This study presents the results of the palynological and diatom analyses of the sediment core recovered in Hoton-Nur Lake (48°37′18″N, 88°20′45″E, 2083 m) in 2004. Quantitative reconstruction of the Holocene vegetation and climate dynamics in the semiarid Mongolian Altai suggests that boreal woodland replaced the primarily open landscape of northwestern Mongolia at about 10 kyr BP (1 kyr = 1000 cal yr) in response to a noticeable increase in precipitation from 200–250 mm/yr to 450–550 mm/yr. A decline of the forest vegetation and a return to a predominance of open vegetation types occurred after 5 kyr BP when precipitation sums decreased to 250–300 mm/yr. Prior to 11.5 kyr BP diatom concentrations are relatively low and the lake is dominated by planktonic Cyclotella and small Fragilariaceae, suggesting the existence of a relatively deep and oligotrophic/mesotrophic lake. The great abundance of Staurosirella pinnata from the beginning of the record until 10.7 kyr BP might imply intensified erosion processes in the catchment and this is fully consistent with the presence of scarce and dry vegetation and the generally arid climate during this period. From about 10.7 kyr BP, more planktonic diatom taxa appeared and increased in abundance, indicating that the lake became more productive as diatom concentration increased. This change correlates well with the development of boreal woodland in the catchment. Decrease in precipitation and changes in the vegetation towards steppe are reflected by the rapid increase in Aulacoseira distans from about 5 kyr BP. The Holocene pollen and diatom records do not indicate soil and vegetation cover disturbances by the anthropogenic activities, implying that the main transformations of the regional vegetation occurred as a result of the natural climate change. Our reconstruction is in agreement with the paleomonsoon records from China, demonstrating an abrupt strengthening of the summer monsoon at 12 kyr BP and an associated increase in precipitation and in lake levels between 11 and 8 kyr BP, followed by the stepwise attenuation of the monsoon circulation and climate aridization towards the modern level. The records from the neighboring areas of Kazakhstan and Russia, situated west and north of Hoton-Nur, demonstrate spatially and temporally different Holocene vegetation and climate histories, indicating that the Altai Mountains as a climate boundary are of pivotal importance for the Holocene environmental and, possibly, habitation history of Central Asia.  相似文献

In-situ benthic flux studies were conducted at three stations in Upper Galveston Bay twice during March 1996 to directly measure release rates of dissolved Mn, Fe, Ni and Zn from the sediments. Results showed reproducible increases with time in both replicate light and light–dark benthic chambers, resulting in average fluxes of −1200±780, −17±12, −1.6±0.6 and −2.4±0.79 μmol m−2 day−1 for Mn, Fe, Ni and Zn, respectively. Sediment cores collected during 1994–1996 showed that surficial pore water concentrations were elevated compared to overlying water column concentrations, suggesting diffusive release from the sediments. Diffusive flux estimates of Mn and Zn agreed in direction with chamber fluxes measured on the same date, but only accounted for 5–38% of the measured flux. Diffusive fluxes of Fe agreed with measured fluxes at the near Trinity River station but overestimated actual release in the mid and outer Trinity Bay regions, possibly due to inaccurate determination of the Fe pore water gradients or rapid oxidation processes in the overlying water at these stations.In general, measured fluxes of Mn and Ni were higher in the mid Trinity Bay region and suggested a mechanism for the elevated trace metal concentrations previously reported for this region of Galveston Bay. However, the fluxes of Fe were highest in close proximity to the Trinity River, supporting the elevated Fe concentrations measured in this region during this and other studies, and decreased towards middle and outer Trinity Bay. Trace metal turnover times were between 0.1 and 1.2 days for Mn, between 1.3 and 4.6 days for Fe, and between 27 and 100 days for Ni and 12–20 days Zn, and were considerably shorter than the average Trinity Bay water residence time (1.5 years) for this period. Comparing area averaged benthic inputs to Trinity River inputs shows the sediments to be a significant source of trace metals to Galveston Bay. However, while benthic inputs of trace metals were measured, water column concentrations remained low despite rapid turnover times for Mn and Fe, suggesting removal of these metals from the water column after release from the sediments.  相似文献

