Alluvial channels arise through the interaction between morphology, hydraulics, and sediment transport, known as the ‘fluvial trinity’. Over relatively short timescales where climate and geology are fixed but discharge and sediment supply may vary, this process facilitates adjustments towards steady state, where the system oscillates around a mean condition. The relationship between changes in conditions and geomorphic response may be highly complex and nonlinear, especially in systems with multiple modes of adjustment. This study examines the adjustment of an erodible channel with fixed banks and a widely graded sediment mixture to successive increases in discharge. With each increase in discharge, components of the fluvial trinity adjusted towards a steady state. Particularly at relatively low discharges, adjustments were controlled by intrinsic thresholds and highlighted important morphodynamic processes. Notably, there was a strong interplay between channel morphology and sediment transport, and an effect whereby larger-than-average grains controlled channel deformation. These two processes occurred at the bar scale and were highly spatialised, which has two important implications: (1) reach-averaged representations of process provide only partial insight into morphodynamics; and (2) models of rivers that suppress these process feedbacks and size-dependent transport may not replicate morphodynamics that typically occur in field conditions. The experiments provide quantitative evidence for conceptual models describing exponential approaches towards steady state and the potential for transiency if disturbance frequency exceeds the recovery time. They also highlight how in natural rivers, particularly those with greater degrees of freedom for adjustment (notably, lateral adjustment and meandering), continuous changes in discharge may lead to nonlinear rather than steady-state behaviour. In these settings, more holistic analytical frameworks that embrace different aspects of the system are critical in understanding the direction, magnitude and timing of channel adjustments.  相似文献

磷矿伴生稀土元素是获取稀土资源的重要途径。我国磷块岩型稀土矿分布广,稀土含量高,具有综合回收价值,是仅次于独立稀土矿床的伴生稀土资源。本文主要研究云南安宁磷矿中稀土元素分布规律和赋存状态,并比较了磷矿石中稀土元素总量与磷含量的关系,结果表明磷矿石中稀土氧化物总量为72×10-6~1 050×10-6,与磷含量呈一定的正相关关系。另外通过光学显微镜及电子显微镜观察发现,安宁磷矿中缺乏独立的稀土矿物,只在部分海绿石中找到了独立的稀土矿物(可能为独居石和褐帘石)。LA-ICP-MS分析结果表明,胶磷矿单矿物稀土元素含量在770×10-6~920×10-6之间,而白云石单矿物稀土元素含量均低于34×10-6,石英单矿物的稀土元素平均含量为180×10-6。由于部分独立的稀土矿物的存在,海绿石矿物中稀土元素总量可高达2 947.27×10-6~3 159.87×10-6。综合分析结果表明,安宁磷矿中稀土元素主要以类质同像的...  相似文献

利用线性最小方差估计方法,以正交投影理论为工具,推导了动态线性系统在状态噪声为有色噪声情形下的状态预测值及其相应的协方差阵。在形式上,此预测值比经典Kalman滤波预测值多出一项,该项包含了前一时刻的新息。对新预测值进行分析,得出了有色状态噪声条件下Kalman滤波的新算法,扩展了经典Kalman滤波的应用范围。最后通过一个模拟算例,证明了该算法的有效性。  相似文献

An Improved, Downscaled, Fine Model for Simulation of Daily Weather States   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this study,changes in daily weather states were treated as a complex Markov chain process,based on a continuous-time watershed model(soil water assessment tool,SWAT) developed by the Agricultural Research Service at the U.S.Department of Agriculture(USDA-ARS).A finer classification using total cloud amount for dry states was adopted,and dry days were classified into three states:clear,cloudy,and overcast(rain free).Multistate transition models for dry-and wet-day series were constructed to comprehensively downscale the simulation of regional daily climatic states.The results show that the finer,improved,downscaled model overcame the oversimplified treatment of a two-weather state model and is free of the shortcomings of a multistate model that neglects finer classification of dry days(i.e.,finer classification was applied only to wet days).As a result,overall simulation of weather states based on the SWAT greatly improved,and the improvement in simulating daily temperature and radiation was especially significant.  相似文献

