The dynamic behaviour of two adjacent single‐degree‐of‐freedom (SDOF) structures connected with a viscous damper is studied under base acceleration. The base acceleration is modelled as harmonic excitation as well as stationary white‐noise random process. The governing equations of motion of the connected system are derived and solved for relative displacement and absolute acceleration responses of connected structures. The response of structures is found to be reduced by connecting with a viscous damper having appropriate damping. For undamped SDOF structures, the closed‐form expressions for optimum damping of viscous damper for minimum steady state as well as minimum mean square relative displacement and absolute acceleration of either of the connected SDOF structures are derived. The optimum damper damping is found to be functions of mass and frequency ratio of two connected structures. Further, numerical results had indicated that the damping of the connected structures does not have noticeable effects on the optimum damper damping and the corresponding optimized response. This implies that the derived closed‐form expressions for optimum damper damping of undamped structures can also be used in practical applications for damped structures. 利用NCEP/NCAR再分析资料, 选择了1998年、2003年和2005年夏季我国东部雨带位置变化过程进行诊断分析。研究表明:夏季我国东部暴雨带位置的变动, 受西太平洋副热带高压西伸北跳 (南撤东退) 的调节。当副热带高压西伸北跳 (南撤东退) 时, 暴雨带向北 (向南) 移动。在副热带高压西伸北跳持续时期, 长江流域中下游地区出现高温酷暑天气。副热带高压西伸北跳是由于欧亚大陆上空存在静止Rossby波列, 波的能量沿着高空副热带急流向东传播到我国沿海海岸 (115°~130°E) 时, 在该地区激发出一个长波脊。这个长波脊的建立, 使得副热带高压和对流层上部的青藏高压都朝长波脊方向伸展, 表现为“相向”而行。而当在沿海海岸上空激发出一个长波槽时, 副热带高压南撤东退而青藏高压退回到高原上空。当夏季沿海海岸上空的长波脊持续维持时, 长江中下游会出现持久的高温酷暑天气。根据夏季天气预报的经验, 欧洲中期数值预报中心发布的预报对副热带高压的西伸北跳有较好的可预报性。 相似文献

The standard cumulative semivariograms (SCS), obtained analytically from the currently employed stationary stochastic processes, provide a basis for the model identification and its parameter as well as regional correlation estimations. The analytical solutions for different stationary stochastic processes such as independent (IP), moving average (MA), autoregressive (AR), and autoregressive integrated moving average ARIMA (1,0,1) processes give rise to different types of SCSs which can be expressed in terms of the autocorrelation structure parameters only. The SCSs of independent and MA processes appear as linear trends whereas other type of processes have SCSs which are nonlinear for short distances but become linear at large distances. Irrespective of the stationary stochastic process type the linear portions of SCSs have unit slopes. The vertical distance between these linear portions and that of the IP cumulative semivariogram (CS), provide an indicator for measuring the regional correlation. In the case of stationary processes, the straight line portions of any CS are parallel to each other. Hence, it is possible to identify the model from the sample CS. Finally, necessary procedures are provided for the model parameters estimation. The methodology developed, herein, is applied to some hydrochemical ions in the groundwater of the Wasia aquifer in central part of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 相似文献

To verify the importance of the non‐stationary frequency characteristic of seismic ground motion, a joint time–frequency analysis technique of time signals, called chirplet‐based signal approximation, is developed to extract the non‐stationary frequency information from the recorded data. The chirplet‐based signal approximation is clear in concept, similar to Fourier Transform in mathematical expressions but with different base functions. Case studies show that the chirplet‐based signal approximation can represent the joint time–frequency variation of seismic ground motion quite well. Both the random models of uniform modulating process and evolutionary process are employed to generate artificial seismic waves. The joint time–frequency modulating function in the random model of evolutionary process is determined by chirplet‐based signal approximation. Finally, non‐linear response analysis of a SODF system and a frame structure is performed based on the generated artificial seismic waves. The results show that the non‐stationary frequency characteristic of seismic ground motion can significantly change the non‐linear response characteristics of structures, particularly when a structure goes into collapse phase under seismic action. It is concluded that non‐stationary frequency characteristic of seismic ground motion should be considered for the assessment of seismic capacity of structures. This paper addresses the problem of identification of the modal parameters for a structural system using measured non‐stationary response time histories only. A Bayesian time‐domain approach is presented which is based on an approximation of the probability distribution of the response to a non‐stationary stochastic excitation. It allows one to obtain not only the most probable values of the updated modal parameters and stochastic excitation parameters but also their associated uncertainties using only one set of response data. It is found that the updated probability distribution can be well approximated by a Gaussian distribution centred at the most probable values of the parameters. Using the Entropy of Curves to Segment a Time or Spatial Series 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The concept of the thermodynamics of curves is used to analyze change in the variability of time or spatial series. More specifically, the entropy of a curve makes it possible to divide a nonstationary random field, because of a change in variance, into subdomains where data are said to be stationary. It is demonstrated that for time and spatial series the entropy of a curve is the slope of the cumulative sum of absolute differences. Numerical simulations show the efficiency of this tool. It can be shown that the presence of a linear or quadratic trend is without effect on the localization of the stationary subdomains. A practical case is studied with data collected from a tunnel boring machine where several parameters are recorded. This analysis can bring more information on the mechanical behavior of the different geological formations and explain or justify unplanned delays. 相似文献

The forcing of anomalous divergent wind and transient vorticity fluxes to the anomaly ofstationary waves of DJF (December—January—February) 1982/1983 is studied.The results showthat the anomaly of the transient vorticity flux convergence tends to cancel or dissipate the anomalyof the vorticity sources generated by divergent wind.The stationary wave anomalies are maintainedby both of these forcings.It is also found that,for the DJF 1982/1983 case,both of the vorticitysource anomaly over the tropical and equatorial eastern Pacific and that over the midlatitude NorthPacific are important to maintain the atmospheric circulation anomaly over the Pacific/NorthAmerica region. 相似文献