Residual circulation patterns in a channel network that is tidally driven from entrances on opposite sides are controlled by the temporal phasing and spatial asymmetry of the two forcing tides. The Napa/Sonoma Marsh Complex in San Francisco Bay, CA, is such a system. A sill on the west entrance to the system prevents a complete tidal range at spring tides that results in tidal truncation of water levels. Tidal truncation does not occur on the east side but asymmetries develop due to friction and off-channel wetland storage. The east and west asymmetric tides meet in the middle to produce a barotropic convergence zone that controls the transport of water and sediment. During spring tides, tidally averaged water-surface elevations are higher on the truncated west side. This creates tidally averaged fluxes of water and sediment to the east. During neap tides, the water levels are not truncated and the propagation speed of the tides controls residual circulation, creating a tidally averaged flux in the opposite direction.  相似文献

Analyses of plant macrofossils, peat humification and testate amoebae were used to reconstruct a proxy climate record spanning the last 7500 years from an ombrotrophic bog, Temple Hill Moss, in southeast Scotland. The plant macrofossil data were subjected to detrended correspondence analysis (DCA) which modelled effectively the significant wet shifts within the record. A mean water table depth transfer function was applied to the testate amoebae data to provide quantifiable changes. The three proxy records show coherent phase changes which are interpreted as variability in past effective precipitation. Two tephra horizons (Glen Garry and Lairg A) were used in conjunction with radiocarbon dates to construct an age/depth model, producing a robust geochronology from which a time series was calculated. The palaeoclimatic reconstruction identified major wet shifts throughout the Holocene, with specific events occurring around cal. 6650, 5850, 5300, 4500, 3850, 3400, 2800–2450, 1450–1350 and 250–150 BP. Spectral analysis of the plant macrofossil DCA and colorimetric humification data produced a millennial scale periodicity of 1100 years. The same periodicity has also been found in a palaeoclimatic reconstruction from a site in Cumbria (Walton Moss), and may be linked with millennial scale periodicities found in oceanic palaeoclimatic records.  相似文献

Since 1981, the Royal Observatory of Belgium has operated the Sunspot Index Data Centre, the World Data Centre for the Sunspot Index. Recently, the Space Weather Forecast Centre of Paris–Meudon was transferred and added to the activities of the SIDC. Moreover, a complete archive of all images of the SOHO instrument EIT has become available at the SIDC. Given all these extensions, the new style SIDC has become a ‘Solar Influences Data Centre’ that analyses solar activity and provides services on three different time scales:1. Fast warnings and real time monitoring. As the Regional Warning Centre (RWC) for Western Europe of the International Space Environment Service (ISES), the SIDC collects and redistributes solar, geomagnetic, and ionospheric data in Western Europe. Short-term predictions (3 days) and alerts are produced on a daily basis.2. Forecasts and middle term analysis. The SIDC takes care of the calculation of a sunspot index, called the International Sunspot Number. We compute and broadcast the daily, monthly, yearly international sunspot numbers, with middle range predictions (up to 12 months).3. Post-event analysis and long-term solar cycle analysis. Since the launch of SOHO, EIT offers a global view of the EUV corona over the whole rising phase of the solar activity cycle. Such a long-duration data series is unprecedented and allows the study of the evolution over the solar cycle of objects classes such as active regions, coronal holes, coronal mass ejections or flares.  相似文献

There are 19 sub-tropical temperate glaciers on Mount Yulong, the southernmost currently glacier-covered area in Eurasia, controlled by the south-western monsoon climate. In the summer of 1999, a firn core, 10.10 m long, extending down to glacier ice, was recovered in the accumulation area of the largest glacier, Baishui No.1. Periodic variations of climatic signals above 7.8 m depth were apparent, and net accumulation of four years was identified by the annual oscillations of isotopic and ionic composition. The boundaries of annual accumulation were confirmed by higher values of electrical conductivity and pH, and by dirty refreezing ice layers at the levels of summer surfaces. Calculated mean annual net accumulation from 1994/95 to 1997/98 was about 900 mm water equivalent. The amplitude of isotopic variations in the profile decreased with increasing depth, and isotopic homogenization occurred below 7.8 m as a result of meltwater percolation. Variations of δ18O above 7.8 m showed an approximate correlation with the winter climatic trend at Lijiang station, 25 km away. Concentrations of Ca2+ and Mg2+ were much higher than those of Na+ and K+, indicating that the air masses for precipitation were mainly from a continental source, and that the core material accumulated during the winter period. The close correspondence of Cl and Na+ indicated their common origin. The decreasing trend of Na+/Cl ratios with increasing depth further reflects a progressive homogenization process caused by meltwater percolation. Concentrations of SO42− and NO3 in the core are quite low. The mean annual net accumulation in the core and the estimated ablation indicate that the average annual precipitation above the glacier's equilibrium line is 2400–3100 mm, but this needs to be confirmed by long-term observation of mass balance.  相似文献