A five‐year dataset of Argus‐derived mean intertidal positions has been analysed to characterize the shoreface variability in a beach protected by a system of groynes and a parallel low crested structure (Lido di Dante Ravenna, Italy). For the period 2004–2009, 84 intertidal beach bathymetries and shorelines at the zero sea level were used as indicators to assess beach changes in between a number of selected surveys and to determine characteristic patterns of the beach response to storm events from different directions. Variations in the shoreline at the zero sea levels have been quantified and analysed in conjunction with nearshore wave conditions and provenance linked to storm events. These fall into two categories: (1) storm events occurring during Bora (north‐eastern) wind conditions and (2) storm events occurring during Scirocco (south‐eastern) wind conditions. The results show that, apart from main beach advances of the whole protected beach due to nourishments periodically carried out, a marked variability is observed among the four sub‐cells into which the shoreface behaviour has been separately analysed. In particular, a dependence of beach rotation in the ‘artificially embayed’ area on the substantially bi‐directional wave climate has been shown: Bora and Scirocco storm events produce shoreline rotation in counterclockwise and clockwise directions, respectively, due to the occurrence of longshore currents in the opposite direction in the nearshore. An attempt was made to correlate the shoreface dynamics for the main rotation events (14 selected ones) to the wave attack intensity (as the total energy flux due to storm events). A relationship seems to occur (for each storm category) between the shoreline displacements estimated for each sub‐cell and the total energy flux computed for inter‐survey periods, supporting the occurrence of a link between the observed morphological changes and the hydrodynamic forcing associated with storm events in the five‐year monitoring period. The fluid-structure interaction curvilinear immersed boundary (FSI-CURVIB) numerical method of Borazjani et al. [3] is extended to simulate coupled flow and sediment transport phenomena in turbulent open-channel flows. The mobile channel bed is discretized with an unstructured triangular mesh and is treated as a sharp-interface immersed boundary embedded in a background curvilinear mesh used to discretize the general channel outline. The unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations closed with the k − ω turbulence model are solved numerically on a hybrid staggered/non-staggered grid using a second-order accurate fractional step method. The bed deformation is calculated by solving the sediment continuity equation in the bed-load layer using an unstructured, finite-volume formulation that is consistent with the CURVIB framework. Both the first-order upwind and the higher-order hybrid GAMMA schemes [12] are implemented to discretize the bed-load flux gradients and their relative accuracy is evaluated through a systematic grid refinement study. The GAMMA scheme is employed in conjunction with a sand-slide algorithm for limiting the bed slope at locations where the material angle of repose condition is violated. The flow and bed deformation equations are coupled using the partitioned loose-coupling FSI-CURVIB approach [3]. The hydrodynamic module of the method is validated by applying it to simulate the flow in an 180° open-channel bend with fixed bed. To demonstrate the ability of the model to simulate bed morphodynamics and evaluate its accuracy, we apply it to calculate turbulent flow through two mobile-bed open channels, with 90° and 135° bends, respectively, for which experimental measurements are available.  相似文献

本文利用1979~2008 年美国国家环境预报中心(NCEP)和美国国家大气研究中心(NCAR)第二套再分析资料、美国国家海洋和大气管理局(NOAA)的向外长波辐射(OLR)资料及1979~2007年全球降水资料(CMAP), 分析了南海地区热带大气的低频振荡及其对南海夏季风的可能影响。结果表明, 夏半年南海地区存在显著的30~60天的周期振荡。当30~60天低频振荡处于活跃位相时, 南海及其周围地区的低层大气为低频西南风, 南海和菲律宾北部为低频气旋流场且为正的位涡度, 对应着增强的南海夏季风槽和南海夏季风; 当 30~60天低频振荡处于不活跃位相时, 情形正好相反。进一步的研究揭示出, 夏半年30~60天低频振荡变化的空间型与夏半年平均场的年际变化的空间分布非常相似, 并且南海及其附近地区的 30~60天低频振荡活动的年际变化对夏半年平均场的年际变化有显著的贡献。强、弱南海夏季风年30~60天低频振荡活动的比较也说明, 强的南海夏季风年30~60天低频振荡活跃状态发生的概率大于不活跃状态发生的概率, 而弱的南海夏季风年则是不活跃状态发生的概率大于活跃状态发生的概率。因此, 南海地区30~60天低频振荡对南海夏季风很可能有重要影响, 当30~60天低频振荡的活跃状态处于主导时, 南海夏季风往往会偏强; 反之, 如果不活跃状态处于主导时, 南海夏季风往往会偏弱。  相似文献

