Turbulence measurements have been carried out in the surf zone of a wave flume. The purpose of the measurements is to determine the length scale of the turbulence generated by the wave breaking. The length scale of the turbulence is estimated on basis of the correlation between simultaneous measurements of the vertical turbulent fluctuations, taken at different levels above the bed.  相似文献

通过分析1900年以来每5a地球磁场各阶球谐系数的相关系数发现,地球磁场偶极子分量的ρ值在1905-1970年基本保持不变,1970-1985年下降,1985-1995年又上升,呈V字型变化。而非偶极子分量的 值则具有周期性变化,在1915年、1945年和1980年出现峰值,在1935年和1965年则处于低谷,变化周期约为30a。通过分析地球磁场非偶极子分量 值周期变化与日长周期变化的相关性,得出两点新的认识:1.非偶极子分量的周期性变化与核幔边界耦合过程相关,而偶极子分量的变化对应外核的深部过程;2.外核顶部流体具有周期性的变化,其变化周期与日长及非偶极子分量的变化周期一致。  相似文献

本文概要介绍了国内外近几年在地壳形变一地球自转日长变化十年尺度相关性、静寂地震、前驱波三方面的重要研究发现,并分析了这三项研究发现在地震前兆异常机理认识中的作用。初步分析表明:深部核幔耦合作用引起的地壳形变、地球物理场十年尺度波动,是数年至十年尺度地震场兆波动性变化的重要调制因素之一;源于断层脆韧转换带(过渡层)的静寂地震一慢地震缓慢破裂过程,是数天至数月尺度地震短期异常变化产生的重要原因;源于脆韧转换层上部或弹脆性层薄弱部分慢地震过程所辐射出来的低频前驱波(慢地震波),是目前已发现的可重复出现的短临前兆信号,具有数小时至7天左右的地震短临预报指标意义。  相似文献

 The Cartesian moments of the mass density of a gravitating body and the spherical harmonic coefficients of its gravitational field are related in a peculiar way. In particular, the products of inertia can be expressed by the spherical harmonic coefficients of the gravitational potential as was derived by MacCullagh for a rigid body. Here the MacCullagh formulae are extended to a deformable body which is restricted to radial symmetry in order to apply the Love–Shida hypothesis. The mass conservation law allows a representation of the incremental mass density by the respective excitation function. A representation of an arbitrary Cartesian monome is always possible by sums of solid spherical harmonics multiplied by powers of the radius. Introducing these representations into the definition of the Cartesian moments, an extension of the MacCullagh formulae is obtained. In particular, for excitation functions with a vanishing harmonic coefficient of degree zero, the (diagonal) incremental moments of inertia also can be represented by the excitation coefficients. Four types of excitation functions are considered, namely: (1) tidal excitation; (2) loading potential; (3) centrifugal potential; and (4) transverse surface stress. One application of the results could be model computation of the length-of-day variations and polar motion, which depend on the moments of inertia. Turbulence Statistics Above And Within Two Amazon Rain Forest Canopies   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
The turbulence structure in two Amazon rain forestswas characterised for a range of above-canopystability conditions, and the results compared withprevious studies in other forest canopies and recenttheory for the generation of turbulent eddies justabove forest canopies. Three-dimensional wind speedand temperature fluctuation data were collectedsimultaneously at up to five levels inside and abovetwo canopies of 30–40 m tall forests, during threeseparate periods. We analysed hourly statistics, jointprobability distributions, length scales, spatialcorrelations and coherence, as well as power spectraof vertical and horizontal wind speed.The daytime results show a sharp attenuation ofturbulence in the top third of the canopies, resultingin very little movement, and almost Gaussianprobability distributions of wind speeds, in the lowercanopy. This contrasts with strongly skewed andkurtotic distributions in the upper canopy. At night,attenuation was even stronger and skewness vanishedeven in the upper canopy. Power spectral peaks in thelower canopy are shifted to lower frequencies relativeto the upper canopy, and spatial correlations andcoherences were low throughout the canopy. Integrallength scales of vertical wind speed at the top of thecanopy were small, about 0.15 h compared to avalue of 0.28 h expected from the shear lengthscale at the canopy top, based on the hypothesis that theupper canopy air behaves as a plane mixing layer. Allthis suggests that, although exchange is not totallyinhibited, tropical rain forest canopies differ from other forests in that rapid, coherentdownward sweeps do not penetrate into the lowercanopy, and that length scales are suppressed. This isassociated with a persistent inversion of stability inthat region compared to above-canopy conditions. Theinversion is likely to be maintained by strong heatabsorption in the leaves concentrated near thecanopy top, with the generally weak turbulence beingunable to destroy the temperature gradients over thelarge canopy depth.  相似文献

This paper presents results of turbulence measurementsmade in the south of Brazil in the Pampa region.Data collected at 1Hz are used to calculatestandard deviations of temperature and velocities. Onthe other hand data collected at 10Hz areused to study the behaviour of spectra and cospectraof turbulence in the surface layer. Dimensionless dissipation rates of turbulent kinetic energy and temperature variance are also presented. The measured profiles of laboratory fractured rocks should be self-affine fractal.The scaling properties of these profiles are described by two parameters-the fractal dimension D and the crossover length tc The D values of eight profiles are calculated by the ruler method and by the standard deviation method respectively.It is shown that if tc is far greater than the sampling step tc two methods yield the same results,although if it is far smaller than r,the D by the standard method will be about 1.20,while D by the ruler method will very close to 1.0,because two fractal dimensions,local and global,exist on two sides of tc In order to obtain the local fractal dimension which may be close to that of the standard deviation method,the ruler method must be modified.We propose a way to estimate the tc and to modify the ruler method.Finally,a profile having given D is generated in terms of the principle of non-integer order differential,through which the above two methods are verified and lead to the same res  相似文献

This is a companion paper to earlier comparisons and study of operational polar motion series, published recently in the same journal. In this contribution, four operational, publicly available, length-of-day (LOD) time series have been compared to the atmospheric angular momentum (AAM) augmented with recent oceanic angular momentum (OAM) data during September 1997–July 2000, using several intervals ranging from 3 days to almost 3 years. Additionally, the LOD of the International GNSS Service (IGS) historical series and a new LOD combination (CMB) were also analyzed. All the six LOD series showed an overall correlation exceeding 0.99 for the complete interval of almost 3 years. Even for the shortest interval of only 3 days, the correlation was still higher than 0.60. The combined AAM + OAM series with inverted barometer corrections always gave the best correlation. The Rapid Service LOD of the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) compared the best at all intervals but the shortest one, where the CMB LOD was the best with a correlation of 0.73, followed by both IGS series with a correlation of about 0.71. Prior to all the correlation analyses, in addition to the removal of all the known (conventional) LOD tidal variations with periods ranging from 5.6 days to 18.6 years and lunar fortnightly and monthly oceanic tides, small corrections of lunar fortnightly and monthly tides, semi-annual, annual periodical signals, drift and scale had to be estimated with respect to the combined AAM + OAM series.  相似文献
