Evaporite karst has intensively developed recently along the Dead Sea (DS) coastal area in Israel and Jordan. It takes place in very saline groundwater dissolving buried salt layers, causing collapse of the surface. In this paper, groundwater salinity throughout the DS coastal area is investigated using the Transient Electromagnetic (TEM) method. Twenty-eight TEM soundings along the DS coastal area were carried out close to observation boreholes to calibrate resistivity–salinity relationships. Groundwater electrical conductivity was measured in these boreholes, and its salinity was analyzed at the laboratory by the Geological Survey of Israel (GSI). Quantitative relationships between bulk resistivity (ρx), water resistivity (ρw) and chloride concentration (Ccl) were derived in the resistivity range less than 1.0 Ω·m that enabled to evaluate the salinity of the aquifer in in situ conditions. Average values of the effective porosity of sandy sediments, φe = 0.32, and of silty ones, φe = 0.44, were used to generate the corresponding Archie equations. The study has shown that a DS aquifer with bulk resistivity in the range of 0.55–1.0 Ω·m contains in pores brine with 50–110 gchloride/l of (22–50% of that in saturated conditions, respectively), i.e. it keeps the potential to dissolve up to 114–174 g/l of salt.  相似文献

A composite fall-slippage model is proposed in this study for the Tertiary sedimentary coastal cliffs of Varkala in the western coastal tract of Peninsular India which are retreating landwards due to the combination of several factors. The fall model in the present study accounts both spring seepage and wave action, resulting in undercutting and this fall affects only the topmost laterite and the just below sandstone in the cliff. Slippage in this area affects all the litho-units and hence the geologic characteristics of all the litho-units are considered for developing the slippage model. This mathematically derived model can be used in other cliffs exhibiting the same morphology as well as the one controlled by the same influencing factors. This model differs from other models in incorporating multi-lithounits as well as multi-notches. Varkala cliffs form a part of the aspiring geopark in the Global Geopark Network and hence a study on the cliff recession is a pressing requirement.  相似文献

通过对太行山南段平顺铁矿矿区构造特征及岩浆岩的动力学分析研究,认为第一岩浆岩带属于被动侵位机制,岩体内部成矿潜力较大;第二岩浆岩带为主动侵位机制,背斜核部及岩体与围岩的接触部位为有利成矿区。同时根据岩石、矿石的稀土元素、微量元素、Pb同位素特征及矿体与岩体的关系,认为晚期闪长岩是主要的成矿母岩,但早期基性—超基性岩间接为铁矿的形成提供了一定的物质来源;矿体的形态明显受到接触面及周边构造形态的控制,呈不规则板状、透镜状、分枝状、羽状分布。最后运用矿体成矿规律、磁异常、电法异常等找矿预测方法,在研究区内圈出了龙降沟岩体南缘、双井、东郊3个找矿预测区。  相似文献

Surface sediment samples were collected from 5 pristine coastal areas and 1 potentially contaminated coastal site on Tutuila, the main island of American Samoa, an isolated island group in the South Pacific Ocean. Samples were analysed for total element analysis (15 elements) and mineralogy. The results indicated no evidence of trace element contamination at any site, including Pago Pago Harbour. Inter-site variations could be explained assuming the sediments consisted predominantly of coralline sand and rubble with varying quantities of basaltic materials derived from local catchments.  相似文献

To understand the coastal water quality of San Andrès Island, and provide tools for the management of its marine resources, we present the historical analysis of the island monitoring, which includes ammonia, nitrites, nitrate, phosphates, fecal and total coliforms. The anthropogenic pressure on the coastal system is heavy, with water nutrification, posing at risk seagrass and coral ecosystems. During dry season, biologically available nitrogen is 3-9 times higher than the maximum recommended for coral reefs, while during wet season values are 2-6.4 times the maximum. Biologically available phosphorous is also high, 1-8 times the maximum during dry season, 2-13 times during wet season. In some sites the concentration of pathogenic bacteria is above the limits set by law for primary and secondary contact. It is urgent to improve the management of sewage discharge, the main polluting source of San Andres coastal waters.  相似文献

