Stochastic models for the completeness of stratigraphic sections

Properties of stratigraphic completeness are determined here from a Brownian motion model of sediment accumulation. This avoids flaws inherent in application of a discrete-time random walk to the time span, rather than thickness, of sediment layers. Both discrete and continuous models show that the concept of stratigraphic completeness is meaningful only when the time scale is specified. From the discrete model, not surprisingly, completeness improves with increasing relative frequency and average thickness of depositional increments and the error of completeness estimation should decrease for longer sections. The continuous model shows that two dimensionless products determine the probability that a given time interval will be recorded by some preserved sediment. The first is the ratio of the age of the interval to its time span; the second is the product of the square root of the time span and ratio of the mean to the standard deviation of accumulation rate. Expected completeness is the average of these probabilities for all successive intervals of the given time span. For long sections, completeness may be estimated from the second dimensionless product alone. The two dimensionless products are sufficient to predict the relationship of accumulation rate to time span, the distribution of bed thickness, and the weak association of completeness and section thickness.  相似文献

Stochastic geometry in petroleum geology

Many aspects of the generation, migration, trapping, and discovery of petroleum, as well as its primary and enhanced recovery, depend upon geometry. The scale of the relevant geometric features varies all the way from that of continental margins and basins down to the pores and fissures in reservoir rocks. Because the spatial complexity is so great for each of these processes, it is reasonable to describe them statistically. The primary purpose of this paper is to survey possible ways in which statistical or stochastic geometry enters and might be used in petroleum geology and engineering. While it offers some new theory, this paper does not directly suggest any specific new methods for the estimation of hydrocarbon resources or reserves. This deficiency is mainly due to the current lack of relevant data. When data are available the point of view explained herein will be fruitful. Models of bed formation

The model for bed formation by Kolmogorov consists of an unending sequence of alternating periods of deposition and erosion of sediments, with the amounts of deposition and erosion being independent random variables. This paper examines this model in relation to recent mathematical studies that are relevant to, and simplify, the analysis of the thickness of the bed that remains after the sequence is operated for a long time. This thickness obeys the exponential probability law when the amounts of deposition and erosion also obey the exponential law distributed. For the discrete version formulated by Schwarzacher, the thickness obeys the geometric probability law when the amounts of deposition and erosion obey the geometric law.  相似文献

月球测绘是完成月球探测任务的基础保障。这里提出了一种适合于CE-1获取的CCD影像的多尺度约束自动匹配方法。首先利用SURF算子提取影像上特征点;然后进行基于准核线和最小欧式距离约束的影像匹配;最后采用随机采样算法对误匹配点进行剔除而得到同名点信息。实验结果表明,该匹配方法提取的同名点有利于CE-1月球影像DEM的生成。  相似文献   

全局局部细节感知条件随机场的高分辨率遥感影像建筑物提取

条件随机场模型由于其较强的上下文信息建模能力,被广泛应用于建筑物提取任务中。然而,面对高分辨率遥感影像丰富的地物信息,基于条件随机场的提取方法存在建筑物边界模糊的问题。本文提出了一种全局局部细节感知条件随机场框架,该框架提出全局局部一体化D-LinkNet,在有效利用多尺度建筑物信息的同时保留局部结构信息,解决了传统条件随机场一元势能丢失边界信息的问题。同时,该框架融合分割先验以缓解建筑物类内光谱差异较大的影响,利用更大尺度的上下文信息来精确提取建筑物,并引入局部类别标记代价从而保持细节信息以获取清晰的建筑物边界。实验结果表明,该框架在WHU卫星和航空数据集上的精度评价指标均优于其他对比方法,其IoU分别达89.82%和91.72%,对于复杂场景下的建筑物信息能够获得较好的提取效果。  相似文献

基于随机森林的光子计数激光雷达点云滤波

新一代星载激光雷达卫星ICESat-2首次采用了微脉冲光子计数激光雷达技术,由于单光子探测的灵敏性导致数据在大气和地表下层产生了大量噪声,因此对光子计数激光雷达点云数据实现信号和噪声的分离是开展进一步应用研究的前提和基础。本文选择美国俄勒冈州和弗吉尼亚州2个研究区,采用MATLAS数据,根据光子点云数据的特点构造了12个光子点云特征,对所构造的特征利用随机森林进行变量筛选,用机器学习方法对光子点云进行分类,并将建立好的模型推广到整个研究区。研究结果表明,本文构建的分类器分类总精度达到了96.79%,Kappa系数为0.94,平均生产者精度和用户精度分别为97.1%和96.8%。在相对弱噪声、平坦地形区域和强噪声、复杂地形区域都取得较好的分类结果。本文结果显示了基于少量样本通过机器学习的方法构建模型,可以推广到较大范围区域的光子点云分类应用中。  相似文献
