiophene/{benzo[b]naphtho[2,1-d]thiophene + benzo[b]naphtho[1,2-d]thiophene} (abbreviated as [2,1]BNT/([2,1]BNT+[1,2]BNT) and the concentration of total dibenzothiophenes plus benzo[b]naphthothiophenes — are proposed by this paper to trace the oil migration distances.  相似文献

Thiadiamondoids have been analyzed in a suite of Smackover-derived oils from the US Gulf Coast to determine whether their abundance and distribution reflect alteration by thermochemical sulfate reduction (TSR). The sample suite includes oils and condensates having various thermal maturities that are characterized as being unaltered by TSR, altered by TSR, or of uncertain affinities due to inconsistencies between conventional geochemical indicators of TSR. Nearly all samples contain thiadiamondoids, indicating that small amounts of these compounds can be generated from sulfur rich kerogen. TSR results in the generation of H2S, sulfides and thiophenic aromatic hydrocarbons, either by reaction with sulfate or by back reactions with the evolved H2S. Evidence shows that thiadiamondoids originate exclusively from reactions involving TSR. Once generated, their high thermal stability permits thiadiamondoids to accumulate with little further reaction and their abundance reflects not only the occurrence of TSR, but the extent of the alteration. The abundance of thiaadamantanes (1-cage structures) is particularly diagnostic of the onset of TSR. Examination of condensates from reservoirs >180 °C indicates that the thiadiamondoids can be thermally degraded. They are more thermally stable than the dibenzothiophenes, but are less stable than diamondoid hydrocarbons. Their stability appears to increase with increasing cage number, suggesting that the thiatriamantanes are the best proxy for the extent of TSR alteration in very high temperature reservoirs. Polythiadiamondoids (diamondoids with multiple sulfur substitutions) were detected in trace amounts and are also indicators of TSR.  相似文献

Black shales from the southern Appalachian Basin and the southwest Welsh Basin have anomalous U–Pb and Nd model ages suggesting syn- and post-depositional resetting of the Sm–Nd and U–Pb isotopic systems. This alteration to the primary detrital signature of these two shale sequences is indicative of black shale diagenetic/depositional processes that obscure paleo-environmental and provenance information recorded prior to and during deposition. The trace element and isotopic signatures of these two shale sequences reveal a syn-/post-depositional history that is de-coupled from the coeval orogenic history of the region making it difficult to reconstruct the tectonic and oceanographic conditions present at the time of deposition.Both the Ordovivian Welsh Basin and the Devonian Appalachian Basin sequences host REE- and U-bearing diagenetic phosphate minerals that play a critical role in the whole rock REE and U budgets. In the Welsh Basin shales, early diagenetic apatite and a later monazite phase dominate the REE budget and cause the redistribution of REE early in the basin's history (ca. 460 Ma). This redistribution is recorded by the Sm–Nd system (450 ± 90 Ma) and the Nd model ages that are anomalously old by as much as 20% (TDM > 2.0 Ga). This early history is complicated by a Permo-Triassic fluid event affecting the whole rock U-budget and resetting the U–Pb isotopic system at 193 ± 45 Ma. The Appalachian Basin sequence appears to have a much less complicated history yet still records a significant disturbance in both the Sm–Nd isotopic system (392 ± 76 Ma) and the Pb isotopic system (340 ± 50 Ma) at about the time of deposition (ca. 365 Ma).These two sequences suggest a pattern of diagenetic disturbance common to black shales. These processes are unique to black shales and must be considered when interpreting provenance and paleo-environmental information from the black shale sequences. Although these rocks are susceptible to alteration, the alteration may provide extensive information on the post-depositional history of the basin while still retaining some primary depositional information. If black shale processes are considered during the interpretation of isotopic and trace element signatures from organic-rich shales, it may be possible to recover an extensive basin history.  相似文献

Geodynamic drivers for the supercontinent cycle are generally attributed to either top-down(subduction-related)or bottom-up(mantle-related)processes.Compiled geochemical data and U-Pb ages and Hf isotopic signatures for magmatic and detrital zircons from the Tarim Craton reveal a distinct change in subduction style during the Neoproterozoic.The subduction cycle is recorded in increasing and decreasing intensity of subduction-related magmatic rocks and time-equivalent sedimentary successions,and converse trends ofεHf(t)values and corresponding changes in crustal incubation time.These trends are consistent with a switch from advancing to retreating subduction.The switch likely occurred at ca.760 Ma when zirconεHf(t)values increase and crustal incubation times decrease following a transitional shift between 800 Ma and 760 Ma.A switch at this time is consistent with Rodinia breakup and may have resulted in the late Neoproterozoic Tarim rift basin.The long-lived(ca.500 Ma)subduction recorded in the Tarim Craton suggests the predominance of a top-down process for Rodinia breakup on this part of its margin.  相似文献

In this paper, an improved algorithm is proposed to separate blended seismic data. We formulate the deblending problem as a regularization problem in both common receiver domain and frequency domain. It is suitable for different kinds of coding methods such as random time delay discussed in this paper. Two basic approximation frames, which are iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm (ISTA) and fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm (FISTA), are compared. We also derive the Lipschitz constant used in approximation frames. In order to achieve a faster convergence and higher accuracy, we propose to use firm-thresholding function as the thresholding function in ISTA and FISTA. Two synthetic blended examples demonstrate that the performances of four kinds of algorithms (ISTA with soft- and firm-thresholding, FISTA with soft- and firm-thresholding) are all effective, and furthermore FISTA with a firm-thresholding operator exhibits the most robust behavior. Finally, we show one numerically blended field data example processed by FISTA with firm-thresholding function.  相似文献

After decades of research and development, Marine Controlled Source ElectroMagnetics (MCSEM) has come into the application phase for oil and gas exploration. However, presently 3D modeling of MCSEM is far from practical with simple models and much computing time. Based on a forward modeling study of 3D frequency-domain MCSEM over a complicated target body and its sensitivity analysis, we derive a method which can delineate the edges of the resistive reservoir. We use the second derivative of the magnitude versus offset (MVO) curve to define the resistive reservoir edges. For the air-wave-dominated far field zone, we suggest using the less affected apparent resistivities in order to improve the adaptability of the method.  相似文献

Hydraulic fracturing is an important technique used for developing shale gas reservoirs. Compared with multistage consecutive fracturing, multistage alternative fracturing is a more challenging technique due to the current limitations of downhole tools. This paper simulates multistage fracturing and compares the fracture geometries and fluid distributions of consecutive and alternative fracturing. It is found that simultaneous propagation of multiple fractures results in their unequal stimulations. Some perforations do not contribute to well production because their fractures are restrained. Alternative fracturing tends to create more uniform length fractures and thus achieves a greater stimulated reservoir volume than that of consecutive fracturing.  相似文献
