Selection of a Landfill Site for Solid Waste Management: An Application of AHP and Spatial Analyst Tool 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Selection of a suitable landfill site for Solid Waste Management (SWM) forms an important component of urban planning. The problem of SWM has assumed significant proportion for the municipal authorities in the wake of rapid industrialization, urbanization and resultant pressure on existing resources. Many criteria such as distance from residential locations, transport connectivity, presence of water-bodies (drains, ponds, rivers etc.) and forests, ground water table and geology are taken into consideration while planning for suitable sites. Spatial Analyst Tool along with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model is extremely useful in such multicriteria decision making process. The present study, based on these tools/techniques, endeavours to identify a suitable location for landfill site in a part of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The study identifies six potential sites out of which one has been proposed and recommended as the best suitable site. 相似文献

In order to consider the effect of anisotropy on the periods of the oscillations of the Earth, the problem of toroidal oscillations
of a transradially isotropic elastic sphere is considered. At each point, the medium is assumed to be transversely isotropic
about the radius through the point. The roots of the frequency equation are obtained for different values of the anisotropy
parameter α. It is found that, for large order oscillations, the percentage change in the frequency of the toroidal oscillations
on account of the anisotropy is nearly equal to |α-1| × 100. 相似文献

Theoretical expressions for the surface displacement and shear stress caused by a long strike-slip dislocation in an elastic
layer overlying an elastic half-space are derived and the correspondence principle is used to obtain the quasi-static response
when the half-space is Maxwell-viscoelastic. Variation of the surface displacement and shear stress with horizontal distance
is studied for various times and vertical extents of the fault. It is seen that the quasi-static response differs significantly
from the corresponding elastic response. 相似文献

The two-dimensional problem of a long displacement dislocation in a multilayered half-space is studied. Both plane strain and antiplane strain cases are considered. The Thomson-Haskell matrix method is used to obtain the static field caused by the dislocation. The source is represented in terms of the jumps at the source level in the depth-dependent factors in the Fourier integral representation of the displacements and stresses due to the source in an infinite medium. Explicit expressions for the surface displacements due to dip-slip and strike-slip faults of arbitrary dip are obtained. The formulation developed is quite convenient for numerical computation. 相似文献

Closed-form expressions for the displacements and stresses at any point of either of two elastic half-spaces in welded contact caused by a dip-slip line source obtained earlier are integrated analytically to derive the elastic residual field due to a long dip-slip fault of finite width. The results are valid for an arbitrary dip of the fault. The variation of the displacement field with the distance from the fault as well as with the distance from the interface is studied numerically. It is found that the displacement field is heavily dependent on the dip angle. Contour maps showing the residual elastic field in the two half-spaces caused by a vertical dip-slip fault located in one of the half-spaces are also obtained. 相似文献

Closed-form analytical expressions for the displacements and stresses induced by a single force of arbitrary orientation located in an elastic half-space in welded contact with another elastic half-space are obtained. These expressions are valid for arbitrary values of the Poisson's ratio and for arbitrary source and observer locations. The final results are given in a form that makes numerical computation straightforward and accurate. 相似文献

The closed-form analytic expressions for the displacement and stresses at any point of an elastic layer lying over a base
due to a very long vertical strike-slip dislocation are obtained. The interface between the layer and the base is assumed
to be either ‘smooth-rigid’ or ‘rough-rigid’ or ‘welded’. The variations of displacement and stresses with the horizontal
distance from the fault for different types of coupling of the layer with the base have been studied. It is found that the
displacement for ‘welded interface’ lies between the displacements due to ‘smooth rigid’ and ‘rough-rigid’ interfaces for
different positions of the observer and different values of the ratio of rigidities of the layer and half-space. 相似文献
