Based on the heterogeneity of fault plane strength,the macro rupture process of a fault plane can be treated as the rupture accumulation process of local micro-elements in the fault surface.Assuming that the strength of the local micro-elements follows the Weibull probability distribution,the macro-fault constitutive relationship of the complete load-deformation process is derived from a statistical mechanics viewpoint.Applying a one-dimensional earthquake mechanics model and using far-field displacement a as the control variable,the problem of earthquake instability is investigated by employing the stability theory.The results show that the system stiffness ratio(stiffness ratio of fault to surroun-ding rock) β is the important parameter that affects the occurrence of earthquakes.Earthquake instability occurs only when β < 1,and the sudden stress jump appears at the displacement turning point of the equilibrium path curve.The expression of three important parameters for earthquakes(fault half-dislocation distance after earthquake,earthquake stress drop and elastic energy release) is also given.When β≥1,the earthquake does not occur and the fault only slips slowly without an earthquake.  相似文献

In order to elucidate the onset of the pressure-induced transformations of germanates consisting of GeO4 tetrahedra at room temperature, we have investigated the stability of the crystal structures near the transition pressure in terms of the stability of the linkage of the tetrahedra. The stability of the linkage near the transition pressure is estimated from the results of the molecular orbital calculations for the model cluster H6Ge2O7, which mimics the linkage of tetrahedra, as functions of the bond length d(Ge–Obr) with bridging oxygen and bond angles Ge–Obr–Ge. The calculation shows that the total energy of the linkage becomes minimum at d(Ge–Obr)=1.758 Å and br–Ge=130.4°, and that it increases with the deviation from the energy minimum geometry. From the compression behavior of framework and chain germanates, we find that the linkage of the tetrahedra becomes unstable with increasing pressure, and that these germanates commonly transform into their high-pressure phases when the linkage of the tetrahedra largely departs from the energy minimum geometry. This suggests that the high-pressure transformations of the metastably compressed germanates are induced by the instability of the linkage of tetrahedra.  相似文献

This paper studies the effect of photochemistry on the gravity wave instability in summer polar mesopause region. The calculation method of the effects of eddy viscosity, conductivity and eddy diffusion of chemical species on the gravity wave instability induced by photochemistry are studied. The critical wavelength of the instability is given in this paper. The influences of some parameters on it are discussed. The study shows that the gravity wave instability induced by photochemistry is sensitive to the temperature and atomic oxygen profiles.  相似文献

Frequency spectra of unstable modes for typical models of Cephei, SPBand Scuti variables are presented. Comparison of theoretical andobserved instability ranges allows to constrain possible parameters of thestellar models. As an example, models of 2 Tau are considered. Mainuncertainties in the determination of the theoretical frequency ranges for Sct variables are due to unsatisfactory treatment of convection.The structure of rotationally split multiplets for the low-order modesexcited in Sct stars is discussed. The rotational coupling betweenclose modes of spherical harmonic degree, , differing by 2, cansignificantly disturb the frequency spectrum.  相似文献

本文讨论了经典撕裂模理论的局限性,提出在考虑撕裂模的周期振荡后,其感应电场的大小及时空尺度均能满足太阳耀斑中的毫秒级射电尖峰所提供的高能粒子的信息,从而给耀斑粒子的一次加速提出了一种可能的机制。另一方面,撕裂模的周期与单个尖峰的宽度可对应,而撕裂模指数增长的特征时间又恰好与射电尖峰群的典型宽度具有同一量级,因此,快速尖峰辐射的时间结构很可能是由高能粒子流即加速电场本身的准周期性所决定。  相似文献

本文讨论了一种含扩散型粘滞的弱磁化等温吸积盘模型.在作者原有工作的基础上研究了吸积盘对非轴对称扰动(含径向、环向和垂向三个方向的扰动)所表现的脉动不稳定性.结果表明,径向扰动是最重要、最根本的扰动:在无径向扰动时,吸积盘中不存在环向扰动与垂向扰动所产生的脉动不稳定性.在径向扰动存在时,吸积盘除了可能存在纯径向脉动不稳定性外,还可能存在由于径向扰动与垂向扰动的耦合所引起的轴对称脉动不稳定性,以及由于径向扰动与环向扰动的耦合所引起的非轴对称脉动不稳定性.当上述三个方向的扰动并存时,对应的非轴对称脉动不稳定性也可能存在.  相似文献

为判别不稳定斜坡的危险度,在斜坡表面的变形迹象、斜坡本身的内部条件及外界的触发因素中,分出12项定性定量判别指标,它们各自有因子判别值Xj(i为判别指标的编号,1—12;j为因子判别值等级编号,1—6)。把各判别指标的因子判别值Xj叠加并予以综合后,便得叠加因子判别值Y=sum from 1 to N(Xj/N)(N为判别指标的数目,至少取6个),再查表13,定出不稳定斜坡危险度D。  相似文献

We study the effects of the presence of vortex rings surrounding a supersonic radio jet inside the cocoon of a radio lobe. We show that both the jet and the shocked ambient medium are pinched. Flow speed inside the cocoon is always close to the sonic value and it stays so by successively passing through several oblique shocks. We also discuss the possibility of the non-linear growth of the instabilities of the contact surface to explain the numerical results in the literature.  相似文献

We conduct a theoretical analysis to investigate the double diffusion-driven convective instability of three-dimensional fluid-saturated geological fault zones when they are heated uniformly from below. The fault zone is assumed to be more permeable than its surrounding rocks. In particular, we have derived exact analytical solutions to the total critical Rayleigh numbers of the double diffusion-driven convective flow. Using the corresponding total critical Rayleigh numbers, the double diffusion-driven convective instability of a fluid-saturated three-dimensional geological fault zone system has been investigated. The related theoretical analysis demonstrates that: (1) The relative higher concentration of the chemical species at the top of the three-dimensional geological fault zone system can destabilize the convective flow of the system, while the relative lower concentration of the chemical species at the top of the three-dimensional geological fault zone system can stabilize the convective flow of the system. (2) The double diffusion-driven convective flow modes of the three-dimensional geological fault zone system are very close each other and therefore, the system may have the similar chance to pick up different double diffusion-driven convective flow modes, especially in the case of the fault thickness to height ratio approaching 0. (3) The significant influence of the chemical species diffusion on the convective instability of the three-dimensional geological fault zone system implies that the seawater intrusion into the surface of the Earth is a potential mechanism to trigger the convective flow in the shallow three-dimensional geological fault zone system.  相似文献