This study presents a numerical investigation of the effect of volatilization and the supercritical state of pore water on maturation of organic matter in host rocks based on the heat flow models assuming the instantaneous and finite-time intrusion mechanisms of magma. A 15 m thick, well-dated basic sill in the DSDP 41-368 hole near Cape Verde Rise, eastern Atlantic is selected as an example due to the sufficient thermophysical parameters of rocks and the definite burial and thermal history of the shale host rocks. Results indicate: (1) The effect of the temperature-dependent thermal properties of pore water at a hydrostatic pressure of 414 bar on the predicted vitrinite reflectance (Rr) is less than 0.1% no matter which intrusion mechanism of magma is assumed and can hence be ignored reasonably; (2) The consideration of volatilization of pore water can reduce the predicted Rr of host rocks significantly. In case of the instantaneous intrusion mechanism, the maximum deviation of the predicted Rr caused by pore-water volatilization reaches 1.3% at the location of half the sill thickness away from the contact (i.e. X/D = 0.5), and the deviation above 0.5% can occur in the region from 0.3 to 1.0 in the form of X/D. In case of the finite-time intrusion mechanism, the maximum deviation of the predicted Rr due to pore-water volatilization attains 1.15% at X/D = 0.25, and the region where the deviation is larger than 0.5% lies between 0.15 and 0.6 in the form of X/D; (3) If hydrothermal convection in the host rocks is allowed for, the predicted Rr of the overlying host rocks is less than that of the underlying host rocks at the same X/D in the inner region of the contact aureole of igneous intrusions, whereas the phenomenon is converse in the outer region. In contrast, the measured Rr profile shows that at the same X/D, Rr of the overlying host rocks is totally higher than that of the underlying host rocks. Thus, it is not the hydrothermal convection in the overlying host rocks that resulted in the asymmetry of the current Rr profiles below and above the sill; (4) The predicted Rr based on the heat conduction model assuming the finite-time intrusion mechanism and pore-water volatilization matches well with the measured one out of the region where the Rr geothermometer is unreliable due to the effect of volatilization of pore water. This demonstrates that the finite-time intrusion mechanism of magma, together with pore-water volatilization, possibly represents natural conditions.  相似文献

The thermodynamic properties of 254 end‐members, including 210 mineral end‐members, 18 silicate liquid end‐members and 26 aqueous fluid species are presented in a revised and updated internally consistent thermodynamic data set. The PVT properties of the data set phases are now based on a modified Tait equation of state (EOS) for the solids and the Pitzer & Sterner (1995) equation for gaseous components. Thermal expansion and compressibility are linked within the modified Tait EOS (TEOS) by a thermal pressure formulation using an Einstein temperature to model the temperature dependence of both the thermal expansion and bulk modulus in a consistent way. The new EOS has led to improved fitting of the phase equilibrium experiments. Many new end‐members have been added, including several deep mantle phases and, for the first time, sulphur‐bearing minerals. Silicate liquid end‐members are in good agreement with both phase equilibrium experiments and measured heat of melting. The new dataset considerably enhances the capabilities for thermodynamic calculation on rocks, melts and aqueous fluids under crustal to deep mantle conditions. Implementations are already available in thermocalc to take advantage of the new data set and its methodologies, as illustrated by example calculations on sapphirine‐bearing equilibria, sulphur‐bearing equilibria and calculations to 300 kbar and 2000 °C to extend to lower mantle conditions.  相似文献
