In this study the influence of land-surface parameters on latent heat fluxes simulated with the numerical weather prediction model Lokalmodell (LM) of the German Meteorological Service is investigated. The area of interest is the LITFASS area during the LITFASS-2003 campaign. Based on simulations with varying soil and vegetation properties, we confirm that simulated latent heat fluxes strongly depend on soil moisture and leaf area index. Both parameters are difficult to obtain from in situ measurements with sufficient spatial resolution over heterogeneous land surfaces. Therefore, a procedure is proposed to determine area average values of soil moisture from time domain reflectometer measurements performed at a limited number of sites. The area averages cover the 7 × 7 km2 grid cells of the LM around Lindenberg (south-east of Berlin). Furthermore, satellite inferred plant parameters from NOAA–AVHRR are used to initialise model runs; the derived vegetation parameters show notable differences with those in the standard input of LM. The latent heat fluxes from the LM are compared with the aggregated eddy-covariance-measurements, and while the operational LM shows a strong overestimation of latent heat fluxes, it is demonstrated that the application of land-surface parameters derived from measurements can significantly reduce the deviation between the simulated and measured latent heat fluxes.  相似文献

By using a thermally stratified wind tunnel, we have successfullysimulated stably stratified boundary layers (SBL), in which the meantemperature increases upward almost linearly. We have investigated the flow structure and the effects of near-linearstable stratification on the transfer of momentum and heat. Thevertical profiles of turbulence quantities exhibit different behaviour in two distinct stability regimes of the SBLflows with weak and strong stability. For weak stability cases, theturbulent transfer of momentum and heat is basically similar to that for neutral turbulent boundary layers, although it is weakenedwith increasing stability. For strong stability cases, on the other hand,the time-mean transfer is almost zero over the whole boundary-layer depth.However, the instantaneous turbulent transfer frequently occurs in bothgradient and counter-gradient directions in the lower part of the boundary layer. This is due to the Kelvin–Helmholtz (K–H) shear instability and therolling up and breaking of K–H waves. Moreover, the internal gravity wavesare observed in the middle and upper parts of all stable boundary layers.  相似文献

Recently Wilson and Flesch (Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 84, 411-426, 1997) suggested that the average increment d z to the orientation = arctan(w/u) of the Lagrangian velocity-fluctuation vector can be used to distinguish the better Lagrangian stochastic models within the well-mixed class. Here it is demonstrated that the specification of d z constitutes neither a sufficient or universally applicable criterion to distinguish the better Lagrangian stochastic models within the well-mixed class. The hypothesis made by Wilson and Flesch that Lagrangian stochastic models with /PE irrotational are zero-spin models, having d z=0, is proven  相似文献

Large-eddy simulations have been performed for fully developed turbulent flow within and above explicitly resolved simple cube arrays. The results from our model, hereafter LES-CITY, are shown to agree with laboratory experiments. We investigated the systematic influence of cube density on turbulent flow characteristics by performing numerical experiments for cube areal densities from 0 to 44%. The following results were obtained: (1) The dispersive momentum flux was quite large within the canopy layer due to a mean stream re-circulation, whereas it was smaller above the canopy. The spatial variation of temporally averaged momentum in the roughness sub-layer was 20% or less of the total kinematic surface drag. (2) The temporally and spatially-averaged flow structure confirmed the existence of conventionally described canyon flow regimes; isolated, interfacial, and wake. However, the intermittency of the canyon flow for all cube densities was quite large and the stream patterns were never persistent. (3) Turbulent organized structures (TOS) similar to those observed in turbulent surface-layer flows were simulated, which are characterized by longitudinally-elongated low speed streaks and the corresponding shorter streamwise vortices. The streaks in sparse and dense canopy flows were likely to be aligned to the street line and to the roof lines, respectively. Such heterogeneity of TOS partially accounts for the large spatial variation of momentum flux. (4) In contrast to the mixing layer analogy of vegetation flows, the TOS and the resulting turbulent statistics of urban flow above the canopy resembled those in surface layers. The recirculation within the canopy significantly influenced the turbulent statistical properties.  相似文献

Laboratory experiments that combine thermal convection in a rapidly rotating shell with a sudden increase of the shell’s rotation rate (spin-up) enable us to study processes related to turbulent viscous coupling between planetary fluid cores and solid mantles. We experimentally measure the large-scale effective viscosity by determining how the synchronisation time between the fluid and the shell (called the spin-up time) is shortened when convective turbulence exists in the bulk of the fluid. Our experiments suggest that viscous core-mantle coupling in planets may be greater than has been previously estimated using molecular viscosity values.  相似文献

本文提出一种只用单一超声风温仪的平均风速和湍流量测定值确定地表空气动力学粗糙度的方案.该方法经Kansas实验资料验证,效果甚好,由5.66m和22.6m两层超声风温仪数据计算的z_0彼此一致,并且完全符合风速廓线确定的数值.将其用于确定HEIFE实验区平坦戈壁滩的地表粗糙度,1988年和1990年两批数据的估值结果大致相符,z_0分别为1.5×10~(-3)m和1.1×10~(-3)m.由精细风廓线观测发现该地z_0=1.2×10~(-3)m,证实了所建议的方法和z_0估值的可靠性.  相似文献

用二维磁流体力学数值模拟研究了磁层顶的磁场湍动重联.提出了一个新的磁场湍动重联模型.数值模拟表明,如果磁层顶是一个开放系统并同时存在磁场剪切和流场剪切,当雷诺数和磁雷诺数超过某临界数值时,磁场重联具有很强的湍动特性,可产生许多不同尺度的磁岛和涡旋结构.随着雷诺数和磁雷诺数的增大和减小,大尺度结构能破碎成中小尺度结构,小尺度结构也能合并成大中尺度结构.湍动重联是涡旋诱发重联在一定条件下的过渡.依据本文的模拟结果,我们预言:磁层预可发生准定常重联、瞬时局地重联和湍动重联等多种重联过程;大中小不同尺度的结构都可以存在于磁层顶;湍动重联及其所产生的中小尺度结构在太阳风-磁层的能量、动量和质量耦合过程中可起重要作用.  相似文献

利用北京中国科学院大气物理研究所325 m气象观测塔的气象梯度资料和湍流资料,分析了2014年11月29日至12月5日北京两次大风过程中气象要素和湍流输送特征的变化。第一次大风过程的强度和持续时间均高于第二次大风过程。强烈的风速垂直切变主要集中在距地面100 m高度范围内,最强风速垂直切变达到0.31 s~(-1)。大风过程中,阵风系数呈现随高度减小的趋势,越接近地面,阵风系数愈大。阵风强度的变化与阵风系数相似,100 m以下高度时,阵风强度随高度增大而减小。大风过程自上而下改变边界层结构,平均动能、湍流动能和摩擦速度最先从上层(280 m)发生变化且迅速增加。近地层由于风速垂直梯度的显著差异,近地层垂直方向的湍流强度最大。大风时各功率谱在低频区(0.01 s~(-1))达到峰值,大风过后各高度的能量都有所下降。  相似文献