在全球范围内广泛暴发的石莼属绿潮既包括大规模暴发的跨海域绿潮,也包括小规模暴发的局地绿潮。我国有关绿潮致灾物种的研究对象主要集中于黄海绿潮浒苔,而针对局地绿潮致灾物种的研究尚处于起步阶段。针对局地绿潮物种的鉴定和分布调查是有效预防和监测潜在大规模绿潮暴发的重要环节。本文对2020年11月初于山东烟台第一海水浴场暴发的石莼属绿潮进行了初步研究。经随机采样获得了12株藻体,根据tufA分子标记初步将其中11株鉴定为Ulvalaetevirens。本研究完成了U. laetevirens的一个代表性株系CNS00533的叶绿体基因组构建和解析。叶绿体基因组为110 889 bp,含有71个蛋白编码基因、27个tRNA基因和3个rRNA基因(rrl、rrn和rrn5)。烟台海域U.laetevirens株系叶绿体基因组基因组成和排列顺序与爱尔兰海域U.laetevirens株系MT179351完全一致,DNA序列相似性为99.8%,进一步证明CNS00533为U.laetevirens。此外,U.laetevirens的烟台株系与爱尔兰株系的叶绿体基因组也存在差异,烟台株系比爱尔兰株系多了5个I型内含子和1个II型内含子,导致叶绿体基因组长度增加7kb。CNS00533与U.rigidaMT179352叶绿体基因组之间存在多个不同的长片段插入序列(763—2 346 bp), DNA序列相似性也较低(93.1%);与U. australis MT179348相比差异更大,存在一个较大(覆盖45个基因)的基因组反转事件。在基于71个蛋白编码基因的遗传进化树中, CNS00533与U. laetevirens MT179351聚类在一枝,与U. rigida MT179352遗传距离较近,与U. australis MT179348的遗传距离很远,表明U. laetevirens、U. rigida和U. australis为石莼属的3个不同物种。2020年11月烟台海域局地绿潮事件的原因种U. laetevirens在我国近海绿潮事件中首次报道,本研究对该物种的分子进化分析将有助于对我国近海绿潮监测、物种鉴定提供数据支持和理论依据。  相似文献

米氏凯伦藻(Karenia mikimotoi)近年在我国福建、浙江和广东沿海经常形成赤潮,其赤潮不仅影响到海洋生态系统的稳定,也严重威胁到水产养殖以及人类生命健康安全。本论文以米氏凯伦藻为研究对象,建立了米氏凯伦藻细胞表面膜蛋白质荧光标记技术和细胞膜蛋白质提取方法,运用荧光差异凝胶电泳技术(2-DDIGE)对膜蛋白质进行了分析,并研究了米氏凯伦藻的膜蛋白质组及其对环境温度变动的响应。实验共鉴定到44个细胞表面膜蛋白,其中有效注释27个,主要为转运蛋白、HSP70蛋白家族和捕光蛋白等。米氏凯伦藻在20°C条件下的细胞生长和光合作用要明显好于16°C和12°C,但16°C和12°C条件下的差别不大,表明低温限制了米氏凯伦藻的生长。当米氏凯伦藻从12°C快速转移至16°C和20°C时,藻细胞密度和光合作用效率短时间迅速降低,但细胞很快即适应温度变化。细胞膜上的转运蛋白和光合作用蛋白在其适应温度变化中起着重要作用。  相似文献

为了探讨琼东南盆地华光凹陷海底天然气水合物稳定带的分布规律,定量研究了静水压力、底水温度、地温梯度和气源组分对水合物稳定带的影响程度。在此基础上,分析了华光凹陷现今甲烷水合物稳定带的厚度分布。最后,综合各因素的历史演化过程,初步探讨了华光凹陷1.05 Ma BP以来天然气水合物稳定带的演化。结果表明:(1)气源组分和海底温度的变化对研究区内水合物稳定带的影响较大;水合物稳定带厚度与海底温度呈良好的线性负相关性。(2)水深超过600 m的海域具备形成天然气水合物的温压条件;超过600 m水深的海域水合物稳定带厚度大部分超过 100 m,其中西北部稳定带的最大厚度超过300 m,是有利的水合物勘探区。(3)华光凹陷1.05 Ma BP以来天然气水合物稳定带厚度经历了快速增厚–窄幅变化–快速减薄和恢复的过程。麻坑群与水合物稳定变化敏感区在空间上具有较好的叠合关系。结合前人的研究成果,推测其形成与天然气水合物的分解释放有关。  相似文献
