Soil erosion induces soil redistribution within the landscape and thus contributes to the spatial variability of soil quality. This study complements a previous experimentation initiated by the authors focusing on soil redistribution as a result of soil erosion, as indicated by caesium‐137 (137Cs) measurements, in a small agricultural field in Canada. The spatial variability of soil organic matter (SOM) was characterized using geostatistics, which consider the randomized and structured nature of spatial variables and the spatial distribution of the samples. The spatial correlation of SOM (in percentages) patterns in the topsoil was established taking into account the spatial structure present in the data. A significant autocorrelation and reliable variograms were found with a R2 ≥ 0·9, thus demonstrating a strong spatial dependence. Ordinary Kriging (OK) interpolation provided the best cross validation (r2 = 0·35). OK and inverse distance weighting power two (IDW2) interpolation approaches produced similar estimates of the total SOM content of the topsoil (0–20 cm) of the experimental field, i.e. 211 and 213 tonnes, respectively. However, the two approaches produced differences in the spatial distribution patterns and the relative magnitude of some SOM content classes. The spatialization of SOM and soil redistribution variability – as evidenced by 137Cs measurements – is a first step towards the assessment of the impact of soil erosion on SOM losses to recommend conservation measures. Recent research has indicated the large spatial and temporal variation in soil erosion resistance against concentrated flow (SER). This study analyzes this variability in relation to rill and gully initiation locations on slopes and the downslope eroded volumes. The soil erodibility (Kc) and critical flow shear stress (τcr), were estimated from topsoil properties and correlated to eroded rill and gully volumes and their initiation points on slopes in the Belgian loess belt. Therefore, concentrated flow paths and topsoil properties were measured in their vicinity. The results show that rill and gully initiation points, and hence the lengths of concentrated flow paths, depend on τcr, which is controlled by soil surface conditions and can be predicted from saturated soil shear strength. Soil erosion control measures that increase soil shear strength (e.g. thalweg compaction), can therefore decrease rill and gully lengths. Once a rill or an ephemeral gully is initiated, its cross‐section was found to depend on Kc, which can be estimated from the soil water content, dry bulk density, and the dry density of roots and crop residues incorporated in the topsoil. 74% of the variation in the channel cross‐sectional area measured in the study area could be predicted from the combined effect of flow intensity and these three soil properties, whereas flow intensity alone could only account for 31% of the variation. Soil conservation measures affecting one of the soil properties that control Kc (e.g. double drilling of the thalweg, conservation tillage) can therefore decrease the cross‐sections of the concentrated flow paths. These findings also indicate that rill and gully initiation points are not only topographically controlled but also depend on the SER, which in turn determines the dimensions of these concentrated flow paths. Cheniers from Mont‐Saint‐Michel bay (France) are coarse shelly sand ridges migrating on the mudflat up to the salt marshes where they accumulate and merge in a littoral barrier. In this macrotidal setting and low wave forcing, the cheniers are rarely submerged. However, they are found to move up to several metres during coincidence of spring tide and wave activity. Their processes of migration, morphology and internal structure (composition of the beddings, grain size, sorting and grain arrangement) are thought to be closely related to the hydrodynamic behaviour of the coarse and shelly sediment. This paper focuses on the hydrodynamic behaviour of bioclastic sand sampled from the cheniers: settling velocities of the shell fragments were measured using a 2 m long sedimentation tube. Thresholds of motion under unidirectional current, velocity and turbulence vertical profiles were characterized in a small recirculating flume using Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA). The flat‐shaped bioclastic particles feature low settling velocities and reveal a good resistance to the re‐suspension effect of the flow when imbricated in a sediment bed. The shear stress in the bottom boundary layer has been measured in the viscous and log sub‐layers. Nikuradse roughness heights (ks) for shell debris beds of different sizes have been quantified. It is found that ks ≈ 2·56d50. This value is close to the ones used for classic rounded sand grains despite their major differences of shape. The dual behaviour of the shell fragments (low settling velocity, good resistance to unidirectional flow) should be considered as a key to understanding how this coarse material is transported across the tidal flat, and finally accumulated as cheniers. 通过4种变形标距的弹性模量试验,研究了塑性混凝土弹性模量的合适测试方法。塑性混凝土棱柱体试件设置300mm、200mm、150mm和100mm共4种测试标距,其中300mm标距下的力和位移数据采用计算机自动采集,其余标距采用人工读数。结果表明,利用自动采集数据模式测得塑性混凝土弹性模量值最稳定,且其值远远小于人工读数模式下的值;一般而言,测试标距小,弹性模量值大,全长标距下弹性模量值最小;利用自动采集数据模式下得到单轴压缩应力应变曲线具有典型初始压缩弯曲段、较长的下降段,而人工读数下几乎不能测出初始压缩弯曲段,而主要表现为较长直线上升段。分析了塑性混凝土利用普通混凝土弹性模量计算公式的不足,提出利用其单轴峰值强度的0.3倍、0.7倍对应的点计算其弹性模量。同时提出室内测试塑性混凝土弹性模量试验时不需预压。  相似文献