Soil dynamic parameters, including dynamic shear modulus ratio and damping ratio, have important effects on the results of layered soil earthquake response. In this paper, the mean parameter values of silty clay in different depths are obtained after statistical analysis of the experimental soil dynamic data from 20 recent site seismic safety evaluation reports in the Beijing area. Furthermore, based on two typical engineering sites, the influence of four different soil dynamic parameters, the statistic mean values, experimental values, values recommended by Yuan Xiaoming, and the values recommended in the code for seismic safety evaluation of engineering sites ( DB001 -94) are analyzed. The result shows that mean statistical values are applicable to seismic safety evaluation work in the Beijing area, especially for some inter-layered silty clays whose undisturbed soil samples are hard to obtain.  相似文献

Shallow marine sediments were collected from seven stations (three of which located at Gerlache Inlet, two at Tethys Bay, one at Adelie Cove and one just beneath the Italian Research Base) along the Terra Nova Bay coast (Ross Sea, Antarctica). Their chemical, biochemical and microbiological properties were studied in order to provide further insights in the knowledge of this Antarctic benthic ecosystem. Overall, the organic carbon (OC) represented the major fraction of total carbon (TC) and displayed concentrations similar to or slightly lower than those previously measured in Antarctic bottom sediments. The biopolymeric carbon within OC ranged from 4.1% to 19.9% and showed a wide trophic range (65–834 μg g−1 d.w.). Proteins (PRT) represented on average the main biochemical class contributing to labile organic carbon, followed by lipids (LIP) and carbohydrates (CHO). The activity of aminopeptidase, β-d-glucosidase, alkaline phosphatase and esterase was checked, giving the highest values at Tethys Bay and at the deepest water sediments. The principal component analysis, which was computed considering physical, chemical (elemental and biochemical sedimentary composition) and microbiological parameters (including bacterial abundance, ectoenzymatic activities, T-RFs richness and diversity indices), allowed to obtain two main clusters (“Tethys Bay” and “other stations”). Based on data obtained, two representative 16S rRNA clone libraries using samples from Tethys Bay and Gerlache Inlet were constructed. The sequences of 171 clones were compared to those available in public databases to determine their approximate phylogenetic affiliations. Both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria were disclosed, with the majority of them affiliated with the Gamma- and Deltaproteobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Acidobacteria. The occurrence of strictly anaerobic bacteria suggests that sediments might also undergo anoxic conditions that, in turn, could favor the accumulation of PRT in respect to CHO, assuming that fermentation of amino acids is slower than that of sugars from decomposing polysaccharides.  相似文献

以天津滨海新区地下工程涉及较多的9~18m深度海相软土为研究对象,采用应力应变控制式三轴剪切渗透试验仪,分别进行三轴固结不排水试验(CU)、三轴不固结不排水试验(UU)以及模拟基坑开挖卸荷的减p路径试验(DEP),得到滨海软土在不同应力路径下的力学性状与初始固结状态有关。CU与UU试验应力与应变关系曲线呈硬化特征,CU试验孔隙水压力与应变关系呈先剪缩后剪胀的性质;DEP试验应力与应变关系曲线呈软化特征,在等应力控制条件下,孔隙水压力与应变关系呈剪胀性质,孔压为负。DEP试验对于总应力强度参数有影响,对有效应力强度参数影响较小。在滨海软土基坑支护设计中,选用CU试验参数进行计算,设计偏于安全。  相似文献

从城市群的角度运用社会网络分析法对中国-东盟自贸区空间经济联系进行研究,首先从度、入度、出度3个角度对自贸区内的44个城市建立网络模型分析城市之间的复杂关系。其次对网络图进行中心度分析,判断城市的经济辐射范围,基于核心-边缘理论对自贸区内44个城市划分。最后利用派系过滤算法对城市网络图进行社团结构分析,利用K-plex算法进行凝聚子群分析。分析结果表明自贸区内城市之间存在密切的联系,核心城市群与边缘城市群圈层明显;同时中国在自贸区内扮演着重要角色,带动国家经济关系建设,促进区域经济的繁荣发展。  相似文献
