Land cover map 2000 (LCM2000) is a comprehensive survey of UK broad habitats giving vector digital maps from segment-based classification of remotely sensed satellite data. This paper examines the influence of users in designing LCM2000 and the difficulties in applying a user-defined classification. It assesses problems and successes through comparisons with a sample-based field survey. These suggest that LCM2000 accuracy at broad habitat level may be around 80–85%; however, it was not possible fully to discriminate errors in LCM2000 from those of the field survey or from mismatches in scales, resolutions and survey dates. Calibration generated broad habitat cover statistics from LCM2000 data to field survey equivalence. These take full account of the heterogeneity of a study area, helping to generate accurate statistics, including those at local level where the field survey cannot operate effectively. The paper concludes that the comprehensive and extensive coverage from remote sensing comes closer than alternative methods to meeting users needs. However, it recognises that producers of remotely sensed information need to understand better the needs of users, and users need to appreciate what the technology can and cannot deliver. This paper adds some benefits of hindsight to the process of communication.  相似文献

This paper presents an account of the progress of the integration between the Danish and Swedish parts of the Öresund Region within the world of science, with emphasis on biotech. The paper is based on data from the database Science Citation Index Expanded. The amount of co-authorships produced by agents from each side of the region is analysed for a 12-year period (1994–2005) and used as an indicator to show how the integration is proceeding. Each of the co-authorships is examined to shed light on the nature of the interactions, thereby identifying the agents most involved in collaboration. Furthermore, the development in co-authorships within the region is compared to the development in co-authorships between the Öresund Region and four selected reference areas. Our findings indicate that there has been a substantial increase in both the number of co-authorships overall and within biotech solely. The rise in co-authorships between the two parts is proceeding at a faster pace than the rise in co-authorships between the Öresund Region and the reference areas. The overall results of this paper indicate a growing integration of the biotech sector in the Öresund Region.  相似文献

随着星载面阵CMOS探测器的广泛使用,使得获取超时相数据成为可能,这为新型对地遥感工作模式带来新的发展机遇。本文不再局限于采用单一技术解决单一技术指标的传统解决问题的方式,系统性地提出一种面向星载面阵CMOS相机的新型成像方式,利用面阵CMOS相机连续快速曝光在极短的时间内获取同一观测区域的超时相序列数据,通过图像重建的方式,实现一揽子的图像质量提升,即同时实现虚拟数字时间延迟积分TDI(Time Delay Integration)、调制传输函数MTF(Modulation Transfer Function)补偿和空间分辨率GSD(Ground Sampling Distance)提升。这种新型成像方式的优点是,可以改善星载光学相机是探测器受限系统的窘境,进而在不改变光学系统的情况下,通过求解一个病态方程,实现对地遥感图像空间分辨率与成像质量的综合提升。基于实验室的靶标仿真实验数据、基于低轨光学遥感卫星OVS-1A、吉林一号视频03卫星和高分四号卫星的真实数据实验结果表明,无论是信噪比,图像清晰度还是空间分辨率都有明显提升。这种新型成像方式已被中国后续某地球同步轨道光学成像卫星所采用,可以预见的是,这种成像方式不仅可以使得在轨卫星发布更高分辨率与更好图像质量的产品,盘活在轨卫星的探测资源;在实现同样空间分辨率与图像质量的前提下,可以有效降低光学相机载荷的体积与重量,进而可以有效降低未来光学卫星的研制成本。  相似文献

Emphasis is given to the processing and integration of data from the acquisition system centered on the multibeam bathymetric survey equipment, and to the interactive map generation systems, MBChart, SeaMap, and SeaGIIS. Groundwater inrushes often occur in the coal mines of China. One of the water sources is the aquifers underlying the coal seams. Because such a water hazard is affected by many factors, data collected from various sources need to be evaluated to predict its occurrence. This paper introduces an innovative approach in which the water inrush risk is represented by the vulnerability index. This method combines the geographic information system and the artificial neural network. The artificial neural network is used to estimate the weight of each factor. Unlike the traditional prediction method in which two controlling factors are often evaluated without regard to their relative importance, this new approach incorporates multi-factors and describes the non-linear dynamical processes.  相似文献

Space technologies, such as kinematic Global Positioning System (GPS), often combined with an inertial navigation system (INS), provide an efficient direct georeferencing tool for remote sensing and aerial surveying. Practically, these systems are now able to deliver high-precision orientation data for spatial data acquisition platforms in a timely manner, at relatively low cost, as compared to traditional methods. The Airborne Integrated Mapping System (AIMS (TM)), developed at The Ohio State University Center for Mapping, integrates high-resolution digital imagery, differential GPS/INS, and precise timing for high-quality data acquisition supporting large-scale mapping and other precise positioning applications. In this article, the AIMS (TM) system hardware/software configuration, its current operational capabilities, and the test results of airborne mapping of the coastal zone are presented.  相似文献