以2010年6月在东北某油田区野外调查获取的68个表层土壤样品和50个钻孔土壤样品总石油烃浓度测试结果为基础,运用相对累积概率分布曲线法确定该区土壤总石油烃背景值(或临界值),采用监测断面分析法、比拟法对所得结果进行验证,并以此为依据分析了研究区不同土地利用类型表层土壤和不同深度土壤中石油烃污染特征,进而对土壤石油烃污染程度进行评价。结果表明:运用相对累积概率分布曲线法所确定研究区土壤总石油烃背景值(或临界值)为10mg/kg。研究区芦苇湿地土中66.7%点位属中等及以上污染水平,稻田耕作土中73.1%点位属未污染或低污染水平;表层土壤总石油烃浓度空间变异性较大,表现出明显的点源污染特征。此外,表层土壤总石油烃浓度明显高于深层土壤,0~0.2m土层达到重度污染水平,以下深度总石油烃浓度逐渐降低,趋向背景值。这种情况与污染场地石油烃在垂向上的迁移过程主要以渗透作用为主有关。  相似文献

深地震反射原始单炮数据是非平稳的弱能量反射信号,信噪比较低.如何提高信噪比一直是深地震反射数据前处理中的一大难题.S变换是一种适用于分析非平稳信号的时频变换方法.同其他分析时变信号的方法相比,S变换的基本小波不必满足小波在时间域均值为零的容许性条件,它的时频分辨率与分析信号的频率有关,且其在时间域的积分可以得到傅里叶频谱,其反变换也简单.因此,S变换容易表示深地震反射信号复杂的时频特性.本文在S变换的基础上,利用软阈值滤波方法对深地震反射数据进行处理,实验结果表明,该方法有效地提高了信噪比,压制了有效频带范围内的混频干扰,突出了弱反射信号,使得波组信息更加丰富,有利于连续追踪有效反射波组和识别薄地层,特别是提高了深部Moho界面反射层位的分辨率,为深地震反射剖面后续处理和准确解释奠定了基础.  相似文献

This short article evaluates the stochastic method of ground motion simulation for Bucharest area using both the single-corner frequency model and recently introduced double-corner frequency models. A dedicated Q model is derived using ground motions obtained during the largest Vrancea earthquakes from the past 30 years. The simulated ground motions are tested against the observed data from the Vrancea earthquakes of August 1986 and May 1990. Moreover, the observed data are also compared against simulations obtained using the Q model derived by Oth et al. (2008). Finally, the results of the simulations show that the derived Q model is better suited for larger magnitude events, while the Q model of Oth et al. (2008) provides better results for smaller earthquakes.  相似文献

由于存在各种地电干扰,电磁法勘探采集到的原始电场数据中往往包含粗大误差.电磁法勘探中信号量的测量与传统的精密测量在误差来源与特点、测量值分布等方面均存在较大差异.经试验,对电磁勘探采集到的原始电场数据采用传统的莱伊达、格拉布斯、狄克逊等准则进行粗大误差的自动判别和剔除,处理效果不好;采用Robust估计和中值滤波方法,也不能达到满意的效果;采用手工方式挑拣剔除粗大误差,处理效率太低,均不能满足电磁勘探数据预处理的要求.作者提出了一种自适应双向均方差阈值法实现电磁勘探数据粗大误差的自动判别和剔除,此方法对采集到的原始电场数据样本进行排序后,采用迭代或递归的方式,每次均以中点为界分别计算前后两部分数据的均方差,将较大的一个与预先设置的均方差阈值进行比较,若其大于阈值,则判断粗大误差存在于相应的一端,进而剔除相应端端点位置的数据点;若前后均方差值都小于阈值或样本数量小于3个时算法结束.此方法具有自适应优化、阈值参数化控制、适应小样本数据以及计算简单效率高等特点.大量实验结果表明:在选取均方差阈值在30至90范围内时(经验值),能够有效地剔除电磁勘探原始电场数据中的粗大误差,保留最可信数据.目前已在多个实际勘探生产项目中应用此方法处理粗大误差,取得了令人满意的处理效果.  相似文献

A major challenge for geomorphologists is to scale up small‐magnitude processes to produce landscape form, yet existing approaches have been found to be severely limited. New ways to scale erosion and transfer of sediment are thus needed. This paper evaluates the concept of sediment connectivity as a framework for understanding processes involved in sediment transfer across multiple scales. We propose that the concept of sediment connectivity can be used to explain the connected transfer of sediment from a source to a sink in a catchment, and movement of sediment between different zones within a catchment: over hillslopes, between hillslopes and channels, and within channels. Using fluvial systems as an example we explore four scenarios of sediment connectivity which represent end‐members of behaviour from fully linked to fully unlinked hydrological and sediment connectivity. Sediment‐travel distance – when combined with an entrainment parameter reflecting the frequency–magnitude response of the system – maps onto these end‐members, providing a coherent conceptual model for the upscaling of erosion predictions. This conceptual model could be readily expanded to other process domains to provide a more comprehensive underpinning of landscape‐evolution models. Thus, further research on the controls and dynamics of travel distances under different modes of transport is fundamental. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
